Are tables becoming obsolete?

Newbie alert!!!
Why am I seeing errors now? About a month ago when I checked
the test site in all the browsers everything was fine... now I've
got all sorts of errors everywhere.
Such as:
The tag: "table" doesn't have an attribute: "height" in
currently active versions.[XHTML 1.0 transitional]
or
The tag: "th" doesn't have an attribute: "background" in
currently active versions.[XHTML 1.0 transitional]
I talked to a guy today and he said he's never used a "th"
tag.
What am I doing wrong that Dreamweaver would create invalid
code? And why is the code no longer working?
Should I use tables sparingly? Should I mainly use DIV tags?
I have not tried them yet... don't really even know what they are.
(You know I took some time to read about them (DIV tags) but its
really just like I'm reading Greek with a few English words thrown
in there)
Serious question. When you started doing websites did you
like it instantly or did you grow to like it? I'm doing this site
for a friend of mine. I started in Sept. I've done a good deal of
work on it but honestly I've been procrastinating and haven't
really looked at it in a month... so I'm a little surprised that a
lot of what I've done is no longer valid. (For the record my friend
doesn't care when I get the site done but I'm sure he was thinking
maybe a month or two... not FIVE months). I don't want to set the
world on fire and do the greatest websites ever. I just want to be
able to do moderately simple stuff. It would be nice not to hate
every minute of it. So did you guys dislike it at first? Are most
of you self-taught? I've gone through all of the tutorials, took an
online course and have spent many hours at W3Schools. I'm just not
getting it. I've self-taught myself literally everything. I've
never needed this much help with anything.
I've tried to attach the code...
NOTE:
Obviously I don't know HTML or XHTML or CSS inside and out.
I've gone to the W3Schools and I'm trying... I have some
understanding of code etc. I am aware that Dreamweaver is not a
drag and drop program. The reason I got it is to help give my
incapable left brain some help... not really helping much. I've got
a lot to learn. Hopefully a light will come on because its been a
long time with little to show for it.

  • Using A Palm Pilot Today Good Idea or are they becoming obsolete?

I started using a Palm Pilot in 1997. I used one constantly until 2006 when I broke the Palm PDA I had at the time and did not replace it.
I still use the desk top software (Palm One Ver 4.1.4).
I would like to go back to using a Palm Pilot. I will probably break a few again so I would prefer an inexpensive model and I am only interested in the To Do List, Addresses and Calender features. I use Vista now and will move on to Windows 7 shortly.
What model do you suggest I purchase and where is the best place to buy them.?
    and
How long do you think we will be able to keep using these devices or will they eventually get overwhelmed by Black Berries, iPhones and Pre's?
    Thanks for your help

  • Why do the backups do not become obsolete even if they are out of retention

    Hi,
I'm reading 'Frequently asked questions on Rman backup retention policy [ID 463875.1]     ' and found
    >
We can have different conditions due which the backups would not become obsolete. They are :
    1) There is an offline datafile in the database because of which the all the archivelogs or the archivelog backups needed to recover the datafile will not become obsolete.
    >
Question is how to deal with that situation .
I've dropped offline datafile which belongs to tablespace , so my retension policy is not working anymore .
I dont care about that tablespace and datafile but still have to deal with them being offline every full backup .

That's a problem with the iPhoto book and it's handling of the photos.  One user worked around it by arranging the photos in the order he wanted in an album and use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option to set the date of the photos sequentially so the book would list them in that order when added to a bookl.

  • Is any one tired of buying apple products to have them die or become obsolete in 1 to 3 years? I have 2 Ipod touch 5 nanos 1 pad out of all 3 are useable. Batteries die or you can't upgrade to use them with new apps. BIG WASTE OF MONEY.

