Applying a role

I've been searching through the javadoc... but haven't found anything yet.
Is there a built-in way of applying a Role to an in-memory view before committing?
I have a role that adds resources and default Role Attributes. I have a workflow where the caller selects the role in one manual action (form), and then it transitions to another manual action (form) linked to the user view where I would like the default Role Attribute values to be populated for the user (and editable) before the view is committed and the user is provisioned.
I have done this manually for one attribute by opening up the role and navigating through the object to get the default values, but it is a lot of code and iterating. There must be a method I can invoke to process/expand the role into my view :)

  • After applying SP15 Roles Tab doesn't work

    Hi,
I just finished an EP 6.0 6.40 installation and applied SP15, and I am facing a problem. when I click on roles I get an IE error which is : Inernet explorer cannot open the site http://hostname:50000/irj/portal. I checked the other postings and people say they resolved this problem with SP15. Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Serkan

    Serkan,
You upgraded from SP09 to SP15? NW2004s merges Roles into an Identity management tab/content. I'll check for you if there is a fix. Can you actually post the error message and find out if there is a specific entry on default.trc?
    Thanks.

    Hi Suraj,
Please refer to this link & apply the role/s as per the requirements for the web service user:

  • Setting up a Role to Restrict SQVI by user (on field BUKRS table KNC3)

    Hi Everyone!
I am trying to get my basis team to give me access to SQVI - but they want to restrict the financial data I have access to by company code (9000 in our company). The authorisation checking for SQVI is not straightforward apparently. It depends on the data source of the view created. If it is logical database, then the authorisation follows the access required for the database (e.g. system will check for vendor access if data source is the logical database “Vendor Database”). But if the source is table or table join, then system will check for table access right, which, in our environment, is unristricted.
So, in essensce, we do not restrict access rights by table and I will be using SQVI to directly query many tables... which will include tables that store data other than info relating to my company code
I have tried applying a role in our Q&A, where in Authorizations (change authorization data) I pass in a variable on the field and table (field name BUKRS '9000' - master table KNC3) for a role assigned to a test user (zSQVI) but this is not restricting the data I can access via SQVI when logged in as zSQVI.
Has anyone had this problem before? Does anyone know how to restrict SQVI access by a field variable using roles?
    Kind Regards,
    Gavin

It's not possible to restrict SQVI to this level as it doesn't contain authorisation checks at the organisational level.  You can achieve this by using Infoset Query / Ad-hoc query where you have the option to apply your own code to the query, thus allowing you to check the company code.

  • Programatically creating users, roles and insert them into Jazn xml

    Hi All,
I am using ADF 11G and ADF BC to develop my application. Whenever a user is created an entry will go into OID and into DB. Admin will apply the roles and users for that roles through application. Once the administrator assigns the roles, the user need to see the appropriate menus based on the roles assigned.
If I use ADFSecurity, then I need to redeploy the application each and everytime an user is created and a role assigned to it. But I have to avoid the redeployment step. When ever admin assigns a role while approving the user, the same should be reflected in Jazn, so that I can use the securityContext to generate menus dynamcally.
Is there a way to do programatically the below:
    1. Creating roles
    2. Assigining Users
I want to use the functionality of ADFSecurity but programatically.
    Any information/links/guidance is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Morgan.

    Morgan,
You can configure WLS to use OID instead of jaxn.xml file.
[url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e10043/toc.htm]The security guide should be good reading for you.

Has anyone seen this type of message before?
I am concerned that the apply processes may stop and not restart.
    Thanks in advance.

this just shows the status of an apply process. You need to find the reason why the apply process stoped. For that you can query the dab_apply_errors view and find out the reason, based on that you can take the action.

  • Role based access controle

We tried to apply new roles definition to AP module.
For example, we defined a role which allowed to see the suppliers created by the owner.
It seems that the role definition have any effects on AP module.
We successfuly created roles undo FND and CES.
1- Is it true to say that the role feature does not cover all EBS module?
2- On which modules the role have an effect?
    Regards
    JC

I do not believe Oracle publishes which modules are (or are not) RBAC aware - for the modules that your are using or are interested in, you will have to read thru the Implementation and User Guides to see if the modules use RBAC.

  • Applying FDM security at group level

    Hi Folks
Does anyone know if there is a way in 11.1.1.3 to apply FDM roles at a group level in FDM? I can apply the roles in Shared Services, but when I go into FDM User Maintenance it appears that the roles have to be applied at an individual user level for usernames to appear. Is there a way around this?

It is something that I & others have mentioned at the CAB meetings. We will continue to push for it.

