[AS2 CS3/4] Embed external FLV into an MC using AS2 with timeline control

Hi, Is there anyway to skip the process of manually embedding
FLVs into SWF files? I want to load FLVs just as I would an
external SWF.
I've searched all over and all i can find is how to load FLVs
into a FLVPlayer component with stop, play and controls to skip in
time intervals.
What I need is the ability to load an external FLV and be
able to control it as if it were in a MC on the timeline, not as a
streaming video.
There are SO many questions out there about the FLVPlayer its
really polluted any and all search results i've tried.
Shedding some light on this for me would be greately
appreciated!!!

For anyone looking for an actual solution to this issue. If
you're exporting movies out of After Effects, you can export as a
SWF.
The only reason I didn't know about this solution is that its
not included in the render que options, so just select your comp,
go to File > Export and select the setting for exporting as a
SWF.
Thank you kglad for the info

  • How to sync the album and track info that I entered into a CD using iTunes with the actual disc?

    Hello,
I recently recorded some cover songs, and I imported them into iTunes. So, after entering the track info (track names and album art) into each track using "Get Info", I burned them to a CD. I was completely shocked that the track info and album artwork did not get inputted onto the CD. So, I entered the track info, but could not add the album artwork.
How to add the album artwork is not as important a question. But it's one of my 2.75 questions.
My other issue is that the info that I put on the CD using iTunes is only visible within iTunes. Therefore, I cannot get the track names elsewhere.
    My 2.5 questions are:
    1) How do I get the track and album info to display in Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player (and the touchscreen CD Player in the car)?
    2) How do I add digital album artwork to the CD (so that it shows on the touchscreen CD Player in the car - if iPods have the artwork and it shows on the car's screen, a CD should be able to show the artwork on the car's screen, when talking about limitations of the car)
2.5) How do I make that artwork display across everywhere I plug that disc into?
2.75) How do I ensure that when others import my CD, my artwork, track names, and album name also import from the CD?
I have already burnt the CD, so I would prefer a way to tweak the properties of the already burnt CD rather than burning a whole new disc.
    Thank you!
    -Royce

    1) Metadata visibility in Windows Explorer and/or Windows Media Player depends on OS version and file type. The mp3 format has the widest support. As for the touchscreen CD Player in your car who can say? If it can play data discs the results will be better than with audio CD. If it can display CD text then this option should be selected when creating an audio CD.
    2) Artwork cannot be attached to the tracks on an audio CD. If your car system supports it all then it will be with data discs. Check the specifications of the system for the media types it can support on a data disc.
2.5) Simply ensure the artwork is embedded in the tag.
I have two scripts that can help with this, CreateFolderArt and EmbedFolderArt.
The scripts have a slightly different purpose.
CreateFolderArt ensures that every album folder ends up with a Folder.jpg image which is the art that iTunes already knows about. Side effects are that if artwork has been updated in iTunes the folder art should be updated also, and if any track from the album doesn't have embedded artwork it gets embedded.
EmbedFolderArt was actually written for someone who already had various artwork images stored in the folders and wanted them added to their tracks, but not if iTunes had already downloaded a better quality image.
2.75) Again, use a data disc format. Note that you should not be giving away copies of copyrighted material.
Audio CDs are finalized, you cannot change any properties of them unless they are on rewritable media in which case you can erase the whole disc and start over.

  • Embed YouTube video into SCORM (HTML5) using Captivate 7?

    Hi there,
I am using Captivate 7 to produce a SCORM compliant HTML5 course - this course includes a video, however when I have tried to upload the video directly, it pauses/doesn't play well in our LMS.  As such I wanted to try embedding/streaming the video from Youtube instead. The video is unlisted (as it is an internal course).  I've had a hunt of the forums but can't seem to work out how to do this?
Note: When I try going to Video > Insert Video, then Event Video > Already Deployed... entering the Youtube url - It doesn't work and I receive the following message: "Failed to load the video file. The file parth or the URL may be invalid. Do you want to change the file part or the URL".  I am using Adobe Captivate 7 version 7.0.1.237 (in case it helps).
    Any and all help appreciated.
    Nicole

    Thanks for the quick response!
Re: Widget - does it work with HTML5?  I found a couple forums that seemed to suggest it doesn't...
Also, when you say the full YouTube URL - where do I get this from?  I (embarrassingly) didn't realise there were two different ones.
    Thanks again,
    Nicole

  • I have a Seagate 3TB external hard drive and was using it with time machine on my old system with Snow Leopard and it was working smoothly. I have now upgraded to Mavericks and when I tried setting up time machine again, it did not work.