I have gone through so many apple products to have the battery go out in 1 year or become obsolete in 3 years. I don't believe new apps can't be made to work with older devices and batteries should last more than a year. At this point I feel it's like so much in our world to force us to buy new or use our 3 year old ipod touch as a glorified MP3 player. Some of us can't afford to replace our devices if your like me you expect to use Apple products for a long time that's why you purchase Apple. I bought a ipad so i wouldn't have to carry a laptop but if I want to download music or a book to my nano or ipod touch I can't and who want to take a walk carrying a ipad? Would it be so hard to make a cord to attach a nano to a pad so you can download stuff? What happened to making the consumer happy? Then you call to get answers and you get, sorry that's the way it is we can't help you. I have a box full of apple devices that aren't working or can't be upgraded, I just purchased a nano7 to replace my nano 4 ( the battery dead) this will be my last Apple product until they start standing behind there products like they use to. Far beyond not happy

I have two old ipod classics ( 6 and 7 years old), an ipod nano, the original iphone, iphone 3gs, iphone 4, iphone 4s and an iphone 5.  All still work just fine.
    You may be the exception.

  • TABLES parameter obsolete, how to solve this?

    Hi,
I am trying to port a function module from a CRM 4 to a CRM 5 system, and the original module had a TABLES parameter. Unfortunately, the CRM 5 system will not allow me to add a TABLES parameter (they have become obsolete).
The problem remains that I need to export/change a table full of data, and have not yet figured a way to do this, since (at least when I tried it) I can add EXPORT or CHANGING parameters with a type of the table, but they will be added as a structure of that type.
    Any idea?
    Thanks
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
What kind of a problem are you facing..? I was able to pass an internal table as an exporting parameter to a Functoin Module.
I tried passing some values stored in an internal table used in an FM to a program.
Following steps are to be followed.
    1) In SE11, create a table type for a table (I created a table type of KNA1 and its name was ztabtype).
    2) In the EXPORT tab of the FM, specify the parameter of type ztabtype.
    my_tab  TYPE ztabtype
    3) In the FM, I gave some values to the internal table my_tab.
    4) In the main program, I called the function module, whose name was ZSP_FMOD .
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZSP_FMOD'
    IMPORTING
    MY_TAB = ITAB[].
where ITAB declaration was as follows.
data: itab type table of kna1 with header line.
    5) I got the values of internal table by using LOOP....ENDLOOP statement.
Hope this answer satisfies your query.
If so, close the thread by awarding points to the useful answers.

  • Word 2010 with Embedded Excel table becomes oversized for RDP users

I originally asked this question on the SharePoint Online forums as this was the first time we've seen this issue. Original Post
Summarized: we have a Word template with embedded Excel table created in SharePoint Online, and when a RDP user opens it, the document correctly opens in the local version of Word 2010 (not Word Online).   When the table is edited, it becomes
larger to the point you can no longer view the entire table.
We have done some testing with Word 2010 outside of RDP and everything works correctly, the embedded Excel table doesn't become oversized and works as expected.  It seems to definitely be an issue with RDP and I've been looking for any assistance
on resolving this issue.  I recently did some further testing and found that the only time the table becomes oversized and not view-able is when you copy and paste information from an existing 2003 Excel document.  I would think this is the issue,
but it doesn't happen when working with Word and SharePoint outside of an RDP environment.
The template is a .docx file. All RDP users are in a 2008 R2 environment.

I did some testing over the weekend and the simple answer to your question - Not always.
I found 2 variables which seem to cause this to happen:
    1) We have 2 TS servers - one with IE 9, which remains to maintain support for a legacy app which will not work with IE 10 or 11, and one with IE 10.
    2) Screen resolution of the client computer - it seemed that systems with video configurations which could not exceed the maximum of 1280x1024 (the same screen resolution as our TS servers) didn't experience the issue.  There were some laptops
and higher end systems with widescreen monitors, where this was an issue.  They typically didn't have a 1280x1024 option; yet even if they did they would experience the same issue, just not as pronounced.
It also seems to only occur when a user copies and pastes information from Excel 2010 into the embedded Excel table in Word 2010.  Again, only within RDP.  On those client computers which had the problem, I could perform the same function outside
of RDP without any problems.  However, this is not an ideal format for the chefs as they will frequently be moving between different systems during the day.

