AppleScript works in the background but UI hangs
When I run this AppleScript http://crystal-objects.com/blogs/frank/aperture_import_action_scripts091511 with OS X Version 10.8.4 and Aperture 3.4.5 the AppleScript Editor GUI hangs displaying multi-coloured spinning disc but the script itself seems to be working with Aperture open I can see the files moving into the new folder structure. The "problem" I am trying to solve with the AppleScript is described here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3321103?start=0&tstart=0 but I have come to this forum for help diagnosing this hanging issue in the script. Any ideas?

Also the script could be simplified by using the following to create folders if they don't exist for populating with timed files:
do shell script "d=~/Desktop/pic/; mkdir -p $d; f=$d`date +%y%m%d%H%M%S`.png"
the script is creating folders inside of an Aperture library. Thise are not Finder folders and your suggestion will not work.

I recently had my iphone 4s screen repaired because the screen was cracked. It was all ok and then a few weeks later something strange happened. The LCD Display connector has partially come loose from the logic board connector, and simply needs to be pressed back down into place. Or the front screen assembly is now faulty, and needs to be replaced again.

Need help with working in the background while doing a presentation
Hi guys,
I wanted to know if my MBP had a way to let me do a presentation, where on my screen I could tell it to present what I wanted it to present rather than showing every single move that I would make. If for instance, I were to open an app for looking up something to present, I wouldn't want people to see that action, but rather the things that I would put on a special window or virtual place created just for that.
Maybe there's an app that will let me do this? What happens to me know is that when I connect the MBP to the data show presenter, everything I do gets displayed on the big screen on the wall. I want to work in the background without people seeing that. Please help. Thanks.The system software makes it about as easy as possible. Press fn+F7 (the pictographic mnemonic on the F7 kety is two overlapping rectangles). This will toggle the display mode between mirroring (same image on internal and external display) and spanning (each display independently contributing to the total viewable area).
As a bonus when using Keynote (the presentation software from iWork) in a dual-screen configuration, you get one display showing the presentation and the other showing you context (the upcoming slide) and a timer. Check out the demo included with you MacBook.

GT 70 2PC - HDD working in the background/display issue
Hi guys,
I experienced 2 strange problems with my MSI GT70 2PC Dominator:
First of all, after installing my SSD and fresh installation of Win 7, the HDD still is to hear(led is indicating it as well) while booting the system. Is it normal that the HDD is still doing some actions in background?
Moreover, after connecting my screen with DisplayPortCable, I chose an option to only use my external display. However after choosing this option, the laptop's screen seems like it's still iluminated (yeah, it's black, but iluminated). The only aid is to switch from the external to laptop display and back again to ext. screen. Is there any fix for that?Hello xaero18,
Storage activity LED is indicating when any storage devices are working, including the SSD, but excluding the ODD.
I've borrowed a GT70 2PE (880M though) and tested the DP output, but can't replicate your problem. Maybe you can try to update your video BIOS to see if it will resolve the problem. Download it from MSI website: http://www.msi.com/support/nb/GT70-2PC-Dominator.html#down-firmware
I'll also test this if I could find any 870M card later. -
I have seral email accounts on my Mac. One does not work on the Mac but works on my iPad and iPhone. The account information was added on the Mac. I keeps rejecting my password.
You don't input the information in manually for iCloud mail. It is automatically set up for you when you sign into iCloud via System Preferences and choose the Mail checkbox. Sign out of iCloud or deselect Mail in iCloud preferences. Open Mail's preferences and choose accounts tab. If iCloud account still exists in the list, delete it. Sign back into iCloud or check the box for mail. The account will be auto created for you.

The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet. Are you still using the same wireless router. The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace. For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio. I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.

How do I uninstall a program that is running in the background but does not show in Force Quit?
Open Activity Monitor and look for the program. Select it and Quit or Force quit it from within Acitiviy Monitor.
Search for the application with Find Any File as it can search areas that Spotlight can't, like invisible folders, system folders and packages. You can drag the app and any associated files from the search result window to the Trash bin in the Dock.

Double tap the Home button, tap & hold the Safari icon until it starts to wiggle, tap the red minus sign to remove it from the Multi-Tasking bar. Tap the Home button when finished.

Have you tried a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release?

The scroll function on my mousepad is disabled when viewing a pdf file in firefox version 5.0. The scroll works on the pdf, but not on the other tabs. When the pdf is closed, the scroll function returns to normal. Any ideas?!
Hey thanx for the help, it worked like a charm.
I think firefox changed the application lay out, as I used to be able to choose my PDF opener from the list at " Adobe Acrobat Forms Document' where I could choose Nitro-PDF reader, but it has now moved all the way to the bottom like you suggested to the obvious place of "Portable Document Format" section.
If someone didn't tell me , I wouldn't have scrolled all the way down to be able to find it... it really should be with all its cousins up the top...

There are some differences between Remote PowerShell and Exchange Management Shell. You cannot use the pipeline when you run some cmdlets by using Remote PowerShell.
