Are there Verizon Network problems in Orange county California?

We had problems last night as well during the storms. A lot of pixelization on both the Fios TV signal and our over the air antenna. I was thinking it might have been a local station issue due to the storms because I thought Fios was not weather dependent.

Hi my work Blackberry can text my personal iphone 4S, but this iphone cannot then text reply back to the BB (using SMS).
Both devices are on Verizon network and have independent phone #s.  Voice calls are no problem either way, but text msg from the iphone to BB is the problem.  This same iphone have no issues 2-way texting another iphone or a LG Cosmos 2 "flip phone" in the family.  I've tried a) turning off the iphone's wifi; b) toggle iMessage on or off; c) resetting the network; and d) turning the iphone on/off but so far no success.

This is a BlackBerry 9930 on 7.1.0.1066.  I've only recently tried texting between this BB and the iphone, so there were no prior  succcesses sending from iphone to the BB.

  • Hyper-V 2012 R2. RemoteFx. "The remote session was disconnected because there were network problems during the licensing protocol. Please try connecting to the remote computer again."

After a Installation from Windows 8.1/windows 7 everything works fine. For example  Install updates and Software. If I connect the first time a remotefx card i can use RDP as well. But if i restart the host I get the mentioned error. What can I do. These
Hosts are not in a domain configuration. I tried it too but there was  no difference. I didn't discovered any errors in the eventlog, too. Only an actviex error. But same errors occurs with a succsefull rdp session.
Also strange is if i start the vm without a remotefx card it works fine again. Only session with a Remotefx card aren't possible anymore.
Is there a bug or something. I tried it many times with the same error.
    Maybe someone can help me.
    kind regards

    Hi Tobi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
For a workaround, please try to perform the two steps.
    1. Do NOT enable RDP 8 on the Windows 7 SP1 VM.  You should install RDP 8 and update the ICs though.
    2. Change the connection setting on the client from "Automatically detect" to "LAN"
Please check again below thread for information.
    a. "The remote session was disconnected
because there were network problems during the licensing protocol" after enabling RemoteFX Windows 8 VM
    (Please recheck answer by “dgeddes”)
    b. "The remote session
was disconnected because there were network problems during the licensing protocol" After Installing RemoteFX
    Hope it helps!

  • HT4796 Are there any unanticipated problems in carrying out the procedure outlined for 'Windows Migration Assistant'?

Are there any unanticipated problems in carrying out the procedure outlined in the 'Windows Migration Assistant' instructions?

One I have seen mentioned a couple of times is it will set up an identical user account on the Mac, which has led to some problems.
I don't know how to fix this since I haven't used Windows since 1995.

  • AVCD on MAC: are there any processing problems using say, VLC?

AVCD on MAC: are there any processing problems using say, VLC?

We've actually found that the Server 10.6.3 DVD does an amazingly smooth job of upgrading 10.5.8. We've been upgrading our production servers and nothing has gone wrong yet. Snow Leopard employs an archive and install method of upgrading which results in an install which is very close to a clean install. So it's been very convenient for us because our servers are used as Windows PDCs and it's a pain in the *** to have to re-join all PCs to the domain if we start from scratch.

  • HT4718 are there any reported problems with safari with the new OS X Mavericks?

My early 2008 iMac running OS X 10.9.2 all of the sudden has problems loading pages in safari.  The problem timing is the same as the upgrade to Maverick. The computer is connecting to wifi and other devices such as iPhones and three PCs have no problems.  The ISP is Xfinity.  Are there any reported problems with Maverick and Safari?

    Try searching.

You don't need to upgrade your software.  But if you're struggling with Spry, IMO you should cut your losses and switch to something better for the longrun.
If you have a budget to work with, I highly recommend Project Seven's Pop-Menu Magic 3.  It's easy to use in DW CS4, 5, 6 or CC.  More importantly, it's bullet proof and works in all devices.

If you don't have a budget to work with, you can roll your own menus with jQuery plugins.  A bit more effort on your part, but they perform better than Spry.

  • HT5527 Why is it that when I bought my first generation iPad in October of 2010 the Apple sales rep at the Orange County California store suggested that I pay $99 for Mobile Me "coverage" and told me it was a "one time charge".

