Applescript debugging PLEASE HELP

So I wrote this automator program that basically takes a list of sequences and inputs them into a server and appends a URL on the page into a text document
It works perfectly for a couple and then randomly just stops working and it is driving me craaaazy . i've been trying different delay times but just can't seem to figure out the problem.
so before this applescript there is a for loop then sends all the sequences to it one at a time .
1st) tabs to the text box
2nd) pastes the sequences into the text box
3rd) tabs to the Proceed button
4th) presses enter
5th) on next page, it grabs the URL that is specified at a certain position
the bug randomly happens after it pastes the sequence into the box and then it will randomly go to the URL bar at the top of Safari and get stuck doing weird things over there .  this throws off the whole flow of everything ?
I REALLY want to know why this is happening ? Why would it work for like 3 or 4 andf then act up on the next one when the format for the sequences are all the same ? Do I increase a delay at a certain position ? I think one way to bypass this problem would be to tell applescript to press the proceed link" does anyone know how to do this?
delay 1
tell application "Safari" to open location "http://rna.tbi.univie.ac.at/cgi-bin/RNAfold.cgi"
delay 5
tell application "System Events"
    key code 48
    key code 48
    delay 0.5
    keystroke "v" using command down
    delay 4
    key code 48
    key code 48
    key code 48
    key code 48
    key code 48
    key code 48
    key code 48
    key code 48
    key code 48
    keystroke return
end tell
delay 5
tell application "Safari"
    set thelink to do JavaScript "document.links[4].href " in document 1
end tell

But what about this?
do shell script "command " with administrator privileges
You can also include your password, to avoid the dialog, using the syntax:
do shell script "command " password YourPassword with administrator privileges
Though it would be kind of a security risk, its still convient...
And no, I am not the one trying to get around the block, its funny that you bring that up though, but why would I be asking how to incorprate the admin account and password into the script if I was the one trying to get around it..? But yes, thank you for your help.

  • Applescript gurus please help - re Bluetooth mose freeze

    Quite a number of people are experiencing problems with a Bluetooth mouse freezing in Leopard. (see eg thread 6108612)
    One fix that works for me is to use a USB mouse to turn Bluetooth off and turn it on again. This seems to reconnect the Bluetooth mouse.
    Until a fix is found for this problem, one quick solution would be to run a short Applescript command to turn off bluetooth then turn it on again, and attach this to a keystroke combo in Quicksilver (for example). This way a simple keystroke would fix the disconnect.
    My problem is, being very new to Apple, I don't know enough to write such a script.
    The psuedo code might look something like:
    Open System preferences
    Goto Bluetooth prefs
    Turn off Bluetooth
    Turn on Bluetooth
    Exit
    Could one of the Applescript sages out there please help?
    TIA.
    DN

    I'm not at all a script gur as you you'll see from my script which is half-backed but it works for me.
    In order for it to work the bluetooth button should be showing in the menu bar.
    here is my script.
    tell application "System Events" to tell the front menu bar of process "SystemUIServer"
    tell menu bar item 1
    click
    tell 2nd menu item of front menu
    click
    end tell
    end tell
    end tell
    tell application "System Events" to tell the front menu bar of process "SystemUIServer"
    tell menu bar item 1
    click
    tell 2nd menu item of front menu
    click
    end tell
    end tell
    end tell
    This script will only work if the bluetooth is the first item in the menu bar on the left side. It is on my computer (the last is spotlight) and I think that's always true. Otherwise one needs to adjust the value "1" in the above script. A better way would be to make the script cycle through menu items till it finds the bluetooth button but I'm too lazy to figure out how to do that.

  • :::Flash Debugging Please Help:::

    Hello all,
    I've just finished a website and there is a bug and I've
    been having the most trouble figuring out. Go to
    www.chameleonworldwide.com/CCD.swf . Click on the mainsite button,
    and it will take you to a random part of my intro, I used the code
    on(release){
    gotoAndPlay("main", 1);
    and if it actually did that we would be fine, however, what
    you see when you click the button is not in the "main" movie scene
    at all. Its in the "intro" scene. I can't figure how I would change
    this code, because I've typed in exactly what I wanted to do.
    Please Help! My site cannot officially lauch until I fix
    this.

    the button does not work here at all... tho running SWF
    directly w/o html
    might have such effects. So can't even test it, sorry.