  • Global temporary Table-Table becomes empty

    Hi,
I have used global temp table on commit preserve rows.
During initialization of the screen i'm creating temp tables and all the manipulation done on
screen has been stored on temp table ,
at the end of all the insert and delete operation i'm retrieving it from temp table and displaying
it in the screen,at some point of time the temp table value is lost.So nothing is been displayed in
    screen.
I tried to find out the problem according to me the session got expires coz of that the value in
the temp table becomes empty and last value inserted is stored.
can anyone help me out to solve this problem it will be great to get a help.

    What is your application architecture?
Are you using session-pooling. If so that would explain it: very likely the request that finds the empty temp-table, is being serviced by a different database session, than the one that originally created the contents of the temp-table.
Temp-tables are database-session specific: db-session X cannot see the contents of some temp table in db-session Y. db-session X has it's own copy of that temp-table.

  • I recently just bought a iphone 4 im happy with the product and it didnt cost an arm and a leg but i was wondering when the iphone 4 will become obsolete as in not receaving updates anymore etc

I recently just bought a iphone 4 im happy with the product and it didnt cost an arm and a leg but i was wondering when the iphone 4 will become obsolete as in not receaving updates anymore etc

Keep in mind that just because a device may not be upgradeable to the latest iOS release does not mean it cannot continue to work just fine on the last update it did get.  There will be many devices that were incompatible with iOS 7 that will continuing to work just fine on iOS 6 for a long time yet.  There are many people still using their iPad 1 despite the fact it stopped getting iOS updates after iOS 5.1.1.
One way to safeguard your apps against future incompatible versions is to keep a backup of all your apps in iTunes on your computer.  That way, if an update to the app comes out that is not backwards compatible with your iOS, you still have a copy of the last version of the app that was compatible with your device and your iOS release.

  • You are using the obsolete 3.x authorizations in BW 7.X.

    Hello gurus,
After system upgrade of our BW system from 3.5 to SAP Netweaver 7.0, EWA report is alerting the following problem in the system:
You are using the obsolete 3.x authorizations in BW 7.X. SAP does no longer support this feature.
Could you please and provide additional details for it and how can we deal with this authorization issue?
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
After executing RSEC_MIGRATION, select the reporting authorization objects to be migrated. At the end of the migration run, check for the warings & errors. This should be your base to proceed further.
Further, identify the InfoAreas, InfoProviders on which the queries are built-on, and InfoObjects which are to be made as authorization relevant.
Create the analysis authorizations based on these inputs and assign them.
You can use the below tables to prepare a matrix to understand the Role Vs, Infoarea, infoprovider, object and the queries that are included:
    - AGR_DEFINE
    - AGR_HIER
    - RSRREPDIR
    - RSDCHA
Hope this information will make the migration a cake walk
    Warm Regards,

I have a non intel G5 and would like to download i-tune songs that I have recently purchased. I have tried everything and can't find the downloads. Did this G5 just become obsolete with itunes? If not what is the problem?

You can do it with Leopard but it depends upon the iTunes version which you did not reveal.  Also make sure you are looking in the right place for purchases.
Consider buying a backup drive so you do not need to do this again.  If you are going to run old hardware and software you need to live differently because yes, at some time you will find your version of iTunes no longer works.  You're lucky it still works with Leopard.  As you can see, some versions still work with the iTunes Store but not for repeat downloading.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability by country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple recommends,  "... back up your iTunes library. " (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).
    Additional tip at https://discussions.apple.com/message/24176756#24176756
Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes if you have the sidebar displayed, or with the button at the top right.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links (see https://discussions.apple.com/message/26364186#26364186)
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • Widgets in my dashboard (created by Safari) are randomly becoming blank.

