AS2 Coding Massive Favour needed!!!

Hello all!
I am litterly at a dead end with this project im creating. I have posted many times on this site and have received help from many people to get this working but ive still not managed to iron out the bugs properly.
Basically I have a flash show reel in as2. There is a 'main' video and when it gets to certain points within the video 'links' appear at the top to play the full version of whats in the 'main' video.
I have made it in a very unprofessional way - consisting of a massive timeline where the links appear at the same frame as the film is. The problem with this is that when the videos 'buffer' the timeline plays and they all become out of sync. I have created some code to make the 'scrubber' (which can be moved around the video player), related to the position in the film and on the timeline. This only 'snaps' to the right frame after it has been clicked on, however. I have tried getting cuepoints as another method to work but to no avail.
I have 2 netstream video players that pause alternately when a link or the 'back' button is clicked.
Basically, all i need to work now is the bloody links to appear at the right points on the video!!!!!!
Please Please can somebody look at my code and tell me where im going wrong...and if possible add in or remove code thats conflicting. I would be very grateful as I have been trying to get this working for 5 months now!

Has anyone experienced something similar to this problem before?
To put it simply...Buttons appear at certain points in the film. They are timed with the video in frames. except they start before the video has started due to buffering. The scrubber is linked to the frame number of the swf but only seems 'snap' into it correctly once dragged around.
Would even be willing to pay a small amount for someone to help me with this!

IPhone 4 Massive Help Needed

My computer is a Windows Vista and I have the iPhone 4. And before anyone says "Restart your computer, reinstall all Apple products like iTunes blah blah" yes I have already done these at least 5 times. I am looking for an actual solution.
Ok so I today I opened up my iTunes to get iOS 7 for my iPhone 4. Everything was normal, I was prompted to download iOS 7, and the download began. Once the download finished; however, my phone went into recovery mode and it is no longer recognized by iTunes.
Every time I plug-in my iPhone, I get a pop-up saying "Found New Hardware" saying "Windows needs to install driver software for your Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)" with 3 options of Locating and Installing, Ask me again later, and Don't show this message again. When I try to Locate and Install, it never works because I don't have a disk. The other 2 options don't do anything.
I go to Device Manage (prompted by the support pages). I see 2 "Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)" listed under "Other Devices" just like a picture has it on the support page... BUT when I click the buttom that says "If you see two "Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)" entries with exclamation marks on them:" then it says that they should be found under "USB Composite Device" which I cannot find anywhere in the Device Manager because they are under "Other Devices".
So basically, I can't get my iPhone recognized by iTunes, and then when I go to the support pages, my problem can't be fixed because it's not in there. Has anyone ever had this problem before? If so I need to know ASAP.

It sounds like you are no longer able to see your iPhone in iTunes, and you are unable to find the Apple Mobile Device software is not installing correctly. I would recommend the following information from the article:

iOS devices require Apple Mobile Device Support, which should be automatically installed with iTunes. To verify whether it is installed, follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below.
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Click Start and choose Control Panel. Click "Uninstall a program" (or if using Windows Vista's Classic View of the Control Panel, click "Programs and Features"). Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs.
If Apple Mobile Device Support is not listed, remove iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support, and then reinstall iTunes. Follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below:
Reinstall iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

THANKS for the answers. They are very helpful. However, one of the problems is it is very difficult to convety exactly what we are asking for in these forums.
I am NOT a programmer but I do know what I need. These answers were very helpful in the learning process as you guys are REAL pros. I have ended up with a mixture.
On each frame on the Timeline I write the instructions ie: Frame 1:_root.sunny.gotoAndPlay("speak) then on Frame 2:_root.sunny.gotoAndPlay("laugh).
The key is to write on the last frame of the nested mcs: _root.nextFrame(); in this way I don't need to write a specific instruction inside the nested mc ONLY on the main timeline and therefore keep the code really "clean".
It serves as a GREAT template to create movie scenes. I have seen this information asked for on many sites but with inadequate answers given.
I hope this serves as a great lesson for other NON pros but with serious projects.People are still using the main timeline to tween between key frames when they could be using AS. It's ridiculous but NOBODY seems to teach it well. Not even good sites like cartoon smart etc...

Easy AS2 script btn advice needed pls,

I have a nav bar movie clip in a flash document imbedded as swf in an html page. I want the button on release to go to a particular frame of a flash timeline imbedded as swf in another html page.
The html page is in a different folder at the same level, so ../ works to get to the html page. But then I dont know how to drill into the flash time line from there.
Any help appreciated, thank you.

then this isn't going to be the easiest thing for you. you need to:
1. use getURL() to open your other html page, append a query string to the url that indicates the frame you want to display in the other swf
2. add a javascript function to the other html page that returns location.href when called
3. call that javascript function from your other swf (using the externalinterface class) and finally
4. use preloader code in your other swf to ensure the needed frame is loaded and execute your goto to display the desired frame.

