I just purchase my ipad2 2 days ago. yesterday, there was a sound. today there is no sound. there is a sound only in movies and you tube and music. but no sound on all apps and keyboards. I look it up and seems like ther are few that have this problem. I called walmart coz I bought it there and they told me that they have not heard that before but if I can't fix it, just return it and exchange it with anew one since I have 14 days to do that. The delete key does a backward delete because it is the natural way to delete while typing. May not be to you and the millions of youngsters who grew up with windows computers. When you are typing and want to delete that which you just typed you are already at the end and you delete back to where you want to re-type. When you go back to a document and want to delete a selection, you have to go to the end of the selection instead of the beginning. it's just the way its always been done on macs. it takes some getting use to.
If you select text to be deleted with your mouse then the delete key deletes the selected text. same for either delete key method.
It is not convenient when you tab to fields in a form. That why fn-delete does a forward delete.
Macs have a couple of keyboards. The small "wireless keyboard" only has the (backward) delete (fn-delete forward). The larger "Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad" has both a Delete (backwards) key beside the = abd it has the "delete >" key in the groups with fn, home, end, Pg up and Pg dn. This keyboard is best for users who have switched from windows or are familiar with the windows forward delete.

Is Apple Care worth it for me? Retina macbook - please help!

I'm new to Apple having just bought my first Macbook Pro Retina 13 last month and absolutely loving it!
My question is probably very similar to others but I'm finding contradicting answers everywhere - so is Apple Care worth it for me?
If it doesn't include accidental damage, and just software/hardware, then is there any need for me to purchase it in its first year? Or even 2nd year for that matter due to EU consumer laws?
What confuses me is that when I bought my macbook from the apple store, the employee told me a story of how a woman had just bought her retina macbook 2 months before hand & brought it in for repair as the screen had been damaged from her closing her macbook.. but she didn't have apple care so this cost her £800 to replace the screen - ouch!
But if she DID have applecare, how would this even be covered if it's only software & hardware and no accidental damage? Or are they just a bit more lenient when you have apple care?

Apple makes a profit from AppleCare; otherwise it wouldn't offer the service. On average, buyers lose money on it. Consider whether you can afford to be self-insured for the risk. Make sure you understand that it's a warranty extension and a support contract, not insurance against loss or damage.
If you choose to buy AppleCare, don't buy it at the same time as the Mac, and don't buy it from Apple. Get it from a reputable discounter such as LA Computer anytime before the one-year factory warranty expires.
An exception to the above rule is that if you buy an Apple display together with a Mac, you have to buy AppleCare at the same time in order to get coverage for both.

The best way to do this, is create a folder in km where you upload your files o news to this user and then create a km navigation iview to give to the user the possibility to subscribe to it, the service subscription give to the users notifications on the amendment of the folder.

Appstore back down for 3.1.3 users (please reply)

i speak for many people with 3.1.3 ios on the ipod touch iphones 1g2g3g the pay button is distorting horribly when you click itin the appstore and it will no longer download apps. *i am not the only person with this problem all 3.1.3 users are haveing this problem(please reply)

You are not addressing Apple in this forum. We are just users like yourself.
Yes, it appears that all users of iOS 3.1.3 have this problem. One user contacted Apple and Apple responded that they are away of the problem and are working on it.
That is all we know.

Please fix exporting for CS5!...

I know this isn't the feature request area - I've already sent adobe my letter.
But 100 requests are better than one!
I'm sure we're all experiencing this major problem - that it takes *forever* to export anything, and longer than that when exporting from large projects. Even if you only want to export a 2 minute scene from a 30 minute feature, if your project is large (i.e. anything over 5 minutes long, god forbid multiple sequences) then you can and usually do end up waiting between 30 minutes and and hour(!!) while AME is 'loading' your project. This is a ridiculous waste of time and resources, since more often than not the project you're exporting from is already open and in system memory. And you're not inclined to continue working for fear it would slow AME even further. This double up process - while I see it's point - makes Premiere Pro completely useless in any high pressure situation, where you need to churn out a piece of video as soon as someone asks for it. I've lost clients and damaged working relationships purely because I chose to use Premiere, and have now invested so many thousands of $$$ in Adobe that other software is not something I'd like to face, especially when Premiere is SOOO close to being good.
Is anyone else completely and UTTERLY fed up with this exporting debacle? If so, please let Adobe know before they release CS5, which according to the internet will probably be in a couple of months...still time to fix this!
AND... another thing... the autosave window - that really should be a *background* operation, no?? It's painfully frustrating when you're watching an edit with a client, and ten minutes in the autosave window comes up and STOPS the playback. This ruins the moment and can COMPLETELY RUIN the scene on first viewing for an audience or client. Yes, one could go to the trouble to enter prefs and turn AS off just for that moment, but I don't do that fro fear of not remembering to turn it on and be faced with a lovely apologetic message saying for some unknown reason the software must terminate immediately... you know the ones...
Please feel free to report here other sticky issues wih premiere that prevent smooth workflow efficiency (and then send request to adobe). I'm sure Adobe would love to hear it!

