Apply Policy On a Dynamic PDF

Hi,
I want to apply a policy on a pdf document. I have created a policy through admin ui.
When i am invoking the process following exception occurs:--

  • Save dynamic PDF as flattened or read only

I finished filling a form, which is a dynamic PDF. Now that I'm done filling it out, I want to save it as a regular PDF, where the fields cannot be edited, and anyone can open it without needing a special version of adobe (basically just a regular PDF viewer), since it's easier to email, and anyone can open it without a problem. Can this be done?
I have a MacBook Pro, with Yosemite OS.
    Thanks guys

Do you understand what "flattening" a PDF does?
It converts fields and annotations content into the context of the PDF and removes the form fields and annotations and they cannot be recovered to their original objects.
I would look at making the fields read only and using a digital signature to disclose if the PDF has been changed after the signature has been applied.

  • Tagged PDF, Visual Studio and Dynamic PDF

I am a noob with the Indesign but I have hands on experience with the Photoshop and Illustrator.
I am trying to create a tagged pdf form which will be used as a receipt after the web application is complete and the information are entered into that tagged pdf using Dynamic PDF.
I created the form with information like
    Name     Textbox
    Address Textbox and so forth.
Dynamic pdf just prints the data and it doesn't matter if its textbox or not.
So, any suggestions on how to tag the pdf properly so that it read all the information in the form along with the information printed by the dynamic pdf?
I am using cloud indesign cc.

    Hi,
Please follow the following steps to tag pdf manually-
    1. Choose Window > Utilities > Tags to display the Tags panel.
    2. Choose View > Structure > Show Structure to display the Structure pane, to the left of the Document window.
    3. Choose Add Untagged Items from the Structure pane menu.
    4. Select a page item in the document.
    5. Select a tag in the Tags panel.
Note the following suggested uses for certain imported tags:
Artifact : The Artifact tag lets you hide page items, such as page numbers or unimportant objects, when viewing the exported
PDF file in Reflow view, which displays only tagged items; see your Adobe Acrobat documentation. This is especially useful for
viewing PDF files on a handheld device or in other PDF readers.
Cell : Use this tag for table cells.
Figure : Use this tag for placed graphics. The Figure tag is applied to all untagged graphics placed in your document when you
    choose Add Untagged Items.
Paragraph tags (P, H, H1–H6) : These tags have no effect on the exported PDF text when viewed in Reflow view. However,
they can be useful in some situations when exporting a PDF file to HTML format.
Story : Use this tag for stories. The Story tag is applied to all untagged text frames when you choose Add Untagged Items. For
example, suppose you have an InDesign document formatted with three paragraph styles: Head1, Head2, and Body. First,
map these paragraph styles to the H1, H2, and P tags, respectively. Next, export to PDF. Finally, when you export the PDF
document to HTML or XML in Acrobat, the paragraphs tagged as H1, H2, and P will display appropriately (such as with large
bold letters in H1) in a web browser.
i hope this will help you, in case not then let me know.

  • Java Library for dynamic PDF form creation similar to LiveCycle Designer

    Hi
    I have a requirement as below :
Requirement :  I need to create a dynamic PDF form with a barcode of type PDF417. Where a user can fill the form offline and after click on some button it will save the form offline and generate a barcode in the same PDF. Later on usaer can take a printout or send the saved pdf as it is.
Currently I am able to create such pdf from using LiveCycle Designer. But I need to create it manually using designer and then need to apply Reader Extension on it using livecycle server.
I want to do this programatically. I would like to create a similar form using some Java Library.
Is it possible to create it dynamicaly(using programs)? how ?
Does any one know how to acheive this ?
Can anyone help me please ?
Thank you very much in advance.

I heard about LiveCycle ES3 server and was wondering if it could be of any use in my scenario. Can some one explain how to use jar files in standalone application .  I explored the  livecycle forms api but could not figure out how it may be used ?

  • Dynamic PDF - export into Word Doc

Well... signed up to IX-PRO for a year.,
    1. Now I cannot open in PRO the Dynamic PDF...?
        in READER it opens well
    2. Conform website suggestion I signed up & installed LC Designer
(advised to upgrade for Exporting my dynamic pdf test doc. to Word)
    3. I also installed  as well as accessed through FORM central
End result: "FormsCentral does not support importing dynamic PDF forms created by LiveCycle Designer".
+ PRO does still not open my dynamic PDF - so only my READER opens the doc / the content.- (as did the free version...)
    Question
    a. How to open a dynamic PDF in PRO (so a PDF doc. that is used as template and includes Macro's )
    b. How to convert / export such dynamic PDF's - into WORD ?
    Thnx in advance

    Hi George
    Thnx  for your prompt input.
    FYI:
As we edit / review project doc's with multiple (ca. 4 to 10) authors - I want to learn how to export:
fixed text, text box content, and graphics - from received dynamic pdf  forms>  into MS Word, o boost elaborations efficiency
I took a Adobe Pro version - imagining that finally I could avoid the cutting and pasting..., a practice already possible with the free Reader version. :-)
    FEEDBACK
I tried your suggestion to save the doc as a regular PDF, however once again the same outcome:
the DOC content is not reproduced = one page with the text as in image above..
Opening the doc. in LC explains most likely:
    1. Aobe LiveCycle Designer - Pop's up: [Cannot find "....\ Schema\schema.xsd*. Check that the path is correct ] {??"why""??}
    OK
    2. Aobe LiveCycle Designer - Pop's up: [Some usage rights have been applied to the form you want to open
Opening the form will remove the usage rights.. Do you want to continue]
    YES
    3. >> Doc Opens - Design View - but same outcome the DOC content is not reproduced
= one page with the text as in image above....
    --- >
= We would be happy if somebody (preferably staff from Adobe) could check the doc.
I will create (asap..) a test doc. and e-mail them the link.
Any suggestion where to address to ?
    Best regards
    Johannes

  • Apply policy to documents (doc, docx...)

