Applet how it works
Hi all,
I am new to Applet subject. Can anyone expain me what does repaint() method do in a applet creation. Which method is essential in applet creation.(just to create a blank applet without any contents)

The repaint() method doesn't have any special relationship with applets. It is used to tell the JVM to call the class's paint() method sometime in the near future. You use it when you have changed something that the paint() method uses and want it to be called to draw the new things in the component's display area.

Java Applets just stopped working on my machine the other day. They now persistently give me a "Failed to Load" message that says "Applet notinited" in it.
I've tried rolling back my machine before Tuesday's Windows Update, but it was VML-related, and probably not the cause of this (plus, the rollback probably would have fixed it if it were the cause). I also tried many different version of the JRE, and removed previous ones entirely before getting new ones. I've tried everything from the latest to older ones, and no luck.
I searched for this error, and Sun points you to proxy settings. Since I have no proxy, and since only my laptop, and not my wife's behind the same router, is affected, I know it can't be that.
Does anyone have any other clues? It's really annoying. And it seems to have happened completely out of the blue. I just can't use Applets any more. I changed no settings and messed with nothing. I'd hate to have to reinstall Windows just to fix Java.Hi, are you running a macmini Intel?
Launch the Console app [ Applications/Utilities/Utilities folder] do you have any message there regarding Java, and what are they if any?
I presume you have the latest Java updates, and have run your Software update to check?
Do you have these showing in the Safari menu bar under Help>Installed plug ins:

I don't know if i can help you in this way. I still haven't implement it for the Internet.
Now i'm working on signed applet because i want the webcam being launched via an applet.
I think that the problem is the same for intranet or internet.
I think i would use a peer to peer model for this project, you could of course use another model to do it.
I would like to know :
Which kind of webserver are you using ?
How do you deploy your project ?
How is launched the client's webcam ?

Hello,
I create an applet from a book. It works in JBuilder4 at home. But when I try to post it on MSFrontPage at home or on the Internet with IE5.5, it doesn't work. It just shows grey applet display with error message "Class SquareInt not found".
When I checked the class name, and the path it seemed OK to me. But have no idea why it doesn't work.
The strange thing, if I replace the applet into simple applets, such as "HelloWorld.class", it always works.

Jbuilder puts things in packages. javaClass.myclass.
for instance. This, as far as i can tell, will look for a directory called javaClass in whatever directory on the webserver the HTML resides, and look in there for myclass.class.
to be honest, i've not totally figured out how it works, but this may give you something to look at.
Also, be sure you have the java plugin installed correctly for ie5.5. -

MoJust install Lightroom on your Surface Pro, plug-in the external drive, and double-click the LR catalog file.

I am new to AE and am trying to work with a 360 equirectangular video I shot with a Freedom 360 and 6 go pros.
Are there any tutorials on how to work with 360 spherical videos? Do I need to download additional plugins?

Of course, the image needs to be big for this, but the plugin you would use is CC Sphere.
Drop your movie into a composition and apply CC Sphere to the video.
Then set the Render option in the effect to "Inside".
Under Shading set Ambient to 100% and Diffuse to 0%.
Then scale inside the effect until the image fills the screen.
Then you'll be able to use the Rotate Y controls in CC Sphere to spin around inside your video!
You can also add Optics Compensation and Reverse the Lens Distortion to straighten out your image.

Web Cam applet is not working in great consistency
Hi... My video capturing applet is not working very well.
The image stream is displayed on the web page in JPEG format with 0.5 quality. However, it crashes after a while and the it does not release the vfw resource.
I have to restart my machine in order to execute it again.
Can anyone please help?

Applet does not work after conversion
Hi,
A have an html page on with a use an applet. The applet is downloaded in two cab files for the internet explorer.
The applet and the download works fine without the java plugin.
When I convert this page to using the html converter the applet does not work

headaches. I know that the java compiler is supposed to compile with an
appropriate version, but I suspect that there may be a few flaws in the
system.
Try compiling with a command like this to force a 1.1 compilation:
"javac -target 1.1 yourfile.java"
This enabled my applets to load in Netscape 4.6, something they wouldn't do before.
Installing the java plugin seems to fix the problem on other browsers. This might
be a new bug introduced by Java 1.4, since I had very few problems with
Java 1.3...I dunno...that's speculation... -
I was looking at the "Find my iPhone" app and I have a doubt regarding how it works for the macbook. In order to detect the location, the macbook should remain signed into iCloud. What if the person who has stolen my macbook logs out of iCloud.
It should work fine for iPhone/iPad because we can enable "Restrictions" to prevent the user from signing out of iCloud. Do we have simialr settings for the macbook?
Thanks,If it's not on the device list, it indicates that someone has gone to Find My iPhone on icloud.com and manually deleted it from the device list (as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0eeddd), and it has not gone back online since (which would cause it to reappear on the device list; Find My iPhone has been turned of in settings on the device; the iClolud account has been deleted from the device; or the entire devices has been erased and restored.
Unfortunately, there's no other way to track the phone other than through Find My iPhone. You could call your carrier and see if they would blackliste it so at least the theif couldn't use it. -
I have to change my apple ID because I'm changing my email address. (I have a Comcast address and am switching to U-verse) I'm worried that when I do, I'll no longer be able to use my first generation apple tv unless I change the apple ID there as well. I'm also trying to find out if changing my apple ID is going to interfere with getting my itunes content on my computer and my iphone. Does anyone know how this works??
My iTunes appleID is an old defunct e-mail address - it does not have to be functional.
Do what Winston says to ensure you keep getting correspondence related to that ID.

On my ipod touch I'm not too sure how I uploaded a album onto my ipod from my laptop. But, now there is no way to delete the album full of pictures. What do I do? I only gotten it a while ago and not fully sure how to work it. Help?