  • How to DEBUG a function module running in background mode? Please help!

    Hi Experts,
       I am calling a function module in my ABAP code in background module using the following syntax:
      CALL FUNCTION 'YBBC2_CREATE_SNAPSHOT' IN BACKGROUND TASK
              TABLES
                itab_std_format_inv = itab_std_format_inv
                itab_snapshot_inv = itab_snapshot_inv.
            COMMIT WORK.
    If I put the breakpoint in the CALL FUNCTION line and execute the program, the debugger does not take me to the valled function module. This may be because I am running the function module as background task.
    I cannot comment this  "IN BACKGROUND TASK" statement as well since i am debugging in Quality system where I don't have change access.
    So how to DEBUG a function module running in background mode? Please help!
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Hi,
    You could try to use the following trick:
    (1) Put an endless loop into the coding of your function module where you want to start debugging, e.g.
      DATA:
        lx_exit_loop(1)     TYPE c.
      lx_exit_loop = ' '.
      DO.
        IF ( lx_exit_loop = 'X' ).
          EXIT.
        ENDIF.
      ENDDO.
    (2) Call your function module in background task
    (3) Call transaction SM50 and search for the background process.
    (3) Choose from menu Program/Mode -> Program -> Debugging
    Now you the debugger should bring you right to your endless loop. Set lx_loop_exit = 'X' in the debugger and continue (F5 or F6).

  • How to debug a RFC function  when the user is non-dialog type? Please help!

    hi Experts,
      I am calling a RFC FM residing in B from R/3 system A.
    R/3 A -
    Call FM residing in B----
    > R/3 B
    The user attached to the remote destination is a non-dialog type.
    I cannot change the user type of this user.
    Therefore how to debug the RFC FM in System A?
    Are there any alternatives?
    Please help
    Thanks
    Gopal

    in your RFC FM, code an endlees loop.
    something like:
    data: gv_x  type xfeld value 'X'.
    do.
      if gv_x = space.
        exit.
      endif.
    enddo.
    now you can catch the mode in TA SM50, go in it, change gv_x to space and debug what is coming further.

  • Please help debug

    ****newbie****
    can someone please please help me debug this small piece of java code?
    it may only take you 2 sec!? been trying to do it for hours!
    theres three errors i can't fix,
    theres an error in the 1st statement with EasyIn
    and 2 in the last statement.
    this line:
    if (found) System.out.println("The number was found");
    and error with "}" in the last line
    public class seqSearch {
          * @param args
              // TODO Auto-generated method stub
              private int numbers2search[] = new int[10];
              private double nearest;
              public void fillArray(){
                        for (int i=0; i<numbers2search.length-1; i++){
                             System.out.println ("Please enter number");
                             numbers2search= EasyIn.getInt();
    public void find(int num){
         boolean found = false;
         for (int i=0; i<numbers2search.length-1; i++){
              if (numbers2search[i]==num)found=true;
    public void display(){
         if (found) System.out.println("The number was found");
         else{
              System.out.println("The number was not found");

    You could have posted this as a reply in the other thread, rather than starting a new thread. And you still haven't posted the exact error messages.
    For the third one, however, you need an additional "}" to "close" the class definition. (And you should probably enclose the statement in the if side of the block with braces, if you are going to do it on the else side).
    As far as the second error, I am assuming that it concerns the fact that you have declared found in one method and are trying to access it in another, you cannot do that.
    And I will assume that the first error is because you haven't imported the "EasyIn" class.
    I think you need to read all of the basic tutorials, before you attempt to continue.
    Edit: Okay, now you provided, at least sketchy, error messages.

