  • Java Applet to Javascript Communication

    There is a Java Applet which digitally signs files after taking
    private key from a smart card.This applet takes external files.
    I want to do this "Generate digital signature of a web page with the
    help of an applet of which the applet is itself a part"
    I am trying using Java Applet to Javascript Communication.
    I am able to access the object which represents the HTML document.
    That abject is represented by document itself.
    Now I have to somehow generate the whole webpage i.e. like we view in a
    notepad like this:
    <HTML>
    <Title>my page</title>
    Then write into a file and then that file can be signed.
    This is what I feel.
    In C#.net there is a method .innerhtml.
    Does such kind of a method exists in Java.???
    I m searching but cudn't get till now.
    Will serialization work??

    Kindly forget the previous post. Read the following:
    JSObject browserWindow = JSObject.getWindow(this);
    JSObject doc = (JSObject)browserWindow.getMember("document");
    Here doc represents the object of the HTML document.
    This is accessed using Java Applet JavaScript Communication.
    I want to serialize the object represented by doc.
    Then write it into a file and generate it's digital signature.
    In the below written line the parameter fileName is passed.
    CertificationChainAndSignatureBase64 signingResult = signFile(fileName);
    For this I have added few lines in the code written below.
    see first 10-30 lines. Though this code gets compiled but it is not running. When I want to sign the file , it throws an error
    "Unexpected error:sun.plugin.javascript.ocx.JSObject"
    This code is just one class. Two other classes are needed to completely test the code.
    Should I post them ??
    Kindly see what is the error.
    I will be highly grateful and Sorry for confusing in the previous mail...

    return messageString;
    and yet u need to signed the applet
    1. Compile the applet
    2. Create a JAR file
    3. Generate Keys
    4. Sign the JAR file
    5. Export the Public Key Certificate
    6. Import the Certificate as a Trusted Certificate
    7. Create the policy file
    8. Run the applet
    Susan
    Susan bundles the applet executable in a JAR file, signs the JAR file, and exports the public key certificate.
    1. Compile the Applet
    In her working directory, Susan uses the javac command to compile the SignedAppletDemo.java class. The output from the javac command is the SignedAppletDemo.class.
    javac SignedAppletDemo.java
    2. Make a JAR File
    Susan then makes the compiled SignedAppletDemo.class file into a JAR file. The -cvf option to the jar command creates a new archive (c), using verbose mode (v), and specifies the archive file name (f). The archive file name is SignedApplet.jar.
    jar cvf SignedApplet.jar SignedAppletDemo.class
    3. Generate Keys
    Susan creates a keystore database named susanstore that has an entry for a newly generated public and private key pair with the public key in a certificate. A JAR file is signed with the private key of the creator of the JAR file and the signature is verified by the recipient of the JAR file with the public key in the pair. The certificate is a statement from the owner of the private key that the public key in the pair has a particular value so the person using the public key can be assured the public key is authentic. Public and private keys must already exist in the keystore database before jarsigner can be used to sign or verify the signature on a JAR file.
    In her working directory, Susan creates a keystore database and generates the keys:
    keytool -genkey -alias signFiles -keystore susanstore -keypass kpi135 -dname "cn=jones" -storepass ab987c
    This keytool -genkey command invocation generates a key pair that is identified by the alias signFiles. Subsequent keytool command invocations use this alias and the key password (-keypass kpi135) to access the private key in the generated pair.
    The generated key pair is stored in a keystore database called susanstore (-keystore susanstore) in the current directory, and accessed with the susanstore password (-storepass ab987c).
    The -dname "cn=jones" option specifies an X.500 Distinguished Name with a commonName (cn) value. X.500 Distinguished Names identify entities for X.509 certificates.
    You can view all keytool options and parameters by typing:
    keytool -help
    4. Sign the JAR File
    JAR Signer is a command line tool for signing and verifying the signature on JAR files. In her working directory, Susan uses jarsigner to make a signed copy of the SignedApplet.jar file.
    jarsigner -keystore susanstore -storepass ab987c -keypass kpi135 -signedjar SSignedApplet.jar SignedApplet.jar signFiles
    The -storepass ab987c and -keystore susanstore options specify the keystore database and password where the private key for signing the JAR file is stored. The -keypass kpi135 option is the password to the private key, SSignedApplet.jar is the name of the signed JAR file, and signFiles is the alias to the private key. jarsigner extracts the certificate from the keystore whose entry is signFiles and attaches it to the generated signature of the signed JAR file.
    5. Export the Public Key Certificate
    The public key certificate is sent with the JAR file to the whoever is going to use the applet. That person uses the certificate to authenticate the signature on the JAR file. To send a certificate, you have to first export it.
    5: Export the Public Key Certificate
    The public key certificate is sent with the JAR file to the whoever is going to use the applet. That person uses the certificate to authenticate the signature on the JAR file. To send a certificate, you have to first export it.
    In her working directory, Susan uses keytool to copy the certificate from susanstore to a file named SusanJones.cer as follows:
    keytool -export -keystore susanstore -storepass ab987c -alias signFiles -file SusanJones.cer
    Ray
    Ray receives the JAR file from Susan, imports the certificate, creates a policy file granting the applet access, and runs the applet.
    6. Import Certificate as a Trusted Certificate
    Ray has received SSignedApplet.jar and SusanJones.cer from Susan. He puts them in his home directory. Ray must now create a keystore database (raystore) and import the certificate into it. Ray uses keytool in his home directory /home/ray to import the certificate:
    keytool -import -alias susan -file SusanJones.cer -keystore raystore -storepass abcdefgh
    7. Create the Policy File
    The policy file grants the SSignedApplet.jar file signed by the alias susan permission to create newfile (and no other file) in the user's home directory.
    Ray creates the policy file in his home directory using either policytool or an ASCII editor.
    keystore "/home/ray/raystore";
    // A sample policy file that lets a JavaTM program
    // create newfile in user's home directory
    // Satya N Dodda
    grant SignedBy "susan"
    permission java.security.AllPermission;
    8. Run the Applet in Applet Viewer
    Applet Viewer connects to the HTML documents and resources specified in the call to appletviewer, and displays the applet in its own window. To run the example, Ray copies the signed JAR file and HTML file to /home/aURL/public_html and invokes Applet viewer from his home directory as follows:
    Html code :
    </body>
    </html>
    <OBJECT classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"

