Application Server Installation is stuck

Hi guys,
I am new to java application server and I am trying to install the 8.0 version in my linux account. When I run in the console the installation command:
./sjsas_pe-8_0_0_01-linux.bin I get the following messages:
Checking available disk space...
Checking Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment...
Extracting Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment files...
Deleting temporary files...
and I wait there for very long....
The same thing happens if I try to install the v.8.1 and the All-in-One bundles.
I would be glad if you could help me on that!

I have exactly the same problem.
I am attempting to install Sun App Server Platform edition 8 on RH linux Fedora Core 3. The installation wizard starts and works quickly up to the point where he reports "deleting temporary files", then he hangs there. I have tried to set "-tmpdir wrk" and then checked that directory to see what was going on. The install had written a file in that directory but nothing then happens. It just hangs.
Now, I have tried to install Sun Studio Enterprise edition, electing to install the bundled app server. The install fails, reporting the app server is corrupted. I have tried installing Sun Studio Creator and it completes but reports a failutre in installing the app server, but the directory "SunAppServer8" does not even get created. Now, the Creator install does create a nice log file reporting the failures.
All of these products fail to install on my system due to failure to be able to install the app server.
What is going on.
Oh, yes ... I have JSE 1.5 installed as my default JVM.

Sun Java System Application Server installation location on windows

Hi there...
I'm just doing the "Your First Cup: An Introduction to the Java EE Platform" tutorial for the first time. I'm trying to add the Sun Java System Application Server in NetBeans IDE. It's asking me to select the Platform Location, and I have no idea where that is. No help instructions I've found say where it normally gets installed, and I've found now mention of it on the web.
Can anyone tell me the location where this is supposed to be located? I HAVE installed the Java EE SDK 5 for Windows. The location it offers as a default is "C:\Program Files\glassfish-v2ur2\", but there is a red message at the bottom of the dialog that reads "Provide a valid Application Server Installation Location for 'Sun Java System App...". The Register Local Default Domain drop-down box has not options to select, either.
I would try and search some more, but I just don't know what to search for. If anyone can offer any insight into this, I appreciate it.

SAP NW 7.0 AS JAVA Application Server Installation in DMZ : Win 2008 SR2

Dear Experts,
We are installing two AS JAVA application servers in DMZ (XYZ domain) and the central instance is running outside DMZ (ABC domain). While trying to give the profile path of the CI, in the application server installation, it says that the path cannot be found. We have opened the following ports 54200,54201,54204,54218,54230,3342,3641,3310,3610,8010,8011, and 25. The installation inside DMZ is run with a user which is part of local administration group. The DB (SQL 2008R2)is running on a different host in a distributed setup.
Could someone please let us know if any other port needs to be open to allow communication between the central instance and application server?

If FileSharing disabled, Firewal is open, unable to do ping test. How does the poor App server can access the Path from CI ?
Please request your network team to open firewal between CI and APP server otherwise, even if you install you might get other below access problems
1). user's in App server can't update CI
2). Jobs in App server might run as expected.

The existing Application Server Installation is corrupted

Well I downloaded the Java Studio Creator and wanted to test it on a Debian GNU/Linux box. See what happened while installing it:

I am having the same problem on a Gentoo installation. At the end of installation I get the error
- The existing application server installation is corrupted I have installed both as root and a normal user.
The ~/sun/Creator2_1/SunAppServer8 directory is empty and I can't use _unist/unistall.bin as it complains about being unable to stop the server.

I've been trying further to get this to install and I have found that it is actually the SJSAS installation that is the problem.
If I try to install SJSAS using any route (bundled with Netbeans, bundled with Creator or on its own) the installation fails.
If I try ot install using the freestanding SJSAS installler I get errors about their being insufficient disk space even though there is plenty of room (250Gig).
But still not much closer to getting it working.

Oracle Application Server 10g thread stuck issue.

We are having,
Oracle Application Server 10g [10.1.3.1 + 10.1.3.4patch] along with Oracle Http Server 2.0
Now there is a issue of thread stuck [some application threads taking longer times] due to which the application server is unable to respond and sometimes it reinits the oc4j instance.
=> Is there any setting to increase the Thread Stuck Time in OAS.
=> Is there any setting to stop the auto reinit of oc4j instance.
=> Does the auto re init of oc4j get logged in opmn.log as well as in service.log.
It will be really helpful if any advice on the same.

Look in httpd.conf file anything that is like thread in there you will find a simple description of the Directives.

Search this forum for answers and discussions.
Basically, your machine will need a "fully qualified hostname" e.g. myhostname.mydomain.com, only myhostname is not enough.
Also, AS does not allow the IP to change after install e.g. no DHCP (dynamically allocated IP) allowed!