    hi
    i hope it will help u too.
    here is the instructions.
    -Click on Button “Debug” on toolbar of forms, (icon like a “bug”), will active debug_mode;
    2-Execute the forms (Run);
    3-The Forms will show a windows “Forms Debugger” with 3 panels: -The first is “SOURCE PANE”, showing your source code of procedure or trigger that is running; - The second, is “Navigator Pane”, shows a tree of objects to debug; - The third is “INTERPRETER PANE”, where you do pl/sql code to run; Go to second frame(Navigator Pane) and expand node “+MODULE”, select your forms module(click on it);
    4-Open the tree, navigate until your trigger that you want to debug (or to debug ALL CODE select menu “DEBUG” -> “Trigger” and choose Location=”Every Statement”, and write “raise debug.break;” on field trigger_boddy)
    5-If you want to debug a specific trigger of a text_item, go to block, select the text_item, then select the trigger, the source code will show in “source pane”;
    6-Go to menu “DEBUG” -> “TRIGGER” and write “raise debug.break;” on field trigger_boddy (or do a double click over a line code that can be debuged); When the forms run, and run this trigger, the run mode will be “suspend” and forms return to this page of “DEBUG”, where you can view values of any variable, values of block_itens, values of SYSTEM variables and go to a “step by step” running your code line to line, and view changes on variables;
    7-In this step, you setup the debugger, to run now, click on red “X” to close debugger, the forms will be run;
    8-You go run until the code marked to break; The cursor will stop on first line that is running (Source pane) with a signal => on the line;
    9-Now you can run line by line; entire block or return to normal run (see buttons enables);
    When debugging, explore the Navigator, and see anothers variables values like :system.current_record; :system.record_status; :sytem.message_level; Global variableshttp://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/140073/0/

    Hello,
    I'm facing exactly the same problem, that is:
    a Cisco SIP Phone 9971 won't register on CME 8.6 running on a 2811
    I have read all the postings to this Forum, but I have not been able to solve it.
    In my case the commands voice register dn  and  voice register pool are OK.
    So frankly, I have no idea what I could be missing.
    I'm pasting the Router's config.
    I hope somebody is able to point me in the right direction.
    Here is the config.  Thank you!

  • Adobe Media Encoder error, please help

    I've just recently tried to use Adobe Media Encoder for the first time and no luck. When I try to run a queue it gives me the following error message and shuts down. I have AME version 5.0.1.0 64 bit for Win 7 64 bit. I'm trying to convert a .MPG into any other format. I've tried many different configurations and it still shuts down. Please help. I want to use this thing.
    Adobe Media Encoder Debug Event
    Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error.
    [..\..\Exporter.cpp-390]
    button - Continue
    then it shuts down

    Hi,
    Having exactly the same issue. Did you manage to resolve?

  • Adobe media encoder error message - please help

    I purchased adobe creative suite 4 web standard in january of 2010.  I'm in the process of learning how to use all the features.  I am building a website in dreamweaver and wanted to create and import a flash movie.  I opened adobe media encoder from my program files.  I added an avi file to the encoder, chose a medium quality for web, and clicked Start Queue.  I then got the following pop up error message:
    Error Message:
    Adobe Media Encoder Debug Event
    Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error.
    [..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-754]
    Please help.
    Thank You.

    This forum is for "flash media live encoder". For Adobe Media Encoder related queries go to Creative Suite forums.

    I click on the iTunes store button and it comes up with the loading bar at the top of the screen where the song time marker would be, but nothing ever happens. It just loads and loads and loads, I don't even get an error message...
    With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
    Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
    (If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • Please help with SIP configuration on 2801 router

    Hi All.
    Please help me to setup a SIP account. I’m already struggling to do that for a few days, and can’t find out how to finish that. We have 2xISDN lines running, so I need to add a SIP trunk to existing config.
    The information from our SIP provider:
    We have issued the following DDI range: 018877000 – 99
    There is no need to register the DDI’s as these will be offered to your PABX IP address provided to in the completed SIP trunking form.
    Configuration details are as follows:
    Our Primary Proxy:-        99.234.56.78
    Codec supported:-             G711Alaw, G729 (G711Alaw is the preferred codec)
    Fax Support:-                     T38 and G711Alaw
    DTMF:-                                 RFC2833 and INFO
    CLI Method:-                     Remote-Party-ID
    Trunk doesn’t require registration; you just need to send Invite. In cisco this is done through Dial-peer session-target command. We are authenticating your IP address for outgoing calls and incoming calls we then forward to the IP mentioned in the sip form.
    This is a SIP configuration on Cisco2801 router (I used outgoing calls only):

