    how do I find the 'auto fil' feature for Firefox?

    Hi jasmtch,
    I am assuming you are talking about auto fill for forms and not password/logins, correct? If that is the case, just take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Form autocomplete]]. This will give you all the information you need to use and manage the autocomplete feature.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Is there .jar file avilable for firefox.

    Im using lgcookie, so is there any jar file in the firefox.

    Firefox mobile will not work on the LG Cookie. The LG Cookie uses the manufacturers own operating system, mobile Firefox will only work on the maemo OS used by some Nokia phones and on certain Android phones.

  • Fancy to see an Archlinux search plugin for firefox

    go to here, and install:
    http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html
    search archlinux package, have installed.

    Here's my fix:
    $ su -
    # cd /opt/mozilla-firefox/lib/firefox-0.9.1
    # chown root:users searchplugins
    # chmod 775 searchplugins
    There really SHOULD be a ~/.mozilla/firefox/default.klm/searchplugins/ directory for each user (there's one for extensions).  Hopefully by 1.0 the Firefox people will change this.

  • Thunar as default file manager for firefox

    i am using xubuntu 9.04..
    I'm using Openbox as windows manager[pure openbox session], it's working great, but i have a problem ...
    open containing folder doestnt recognize Thunar as my only file manager, it keeps asking to open with...
    how can fix this problem?
    thank you in advance

    I am having a similiar issue... when I hit open folder it pops up sometype of file search program
    EDIT: Perhaps this works for you... for some reason it doesn't for me...
    http://rubylution.ping.de/articles/2007 … nder-linux
    Basically navigate to about:config and create the following three:
    network.protocol-handler.expose.file = true (Boolean)
    network.protocol-handler.external.file = true (Boolean)
    network.protocol-handler.app.file = /usr/bin/thunar (String)
    The program that runs instead of thunar has a title "Find Files" -- I did a quick search of installed programs related to "search" and I only have catfish installed and I know that is not the program... How would I go about determing what this application is or what it is a part of? Is there a way I can click on the program and it output the PID so I can then match it up with the entry in top/htop?
    SOLVED : figured it out... it was pcmanfm search program... for some reason it was not opening the folder but instead opening its search program... removing pcmanfm from my system fixed it and now folders are properly opening with thunar

    I use Linux Mint. When I download some file and then click on "Open Containing Folder" button it opens Nautilus file browser. Default file browser on my computer is Nemo, so I would like to always use it.

    It is possible to [[Set how Firefox handles different types of files]]. Please open the following options to find that menu:
    # Open Options/Preferences

    However if the item is not there, Is that file explorer the default explorer on the linux machine?

    You probably have not seen anyone reporting the exact same problem as you. All three crash reports have the same crash signature and as currently ranked 67 it is not the commonest of reasons for a crash.
    I hope you enter your email contact information when reporting crashes. I note you see this crash when using videos, others may possibly see this crash in other circumstances.
    You have already tried the obvious, attempts at a fix so it is now down to wait and see, maybe developers working on the bug will report something or fix it.
    Did you try my suggestion of installing portable ESR ?

  • Firefox for Mac preferences shows .qif file format for quicken as "quicktime image format"-wrong application and won't let me select anything else

    Post to Firefox forum; Oct.2011
    Re: Quicken 2007; Mac OS 10.5
    Problem: can’t import or download Qif format files into quicken from bofa or Chase. Mac can’t recognize; how do I set preferences in Firefox (or Safari).
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/new?product=desktop&category=d1&search=Firefox+for+Mac+preferences+shows+.qif+file+format+for+quicken+as+%22quicktime+image+format%22-wrong+application+and+won%27t+let+me+select+anything+else&showform=1
    Hello,
    I previously used Firefox on my old Mac G4 with OS 10.3.9; the above issue existed with that system and Firefox 2.00.2 (or similar). I then "tried" to move to a G5 Mac with OS 10.5, hoping that an updated Mac Operating system and updating Firefox would solve that problem.
    I'm now working on my son's MacBook Pro, OS 10.5.8, 2.4 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo; 2gb Memory; 2 gb 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM.
    I still have a problem in Firefox Preferences trying to download .qif files. BofA Mortgage accounts only allow downloading of .qif files. My .qfx download works fine, but the error message is as follows:
    The error message is that this is a corrupted file or one that Preview doesn't recognize.
    and it is still a problem when trying to download Quicken .qif format files for our B of A mortgage.
    The preferences for Firefox under File Helpers won't let me name the extension I want; instead, it CONFUSES .qif (Quicken Interchange Format) with .qtif (Quicktime Image Format) for Mac.
    Therefore, when I download .qif files and try to import them to Quicken, I get a message that this is a corrupted file:
    thanks for any help.
    Val in Seattle