    <PARAM NAME="type" VALUE="application/x-java-applet;version=1.3">
    </OBJECT>
    </body>
    </html>
    appletviewer -J-Djava.security.policy=Write.jp
    http://aURL.com/SignedApplet.html
    Note: Type everything on one line and put a space after Write.jp
    The -J-Djava.security.policy=Write.jp option tells Applet Viewer to run the applet referenced in the SignedApplet.html file with the Write.jp policy file.
    Note: The Policy file can be stored on a server and specified in the appletviewer invocation as a URL.
    9. Run the Applet in Browser
    Download JRE 1.3 from Javasoft
    good luck! [email protected]
    i already give u many tips, i use 2 weeks to try this to success, hopw that u understand that, a result of success is not important, the process of how to get things done is most usefull!

    Hi,
    Though there are a lot of importing parameters, you should give only one structure for outtable, and read as index 1 and index 2.
    FORM GET_SPRAS TABLES intable   STRUCTURE itcsy
                                              outtable  STRUCTURE itcsy.
      DATA: lv_kunnr LIKE kna1-kunnr.
      CLEAR: GV_SPRAS.
      lv_kunnr = intable-value.
      CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT'
        EXPORTING
          input  = lv_kunnr
        IMPORTING
          output = lv_kunnr.
      SELECT SINGLE LAND1 SPRAS INTO (gv_land1, gv_spras) FROM KNA1
        WHERE KUNNR = lv_kunnr.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.
        READ TABLE outtable INDEX 1.
        outtable-value = gv_spras.
        MODIFY outtable INDEX 1.
        READ TABLE outtable INDEX 2.
        outtable-value = gv_land1.
        MODIFY outtable INDEX 2.
      ENDIF.
      IF gv_land1 EQ 'DE'.
        CLEAR: GV_LAND1,
               GV_SPRAS.
      ENDIF.
    ENDFORM.

  • Problems with running Applet through HTML

    I am currently having problems with running my file through the HTML. For some reason when I open it in the browser it keeps saying Error. I am programming in NetBeans.

  • Applet/Javascript/JSP Communication

    I have defined the following for applet/javascript communication in my applet class
    JSObject topWindow;In my init() method I initialised topWindow as follows
    topWindow = JSObject.getWindow(this);I wrote this call to javascript in my applet destroy method.
    String userDetailsString[] = {String.valueOf(userCount), String.valueOf(userNumber)};
    topWindow.call("closeWindow", userDetailsString);My javascript method is as follows in my html page which has the applet
    function closeWindow(args)
               var userCount = args[0];
          var userNum = args[1];
          var filename = "http://localhost:7001/decrement.jsp?userCount="+userCount+"&userNum="+userNum;
          win1 = window.open(filename,'Logoff',config='height=100,width=200,toolbar=0,scrollbars=0,resizable=0,left=300,top=75');
       }This decrement.jsp call is a file on Weblogic and its supposed to decrement the value of userCount for the UserNum using a sql update query which are passed from the applet to javascript and then to this jsp.
    When I close the browser which should call the destroy method in the applet nothing happens and my javascript is not triggered. I do have MAYSCRIPT in my applet tags and also have the MAYSCRIPT as a param with true as its value within applet tags.
    Where am I going wrong and also have I used the args variable in my javascript correctly to retrieve the values from the applet into the javascript?
    Thanks

    Try to use window.eval("..") That could help sometimes!

