Applescript to read a file and send it via lp command.

I am new to applescript and I am trying automator to use it. I need to put a file on a folder and the applescript should get the file and run lp to send it as a raw format to a network device. Does anyone have a sample or idea on how to do it?
I've been reading and trying some samples, but they do not work.

A good first step would be to get it working using lp in the terminal. Then try the same command in an applescript using "do shell script". When that works, you could try it in a folder action script.

I have the below requirement:
1. A service will generate 3 attachments and place it in a particular directory.
2. SOA service has to pick those 3 files and send those files as input to another custom application which will email.
Design :
1. First SOA will create an archive file of those 3 attachements and then file adapter will poll for that zip file in that location and send that file as a whole to the custom application.
Query:
Now my question, is the above design feasible? If so, how to configure the file adapter to pass the file as input to that custom application?

You can accomplish this via java embedding activity...Create a java embedding, which will create a zip file.. this java code is easy to implement..
You can also do away with un-necessary polling file adapter.. and you can use "Synchronous File Read" operation of File Adapter.. For Sync Read, you'll have to pass the zip file name, which you can easily fetch from java embedding activity..
Let me know, if this doesn't work.

File Adapter - Reading 2 files from sender and one file to receiver

All - I am looking for a best solution for reading two files from sender and generating one file to the receiver.
Here is the scenario
Sender file s - A is a master file. B is a detail file; B will have a one to many records for each record of File A.. that is the relation ship between 2 files.. I am looking for a better solution to
Example
Input:
File A will have a record like "summary1 ABC 1234"
File B will have a record like "Detailfor Summary1 CDF 8679"
Output:
File C shall have a record "consolidatedofSummary&Detail ABC 1234 8679"
1) read records of master row and detail row from these 2 files
2) do the mapping to the receiver output format which it is creating for records with some harcoded values and based on the values from master and detail rows of sender file
if I can accomblish reading sender files and do the mapping to the receiver , assume that mapping to the receiver format would not be cumbersome.

Ur approach to the interface is perfect.... Go ahead.
For selecting multiple files in source use Advanced Selection for files.. and specify the directory paths and also the file name shema...
This will fetch the 2 files into the integration engine... then u map the 2 source files to one target file(2:1 mapping).
Specify accordingly the receiver side FCC and test it end to end...
If u face any prblm post here... some1 will help u out..

I'm introducing to servlet development and I'm trying to do some AJAX calls. The client side is implemented, but I have some troubles on the server side. I want to open an XML file and send it to the client. How can I do that? Any special header?
I have implemented this test in PHP, so you can imagine what I would like to do:

Biztalk need to send a zipped folder contining all these xml to target location

Create or use the publicly available custom component for unzipping the received message and for send use another component to replace all attachments of a multi-part message
(multiple parts to multiple files to zip) for its zipped equivalent. If not multiple message use any zipping API to zip the multiple
files to zip file and send the zipped file in send port.

I have to read the spool data and send it via e-mail as .txt or .xls attachment. I have used FMs LIST_TO_ASCI, RSPO_RETURN_SPOOLJOB and SO_SOLITAB_TO_SOLIXTAB. I am using FM SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send e-mail.
My problem is, the text file being sent is not showing entire data. It's getting truncated after 255 characters. Is this a standard? If yes, then is there any work around for it?
Alternatively, I can send the file as excel attachment. How can this be done?

You will have to convert string to Xstring and then to binary to acheive this.

hello, it sounds like the library is damaged.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

If you are having the same problem, i.e. a disk permission problem, open your favorite search engine and search on, "change disk permissions", and I think you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem. This is a Lightroom forum. Your problem is with your operating system. There is no sense in rewriting instructions that are already available if you do a simple search.