  • Assign roles to SSO integrated users

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to assign roles to SSO users but I can't. I achieved it with local and LDAP users, but not for SSO users (I want to use my AD users but without LDAP config)
My platform is vCenter 5.5 U1 for SSO, vCAC appliance + IaaS server, and vCAD appliance. When you register your vCAD with vCAC you can use SSO integrated authentication of vCAC. But, how can I assign roles to SSO users?
I can access to vCAD with AD users through SSO integrated authentication but all options are read-only.
    Best regards,
    Jose Luis Gomez

    Hello everyone,
    Auto-response.
When you've registered your vCAD with vCAC, new roles appears in vCAC. This roles are:
    Application Architect
    Application Catalog Administrator
    Application Cloud Administrator
    Application Publisher And Deployer
    Application System Administrator
You can apply this roles to users or groups but always from vCAC --> Administration --> Groups/Users

I should add that the source server's AD configuration might not be perfect due to this being the second attempt at a SBS 2011 migration install.
I'd be grateful for any help I can get on this as SBS migration has been plauged with multiple setbacks already. I really need to get this done! ;)
    Thanks,
    Voon

Thank you Larry and Al for your replies.
    I used the 'official' migration
    guide plus this page (http://www.techieshelp.com/step-by-step-guide-to-migrating-to-sbs-2011/)
as my migration references. The SBS migration prep tool gave no errors on the source server when I ran it.
I have a full system drive image plus a a system state backup from before migration. Though I am very loathed to rollback the migration and attempt a new one - again. I will do some searching to see if I can resolve the Exchange server problem and continue
the migration/installation. If not, then its a system state restore for me. One of Al's links had a resource for doing a thorough check of AD - which something I'd run if I have to another migration attempt.
I am also really tempted to open up a paid MS support ticket for them to help me fix this problem. :)

  • File deployment error

    Hi
As we are deploying a CRE application, the application is deployed successfully but it throws some warning. There are two application on one of the servers. I guess this might be because of the application on same server causing intervention between the connection of the libaries. Can you please suggest what can be done in this scenario.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Exchange Server 2013 setup / coexistance Exchange 2010

So started setting up Exchange 2013 and ran into a random issue regarding the OAB. Resolved by deleting/recreating the OAB in Exchange 2010.
My issue now is setup will not complete, just tells me an "Incomplete Installation Detected" starts to resume the installation.   Upon "next" I receive just a hanging screen of "Setup Progress" which goes no where.

    Hi,
    Let's try the following resolutions:
    1. Check if the discovery SearchMailbox is present on Exchange 2010 when you run the Exchange 2013 Install.
    2. Reinstall your Exchange 2013 server:
    Open ADSIEDIT, CN=Configuration, DC=your domain ->CN=Services ->CN=Microsoft Exchange ->CN=First Organization ->CN=Administrative Groups ->Cn=Exchange Administrative Group ->CN=Servers ->CN=Server name
After remove the exchange server, please reinstall your exchange server to test the result.
    Thanks,

  • Exception in servermgr_accounts when creating open directory master...

Just to give you some background, I'm new to Mac Os X Server. And I'm trying to get a mail/ical/web-server with "open directory" setup. The server is placed in a remote location, behind a NAT-firewall.
I thought I hade everything setup, took a while to figure out the DNS-configs. But I managed to get everything working, and apply the server through a NetworkAccountServer on a client.
When I wanted to setup some e-mail aliases for my e-mail accounts, I remembered I hade seen that in "Server Preferences".
But when opening "Server Preferences" i got the following message:
"Multiple errors occurred on the server while processing commands. Use the Console application to view the error messages.", I could access everything accept Users and Groups, when clicking these it tried to create a new open directory.
The Console App shows this Message:

I tried reseting the "Open Directory Service" in "Server Admin", by setting it to "standalone directory".
It did stop the "Open directory", but the console was again showing the message above.
With the server in stand-alone mode, I could access "Server Preferences" again, but as soon as I create an "Open Directory again", it fails with the above error, and I cant access the Open Directory from Server Preferences.
To summarize, the message shows when:
    1. Creating an Open Directory Master.
    2. Removing a Open Directory Master.
    3. Entering Server Preferences with Open Directory Master running.
A wierd thing is that the "Open directory" seems to be fine. I can manage it in "Workgroup manager", login to webmail, calenders, VPN etc. I just can't manage it from "Server Preferences".
I did make som misstakes in the beginning (primarly not setting a proper host-name before creating the first "Open Directory", and also having a local-user with the same short-name as a user in the "Open Directory") But that should all solved now.
Any Idea's on what could be wrong?
Where else can I set e-mail aliases for my "Open Directory" users? Is it possible for them to administer aliases themselves?
    Thanks in advance!
PS. Anyone have any tips on mail-forwarding to multiple external accounts? Do I really need to edit this manually in /etc/postfix/aliases? Is there anyway I can let my users administer forwarding?

If anyone else has similar issues, I didn't find a solution. Re-installed the server from scratch...