Widgets in my dashboard are randomly becoming blank. These widgets were added through Safari (using file>add to dashboard option). I see the content of the widget briefly while it is flipping over if I select the mode but otherwise it shows as blank window. For example, I have set up multiple dashboard widgets (created by Safari) showing different traffic camera views. 1/3 of them work and the other 2/3's are blank.
    Any suggestions?

These widgets work best when you have a strong internet connection. You could try reloading the widgets by pressing Command-r.

  • Tables become obselete in ECC 6.0 while creating FM's

    hi all,
i am trying to create Function Module in ECC6.0 but it is not taking any parameter in Tables TAB saying that Tables become obselete.
    What to do?
How to create FM with Tables as i want to use those table types in my Code.
I dont want to create FM Remote Enabled.
    Its Urgent.
    Regards,
    Sachin.

    HI,
You just need to pass them another way. For example, you need to pass them thru the importing/exporting paramters. You need to create a table type in the abap dictionary, then you reference this table type as your TYPE when defining the exporting or importing parameter of the function module. So first you create the structure in the dictionary(SE11) select radiobutton for data type, then choose structure, define the fields, and save and activate, then you create the table type the same way, just choose Table Type at the appropriate point, and then define the structure that you just created as the line type.
    Regards,
    Omkar.

  • Impact on using function modules that are flagged as obsolete

    Hi Gurus,
I'm working on a SAP 4.7 instance and we are soon to be going Unicode enabled. I noticed when running transaction UCCHECK that there are a number of function modules such as "POPUP_TO_CONFIRM_WITH_MESSAGE" and "POPUP_TO_DECIDE" as well as others that are flagged as obsolete, I'm not sure why these are not picked up in UCCHECK. However, can someone tell me what the impact would be if these obsolete functions were left as is and not changed?
    Thanks in advance
    C

Thanks for your responses, I agree with you both.
my view was that after we go unicode enabled all function modules that are flagged for deletion will still perform as they do now, however, as Praveen says this may not be the case in later versions.
    Thanks

  • My timeline area has become huge - can't get at bottom bar

I haven't worked on FCE for a while and when I got a project back up the timeline area has become way too big and I can't access the bottom bar. I have no idea how this happened or what to to. I've read the manual but there is no information on how to get rid of the unnecessary space above the video and under the audio. I don't want to make the tracks smaller, I just want to get rid of the empty unusable area, since I can't get to the bottom of the whole area to click on the tab that would help me narrow it. I find this very curious. I have tried all kinds of old projects and they all come up on this dreadful format of much too much area in the timeline. It's probably some dumb thing, but I need help. Thanks in advance.

No point in reinstalling as the application is working correctly. With the selection tool if you go to the top edge of the timeline window the arrow should change into the resizining tool. This will let you resize the window. There is only so far you can resize it depending on your monitor resolution. If this is not working there is a problem with your system or your mouse.

  • Will DV tape & Sony PD100 become obsolete? or do we repair?

We are not as up to date as we should be on standards.
We have a Sony PD100 in for repair, and a PD150 we use.
    1. Does it make sense to pay $US 1000 for repairs on the PD100?
    2. Are DV tapes obsolete yet? When will they be?
    3. Will serious festivals and producers accept film that is not HD in a year or two? Would a blow up work?
Much thanks for your good advice.

    1. Does it make sense to pay $US 1000 for repairs on the PD100? <</div>
Only if you can replace it for the same or about the same.
    2. Are DV tapes obsolete yet? When will they be? <</div>
No, they're not obsolete, neither is VHS. When? No one knows.
    3. Will serious festivals and producers accept film that is not HD in a year or two? Would a blow up work?< </div>
Many festivals still have VHS-only submissions because it is a lowest common denominator and universally playable. DVDs and compressed media are not. VHS demands that the producers know what they're doing with video and audio levels. HD has, what, 45 different competing and mutually exclusive incompatible stupid formats. No smart people are putting any money on a standard yet.