    Do you mean applet or Servlet?
    An Applet is java code that is downloaded over the web and runs in a web browser environment. Is this what you are doing?
    I suspect you are really talking about servlet/JSP environments, and the ability to include images from the database in a web page.
    In either case (applet or servlet), you want to be able to access images via a URL. For a Servlet/JSP/web page, this URL will be specified in a HTML <IMG> tag with a key as a parameter to the image you wish to view. Images are not in-line downloaded in a web page. They are access after the HTML is loaded, and are accessed with URLs, sometimes relative URLs rather than fully specified URLs.
    To deliver images to the web from the database using the PL/SQL gateway and iAS, where the procedures are generated by a wizard, see:
    http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/intermedia/htdocs/descriptions/imedia_code_wizard.html
    You can create a simple servlet (JSPs can not deliver binary data) that delivers database images using java classes. See:
    http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/intermedia/htdocs/descriptions/servlets_jsp.html
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/intermedia/htdocs/intermedia_servlet_jsp_samples/imedia_servlet_jsp_readme.htm

  • How to embed applet in html?

    how do you embed an applet (made using the GUI builder/drag and drop builder) of netbeans correctly?
    I tried it manually but it doesn't work (put the filename.class with the html file and embed it to the html code) but it says that applet failed.
    I also tried running the one netbeans automatically created located at \build folder of the project folder, but it also says applet failed.
    Can someone tell what seems to be the problem? or are there any suggestions or better way to embed an applet to a html file?

  • Signed applet and HTML parameters

    I've created a signed applet and everything works fine, except for the fact that i can't add parameters to the applet.
    Without the parameters in the HTML the applet inits and starts and can be used without problems. But when I add paramaters, the applet reports a "class not found exception".
    I used HTML-converter to convert the applet tag to object/embed tags.
    Has anyone had the same problem or knows what I'm doing wrong? I'd really appreciate some help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Erik

  • Invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML:communication channel modification

    Hello ,
    While delivering an async message from XI to thirdparty, getting an error 'invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML' in the RWB/adapter engine
    I need to modify Module tab for MessageTransformBean / content type as text/html.
    Can anyone tell me how to do this in SOAP communication channel?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Thanks for ur help...
    I've tested with soapUI and it is working fine. When I send the data from soapUI , it is reaching to third party and I get response as 'success' So the url is also fine.
    The same data when XI is sending it is throwing an error.
    One more thing here -- The XI server is in intranet and TP is in DMZ .... there is a firewall in between them...
    1. When I execute thr soapUI (from intranet) it is reaching to TP (DMZ)
    2. When I execute thr XI (intranet) its throwing an error.
    Is this because of firewall settings ?
    Thanks..

  • Resizing Analyzer 7.2 Applets in HTML client

    We're using Analyzer 7.2 here and I'm in the process of rolling out a reporting app. I have created a number of screens using the Java client, but we need to use the HTML for our users. However the HTML applet window is too small for the reports I have deveolped. How to I change the size to fit my reports, in most other applications 've used its just a question of changing the HTML length and width parameters of the applet, but I dont know which is the jsp page that generates the applet and if there are any parameters to set anywhere.CheersPete

    Hi,
    On the client PC include the path to Excel.exe in your %PATH% environment variable and then try to export to excel.

  • Include many jars for a complex signed applet in html file??

    hello
    I'd like to know how it's possible to put a signed applet in an html file, that needs many jar files.
    I explain myself: I know that to create a signed applet and to put it in an html file, I need to create a Jar file that contains this applet, create a private key with keytool, sign the jar and include it in my html file with the tag <applet code="....." archive="......jar".... />
    This works fine if my applet is a simple program that only uses the clases present by default in the jdk.
    In my case, I have a big project, with many packages. In one of these packages, I have my applet that uses some classes of the other packages, which use classes from imported jars, such as BouncyCastle, and others...
    There is still no problem when I run the applet from the applet viewer.
    The problem appears when I put the JAR file with all these classes in the html file: there is a problem since it doesn't know anything of these classes imported from these jars.. It's quite obvious actually.
    My question is: how do I do to make the html file aware of these classes? Is there an html tag that allows us to include many jar files? Do I have to decompress all these jars, take all the directories, add them to the directories of my project and create a BIG jar (that's what I did, but it's really dirty, and heavy! (11M))??
    Does anyone have an idea about how I can do it?
    Thanks for your help
    Philippe

    11 MB is pretty big for an applet.
    Let's say your applet uses java 3d, normally a client would download and
    install this seporately, meaning the jars needed end up in lib/ext directory where
    any applet can find them.
    Check what applets need to be installed (put in lib/ext) and what can be
    downloaded:
    <object .....
    <param name="archive" value="myJar.jar, myOtherjar.jar" />