    Hello everyone,
we are using LiveCycle Rights Management web service and we have discovered a plugin for MS Office called RightsManagement Plugin for MS-Office.
We are wondering if there is any way to apply policy to office documents using live cycle (by web service).
I have searched in the documentation/forums and have only seen stuffs like "applying policy to pdf documents", nothing about office documents.
I have also tried if the web service would also apply a policy over a docx file but of course it has returned me an exception "not a pdf document".
    So here are my questions:
is there a way to apply policy to office documents using live cycle (web service or java API)?
    if yes, how ?
    Thanks for your help
    Antoine
    BTW: lc_version: 8.2.1

The current version of LiveCycle (8.2) only allows the application of policies on PDFs.  You can apply policies to Office documents using the Office plugin, but it must be done at the client end.
From what I understand, the next version of LiveCycle (currently in public Beta) will address this.

  • I can't get my Dynamic PDF Widget to work in Captivate 7

    Hello all,
I've been trying to get my Dynamic PDF to work in my Captivate 7 project. I have created a button on the final slide where I want the user to open the PDF, I have named it correctly to correspond with the Dynamic PDF. I have also updated everything within the editor to appear how I would like it to appear. I have also tried viewing it in various formats such as Published, In a Browser etc. and nothing appears to work for me.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
Please make sure that the pdf is also saved in the same published folder .
Also test the behavior in other browsers as well like Chrome and Firefox .
If you still face this issue then try to add the published output in trusted location of Flash.

  • Reader XI "save" button creates "save as"-dialog in a dynamic PDF

I made a dynamic PDF with LCD ES4. Sometimes it occurs that a "save as"-dialog appears though I pushed the "save"-button. I am using Reader XI 11.0.07 on a Windows 7 Pro system. Suggestions?

This don't seems to be a problem of the form.
It's more likely that Readers save operation fails because the file is used by another process (Exploerers preview pane for example) or there are no rights to save into the current directory.

  • How to make dynamic PDF form flowable across 2 pages in LiveCycle?

I have a dynamic PDF form that is flowable on each page but not both. By that I mean that the fields on the 2nd page won't move to the 1st page if there is available space. How can I make the entire document flowable? I am using Adobe LiveCycle ES2 Designer to create the form. Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
you need just one page which is flowable and allows page breaks.

  • Dynamic pdf created in adobe 8 not working in Adobe reader 9

    Hi ,
I designed dynamic pdf using Adobe 8 livecylce.
I am able to generate the dynamic pdf with values filled in from the database in Adobe 8 reader, standard and professional versions.
I recently installed Adobe 9 reader and when I try to generate the dynamic pdf , the pdf if generated but the values of the fields comes as null.
Is dynamic pdfs created in 8 not compatable with adobe 9 reader? Do I need to redesign the documents in 9 again ?
Please let me know, I designed a lot of pdf documents using 8 livecycle under the assumption that it is going to work in future versions.
    Thanks,
    Vidya

    Hi,
I figured our there was a setting to enable/disable  Javascript which caused this issue.
I was using javascript in the LC 8 for manipulations in the dynamic pdfs.
I enabled the javascript and now it is working fine.
    Thanks,
    Vidya

  • Adobe Reader XI - dynamic PDF Form and the E-Mail Dialog

    Hi Community,
I have a dynamic PDF Form and we use the E-Mail function to save the XML-Data to local harddrive. That works until Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.2. But with the Adobe Reader XI (11.0.4) the E-Mail Dialog has changed so I am One is forced to send the XML file with Outlook or the internal mailer and has no option to save the file locally.
Does anyone know a workaround or something similar. The Live Cycle server with PDF extension is too expensive for our small project.
    E-Mail Dialog (10.1.2)
If you choose Internet-E-Mail you get a Save-As File Dialog
    E-Mail Dialog (11.0.4)
There is no way to save the XML-Data to local Harddrive.

    Hi Pat,
Are you using Adobe Reader XI? And not Acrobat. It does not ask me to save the form if there are unsaved changes.
I have used previous versions of reader for saving this form data and it did allow me to save it with ctrl+s. And those versions did prompt me to save the changes before closing.
I guess I should not have updated the reader.

  • Dynamic PDF document. (adding pages in between from time to time)

    hi,
I am working on a catalogue that will be expanded from time to time.
On this catalogue there will be a couple of content pages that have hyperlinks link to the proper pages. If I add pages at the end of the this catalogue, hyperlinks will not get affected.
However, if I want to include pages inbetween this will bring the whole content page refering to the wrong pages. For example: on content page; apple - page 10 goes to page 10.
If you add 5 more pages after for example page 5. Now, on content page; apple - page 10 still goes to page 10, but should in fact goes to page15.
So the question is, is there ways where the links automatically goes to the right pages; Where the links automatically changes to refer page 15?
I hope someone can help me.
    Thanks.

    Hi All,
Thanks for responding. I am new here.
Let me explain how I did my hyperlinks.
I create hyperlink destinations and on the index page I look up this page. As I understand this is not the best method in my case, however, this was not the requirement before.
What do you think is the best method for creating a dynamic pdf exported from indesign, which should have (or closely have) the following requirements:
have index page which will go to the proper page (eg. you click on "apple page10" on index page and this will go to page 10)
you can add pages in between anywhere in the future where links and page numbering on the index page changes automatically (eg. if you add 5 more page about pear after page 5, "apple page 10" should now go to page 15 and on the index page should automatically changed to page 15 as well.
of course, changes should automatically be adjusted not only by adding but also by deleting.
Any ideas is welcom and appreciated, thanks.
