Apple tv and FaceTime
Hello there!
I used to do FaceTime on my iPhone 5 and mirror it to the Tv using airplay in my Apple tv. For some strange reason, recently, when I turn the phone to landscape the image on my tv does not turn to "mirror" the image on the iPhone. The screen stays in portrait mode but the FaceTime screen turns... now we have to turn our heads as if we were to eat a taco
I was nice to see my family fill my tv! It was as if we were right in front of each other!
Any suggestion?
I See the same thing but I'm not aware of that it used to be any different.

I only have one apple ID and facetime has worked with it before, but now I get the message "Unable to verify email because it is already in use". I have looked ofr a solution but can't find one. can anyone help please?
I spoke with Apple Support this morning and they believe anything MobileMe related is due to the conversion over to iCloud that's taking place.
As for other email clients, check with your host to see if settings have changed on their end. I use inmotionhosting.com and over the weekend the updated their outgoing requirements so that a password authentication is now needed.

Hi,
Do I need to set up a different apple ID for my home iMac (Mavericks 10.9.5) and my iPhone (iOS 8) if when abroad I want to call my home with FaceTime using my iPhone?
Can I have two different accounts using same apple id?
ThanksGive each regular user of the computer his or her own user account and enable fast user switching. Each user should have a different Apple ID for FaceTime and iMessage.

Three Apple Devices and FaceTime
I have an iPad Air, an Iphone 4 both on IOS 7.04 and and iMac with OX 10.8.5. Facetime calls between the IOS devices work as expected but calls between the iMac and the IOS devices fail in either direction. Calls from the Contact sotware requesting a Factime connection with both IOS devices powered up results in the ring tone, a brief flash on the End button and termination of the call and the message xxxx is not available for Facetime. The iphone shows a missed call. The ipad shows nothing. I have followed all of the posted suggestions for debugging Facetime behaviour. I'm very perplexed
Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

I have an iTouch, and iPad 2 and a PC with iTunes. I was trying out Facetime and I was doing it on the iPad. But when someone was calling me on Facetime, it went to the iTouch first. Why? How can I separate the iPad Facetime from the iTouch Facetime for privacy reasons? Is this all driven by the Apple ID?

hello I'm experiencing some problems with my iMessage and face time. I did with Apple provided me online. I did the steps. Nothing will work, it keeps saying activation turn on Wi-Fi when my Wi-Fi is turned on. As soon as I got this on Christmas. iMessage and FaceTime have not been working. My Apple and ID password are correct. Everything else is working fine. My iOS updates are up to date, everything is fine except FaceTime and iMessage

Okay. We have three Ipads in our house with only one Itunes account. When I go into imessaging and facetime on each of the devices, it wants to start switching my wife's cell phone and then the three emails associated with each Ipad to the contact information for all of the Ipads. As of this morning, only the imessaging and facetime are turned on my wife's iphone and ipad. My kids imessaging and facetime is turned off. Do you really have to have an itunes account for each device to make then work??? Any help would be very much appreciated.
RyanThere is only one solution. Each user must have their own separate user account. All of their respective data would be contained in their separate user accounts. This also means each will have a separate iTunes Library. If you all use the same third-party apps, then each will have to purchase their own copies under their own Apple IDs. Some data sharing is possible. See:

When I go to FaceTime I put in my Apple ID and then sign in, it signs in so I then tap next but it says its Verifying for a bit then takes me back to the sign in, what do I do?
I did what they said but it still had me sign in and took me to the Virfying. Still does not work

I was using my iphone just like any normal day and out of blue it went off because I let the battery die
it was 1% and I didn't put on charger, I forgot
so I put it on charger just like any normal day and it charged for sometime then it started to turn on
suddenly I got a weird screen on it a pic "iOS 6" and slide button saying "slide to set up" with all languages
I pulled that slide button
I found a screen of
Apple ID Sign In:
To finish setting up iCloud, iMessage, and FaceTime enter Apple ID password for ********@icloud.com
password:
so I wrote my password then clicked next
it got me to another screen saying "Updating iCloud settings...."
then it kept loading and loading so I restarted my mobile then I did all the above steps again
the next time it loaded fast and got me a new screen saying :
Your iPhone is now set up.
You're ready to start using the most advanced iOS ever
Start using iphone
and when I click on start using iphone, the iphone restarts itself and repeats the steps again !!!!!
I've tried everything, restarting my iphone, doing the steps, respring, clicking on home and off button, EVERYTHING !!!!
but it keeps redoing that stupid steps without any end
please HELP ME!! I need my iphone back!!!weird, i would try to restore through iTunes and set up as new as a test.

The story is that I have an imac i7 that was still under Applecare when the logicboard coraked.
I brought it in for repair and got it back. Somehow imessage and facetime would never connect anymore and come up with connection errors yet everything else worked. I tried all tens or hundreds of suggestions over hte last few months and nothing worked.
So I resorted to a clean hard drive repartitioning and install of Mountain Lion.
To my surprise: it sill did not work.
That;s when I found an obscure post that I am quite certain is the problem: the poster had the exact some symptoms I had and NOTHING worked. Hrs of phone support etc. Until it dawned on him that he had a logic board replacement after which the issue occurred. He found that his serial was no longer the same as the original item and came up as invalid on the apple website and was not listed in the "About" of his iMac.
I immediately recognized the recent support symptom and motherboard replacement and checked the rest. And behold it is all exactly as he said. He had to bring it back to the service center and they put the original serial back in and everything worked again.
Here is my problem: months of troubleshooting have passed and my iMac went out of Applecare warranty. Support does not warrant an exception for the serial online and the service center wants to get paid I am not wealthy. This computer is my life and I need them to change the serial back to what it was when I purchased the machine. Can someone suggest how I get help. Apple is acting like M-soft in this respect.The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ... -
When I got my iPad I created a new apple ID it was working fine but then one day when I went to the app store and checked my apple ID, as usual it asked for a password, I typed the password in and was very sure it was the right one because i've been using it for a long time. Then it said incorrect password. I tried to type it in again and again and again but it still said incorrect password. We checked if it still exists on apple.com but then it said no apple ID found or no matches to our records or something like that. So I decided to get a new one but still used the same email. I found out that if 1 email is associated with 2 different apple ID's it may cause problems but as I said we checked if the old one still existed on apple.com it said it didn't so I thought it was fine to use the email again. After that the app store was working fine. I can install games and apps. I knew I had to sign in to iMessage and FaceTime again because of the I got a new apple ID but whenever I try signing in, it always says "Incorrect password" and sometimes "check you internet connection". I've tried signing in over and over again but nothing worked I still can't sign jn to iMessage and Facetime. What do you think I should do?