CREATOR / APPLICATION SERVER INSTALLATION ERROR

Hi, i have a problem with my JSC since few days. the applications server is sleeping. i re-install JSC2_1 but i have still the same problem. the install.log is trying to tell me something but i couldn't understand it. After installation i have domain.xml and processLauncher.xml with 0 kb size. Unfortunately the appServ couldn't start with this settings. renaming the domain.xml.bak into domain.xml and processLauncher.xml.bakl to processLauncher.xml doesn't help. I searched for a solution for this problem in the forum. But I'm the first lucky guy with this.

Websphere Application Server installation

Hi All,
I downloaded Websphere Application Server 6.0 express trail from IBM recently. I installed it and noticed that there was no auto deploy tool installed. Is it should be downloaded seperately? And according to installation document they are telling to deploy an web application thru' admin console. So, do i need to build ant etc.. like Tomcat or What to do?( I mean do i need to generate the war file on my own)

Not sure why you don't have a deploytool. Maybe you missed something in the application.
Yeah, but you could always create a WAR using ANT. Personally, I prefer it.

Oracle 10g Application Server Installation Error

Hi Everyone!
This is my first time to install Ora10g Apps Server and I encountered an error at 2 assistant configuration point.
By the way, I'm installing it in a Windows Server 2003.
I encountered the first road block at Oracle Database Configuration Assistant. An error msg showed that
there was an Error updating the necessary configuration files and I can manually configure this by
running \OraHome_1\bin\emca script.
I clicked Ok and the status showed Succeeded.
The 2nd error showed at the Application Server Control Configuration Assistant.
I checked the log file...
Unable to determine local host from URL EMD_URL=http://srvs058:%EM_SERVLET_PORT%/emd/main/
Hope anyone can help me with this.
I've tried deinstalling/installing thrice now and still get stuck at this.

No Sun application server installes

I've installed java sun studio creator but because of i've to use a proxy to go in internet, installation program didn't install the application server. Someone knows flags or parameter that i've to use to indicate to the installation program the proxy and his port

10g Application Server installation

Hi Gurus,
I have a server with Sunsolaris Operating system and planning to install 10g App Server.
I have a x-windows on it.
My question is, can i install 10g Application server like windows installation ? or still i have to follow the
sunsolaris installation instructions ?

Defineitely follow the Solaris specfic instructions. There are patches, packages and kernel parameters that must be configured properly on Solaris, before installing 10gAS. The OUI portion though is the same as on Windows, it's the pre- and post- that is different.

JSP newbie: local Sun Java System Application Server installation

I am new to JSP and I am preparing to get the software I need. JDK 6 and Netbeans 6 are installed. Now I need an application server. Since the Sun tutorials use the "Sun Java System Application Server" I have choosen this one (version 9.1). As far as I know I could also use, e.g., Tomcat or Glassfish (correct?).
I just would like to install the application server for learning JSP.
Could I safely install the Sun Java System Application Server on my PC so that the application server only listens to local calls? Does it use a lot of system ressources while idle?

i have to install an additional Application Server for our BW dev. system.
Actually, we run BW on iSeries (app. + db. server).
Are there any important thinks or issues, i have to know?
Is somewhere a step-by-step introdution or how-to?

Hi,
after a huge Problems, i was able to install the Application Server,
but it wouldn't start up.
At SAPInst Phase "Install instance basis" the SAP Service doesn't start.
Log Browser show errors like
Execution of command "C:\usr\sap\.......
finished with return code -1. Service not started.
On the Windows EventViewer are these errors
The description for EventID (0) Source (SAP???_??) cannot be found. The local
computer may not have the nessesary registry information or message DLL files to display
messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE=flag
to retrieve the description. See Help and Support for details. The following information is
part of the event:
Cannot open Profile on
<SAPHOST>\sapmnt\<SID>\SYS\profile\START_D<instance>_<localhost>
<..> are correct Values in error message. How ever, the Service is installed with user SAPSe<SID>.
Currently, i'm logged on as <SID>adm. I can map these path via Explorer.exe without any logon promts.
I can see and open the file. I added the User SAPSe<SID> to the folder and file permissions and
gave all rights, but it doesn't work.
Any ideas?

hi,
for forms and reports purpose you can download standalone oracle forms and reports (version 10.1.2.0.2) component.
If you want to upgrade it you can upgrade it to 10.1.2.3.0.

i'll recommend you to use oracle fusion middleware 11g forms, reports,portal and discoverer component.

SAP Pilot Application Server Installation

Hi guys,
Can anyone help me out, I am new to SAP strategy management 2007 and I have just tried installing it. But I dont I think it works because when I tried and login to PAS I get an erro: Illegal Login. does anyone know what this is? does one need netweaver to run pilot?

If you correctly installed SSM 2007, you should be able to log into PAS with the default user and password.
The default is
User: Admin
Password: no password needed, just leave blank.
Server: leave blank as well
This should get you in. If not, the security settings have been changed and you need to contact who did that for access.
SSM 2007 uses jBoss as the application server, not Netweaver. Starting with SSM 7.0, Netweaver CE is the app servers, as well as handles security and other functions.
