Apply Photo Settings for Complete Album

Using Photo Settings for Burns Effect, Pan, and Duration, the settings seem to apply to the first number of Photos, but not throughout the whole album (which is what I've down loaded from iPhoto for a new slide-show on iMovie.

Make your photo settings on the first photo and then all the others subsequently imported will have the same setting. I would keep your batch imports to 50 photos or less. If you try to import 500 photos at one time you likely will overwhelm the program.

  • How do I apply programmatic skins for completely custom drawn components of a Flex library project?

    Hello folks,
I am looking for best practices advice when (1) creating
custom components and (2) styling and skinning.
I already know how to skin a component part of the Flex
framework. I can make a class extending ProgrammaticSkin and have
my component skinned using CSS to link the component with the
    reference to my custom class.
However what about those cases when you are completely
    creating a component from scratch?
Imagine a "Freehand Drawing Canvas" component that allows the
user to draw on it and has some buttons to set color styles, line
styles, etc., or imagine a "Screen Flow Gallery" component that
displays visual objects in a fashion similar to Cover Flow in the
    Mac.
In many components I am aware you may reuse other components
part of the Flex framework but I am trying to picture an scenario
where you would need to draw everything yourself because there just
isn't something to base it upon so you will end up drawing it from
    scratch.
To learn how instead of building one of those components I
mentioned previously I decided to start with something simple that
would illustrate this like a LiteButton component that will behave
just like the Flex mx.controls.Button but will extend UIComponent
    and be completely custom drawn.
The component will have a default look and will also be
style-able and skin-able. I will provide styles for users of the
component to modify and regarding skinning anyone can create a
custom ProgrammaticSkin adding its own drawing logic and link it to
the component via CSS with the ClassReference applied to the skin
    selector.
So far so good and it's clear what I want to achieve. I
actually know how to do most of the stuff here but I have one
    single problem.
Here is my question, where should I put my custom drawing
logic? If I do it in the updateDisplayList inside the class
extending UIComponent it works, however I thought that it would be
a better practice to do it using programmatic skins, that way I
could provide different skin themes for my component set.
The problem is that I can't make the programmatic work in
this scenario. I tried instantiating the custom programmatic skin
during the updateDisplayList of the LiteButton component and adding
it to my display object via addChild but that didn't do anything. I
also tried creating a "default.css" stylesheet and tried to use
ClassReference as I would normally do to skin an already existing
component (or composite component as well) but that didn't do
    anything either.
So how do I apply programmatic skins for completely custom
drawn components of my Flex library project?
I could do it inside the updateDisplayList of the LiteButton
class extending UIComponent but again I would like to provide
different theme sets for my components so it makes sense using
    programmatic skins.

These aren't mutually exclusive. When you provide a skin with
    a
TypeSelector, you have to add it to the display list
    somewhere, and this is
typically done in updateDisplayList or addChildren. I prefer
    to do it in
updateDisplayList, because you can then change it if the
    style changes.

    Exactly what did you do?

I've never had any problem using an approach similar to
    this...but I will
say that I couldn't see any advantage in creating a
    default.css style sheet,
since it's not really default in the way that the one that
    comes with Flex
is. It's much more obvious to anyone using your component
    what's going on
there if you create a style sheet where they're likely to
    spot it.
    > So how do I apply programmatic skins with the default

It seems like your approach is fine, but maybe you've made a
    mistake in your
    implementation.

You might want to consider also adding an instance of
    HaloBorder to your
component. That brings a lot of functionality with it.

Below is a small excerpt of where it appears my long wait is coming from, although correct me if i'm wrong but the problem could be somewhere else and it just so happens that it's at this of the boot process that it's brought to light due to a dependency

  • HT1879 how do i search for complete albums?

I have an ipod shuffle and want to purchase complete albums (or better yet, find ones that are in the public domain!). I would appreciate any tips from users experienced in this issue.
    Thanks, Yaron

Photo albums are not searched by Spotlight Search.  Go to Settings > General > Spotlight Search to see and reorder the available search items.