Thanks for your info Harm. I'm totally envious of your machine! I'm sure I'd experience better times with a better CPU and MB. I would love to know if we can reduce your system to it's knees, so to speak, in the way some of us experience. I would wager (were I a bettin man) that if you captured clips in large blocks (many large clips, doco style, perhaps around the 10-20 minute mark, even perhaps a whole HDV tape, since Adobe has seen fit *not* to include Scene Detection for HDV), and had a similar overall number of clips, and duplicated your single sequence 6 or 7 times, for starters, to get your project file up around the 40MB area, your 'loading' time in AME would slow down, I wonder how much by though!
So if you've got a lot of time to spare...
(Yes, some of the practices that result in a project described above are less than desirable, but in reality time and pressure cause you to really push the software like that...)

Apple just sent me an email. It was not addressed to my name and it was asking the recipient to confirm the email address given was their rescue email address. The email mentioned was one of my mail addresses, one I have had with apple for over 10 years. copy below.

Firefox goes into glitch mode. Please fix this for a future version.

I am having a problem and had this problem for a really long time. Firefox would enter glitch mode. Here is an example:

Please fix Lightroom for Sony A700

The splotchy color noise of the Sony A700 processed in Lightroom (or ACR) needs to be fixed. It has come to the point where nearly any A700 user that participates on a photo forum knows that Lightroom is not a good Raw converter for the A700 at ISO 1600 or higher. Maybe I'm overstating? Is there anyone here that doesn't agree with this sentiment?

I'm on Firefox 35 now and Shockwave Flash still crashes and freezes up my Firefox. Please fix this for any future version.

I wanted this fixed for Firefox 34, but nope. It still crashes with "Shockwave Flash may be busy" and I am getting sick of hitting Ctrl+Alt+Delete to go to the task manager and ending firefox.exe. It's not the 1990's anymore. It's 2015.

Apple knows about that problem for over 10 days now but nothing yet.
I'm in Montreal and all none english windows users are unable to "unlock" their new ipod and get that USB cable and itune Icon display.
Come on Apple, are you becoming as bad as the PC and windows world.!

Looks like people using none english windows experience the same problem when they try to config for the first time their Ipod touch. You're gonna be able to connect to your computer to load songs and movies but when come the time to disconnect your device, the Ipod is gonna display (even disconnected from your computer) a screen with an USB cable and an itune icon. The result is that you're gonna be unable to turn your Ipod really on and listening the content of it.
People in Japan, germany, France, etc... had the same problem because of none english windows setup.
Good luck... My Ipod still doesn't work.

This isnt one card, this is all Expresscard slot cards. YOU have rendered with Mavericks, a dead input slot. I have $5k of gear that I cant use since upgrading. Please fix.

I have used /Nokia E71 with latest MfE, i got my details from my Employers Microsoft outlook 2007 like exchnage server, domain and user name.
I just want to synchronise E-mails, whenever i try to synchronise i get "Connection Error. try Later".
Please help me , i am just stuck on that,

Try following the below steps and let me know if we still have the problem.
Choose Yes to create a profile.
Enter these items
E-mail address - e-mail address of your exchange server
Domain - Domain name of your exchange server - Your Exchange Administrator can provide this information
Username - Domain username
Password - email password
Access point - choose the connection you are using. Most likely this is your data plan cellular connection
The Exchange Server will be discovered and populated for you automatically in most cases. If the Exchange server is not discovered, select the Exchange Server field and enter your server information given to you by your email administrator.
Verify the Secure connection is set to Yes. Change to No only if your Exchange Administrator dictates the change. The wrong value will make the connection fail.
Press Options
Select Save
From here you can verify if all is setup correctly by watching the Current status.
Press Options
Select Exit
