Architecture of Oracle Stellent
Hi,
Can anyone please pass on the document that has the Architecture of Oracle Stellent, with Add ons listed as well?
if not, a simple architecture document will also do.
Thanks,

How to handle external tag-libraries in JSPs using Oracle Stellent?
I have already started the execution of JSP engine in Oracle Stellent, and also could run the sample Tomcat web-application and basic JSPs in Oracle UCM. What I need to do, is to customize my JSP to be able to show/hide some content using Oracle Stellent.
I have a JSP, from web application, which is using some some tag-libraries from spring, etc.
+<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c"%>+
+<%@ taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/tags/form" prefix="form"%>+
+<%@ taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/tags" prefix="s"%>+
+<%@ taglib prefix="security"+
uri="http://www.springframework.org/security/tags"%>
+<%@taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/tags" prefix="s"%>+
+<%@ page import = "idcserver.*" %>+
+<jsp:useBean id="sb" class="idcserver.ServerBean" />+
+<%+
sb.init(request);
....and so on
I have checked in the above file, and when trying to preview in Oracle UCM, I get the following error:
Content Server Request Failed

Edited by: 980473 on Jan 8, 2013 2:01 AMHi ,
Check if you have jstil.jar in WEB-INF/lib location , if missing manually add jstl.jar into WEB-INF/lib restart UCM Managed server .
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Srinath -
When I try to check-in using IDC Service CHECKIN_UNIVERSAL, I get the foll. error :
oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ServiceException: Unable to execute service CHECKIN_UNIVERSAL and function Imeta. The error was caused by an internally generated issue. The error has been logged.
at oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ServiceException:getResponseAsBinder (ServiceResponse.java:116)
at oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ServiceException:getResponseAsBinder (ServiceResponse.java:92)Hi Srinath,
I have RIDC calls from a Java file. I'm passing parameters from JSP to Java File.
Below are two methods ( initFromArgs, checkinUCM ) I use in my Java File - UCMCall.java :
public void initFromArgs(String[] args) throws IdcClientException {
String idcConURL = args[0];
setClientManager(new IdcClientManager());
setClient(getClientManager().createClient(idcConURL));
if (args.length > 2) {
String username = args[1];
String password = args[2];
setUserContext(new IdcContext(username,password));
} else if (args.length > 1) {
String username = args[1];
setUserContext(new IdcContext(username));
} else {
setUserContext(new IdcContext());
public DataBinder checkinUCM (String sInputParams[]) throws IdcClientException {
IdcClient Client = getClient();
DataBinder dataBinder = client.createBinder();
dataBinder.putLocal("IdcService","CHECKIN_UNIVERSAL");
dataBinder.putLocal("dDocTitle",sInputParams[0]);
dataBinder.putLocal("dSecurityGroup",sInputParams[1]);
dataBinder.putLocal("dDocAccount",sInputParams[2]);
dataBinder.putLocal("dDocType",sInputParams[3]);
dataBinder.putLocal("dDocName",sInputParams[4]);
dataBinder.putLocal("xProfileTrigger",sInputParams[5]);
try {
dataBinder.addFile("primaryFile",new File("E:/abc.txt"));
dataBinder.putLocal("doFileCopy","1");
ServiceResponse response = client.sendRequest(getUserContext(),dataBinder);
responseData = response.getResponseAsBinder();
catch (Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();
return responseData;
From my JSP, I'm calling as :
<jsp:useBean id="UCMCall" class="com.company.UCMCall"/>
argument[0]="http://sweshv.company.com:81/intranet_contrib/idcplg";
argument[1]="username";
argument[0]="password";
UCMCall.initFromArgs(argument);
String sInputParam[]={"","","","","","",""};
String sAssetDet[]={"","",""};
String sLocalFile = "d:/FileInput.txt";
BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader ( new FileReader(sLocalFile));
StringTokenizer st = null;
int tokenNumber = 0;
DataBinder binder;
while ( (sLocalFile = br.readLine()) !=null )
st = new StringTokenizer(sLocalFile, ",");
while (st.hasMoreTokens())
sAssetDet[tokenNumber]=st.nextToken();
tokenNumber++;
tokenNumber = 0;
sInputParam[0]=sAssetDet[0];
sInputParam[1]="SecurityGroup";
sInputParam[2]="DocAccount";
sInputParam[3]="DocType";
sInputParam[4]=sAssetDet[1];
sInputParam[5]=sAssetDet[2];
binder = UCMCall.checkinUCM(sInputParam);
out.println("Status : "+binder.getLocal("StatusMessage"));
Please let me know your comments