Why is it when I bought my first generation iPad in October 2010 the sales rep at the Orange County California South Coast Plaza store suggested that I buy Mobile Me service for $99 which he assured me was a one time charge and now, of course, Mobile Me has been discontinued and I've been "forced" to move to the Cloud and I'm being provided with another year of what Apple calls complimentary service with the clear indication that in a year I'm going to be asked to pay again for something I paid a one time charge for two years ago?

Mobile Me was the successor to .Mac (dot mac) which was "free" to all users but for a limited time. It included a free email address @mac.com and an amount of what we would now call "cloud" storage that went by the name of iDisk. iDisk worked great but with only dialup service for me it was barely useful.
So I didn't think much of dot-mac but lots of people thought it was worth paying for, so they did. Apple wanted to make it even more useful and integrate it with their portable devices which we all know as iPads and iPhones, and assembled a team to make it all work. This was to be called Mobile Me.
They failed miserably. Lots of people including me looked at the final product and said "huh?" Unfortunately for the Mobile Me engineers, one of those people was Steve Jobs. He first humiliated them quite publicly, then disbanded the team, including firing at least one senior manager who shall remain nameless.
This was the rocky beginning of what is now called iCloud, which is the "free" service I should have explained. iCloud includes an email address @me.com, and the 5 GB of "storage" which aggregates things like iWork documents, your email, calendars, Photostream, and iPhone backups.
You can buy more storage if you need more than 5 GB, but if you have more than that it's still free through September 2013.
What happens if you have more than 5 GB stored on iCloud and on September 2013 you don't pay? I'm not sure, but you have a year to think about it.

  • Internal Verizon Network problems - How to escalate tickets

Does anyone have a number other than the standard technical support to contact to escalate a ticket?  I have had two experiences where first line support opened an automated test ticket which supposedly found a problem that a technician needed to be dispatched.  Both were closed, and no technician ever came to the house. Last night a third ticket was opened by a rep who was not willing to transfer me to a supervisor.
I have done extensive troubleshooting and determined the internal Verizon network is experiencing 14-22% packet loss on server nsrest01.verizon.net which happens to be the primary served DNS for my area.  This occurs especially when sending ping packets 512k or larger.  Incidentally the first two hops are not having packet loss that I can detect.
If you have a Windows box, drop to a command prompt and do ping -t -l 512 nsrest01.verizon.net  and let it run for 20 minutes and see how much packet loss it receives.  Even from other broadband providers the pings are lossy.
First line support is looking at my end of the circuit as the problem.  I have been told that I can not email any logs to support, which is rediculous.  I have spent hours of my time opening tickets, waiting for automated tests,  and waiting for technicians who did not show up.  How many of these does a customer need to open with first level support before they can be helped?

While I do not know the answer to your question, #1 I point can tell that you can test the DNS Servers http://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm #2 And I point you to the post by "Kerry Liles" said at "news.grc.com" in the "grc.techtalk" area in a thread titled "Problems Accessing A Couple Of Websites" X-Url: http://www.GRC.com/groups/techtalk:231784 Xref: news.grc.com grc.techtalk:231784 http://12078.net/grcnews/article.php?group=grc.techtalk&id=231784 Quick quote ** Many ISPs cannot configure and run a proper dns service. Although it is not an easy task, it is possible to do so **

  • Why are there so many problems with the early 2008 Mac Pro ???

Hi everybody out there using Mac Pro's early 2008,
I found out there is a lot of problems with the early 2008 Mac Pro.
My early 2008 Mac Pro has been repaired ones under warranty and now it stopped working again ! Also see under: Mac Pro early 2008 no chime and does not start up. Why is this ????
It worked well for about 2 years and then it just fails and i had this failing issue twice already !!! Is this just a BAD Apple product or how do you think I need to approach this. Let’s face it, these machine don’t come cheap and you at least expect them to work without problems for 4-5 years. What is happening here ???
    Cheers, Kavango