Flash 8 AS2 coding not working

We have an application that creates a page turner type of
documents. We have a player to put it all together but one of our
client wants to import this in Presenter.
We created a "loader" type of swf to load the application and
kept the rest of the player, trimmed down, but we have issue with
the "flipping page" feature. It use the flash.display.BitmapData
package that comes in Flash 8, but it looks like it is not working.
The content is not redrawn to the curve, the image is tiled in the
area it is supposed to fill. We had this problem once when the
player we had was compiled in Flash 7.
Is it possible that the flash version that Presenter use is
not 8? Even if the documentation say that Flash 8 is the minimum to
view the content. Is there a workaround or update to F8 in the
pipes?

Your not the only one who is having troble with flash. I here
to find help with the same situation. My friend has installed
version 9 and can't view anything on the internet that uses flash.
But the other account user can. Whats up. All internet options are
the same...

Loader (Need help to convert from AS3 to AS2)

Since I know this code works fine and that I use it into one of my AS3 flash, I need it in one of my AS2 flash and I don't know how to adapt it. I've searched in over 100 threads and I can't find something similar... Thanks to help me get it to work in AS2! Since I need it in AS2, I thought it would be the right place to post it.
I posted all the loading process code, but I would need help mostly with the Loader part. How to do it in AS2? Thanks!

If you look at the Flash help documentation for the addListener metod of the MovieClipLoader class, there is an erxample there that you should hopefully be able to work from. It will be better if you get your stuff coded into AS2 before you pursue more help with it. IT is difficult to tell you how to fix something if you don't show what you are using.

I need a good FINDER (CTRL+F) add on. For some reason mine is not finding the .css coding on the template when trying to edit it. Anyone know whats going on ?

i am trying to EDIT a .css file on a website. Its a template from the website ( highwire.com ) When i am trying to find certain color codes #FFFFFF for example my finder (CTRL+F) wont find it but when i scroll down i see that there is some on the .css file. anyone know a good add on to actually find my coding when typed in.. I need to change alot of the colors from green to yellow and oranges to blue. The .css is over 1700 lines of coding.. just need some quick find and replace addon.

You seem to have a lot of #fff codes in the CSS files that obviously aren't found with the long #ffffff search term (#fff finds them)
Make sure that the match case box isn't selected on the Find bar (Ctrl+F)

JAVA ASSISTANCE NEEDED IN DOING FIRST APPLET !

I start a new project and the JBuilder gives each
new project a new name of course but it also carries over

If you code it yourself, instead of using some massively complexifying IDE, you could probably do it in about 20-30 lines. Heck, I'll do it right here (but watch out for typos, I'm notorious for them):

I've never asked anyone if they could help me out in this way before, I normally try to ask for tips and have a crack at learning myself, but on this one I am up against a tight deadline and can make nothing of it, so would really really appreciate it is someone could help me out please?

You have to read about the pen tool and practice now hwrre as this is not difficult to do it is a bit time consuming perhaps about fifteen minutes and some of these guys here can do it in like 3 to 5 minutes.
It is several shapes on top of one another if you do not get the paths correct right away you can adjust the curves using the direct select tool and clicking an anchor and adjusting the handles and you can move the nachor points as well.
You also make shapes for the gradients by copyong the underlying shapes and placig them on top of the under lying shapes using the layers panel for the gradient overlays use a blending mode of Multiply which you assign with the transparency panel read about the transparenc panel as well in the help files.
Here is the anatomy of the art. Also sty calm you can fix if after you draw if it is a little messy. Yu should probably trace the art though I never trace someone else's art.

No Compatibility for AS2 FLAs? Absurd.

Love the dark interface - been waiting a long time for that actually. Never knew why it didn't happen when Photoshop got it. But very dissapointed that I cannot open FLAs with AS2 in them, perform an update, and simply export them back out.
Yea yea... I heard it - Adobe doesn't "support" AS2 anymore. But that doesn't mean that new products we are paying for should have zero "compatibility" with our previous work. Opening , editing, and closing an AS2 -based FLA file does not mean I am refusing to get on board with AS3 after a million years. It is a simple necessity. I prefer AS3 for coding to AS2. I get the focus on the latest scripting rev. I get that it uses the better VM that runs 10 times more efficiently blah blah - so better for mobile etc. (probably the motivator here). So, no longer "supporting" AS2 programmers - as in being there to help/encourage people who still write it etc - is understandable at this stage. BUT to disable the ability to open a legacy file with AS2 in it - perform a simple edit and reexport it - is a horrific decision. Here is just one real world example of why.
The group I work with has developed HUNDREDS of learning modules and tools over the last DECADE using Flash. Some of tools are complex interactive games etc - that require updates from time to time based on requests. Am I supposed to entirely recode them so I can use my new software? This as opposed to spending 15 minutes on an update and export? Each lesson module uses a custom designed AS2-coded shell environment that loads - on average - 30-50 external swf files - all coded in AS2 themselves because the shells cannot load AS3. To go backwards and reprogram the shells themselves (very complex), as well as all the interactivity and videos and buttons and audio and testing that is inside these shell-loaded swf files (numbering in the thousands likely) would be an enormous and absurdly wasteful undertaking.They regularly need small or minute updates to their content - mere text changes here and there even - previously taking only minutes to perform. Now, if I export the swf, it will be AS3 and won't work. These updates are done regularly. Are we supposed to now say "hey - client - guess what - your stuff needs to be completely retooled for no good reason - even tho it runs beautifully as-is" ?? I can't even open an FLA and export it out if it has AS2 in it??? I don't expect Adobe "support" in regards to new AS2 projects, but backwards "compatibility" is another thing. Some people have a ton of work still being used on a regular basis that was written prior to AS3 being the standard - and the clients don't care about AS3 - they care about their budgets.
I will have to keep Flash CS6 installed apparently, even tho I pay 50 bucks a month for the CC. Flash - for many of us interactive devs, who build stuff for government contracts and/or big companies that are still running IE7 and IE8 across their corporations (with no intention of updating anytime in the near future - believe it) have no option other than Flash, so we still spend an incredible amount of time in this tool. I can't just kick out static down-staged images for these guys with my magical Edge Animate software. Great product too - which I use for other things - but not the silver bullet of online animation/interactivity by any stretch of the imagination.

