Apps update for older ios

HY
I have an iphone 4s with ios 7 and keep receiving updates application that in their description says that is for iphone 6.
my question is why i receiving updates for iphone 6 if mine is iphone 4s.

While they may have some new features or fixes incorporated specifically for iPhone 6. If you are getting the update Notices its because your iOs and hardware support the updates.  The update may have other fixes for other devices besides iPhone 6.
You can update them without worry.

  • App Store will not Install compatible apps for older iOS versions.

Note to Apple, fix the App store so we can install a compatible version of an app for older iOS versions.
My iPad 1 maxed out at iOS 5.1.1. If I want to install a new app with this device ( one I have not ever installed), and the latest app says iOS 7 and above, ithe app store won't let me install an older compatible version, even if older versions used to be previously available .
I think Apple is trying to convince me to buy a Galaxy Tab for my next tablet.  They are basically telling me to throw away my old iPad because it is no longer compatible with the newest iOS version 7 on the app store. You want that new app? If the latest version is only ios7 compatible, you're outta luck sukka.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you are not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple. Whether an older version of an app is available depends upon the developer.

  • Can you make a iOS update for older iphone's

Apple can you make a iOS update for older iphones's

    Apple is not here.
We are all iphone users just like you.
Like all software on all devices/computer/tvs/dvds/cars/etc, the newest updates will not be compatible with older devices.
iphone 3g and earlier models have reached the end of the line.

  • HT4623 My old school iPod touch won't update.  Does apple mess it's customers over by not allowing updates for older models of the touch?  My last update is Ios5.  My touch says its up to date.  So has my old school touch reached its pinnacle?

Correct. The 3G iPod does not have the hardware to support an iOS version higher than 5.1.1
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was releases, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

  • I am having trouble with app updates on my iOS 5 iPhone never getting beyond the "waiting" state.

I am having trouble with app updates on my iOS 5 iPhone never getting beyond the "waiting" state. I have tried signing out/in of my account, rebooting and removing/re-installing the apps.  This started shortly after going to iOS 5 but I am not certain if that is related.  All updates that I try now are stuck in "waiting".  I also tried removing the apps and then installing via iTunes desktop sync with no improvement.  The only thing that I have not tried so far is a restore to a prior iPhone backup.  I have not been able to find anything to indciate what the updates on waiting on.  There is plenty of space on the iPhone (16gb available).  Any suggestions on what to try next?

    Hello there, Missy.
First thing I would recommend is to check your downloads queue to make sure there is not an interrupted download per the following Knowledge Base article:
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1725
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    1. From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
    2. For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
    3. Enter your account name and password if prompted.
    4. Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, you can download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC and then sync it to your iOS device. You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.
For Apps, you can also try tapping on the application icon to resume the download, as outline in this featured discussion:
App updates won't download on my...: Apple Support Communities
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4111336
Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • HT4623 my IPOD is using version 5.1.1 and says it is up to date.  One of my apps updated for IOS7 and now doesn't work on my IPOD.  What can I do?  It is a podcast app that I use every day.

My IPOD touch is using version 5.1.1. and no updates available.  I use a podcast app which I listen to every day.  The app updated for the new IOS7 and now doesn't work for me any more.

All yo can do is either find a compatible app that works for your 3G iPod (iOS 5.1.1) or purchase a new model iPod.

  • Ipad mini with retina-- apps crashing on ios 8. Even apps updated for ios 8 are also crashing

AFter updating my ipad mini retina to ios 8, apps already updated for ios 8 are crashing like...scanner pro by readdle,

Me too. I've been an Apple fan for a long time but things are starting to get painful. I hate telling people not to upgrade but I can't honestly recommend otherwise.
A bad thing is that these problems are not predictable. I have an iPad Mini - no retina that I got for free for opening a new bank account. I am a developer so I have run it on iOS 8 for some time. Even the released version has annoying bugs that weren't there on iOS 7. While the performance isn't great, it is useable. But a retina would have higher requirements and perhaps iOS 8 makes your machine too slow.
Do try all of the resetting and troubleshooting techniques. They may help.

  • Extremely annoying App Update bug in iOS App Store

Previously when iPhone in 3G mode, iOS App Store will not download any update that's more than 20MB, even when I tapped on the "Update All" button.
However, starting from iOS 4.3, this is no longer the case. Whenever I tapped on the "Update All" button, iOS App Store will just try to download all () even though some apps are more than 500MB. To make things worse, iOS App Store will prompt me saying the apps I'm trying to update is > 20MB so no update will be downloaded for the apps, but it already marked those apps as "Waiting". There's no way to cancel this other than cold reboot the iPhone.
This is very annoying when I have several apps to be updated, and one of which is the app that I'm using often. I won't be able to use the app until I can find a Wi-Fi to try to complete the update.
Please, please, please fix this annoying bug!

I have this annoying experienced too, my friend have 69 apps waiting for update, when I click update last night, over 30 apps are not usable and I have to wait the download process.  What's worst is that I and my boyfriend uses different account. The update just keep prompting different password - and keep saying its a different store.  annoying. Apple un the upcoming 5.0 should fix this user at once!

  • Has anyone had app update issues with iOS 8.1?