    I made some changes in the router configuration.
    I removed FA0/0.2 Voice interface from Voice service voip configuration (bind control source-interface FastEthernet0/0.2 and bind media source-interface FastEthernet0/0.2). And now it’s using ip address 10.1.1.101 (data ip).
    The debugging is changed now. I can send and receive a respond from SIP server. But  It shows an error: SIP/2.0 404 Not Found
    Then it moves to ISDN line, and use this line to make a call.

    Then I removed SIP-UA as I was told there is no registration necessary, only Dial-peer configuration.
    But it didn’t affect anything.
    Then I add translate-outgoing called 10 command to dial-peer 9000, nothing happened.
    Really stuck and don't know where to look at.
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Dan.
    Yes, I saw that RTP debugging, but what can I change there? Maybe I need to open more ports on ASA for RTP like 19412?
    I use Cisco ASDM for ASA to make changes.
    There are static NAT rules for: Server source IPs(10.1.1.100) to Outside(translated IPs, 88.99.77.44)  for a few ports.
    Also I added Security policy access rules for LAN: Any to SIP, and Outside: SIP to any.
    For NAT:
    I can't add this: for LAN: STATIC ROUTER IP 10.1.1.101 (AS SOURCE) UDP 5060 TO OUTSIDE IP 88.99.77.44
    (AS TRANSLATED) UDP 5060
    Because there is already translation for the Server.
    Debugging looks like that now. There is no Received: SIP/2.0, but I can make an outside call with no audio.

  • REPORT DOES NOT RUN CORRECTLY , URGENT PLEASE HELP

    Hi,
    I am trying to run a report from visul basic screen, but it does not run correctly. Here is how I am running the report. There is a screen developed in VB This screen prompts the user for user id and password. Once it gets that, it connects to the oracle database and pulls out a column from a table. And passes that value as a parameter to the report. Now I am calling the the report for each individual value . There are 21 value being pulled out of the database and it invokes the report 21 times. So there are 21 report engines gets started. Is there a better way to do that ? Secondly when I pass the parameter , some parameters does not pass correctly I guess , because its not generating any out put . Like out of 21 may be 10 or 11 reports gets generated correctly but rest of the reports are blank. I debug the screen i saw that the parameter value is correct, everything seems good. But still the reports are comming blank. Any Idea why it is so ? The command line that i am using in VB screen is
    Shell "C:\progra~1\ora95_2\bin\rwrun60.exe P:\Business_Analysis_&_Reporting_Tool\Test_REPORT_Templates\STORE_TYPES\Baby_Distribution_Report.Rdf USERID=" & UID & "/" & PWD & "@cposp201 DESFORMAT=PDF DESTYPE=FILE DESNAME=" & txtPath.Text & Replace(strName, " ", "_") & ".PDF BRND='" & adoRecBrand!Brand & "' PRINTJOB=NO PARAMFORM=NO"
    In the above command " adoRecBrand!Brand " is the parameter thats being passed. This is actually a recordset and brand is the column in it. When I debug the screen , I see the value also there. But the report comes out blank. Please help. This is urgent.
    Thanks
    Feroz

    The way you call reports is not scalable. If you have 100 records come back from database, you would end up launch 100 engines at the same times, which probably will blow up your machine. You should use oracle reports server to do that. You can either use rwcli60 to submit the job to reports server, or invoke rwcgi60 from URL.
    I am afraid some of reports engine failed to start and you get nothing back in your case.
    After switch to use reports server achitecture, if you still see some report is blank in your application, then you can run that report with that special set of parameters manually and see if any problem with the report itself.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    -Shaun