Hari

Hi,
I use ridc to check in file into Oracle Center Content server. There is no problem at the beginning. But after running for several days, there is following error.
I must restart my program to solve this issue.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
Thanks,
Tony

Three tier architecture using oracle dev suite 10g & oracle database 9i
hi ,
I am trying to build a software which will manage the database of a hospital through usual form design .
The tools I am using for these are
(1) oracle server database 9i (2) oracle developer suite 10g (3) windows xp professional service pack 2 .
I have designed the form modules in developer suite , created the tables in the database , connected those tables to the form modules using dml statements, now data can be inserted , updates and deleted through the form design . I have also deployed the forms using "run forms through web" and thereby other computers connected to the main computer through lan can also access the software using the web port address and the name of form to be used , these computers are not having oracle developer suite or oracle database installed , but they can access the software through the browser .
In this scenario my question is that , is this a three tier architecture as oracle database is the first tier , oracle developer suite is the middle tier where I am puting all the bussiness logics and oc4j instance is used to connect the database and the dev suite , and for user interaction we have the browser as the third tier ?
or this is a two tier architecture ? if this is a two tier architecture please let me know how can I implement a three tier architecture using oracle developer suite 10g and oracle server database 9i .
Thanks a lot for showing ur interest to read thisYou need Oracle Application Server to deploy the forms when you go live.
What you are currently using OC4J which came in the developer suite. It is used only for development purpose and can not have capacity to handle higher load.
3 tier arch
1. Thin Client :-> Browser
2 Middle tier -> Oracle Appln Server /OC4j(in ur case)
3 Database Tier -> Oracle Database

HI,
I creat a dynamic web application on my system and then I created a servlet with the following code.
protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
// create the manager
IdcClientManager manager = new IdcClientManager();
try
// build a client that will communicate using the JAXWS protocol
IdcClient idcClient = manager.createClient("http://localhost:7001/idcnativews");
System.out.println("idcClient....."+idcClient);
}catch (Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();
// Add event code here...
when I call the servlet I am getting follwoing error

What is the Architecture of Oracle 9i?
Anybody please tell me the architecture of Oracle 9i.
The fusion architecture is currently more of a marketecture than anything real. And what's SOA got to do with anything?
Cheers, APC -
Hi All,
Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6 with WC Extension
Included RIDC Library in my project
Integrated WLS has the oracle.ucm.ridc.app-lib(11.1.1,11.1.1) as a shared library present.
I get the error as in the subject when I run my application and try to check in a document to UCM at the following line -
IdcClientManager checkinmanager = new IdcClientManager();Interestingly , when I run the same class using a main method it goes through fine , which probably means that the class is not picked up from the shared library.
Any idea what am I doing wrong here.Starting from the obvious:
Do you have all the necessary imports? The class with the cited line should have imports like
import oracle.stellent.ridc.IdcClient;
import oracle.stellent.ridc.IdcClientException;
import oracle.stellent.ridc.IdcClientManager;
import oracle.stellent.ridc.IdcContext;
import oracle.stellent.ridc.model.DataBinder;
import oracle.stellent.ridc.model.DataObject;
import oracle.stellent.ridc.model.DataResultSet;
import oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ServiceException;
import oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ServiceResponse;Also, in JDev, you should be able to double click the imported class names and get prototypes.
Included RIDC Library in my project Included RIDC Library in my project What exactly have you done? I'd recommend: in Project Properties find Libraries and Classpath and there you can add RIDC Library (if you installed RIDC extension like described e.g. here http://cfour.fishbowlsolutions.com/2010/06/23/how-to-import-ridc-extention-and-site-studio-into-jdeveloper/ ) -