go to a black screen after 15 minutes or a couple hours
That is probably an indication that you need to find a new graphics card.
RE: Mac Pro Replacement Graphics cards
    1) Apple brand cards,
    2) "sold in the Apple store" cards, and
    3) "Mac Edition" cards ...
... show all the screens, including Boot up screens, Safe Mode, Installer, Recovery, debug screens, and Alt/Option boot screens. At this writing, these choices include:
    1) Apple brand cards:
    • Apple-firmware 5770, about US$250** works near full speed in every model Mac Pro, Drivers in 10.6.5
    • Apple-firmware 5870, about US$450
    2) "sold in the Apple store" cards
    • NVIDIA Quadro 4000, about US$1200
    • NVIDIA Quadro 5000, about US$2500
    3) "Mac Edition" cards -- REQUIRE 10.8.3 or later:
    • SAPPHIRE HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 MAC Edition, about US$480** Vendor recommends Mac Pro 4,1
    • EVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition, about US$600
The cards above require no more than the provided two 6-pin aux power connectors provided in the Mac Pro through 2012 model. Aux cables may not be provided for third-party cards, but are readily available.
If you are Meet ALL of these:
    • running 10.8.3 or later AND
    • don't care about "no boot screens" etc AND
    • can re-wire or otherwise "work out" the power cabling, THEN:
You can use many more cards, even most "PC-only cards"

  • Are there any major problems in Scotland today (01...

My BTInternet broadband has been very slow since early this morning (perhaps earlier), I have checked everything possible here and spent over an hour on the phone to the 0800 helpline (including the "manager") but they cannot find a fault so suggested leaving a few hours and testing again.
I rang a friend afterwards and he said he knew several people having problems today.
I have tried two computers, switched off Home Hub for half an hour the restarted, did a reset to defaults on instruction from BT, connected the Home Hub direct to master socket so bypassing internal house wiring. I managed to get a figure of 179K on speedtest but most speedtesters that I have tried fail because too slow for them.  I initially realised something was very wrong when trying to take down a half hour programme on iPlayer and iplayer showing it would take about a day!
The hub is indicating 448 / 8128 and IP Profile 7000K.  I seem to remember with my previous ISP that some of these figures only measured to the card in the exchange so were not a true indication of the connection to the speed to the Internet which the 179K figure of BT Speedtester shows.
It does not seem to have got any better - is this a widespread fault or just me.

I have had a phone call from a friend on the same exchange and he has the same problem. I can't see what it can be at my end, the only thing I can't replace is the hub though I am tempted to download the settings and enter into an old one from before I moved to BT Broadband. I am going to try a third PC shortly, that has not been switched on for at least a week so eliminates possibility of a Windows or Norton update in the last day. BT Speedtest seems to show OK between me and the exchange but fault past there. We have had strong winds and rain here but if the line to the exchange was faulty then I would not be showing that part as OK. If the fault is between the exchange of the rest of the BT network then shouldn't BT be aware of it or is it the usual problem of different parts of BT not talking to each other! MB

  • Are there any known problems with firefox4 and yahoo? Ive had problems with yahoo ever since I upgraded. If there are any problems, are there any solutions?

When I check my yahoo mail, a lot of times emails will disappear, or I will click on one to read, and it will open one that is above it. Also there are times when I am on a page, and a yahoo search page will open saying page could not be found, and it wasnt even something I was doing.

You have Adware installed. Click the Firefox button, go to Add-ons | Plugins and disable '''My Web Search'''. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_web_search
Also, update Firefox to the latest version which is 4.0.1 by clicking Help | About Firefox | Check For Updates button.
In addition, update Adobe Flash via http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

  • Are there that many problems installing 10.4.3 and updating ?

I want to update my powerbook G.4 from 10.3.9 but I really need to know that should be OK..since it is really important for work....specailly under keynote. I would like to get the newer system if is more stable and I can take advantatges with it....bu I don´t want any risks....any coments or advice?
    Should I do the update?

I really like your idea of clonnig....copying the
exact system into the external harddrive and update,
Should I also clone my documents or to try the new
system is just better to start from the external new
system and work on my normal documents.....and see if
    everything works fine.
Standard practice is to do just that. Clone EVERYTHING. This is what Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper!, to name two well-known cloning apps, will do by default.
I have two external harddrives one at home the other
at work and everyday I do incremental back ups with
the Backup from Apple...Should be Ok I hope. So the
process is to update a clone of my system into an
external hard drive and work from it for a while and
if everything works fine update the system on the
    powerbook.
    That's how I do it.
My last question, when I take my poerbook
to work I will be working under system 10,3,9 and
when I arrive home under 10,4,4 on the same
documents, is that OK or I can get problems by
switching systems on the same documents....
Depends on what documents and which apps. For example, Safari and Mail will be different. Mail in particular will barf if you don't keep things consistent. It may be a pain, but booting from the external drive for a while, no matter where you are, would be best.
