AppleTV screensaver in Leopard?

The AppleTV has a great (Core Animation) screensaver which has photos floating in a layered, 3D way, spinning and moving vertically.
Is this available under Leopard or anyone know where I can get it for my macbook? Thanks!

I have the same problem with two new Macs (iMac 24 Alum and MacMini Core2). Interestingly, it works if the ScreenSaver is in "Test" mode. But once the Screen Saver is activiated "for real" the Apple Remote gives me the same problem you have. I predict/hope that this will be resolved in an update soon.

AppleTV Screensaver not working

I recently set up a completely new wireless home network. Finally, after updating router firmware, all of my devices seem to be connecting to the router and communicating with one another except for the Homesharing between my AppleTV (2nd gen) and my computer (MacBook Pro, 2009). I have done everything Apple says to do about a dozen times - I've turned on homesharing on my MacBook and enabled it on AppleTV. I've selected which photo albums I want to appear in the AppleTV screensaver. I've turned all of these functions off, reset AppleTV, rebooted my computer and iTunes, and reset the router. STILL - i seems AppleTV is not recognizing my computer on the network. Can anyone help? I'm ready to tear my hair out here!

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are not able to update the Apple TV with a new update. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

Question on AppleTV Screensaver and Mac Mini

I saw a Apple TV in action and liked it. Decided to buy a mini instead so I could have more use out of it. The mini is my HTPC.
Does anyone know what the screensaver is on the Apple TV and where to download it?
I searched through the screensaver downloads, but since I don't know the name, I can't find it.
The screensaver floats your pictures 15-20 of them up the screen, then it does a 3d rotation of them all and then different pictures come down the screen. I do not know how else to describe it. I basically just want the screensaver from a appletv

Well, I haven't actually seen the Apple TV screen saver, but Leopard has a screen saver that sounds the same. Go under "Pictures" to choose some pictures to use - I use the last twelve months smart folder from my iPhoto library - and then, under the preview of the screen saver, to the bottom left there are three icons. Select the middle one (called "collage" when you hover your mouse pointer over it) to get that screen saver effect.

If you want the photos from your phone to act as the screensaver, you'll need to download them to your mac/PC and select them in the iTunes advanced menu to share to the Apple TV. After they are shared via iTunes you can select the photos you want to use for the screensaver from the Screensaver menu options.

Photo that show up on default AppleTV screensaver

I have had my Apple TV since they first came out when you synced the music, movies and photos. At some point the AppleTV software changed that process to full streaming not syncing. I am now stuck with the photos that were on the AppleTV for it's default screensaver (which I love and keep running with just music playing). I want to change the pictures. Does anyone know how I can do this?

sounds like at some point you broke the link to itunes and re-linked it as a shared library which only allows streaming.
remove any itunes link and re-add it, but this time as a full syncing link.

AppleTV screensaver playing my photos (without sync)

After the Leopard upgrade I found that I can stream photos (vs having to sync them as it was before)- which is great (don't have to constantly update what albums get sync'd, etc.). Trouble now is that I can't find an option to play any of MY photos in screensaver mode (and when music is playing) on the Apple TV, etc (It just plays the "canned Apple stock photos that live on the Apple TV's drive). If I sync the Apple TV to my Mac (and it's iTunes) then I can't stream photos. Ideas?

I found that the only way to stream photos is to choose to sync only a few photos and then disable syncing in iTunes, then for whatever reason, all of my photos are available to stream. Go figure...

Is there a limit to number of photos AppleTV screensaver can display?

Hi, I have a album of 600 photos homeshared in iTunes from iPhoto 09 that the AppleTV sees. However, once the photos start playing only about 20 percent show up, the ones at the beginning of the album and not the ones at the end. Anyone else experience this or can talk about this? Is there a fix? Thanks!

I have the same problem and it seems many others in these forums have a similar problem. Only hope it gets fixed with the next update. Big time dissapointing.

Photo order in appletv screensaver?

Airplay instructions on AppleTV Screensaver

I have turned Airplay off in Settings. When my screensaver for Apple TV activates, A black square keeps appearing with instructions how to access Airplay and I can't get rid of it. Any ideas?

Settings > AirPlay > Conference Room Display > Off.

Random slides in appleTV screensaver

if I use imported slides from iPhoto as screensaver with apple TV2, they are randomly displayed .
Is there a way to make them appear in the original order of the album ?

Worthy Album Artwork Screensaver for Leopard?

Hi, I recently upgraded my macbook to leopard and was unhappy to see that the artwork tower used in a tech demo for Leopard a while ago wasn't included in the final build.
Instead apple inserted a lackluster 2D artwork flipping screen saver that many (including me) see in pink unless we reduce the amount of rows in it. Come on apple! release the itunes tower and show leopards capabilities! Anyone else agree?
If its also so simple to write, why hasn't someone smacked it together in core animation?

Anyone tried AppleTV with Snow Leopard yet ?

Very tempted to go and pick up a copy, but not sure I can be bothered with the potential hassle when my main computer is now reasonably stable.
Chances are the upgrade will just work fine, but you never know with these things, and then there's the potential software conflicts and hardware without compatible drivers.
Anyhow it'll be interesting to see what the new streaming/sleep feature adds...

I have 10.6 I can sync nothing to the ATV. I can buy from the Apple Store, I can access my photos from my web gallery, I can stream my music from Itunes. I can sync nothing, the option to sync does not appear on the summary page. When I attempt to access Iphoto I get a message that there are no photos in my shared library.
I have restarted the ATV several times, I have re-sync it with my computer 4 times. all to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated

High Definition Screensaver Art for AppleTV

I'm looking for high definition images/artwork ready formatted for AppleTV.
Essentially, I'm looking to use the AppleTV screensaver to transform my HDTV into a rotating gallery of great images - great background for my next party.
No sound required.
There used to be a company that did exactly this for Windows PCs and certain TVs (www.galleryplayer.com) but they went out of business a few months ago.
Anybody got any ideas?
I'm prepared to pay for the high quality images - not expecting them for free.

Updates installed; now Screensaver won't use photos from Iphoto

After installing software updates today, I get this message "You cannot use the Iphoto screensaver with this version of Mac OS X. Please contact the vendor to get a newer version of the screen saver."
The only screen saver I have is the one that came with Snow Leopard. Help!

I'm wondering if there's a bug that involves smart albums versus manually created albums.
In addition to using a smart album to find flagged photos from my entire library, I tried adding an item to the smart album that would also show all photos in the latest three Events.
In other words, an album for all flagged photos plus all new photos shot within the last three uploads to iPhoto.
However, the AppleTV screensaver never took any photos from the latest three Events. It just kept finding the same limited set of flagged photos.

Mosaic screensaver not using the right photos

I'm having a problem with the mosaic screensaver in Leopard.
When I choose a folder of pictures for the screensaver, it works fine in slideshow and collage mode.
However, when I choose mosaic mode, it will display the first image in the folder, but will display images in another folder I was using previously all around it as the mosaic.
This happens in the test and the real screensaver as well. Happens with any other folder I choose, and still happens after restarting. Help!

Update: With some experimenting, I've discovered that it makes the correct photos in mosaic form, but the photos used as parts of the mosaic are all from my iPhoto library!