I work for a large company with a ton of legacy files that need updating periodically.
Just had to work on something just the other day because the path to a server needed updating.
This would be impossible to do in Flash.CC unless I recoded the whole app.
Nobody is going to pay for that when it works perfectly already for years.
If you have to maintain legacy code for several sites you need to be able to edit any file you have ever created.
I started out with Flash 4 ( 1998 ) and have had every single version since.
Even when there was very little offered in the upgrade.
I will not be using Flash.CC though.
1) I need to edit legacy files.
2) I will not rent software.
3) I do not agree with the restrictions imposed by CC
4) There is no way to edit new files created in Flash.CC if you quit.
Saving as CS6 version will loose forward features added in Flash.CC
( Exporting to Dart would be an example );
I could think of more reasons but whats the point.
These are my gripes with Adobe.
1) Went to a "rent to use" software model.
2) Ended support for mobile browsers.
3) Removed design view from FlashBuilder.
4) Cant edit legacy files in Flash.CC
I am also sad to see Fireworks go bye bye.
That was also in my original Macromedia Suite along with Dreamweaver.
I have upgraded those too over the years.
I'm sure that Dreamweaver will be next on the chopping block.
Guess we have little choice but to stick with what works.
I have recently been tasked with converting our video chat product to HTML5/CSS3/JS
I decided to use Sencha for the framework.
Although I have been able to recreate the interface and most of the functionality there are some huge roadblocks only Flash can handle.
1) Broadcast your Webcam/Microphone via any Desktop browser or Mobile app.
2) RTMP support for live video encoded from a browser or app, RemoteSharedObjects and onSync events.
So I guess I will be stuck in the muck along with you.
Shame on Adobe for self destructing and alienating its long time fatefull customers.

Contact form-checkbox PHP coding doesnt work

I am a beginner to web page design so i would be grateful if you can explain to me what PHP coding i would need for 'Checkbox' and where to place it in the PHP coding below. I can submit the form to my email with all the headings and the filled in forms with checkbox Yes or No.
Only problem i have is that part of the check box info appear right at the top of the email message rather than the 'Name', 'Tel', 'Email' etc..Another half of the checkbox appear where it suppose to be wih double heading as shown below. I would also like to remove the <br> from the email message. Can you also tell me how to change the colour for heading so its clear.

Thank you so much for the clear explanation. I have been using Lynda.com Dreamweaver CS5 tutorial. I found the coding for checkbox through search and added to the coding from Lynda.com tutorial.
I made few changes to the coding by removing:
$msg = "$rearExt<br>\r\n$sideExt<br>\r\n$twoStoreyRear<br>\r\n
          $twoStoreySide<br>\r\n$loft<br>\r\n$newBuild<br>\r\n$flat<br>\r\n$other\r\n";
as the email message shows the results from the checkbox twice.
I also removed the <br> from:

Not able to generate AS2 MDN when receiving custom XML via AS2

Hi friends,
I have setup the trading partner and the corresponding TP certificate import for receiving the custom XML via AS2 channel.
I am receiving the custom xml properly to oracle b2b and able to receive the same to bpel as well. however in the oracle b2b console under reports tab i am seeing only one record for inbound document receive and i am not seeing the other record for the AS2 MDN going back to vendor. I have setup the AS2 channel under the external trading partner --> Channel using the vendor AS2 URL and selected all the security parameters while creating the Outbound AS2 channel.
1. Not able to generate AS2 MDN when receiving custom XML via AS2.
2. eventhough i am able to decrypt the inbound custom XML and ablr to recieve it in bpel also for processing, in the reports tab the inbound message state is changing to MSG_ERROR and it has the folloing error message:

for AS2 MDN generation for custom XML receiving using As2 protocol, do we need to setup anything other than the outbound As2 Channel using the external vendor AS2 URL?
Can you please help me how can i generate the AS2 MDN for the inbound custom XML document i have received and also why the inbound message is failing even though i am receiving the custom XML properly to bpel?

Vendor has enabled the ACK mode as SYNC.
