Applying different GPOs based on extensionattribute1

Hello,
I would like to make use of the extensionattribute fields for computer accounts in AD. What I would like to do is apply a differnt GPO based on the contents of a particular field, for example, I would like to create three different GPOs with different
patch settings:
PROD
DEV
PILOT
I would then enter the corresponding value for each server in extensionattribute1. I would then like to have the correct patching GPO applied to each server based on the value in extensionattribute1.
I know this might be easier to do using OU's, but our OU structure is already very strict and I can't move the machines around for this purpose.
Is this even possible? If not, can anyone make a different suggestion that will allow me to use extentionattribute1 in a similar way?

How about using Security Filtering instead of AD attributes.
Group A: Prod
Group B: DEV
Group C: PILOT
Put the servers in the respective group and apply the GPO to that group.
Will continue to think on using an AD attribute

I am been tasked with creating a system\process that applies specific files and entries to hosts files to various various users.
Short of the long, I have users in 1 OU e.g Sales, and users that exist in other OU's, I need specific users in other OU to get the same GPO as the users in the Sales OU?
Can this be done? I've been looking at security filtering but I cannot get it to actually apply the GPO despite doing a gpupdate /force etc.
Any ideas? Or tips for me to try?

Applying Different Product Classifications To Different Groups

Sorry if I'm missing the obvious here, but I see no way of applying different product classification updates to different groups of PCs either through WSUS or through GPOs.
Originally in my environment we had one WSUS policy which my predecessor had rolled into the Default Domain Policy. In an effort to get away from this, and also to manage which types of updates get applied to which systems (critical and security updates
for some, and all updates to others) I created two new GPOs: WSUS > All Updates and WSUS > Selective Updates.
However, in configuring the GPOs I realized there is no way to designate the types of updates that are/aren't approved. So I went back to WSUS, and under the Options screen I opened 'Products and Classifications' and then switched to the 'Classifications'
tab. So here I can select/de-select individual update types, but there's no way for me to turn them on/off granularly. In other words, this seems to be a global setting.
So my question is this: How do I set up WSUS to automatically approve and install *only* security and critical updates for one group of systems, and automatically approve and install *all* updates for another group of systems? Do I need to use GPOs
in tandem with WSUS, or can WSUS do it on its own? Where would I go to configure something like this.
Sorry for the detail, but I'm really not seeing anything obvious anywhere and I can't believe I'd have to build a secondary WSUS server just to set up multiple classification groups.

That's because you don't. The WSUS server has one repository of updates, defined by Product Category, Update Classification, and Language. Updates are then targeted to computers by placing computers in a target group and approving an update for
that target group. All computers in the target group will evaluate each approved update, and if the update is installable, the computer will download and install the update.

So, all you really did here was declare two different WSUS Target Group(s). How you actually apply those GPOs to your client systems will determine which of either, or both, groups that a client system is a member of.

You create an Automatic Approval rule to approve Security Updates and Critical Updates for THAT GROUP. (e.g. the "Selective Updates" group).

You create an Automatic Approval rule to approve ALL update classifications for the "All Computers" group (note that you don't even need your "All Updates" group, you only need the "Selective Updates" group).
I will also take the moment here to severely warn you that approving ALL UPDATES for ALL COMPUTERS is a very dangerous thing to do, and frankly you don't even need a WSUS server to do that. Just enable Automatic Updates on the system and let 'em get their
updates from Microsoft directly and you'll have exactly the same behaviors with a lot less administrative overhead.

OBIEE report based on same criteria but different view based on filter

Hi,
I am trying to create a report in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 where In the same report using the same criteria, I can have different views which applies different filter.
Suppose, I have a report criteria as
Dim1, Dim2, Measure1, Measure 2.
I want to create two pivot view based on the same data.
One view will be showing data Dim1="Value1". The other view is duplicate of this view but will show data Dim1="Value2".
Is it possible in OBIEE?
basically what I want is work on the same dataset but different representation and show them in the same report. Please share your opinion.

Hi,
You create a new dim dummy column in criteria and in presentation level create new pivot table view use this dummy dimension column and filter with dim1=value2.

How to apply different styles to multiple spry accordian panels?

Hi all,
I have a website that I'm building that has multiple spry accordian features on it.
I am trying to apply different styles to each accordian. A problem arises when I try to place an accordian within another accordian.
I have styled two different background images for two of the accordians for the styles (AccordionPanelTab, AccordionPanelTabHover and AccordionPanelOpen AccordionPanelTabHover) which work fine.
When I try and place an accordian within another accordian the background image for this accordian for the styles (AccordionPanelTab and AccordionPanelOpen AccordionPanelTabHover) has the different style applyed that I stated in the accordion.css file, however the style (AccordionPanelTabHover) has the same style as the accordian it is within even though in the accordion.css file I stated a different background image.
I hope all this makes sence below is my source and CSS Code.
I appriciate any help that can be given to help resolve this issue I am running in too.

I figured it out, if anyone was having the same problem as me and looking on this thread for the answer, here it is.
Firstly if you're wanting to seperatly style two or more Spry Accordions that are not within each other e.g.

I have “N” number of signals. I want to apply different Logical operations for this.
For Example:

Here Conditions will change every time. User can input different conditions (like Excel calculations). I need to check signals as per these type of conditions. Is there is any tool kits available in LabVIEW / we need to develop?
Currently I’m thinking about string manipulations to extract the each condition . Once first condition is finished then check this results with next conditions (so on..)