Need help on oracle stellent implementation
We need expert help in oracle Stellent Implementation.Any one interested and need more details please mail back.
Edited by: user12990131 on Apr 14, 2010 11:38 PMour requirements
- Need to design technical design document
- Need to design a web portal using UCM with certain feature provided by clinet
- Need to have work flows, colloboration, wiki etc.
For more details,please provide us your contact details or email details -
What is “Oracle Stellent 10gR3” regarding Oracle UCM , because I want to attend a course regarding Oracle universal content management and I found I course named “Oracle Stellent 10gR3: Content Server Administration”, so does this covers oracle UCM , or it relates to a different product .
Second question is there another courses related to oracle UCM covering ( administration , development , etc) to became UCM certified.It's exactly the same thing.
UCM used to be called Stellent before Oracle bought it, they still call it Stellent from time to time, it is one of those terms that is used instinctively. -
Project architecture in Oracle SOA Suite.
Hi,
Could any one please provide the info abt " How the Project Architecture is implemented and its steps in realtime in Oracle SOA suite 10g/11g ".
Thanks in advance,
VenuDid you mean Project Structure ?
If yes, take a look at the following chapter in developer's guide.

Recommended architecture for oracle bi ee
Hi,
we are trying to decide whether it is better to separate the presentation services from the bi server & host them on separate machines. We would like to know what is the recommended architecture? Is it better to install the webserver,oracle presentation server on one machine & the java host& B1 server on another machine?
thanks.I don't know what Oracle official recommended architecture is.
However, the latest benchmarks from Oracle are based on BI/PS on each machine: http://rnm1978.wordpress.com/2009/09/18/collated-obiee-benchmarks/
I'd say that's a pretty strong reason to go with BI/PS on each machine.
FWIW, we run 2xBI/2xPS but given chance I'd probably redeploy to 4xBI&PS -
Hi All,
I'm writing MA Thesis on BPM systems. I'm comparing some implementations that support BPMN2.0.
1. What I need is the Oracle BPM archtecture overview.
1.1 What elements are a part of this product
1.2 What elements build the infrastructure nessesary to use Oracle BPM
2. What are ways to use Oracle BPM in my sample j2ee application. I wont to have my own interface and update state of processes and make some of the application parts get notified when process state reaches some point, etc. Is all written in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_workflow.htm#BACHEFDH ???
I suppose all that info is on documentation pages of Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle BPM Suite. The problem is I would need to dig through ALL that documencation to choose only parts that I need. I do not wont to become Oracle products expert, that comes in future not now:)
So I kindly ask You to help me finding the range of documencation and it's chapters that would give me a good Overview of Architecture and possible integrations of Oracle BPM 11g, I need BPMN2.0 working:)
Thx to All that reply.Hello -

has anyone tried this in their latest development? Any information or strategy you can share...
Thanks in Advance...
Edited by: user3047732 on 17-Oct-2008 12:25 PM> I have checked the Database upgrade guide in service.sap.com and I got upgrade Docu (Oracle 9.2.0.6 to Oracle 10.2 WINDOWS ).
You also read it?
> Now my question is my current Oracle release and patch is oracle 9.2.0.4 .
> Kindly advise I have to upgrade patch 9.2.0.6 and then I have to Oracle Upgrade 9.2.0.6 to 10.2
Page 11 in the upgrade guide - "Planning section"
"If the source database runs Oracle 9.2.0.4, 9.2.0.3, 9.2.0.2, or 9.2.0.1,
you need to update the source database to patch set 9.2.0.6 or later."
Actually the guide from SAP is very good, you just have to read it and follow it step-by-step. Also "mix in" the notes mentioned in the guide.
