AppleCare Plus problems purchasing after activating phone

First time owning an apple product and unaware of so many restriction on apps,warranties and the like.
Iphone5 just activated July13th, registered online and surprise *warranty exp 6/1/14.
Wait a minute, I just activated the phone called 3 reps and 1 phone contact all rude and unhelpful to a new customer.
What I learned is that Apple has 2 plans (applecare and applecare+)
What I did NOT know is that if you PURCHASE and IPHONE you MUST ACTIVATE immediately for the applecare+ warranty.
This warranty covers accidental damage, and if you are an NEWBIE like me and wait to activate you are screwed.
As a customer, I suggest APPLE inform upfront that APPLECARE+ must be purchase ASAP after purchase even if UNACTIVE phone is in sealed box.
I called all these people to let them know I was unaware of this, I just activated my phone 10days late and they just shut me down.  Seriously, my phone still has the screen protectors that came with it..

Certainly I can buy the regular applecare but I dont even think of keeping such product with such rude service.

You actually have 30 days from your original purchase date to buy the AppleCare+ if you are in the US.  If you do not buy it at the time of purchase you will either need to bring it to an Apple Store and have them inspect the phone for damage, or call AppleCare and have them run a diagnostic report to check for damage.

    I've bought each and every iPhone that has come out---in all variations and I've really never had any problems.  Naturally, when the iPhone 4S came out in October 2011, I bought one from the Apple Store online.  At that time, the original Apple Care was still available and there was NO requirement to add it at the time of purchase or within 30 days. 
    Now, it's several months later and I want to buy the original Apple Care for my iPhone 4S. My iPhone 4S is still under the original warranty until 10-12-12.  However, the staff at Apple Store online is repeatedly telling me that I can't buy the original Apple Care.  That is does not exist and because it's been over 30 days since I bought my iPhone 4S, I can't buy AppleCare +.
    (Which THAT I understand.)
    My question is------- has anyone else run into this problem and how was it resolved??  Since there was NO AppleCare Plus offered at the time of the iPhone 4S release, why am I being denied the option to further protect my iPhone as I have EVERY OTHER iPHONE IN THE PAST??????
    The girl I spoke to tonight essentially told me I had no idea what I was talking about and referred me to Customer Service----but since I've been buying Apple products for 25+ years and I've been buying AppleCare for EVERY product I have since that has been offered, I don't understand why I'm going to be stuck in limbo with this phone.  It is really frustrating me.
    Any ideas that anyone has I would really appreciate!  If you've had a similar problem, please let me know how you solved it.

    Well Good news everyone!! I called Technical Support with AppleCare and they sold me the original AppleCare coverage for both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4S.  I spoke to a VERY nice gentleman named Miguel who told me they had been running into this problem with some customers that had just been in limbo because of the status change of AC----but that the original AC was still available if the original warranty was still intact.  So, YEAH!  Apple came through and this is yet another reason I am such an Apple devotee!

    My Iphone 4 broke 2 months before my upgrade date and I bought another iphone 4 from a friend to get me by until then.  I activated it and thought all was gravy until I go to upgrade to an Iphone 5s.  It says my upgrade isn't for 2 more years from the activation date of the phone I bought 3rd party.  I'm very upset about this and would like to get to the bottom of this.  I've tried talking to sales reps both in person and at the store and they acted like deer in headlights about the issue.  Should I ask for a copy of my upgrade history?  I'm very tempted to end my contract if this cannot be resolved.

    If you are organizer, which I assume is the reason why you and not your wife is here, asking question - you can't do that, but what you can do is ask your wife to place itunes gift card with balance on her account and according to Apple that balance is going to be used first.

I purchased (rented) a Galaxy S4 through the Edge program, with the $5.00 insurance/protection plan (that the sales associate handling the purchase on the phone recommended),which is no longer valid!  2 months after getting the Edge device, I go to make a claim and Asurion will not honor it because I am not covered; however, all the order confirmation receipts emailed and physically sent with the device show the addition of insurance when I signed up for the Edge program.  According to Verizon (via live chat with 'Nicole'), this $5 protection plan no longer exists and the order numbers I have on my paperwork (multiple documents) are invalid in the Verizon system.  For over a week, I have spent more than 10 hours on the phone, live chat and in the store trying to get some sort of resolution and the customer service reps just put me on hold or promise to "call me back within 30 minutes after they speak to a supervisor" and (surprise!) they never return my call.  Or they send me to the store to show proof of my documents, but then those associates cannot help either.  Also, the 'Edge Agreement' in my profile has the wrong device (and serial #), wrong payment amounts and no mention of the 'consumer protection plan'  on it, which is listed on the order confirmation sent via email and with the actual Edge device on September 23.  Obviously, there was some sort of glitch or mistake on Verizon's part, but NO ONE WILL EVEN TRY TO ACCEPT THAT FACT!  WHY WON'T ANYONE GET BACK TO ME WITH SOME SORT OF EXPLANATION FOR ANY OF THIS?!  Is it typical for Verizon to do away with a service (i.e., $5.00/month protection) and not inform the customer of this?  And is it company policy to be as unhelpful as possible to a paying customer who needs assistance when there is cleary something wrong on your end?  And finally, am I really suppose to believe that Verizon customer service has no email addresses or fax machines so a customer can send you proof of what is on the receipt you sent and that I have to take more of my time to go to the actual store?!  Finally, does anyone at Verizon even read these messages or even give a F@#k about the customer as long as they keep making money?!

    i would not want to bet on nokia ever releasing a patch or update in the software to allow this function on this particular phone.
    if you look at nokia phones over the years, they have added functionality like this across a wide range all at once, take for example timed profiles on symbian phones. these have only just been phased in.
    i do not think it is a development cop out, more along the lines that nokia is a huge company and as such would have a huge effor in market research. if they didnt pick this out through their market researc, why spend the money adding it?
    the comment on annoyance is entirely personal to me, as it is important to you - you may want to consider moving to a symbian (series 60) based handset as these give you a lot of expansion for this sort of need.

    In the last few weeks, I have had a lot of problems with software activation.  
    I purchased 10 copies of Office.  5 would not activate.  I took the software back to the local as suggested by customer service, but was denied an exchange.
    I purchased 7 copies of Adobe Photoshop elements. 3 activated, the rest did not.
    What is going on?  Can I get these replaced, refunded, or activated?

    That’s quite the amount of software to purchase! I’m sure you were quite disappointed to find that not all of the software codes seemed to be activated, delaying your use of the software. I’m glad you’ve reached out to us in multiple ways to see what options are available to you, and I apologize if we have been unable to find a resolution for you.
    Using the email address you registered with the forum, I was only able to locate eight copies of Microsoft Office, and couldn’t locate any copies of the Adobe Photoshop Elements. That being said, I was able to see that some of the codes did fail to process through the activation process. I would be happy to look into getting these activated for you.

    Eek.  Sounds like something in the app caused some serious software issues.  You can try a hard reset, but I'd imagine you're probably going to have to do an iTunes restore to get it running right again.

    Can't make or receive any calls. When making a call, you see the thing dialing but no tone, it rings at he other end however. When somebody trying to call me, it does not ring at my end. If you try to end the call, the phone page will just freeze, when you exit the phone page to go try the MP3 player for example, and come back, the phone is still trying to end the previous call. I tried resetting the network settings, turn the phone off and on , no difference at all. It's easter Sunday, everything is closed here in Montreal.