Applying Local GPO (Question)

Hi,
I have few images created for different setups.
If customsettings.ini file has this enabled "ApplyGPOPack=YES" along with "GPOPackPath" defined would the GPO apply even though in task sequences "Apply Local GPO Package" step is "Disabled".
My aim is to have a particular GPO apply to only one of the Image deployment.

No it will not. But instead it's better to remove the step in CS.ini and create an task sequence variable at the top of the task sequence you want to have the GPO applied to.
Just add a step: Task Sequence Variable, with the following variable: ApplyGPOPack value: YES
This way you set the setting for one particular task sequence, and you avoid conflicts for the case you ever are going to have a new deployment which has ApplyGPO pack enabled, and you or a co-worker has forgotten to disable it.

How to apply different keyboard shortcuts to an actions with the same name but in different menus within one application?

Hopefully someone can help. I have the application "djay" and in two different menus there is the action "Eject". I was wondering if it's possible to apply different keyboard shortcuts to those actions with the same name? I can't see how to do it as it seems you can only write the action but as there are two it doesn't seem to work for me.
For example:
djay>Table-1>Eject - ⌘⇧1
djay>Table-2>Eject - ⌘⇧0

Drop the files into different directories based on the filename

Hi,
I had a reqiuirement based on the file name, i should drop the files in to different directories.
I can get the filename through variable substitution in receiver file communication channel, now i want to drop the file into different folders based on conditions.
suppose, if the file name is DDDX234
i should do substring of filename0+(4), if the value is L then i should drop in X directory
suppose, if the file name is DDDY234
i should do substring of filename0+(4), if the value is L then i should drop in Y directory.
How can i drop the file into differnent directories based on filename.

I mapped the directory and filename to the target header in the mapping
Filename --> UDF --> Header(target)
and in the receiver channel checked the ASMA and given * in the filename and directory name.
But in runtime iam getting the error as

How do I apply different margins to different section in the same document?

In Pages 5, how do I apply different margins to different section in the same document? there are is no layout break like in Pages 4.

Use the Text Format Pane, Layout Tab, Indents.
You could do the same thing by dragging the margin stops on the Ruler.

Apply different styles to text within a Text field?

I am working on an application that consumes a user-generated
HTML file and displays it on part of a Flex screen. The main
problem is HTML can look something like this (for example):
Hello <span class="greeting">Mr. Smith</span>,
how are you doing <span class="title>today</span>.
Unfortunately, the Flex Text control only accepts a single
style that is applied to all text within the control and the
htmlText property only allows for very basic HTML markup and does
not include support for applying styles to a part of the text.
I've thought about creating a series of Text controls (each
with its own style as needed) and putting them together in an HBox.
However, this messes up word wrapping if the text exceeds the width
of its container.
Anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem?

Could you please elaborate your requirement since you can have different instances of synchronized text have different formatting.
So your original menu can consist of various text blocks (marked with different content tags) and then duplicate them and apply different formatting to the copied text. The text is still linked and an update to one will get synced to the other.
If you are looking at applying different styling to chunks of text within one textframe (marked using a content tag), THAT is not possible, since the tagged content is supposed to maintain integrity of text and not the associated styling (which you should be able to apply independently).

Text Entry Box - Different Results based on Different Entries?

I'm trying to figure out a way to use the Text-Entry Box (if there's a better tool to go about this, let me know) in order to bring up a particular caption box with a particular response. So for example, in a standard text-entry box, I have listed 4 possible "correct" answers, and for this example, I'll just say answer 1, answer 2, answer 3, and answer 4. I would like each answer to bring up a different caption box with a different statement based on which answer they type in. Basically:

etc.
All I can ever get is for each answer to just respond to the same standard buttons, Success, Failure, etc. I can't seem to add a new button that would pop up like the standard ones, or, as I would like better, Captions instead. Any ideas?

Perhaps it is a problem with terminology, but as the 'proclaimed' advanced actions freak I have to ask what you mean by your latest answer 'captions did not come as variables to use'. A button is not a variable in my mind, but you mean perhaps the object ID? Which statement did you use in the advanced actions where the object ID of the captions do not show? AFAIK that is only the case with the statements Assign and Expression if you use variables, but there the button will not be in the list as well.
Do you understand why I'm puzzled?
My work flow would be this one:
Create the Text captions TC_one, TC_two... and set them to invisible
Create the Advanced conditional action that checks which (correct) answer was chosen, this action will have one decision for each correct answer; the action to be executed is to show TC_one in case answer1 was chose, TC_two for answer2 etc. If you allow the user to change his answer, hide at the same time the other captions
Attach this action as Success action to the TEB, and have a shortcut or the Submit button like you wish.
In case you allow also a Retake functionality, where the user returns to this slide, you'll need sort of a Reset that hides all Text Captions when entering the slide

how can i apply different font styles in a single text frame using indesign script ?
for example :
"dasdnasndasndlasndnasdlasdasdas"
may i know is it possible to do that and how to do that ?

You can set (as well as read) every single property of any text range with scripts. This is javascript; it assumes you text cursor is inside a frame with some text.
* Setting some specific characters to a color:
app.selection[0].parentStory.characters.itemByRange(5,10).fillColor = "Red";
* Change the font of words:
app.selection[0].parentStory.words[3].appliedFont = "Arial\tBold";
* .. or just the style:
app.selection[0].parentStory.lines[2].fontStyle = "Italic";
* .. or any other attribute (this one requires you to have at least 5 characters selected):
app.selection[0].characters[5].underline = true;
Of course these operations are not limited to something you select; they work the same with any text frames you can refer to.
app.activeDocument.textFrames[1].paragraphs[2].appliedCharacterStyle = "charstyle";