I'm running iOS 8.1 on a iPhone 6+.  If I try to update an app from the app store without being logged in, it will hang the process and the update will fail.
Previously, with my iPhone 4 and iOS 7.1.2 the app store would ask me to log in when an app update was attempted without being logged in.
The work around until apple fixes this bug is to ensure you are logged in BEFORE attempting an app update.  An honest techie at the local apple store admitted this is a bug (one of many) in iOS 8.1.  Has anyone else had this issue with iOS 8.1

Nope, I'm able to update an app in iOS 8.1, even if I'm not first logged into the iTunes & App Store in Settings.  It prompts me to update the app, then I sign in with my password.
Do you have Touch ID enabled for App Store or not?

  • App update error after iOS 4.3 upgrade

Since I updated to iOS 4.3 there is a strange corruption on App updater. I can see the updates available but the tab shows them in basic HTML and I can't select them. Have tried reboot to no avail. Any ideas?

A general troubleshooting measure is resetting the iPad. Press and hold the Home and Power buttons for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until the Apple logo appears.

  • App update for an app I never bought

I have both Angry Birds and Angry Birds Space for my iPhone, but never bought the app for my Macbook Pro.
Recently I have gone on to the Mac App Store and found an update for Angry Birds, which I found rather odd.
When I click update - it comes up with the log in box, and a completely different apple ID to mine. I contacted support and got this response:

Oh and I tried putting my own apple ID and hitting update - but that comes up saying "store error".

Unfortunately she has been misdirecting folks with that update bug link for far too long.
Candidly, when you see the Apple ID for a stranger appear in the Mac App Store (MAS) on your Mac regarding an update for an app that you haven't bought, it is a notice that you have a pirated app that you got from an outside source. Some trial version or a "free" version is actually a MAS version that someone has cracked and is distributing.
    Finding a pirated app
All MAS apps have a MAS receipt in their app bundle. Check any app acquired from the MAS. Right click on the app's icon in your Apps folder and choose Show package contents. In the Contents folder is a _MASReceipt folder and in that folder is the coded MAS receipt. It has the Apple ID of the MAS account that bought/acquired the app from the MAS. It is that receipt that the MAS uses to alert you that an app has an update. There would not be a notice of an update with someone else's Apple ID showing in the MAS on your Mac, if there was not an app with a receipt from this person's account somewhere on your Mac.
    Download the free app FindAnyFile (FAF);
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
This app is easier to use and seems to be more powerful than Spotlight. Open FAF and in the box type _MASReceipt and press Find. It should come up with a list of every app on the Mac with a MAS receipt. Compare the apps with receipts in FAF's list with your purchased apps list in the Mac App Store. The odd app out should be the pirated app.

  • In-app purchasing for Android & iOS

    Hi,
I have developed an AIR mobile app for both Android and iOS devices. Now, I want to sell my app through Google Play and Apple stores.
    1. How to implement in-app purchasing for Andorid and iOS in my AIR app
    2. Does Adobe have support for implementing in-app purchasing?
    3. Implementing in-app purchasing only once in my app will be enough to send it to both Google and Apple stores?
Kindly, guide me. Thanks is advance...

I used milkmangames ANE. (50$), because i didnt want to fork the code for each os.
    http://www.milkmangames.com/blog/tools/
It was "easy" to set up (quotes: as easy as something complicate can be).
Consumables, or One-time-purchases worked out of the box, but restore, subscriptions and auto subscriptions (like newspapers) had bugs like hell and were unusable.
Also check out here for some free stuff (wich propably works as well as the comercial, "supported" stuff, stupid-me)...

  • CC (2014) Photo Program and other CS6 apps - Updates for CS6 to CC (2014)?

I have the CS6 Design & Web Premium apps installed, plus the Creative Cloud Photo Program option (PS and LR).
With the new CC (2014) release today I'm being offered CC (2014) updates for all the CS6 programs that I have that aren't in the Photo Program (i.e. Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, etc). Surely this isn't right. Shouldn't it be asking if I want to Install or Try them rather than providing an update?
If I go ahead and update will it start charging me more? Its a bit confusing!

I installed all the updates, including the CC 2014 programs. I am not being charged for them. However, they are not updates to the other programs. I now have 2 versions of all my CS6 programs installed on my computer. The CC 2014 programs are now default, for some reason, and when I open them they ask me if I want to start a free trial or if I want to put in a license code. My CS6 code doesn't work, obviously, but I tried anyway. I'm a little annoyed that this was offered to me like it was an update for my programs, even though it wasn't. And if I uninstall them, I am afraid that it is going to tell me that I have "updates" and try to install these programs again.

  • App updates slow in ios 6

I have both a iPhone 4 and 4S running IOS 6.  When I update an app it is taking about 10 min. per app to update.  It doesn't make any difference which phone I am doing the update on.  Anyone else having this problem? Have solution?

How are you updating the Apps on your iPhone? Are you updating them on the iPhone over Wi-Fi or the cellular network? Are you syncing updated Apps to the iPhone from iTunes via USB or Wi-Fi?
Try downloading the app updates in iTunes and then syncing them to the iPhone using the USB cable.
Also, take a look at the suggestions in this Apple doc -> iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store

  • When is the next release/update for iPhone iOS.5 ? (concerning SIRI)?

    Hi,
Given that Siri is in beta, when does Apple plan to update us with a proper version with the bugs ironed out?
Are they going to remove the annoying design of Siri that requires an internet connection to ask it the local system time?
If anyone has any news on this, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    H