  • Wrong number of photos listed for an album in Web Gallery

    Howdy,
I've tried resynching my Web Galleries and it hasn't solved this problem. The number of photos listed for any particular Album appears wrong. For example, two albums contain 3 photos, but it says there are "4 photos." One with 14 photos says it has 22, and and another Album with 31 photos says it has 62. I can't think of a mathematical expression that describes the incorrect reporting.
However, the using the mouse to preview the Web Albums shows thumbnails of all of the correct photos, the slider in carosel mode shows the correct position, and everything appears to be working otherwiser perfectly.
    Thanks!

This sounds like a problem that you can recreate by dragging photos to an weg gallery album WHILE the Web Gallery album is syncing to the web - try exporting on of the albums and I suspect you will get the 4 photos - If this is the case, The best way I have found to fix this is to export the photos, delete the web gallery, go to your iDisk (iDisk ==> web ==> sites ==> _gallery) and be sure it is gone (Deleting it there too if necessary) and then recreating the web gallery (you may want to move the photos to a local album for ease of finding them for the new gallery)
Web Galleries still have some issues

  • View Photos Manually for MobileMe Album

    Hi All.
I was given a nice suggestion about how I can order my images in an Album Manually before posting to MobileMe so that they show up in some kind of coherent order.
Is this simply to go into the Photos view, get into the Album that I wish to order images within, and do View > Sort Photos > Manually?
I am trying this and it appears that the Album titles disappear and I get a display of /all/ my photos instead of simply the ones that I wish to order for the Album I am going to be posting. I can't order all my images because there are way too many.
If I go into Events view and open and Album it won't let me select "Manually" as it is greyed out.
Is there a good way for me to display images in some kind of coherent order in MobileMe?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

Is this simply to go into the Photos view, get into the Album that I wish to order images within, and do View > Sort Photos > Manually?
    No.
The trick is to create an Album (File -> New Album) add the pics you want to upload to that Album (Drag and drop them from the Library to the Album in the Sidebar) and then order them as you want. Then upload that Album to MM

  • Changing settings for Mobile Albums?

How do I change my setting for mobile albums from all of my photos to specific photos I select?  I initially set up by selecting all photos but want to change this. I do not want all of my photos in Elements to feel to my phone, but I do want all the photos I take on my phone to feed to my mobile library in Elements.  Any suggestions?

  • I can delete all photos except for one album where no trash can appears. How can I get rid of the album?

I have an album of photos on my IPAD that I can not delete. It was imported from a camera card. I have managed to delete all other photos taken the same way but these appear to be stuck on the IPAD as no trash can icon appears. Also, my other photos appear in the imported folder and also albums. The photos in the album that won't delete only appear in that album?

  • Steps to apply Proxy settings for all Server in a specific OU using Group Policy ?

    People,
I have several terminal server (2008 R2) running as RDSH in an OU called Terminal Servers.
So how can I create the GPO setting to make sure that everyone who login to this terminal server will be getting the proxy settings automatically to proxy.domain.com on port 3128 ?
I've created the GP object and then link it directly to the Terminal Servers OU using the following options:
User Configuration (Enabled) > Policies > Windows Settings > Internet Explorer Maintenance >
Connection/Proxy Settings > Enable proxy settings
But somehow when I login as myself and DOMAIN\Administrator the proxy settings in the IE11 is still unchecked with the old Proxy value and sometimes blank in some servers.

User policies apply to user objects - the servers will ignore them, and
as long as there is no user in your terminal servers OU, no one will get
    this setting.
Link your policy to the OUs where the users are, then use item level
targeting to filter for a security group you create for this purpose,
and add all your terminal servers to this group. Don't forget to reboot
the servers after changing group memberships...

  • Smart Settings for Smart Album

I have created a Smart Album to gather all my RAW images. These constitute about half of my 1900-image library.
For some reason, only 30+ images show in the Smart Album
I configured the Smart Settings HUD as follows:
    Source = Library
Search Criteria = Any (of the following specifications)
    Text = .NEF
    File Type = RAW
So, where did I go wrong?

To find all your raw images, the following shoud suffice:
    Source = Library
Search Criteria = Any (of the following specifications)
    File Type = RAW
The text rule is unnecessary, and if you are looking for a specific raw format, it will be quicker to use the the rule
    File Type = RAW
    Aperture: Filename includes NEF
That will be quicker, because not all text will be searched.
But your own rule should work. Have you checked, if you have any additional filters set in the search fields of the Browser and Inspector?