    Well, in the end, I just gave up and deleted the photos, in the hope that it was something to do with them. Took some more photos and they seem to have imported without any problems at all.
    Given that the same irksome photos loaded on the wife's macbook without so much as a murmur, how weird is that?
    Still- all's well that ends well. Thanks for the suggestions- much appreciated.
    Matt

    Hi, I have been having problems with Internet Explorer 8 using Windows 7 so wanted to install Firefox but unable to as get a message saying error creating directory c:\programme files (x86)\mozilla firefox\searchplugins

    Thank you guig2! Followed your bleepingcomputer.com link above and found the problem was my permissions on C:\Users\Bill\AppData\Local/Temp. It was not "Full Control" for my User or Administrator. Updated the two lines to permit full control for folder, subfolder and files. Ran perfect.

  • Make Flash Plug-In for Firefox Remember Privacy Settings for Camera and Mic Access on Local File

    My company is using Flash Player to develop some kiosk-style applications to run on a standalone computer (no network connection). This computer will contain web pages containing Flash content. They will be opened from the local HD with Firefox with the Adobe Flash plug-in (v11.7.700.224). One of the applications accesses the microphone hooked up to the computer. When this application is started, it always asks for permission for "local" to access the microphone and camera. In previous versions of our system, we could click "Remember" if we did it once and that would make it so it wouldn't ask for permissions again (in this case, the Remember option isn't available, and the site settings don't even offer the Privace tab). However, in the previous case, we were running IE with a previous ActiveX Flash version (unfortunately, this approach is no longer available as we have had to switch to Windows 8 and that changes the game with IE and Flash entirely).
    At this point, we have tried to use the Global Settings for "Camera and Microphone Settings by Site..." to enter "Local" as an always allowed site. This does not seem to have any effect. We also tried entering the root directory of the applications in "Trusted Location Settings", but that also seemed to have no effect.
    I'm not sure what has fundamentally changed here. I think there might be some differences in the Plug-In version (compared to ActiveX), but I'm not sure what they might be or how to do the same thing as before.
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Torrey

    Chris,
    We learned that the Privacy tab (in Settings) can be found under the Flash plug-in for Firefox, but only if Firefox is running under an administrator.
    Unfortunately, we haven't had much luck with the mms.cfg file. The following was used in the mms.cfg file (placed in both the %WINDIR%\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash and %WINDIR%\System32\Macromed\Flash” directories):
    AVHardwareDisable = 0
    AVHardwareEnabledDomain = local
    AVHardwareEnabledDomain = 127.0.0.1
    AVHardwareEnabledDomain = localhost
    AutoUpdateDisable = 1
    The AVHardwareEnabledDomain settings seem to be getting ignored regardless of whether the user is a standard user or an administrator. I also checked to make sure it wasn't just a local problem by going to a website that uses a microphone (http://www.testden.com/accent-reduction/systemcheck.htm). Adding the requested domain to the list (AVHardwareEnabledDomain = train.act360.com) still didn't bypass the allow/deny dialog box.
    We know that the mms.cfg file is being read because setting "AVHardwareDisable = 1" will result in no prompt and that section being greyed out in Global Settings. I saw a post that suggested this setting was required to even make the AVHardwareEnabledDomain work, but it seems to block the local entirely and still brings up the dialog query on the internet site.
    Thanks,
    Torrey

    Hello,
    Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
    '''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
    #Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
    #After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
    #Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    #*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    #*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
    #Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    ##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    ##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
    Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.