  • Photo settings for the web

I wish to find the best setting for editing photos to be published to the web.  I previously had cs3 and had no problems, but now I have cs6 and have noticed that the pictures lose color saturation and just plain look faded when I upload them to my website.  I have been all over the internet looking for information and have made some changes according to what I have found, but the photos still look the same on the web.  Can someone please help?  Thank you.

Ok I just found the place to change the information on the google chrome settings but still not any different.  I guess I am expecting my pictures to look exactly how they look in photoshop when I post them to my web page.  I have always just saved my photos.  I have made all my settings in CS6 to sRGB and I thought that would fix the problem but its not.  Is there anything else I am missing?  Can you believe, all of this over one stinking photo because I am a perfectionist.  I am trying to get my photoshop settings perfect (at least the way they were in cs3), when I should be in my studio designing jewelry.  LOL!

  • Takes up to 5 min "Applying User Settings" with events ID 6005 6006 after a reboot - Win Server 2008 R2 Standard 64bit

    Hi,
Has anybody seen the issue below showing in the logs? The time for the logs messages switch from the real time (17:57) to some random time (10:55). There seem to be a disconnect with the time. I noticed right when the status message while logging in switches
to "apply user settings", the time get screwed up on the gpsvc.log file and switches to the random time (10:55) and keeps reporting that random time till "apply user settings" process completes and switches back to regular real time (17:57).
I made sure the server is synced up with w32tm /resync command. Tried different DNS settings. Tried dis joining and rejoining to the domain. tried to block inheritance on GPMC to that OU. Created new domain user. Deleted local profiles. All with no luck and
same behavior which is taking up to 5 min "applying user setting" only after a reboot. If I log in and out without reboot, it would log in just fine within seconds.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!

The numbers in parenthesis are PID.TID of gpsvc.exe. So we see a thread
change, and this usually indicates that a different logon process has
begun. Could you try to map this log entries to events in the group
    policy event log?
But to be honest: No, I've never seen such a behavior in gpsvc.log :(
I'm almost sure that a service is responsible, but how to identify it -
I don't know. There's no auditing for system time changes, AFAIK.

  • Server stucks at Applying Computer Settings after every reboot

    Hello!
On one of our sites containing around 15 servers, whenever a terminal server is rebooted, it gets stuck on Applying Computer Settings for around 15 minutes. If it is un-joined from the domain then no issue. Moreover, once it is done with this delay, no time
delay is observed in user login. But after every reboot, 15 - 20 mins delay is always observed. Domain is the same at other sites and no issue is being observed else where.
    OS: MS Windows Server 2008R2
    Help Required

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server forum.
In addition, for a test please try to modify the behavior of HTTP.SYS to depend on another service being started first. To do this, perform the following steps:
    1. Open Registry Editor
    2. Navigate to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP and create the following Multi-string value:
    DependOnService
    3.  Double click the new DependOnService entry
    4. Type CRYPTSVC in the Value Data field and click OK.
    5. Reboot the server
NOTE: Please ensure that you make a backup of the registry / affected keys before making any changes to your system.
    More information.

    Hope it helps!

  • Lack of settings for photo slideshows

I've got to the stage of extreme frustration now trying to change the way that Front Row displays photos from iPhoto events (basically any photos in iPhoto).
When I use the remote to envoke Front Row, select photos and select an event, Front row uses Ken Burns and a cube transition set to about 1 second delay. Frankly the whole experience makes me a little sea sick. I've looked at the settings accessed by the remote but there's nothing there. I've applied some slideshow settings to the event and played it in iPhoto and it works fine...it just doesn't uses these settings when the event is played in Front Row.
However, if I set up an actual slideshow in iPhoto the settings are carried over to Front Row.
This is extremely frustrating as it means that I can't simply trawl through my photo collection at random, sans Ken Burns, cube settings and a general feeling of nausea . I have to set up a bespoke slideshow each time I want to view photos in Front Row. Clearly the settings can be carried over, it just seems that Apple haven't got around to providing access to custom settings for Events....or am I missing something.
    Any thoughts?
    Regards Mr B

I'm running iLife '09 and I have noticed that with photos/Events...
However, if I create an Album, I can assign custom music, themes or no theme like Ken Burns, the duration of the photo and several other settings.
Try creating an album with all the settings you prefer and then open up Front Row.
Mine works just fine for albums.