The OS does not detect the drive when I start the system, but Disk Utility shows the disk as an external drive. I seem to be going around in circles. Please take a look at the following screen grabs for the errors I am getting.

But When I verify The sub-partition in the Disk (disk4s2), it asks me to repair disk. When I try to repair disk, it gives me this error.

After upgrading my Flash player to version 9, I get a very
noticeable pause when loading an External FLV into a custom FLV

buffering/loading animation movie clip that also locks upafter the
initial call to the NetStream.play method. The longer the video,
the longer the pause. The video eventually plays but this initial
    behavior is definitely undesired.
I also noticed that the browser (IE 6.0.2900) itself locks up

  • When I call an external program from Labview, how can I embed the interface into the front panel?

I'm running Labiew 6i for Linux. I'm using a system exec.vi to call an external program to do image manipulation (since there is no IMAQ for linux). How can I embed the user interface of the external program into the front panel of Labview?

As far as I know, the only way to embed other GUIs in LabView is an ActiveX in a container.
As long as you are using Linux, try to place (moving them on the desktop ) the two windows linked (like those 3 of WinAmp).

Could you please help me to embed an external view into a tabbed menu in WebDynpro Java?
    Please help with your solutions.
    Thank you.

    hi sari,
Inside tabbed menu you can't use external view.
For your problem you can do .
         1. copy your external view ui element from root elements..
         2. paste into seprate tabs.
    Another Solution
         1. Inside window controller you can create view set in two division..
         2. First Devision for your navigation menu .
         3. Second Devision For your External views

  • Load external FLV files?

I would like my desktop AIR app (built in Flash CS3) to load

    Level: status
    Code: NetStream.Buffer.Flush

  • NaN with loading external flv

    Hi all
I'm having some strange diffulties which I can't solve.
I'm starting off with a website.swf which loads different
external swf's depending on the button that has been pressed.
One of those swf's is a file with different buttons to load
    different external flv's.
While loading a flv a progressbar shows the percentage of the
    loaded part of the flv
Now: If I play the first video file everything works fine
While switching to another button to load another flv during
the loading of the first flv, My percentage says NaN. and stops
    loading.

    _parent.videoloader_mc.unloadMovie();

  • Existing 'load external .flv' code?

Recently, I found a great little Flash  project that acts like a jukebox for external mp3 song files, and am using it on my website to play my song demos.
I'm now trying to find if there is an existing solution like that for video.  I just need some way to progressively download video files from my webspace when the thumbnail is clicked... and am now looking into some sort of Flash jukebox.
I've tried just embedding the video files into HTML, but they don't progressively download for some reason (even though they are saved as Progressive With Compressed Header).  I've even tried using prettyPhoto (...a script that mimics a Lightbox like feature, where the whole page dims, and a floating window appears over your site, displaying any media, and allowing you to move back/forth through your list of media)..... works great, but again, not a progressive download, so you stare at a blank screen for a while.
Seems the only way it works is if I have the file on YouTube or some other site, then embed it or use the prettyPhoto app.
So, can someone either tell me how to make the embedded file download (OT, but I figured I'd ask), or point at some existing Flash file that serves as a video jukebox, showing all media on a common window?

    Hi,
You can load external .flv files which is placed on your web server. You have to add a small amount of AS3 code into your flash document. Please click on the below link
    http://www.adobe.com/livedocs/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/flash/media/Video.html
Please use the sample code which is provided in the bottom of the page. In the code, you will find a line
    private var videoURL:String = "Video.flv";
In the above line, instead of "Video.flv", you have to give your webserver path like http://www.domainname.com/foldername/videofilename.flv
(The above code does the progressive download of an video)
You can play the video through progressive download, by click on an image. To achieve that, you need to place the above code inside the mouse click function of an image.
    Thanks

  • LoadMovie- loading an external swf into movieclip in AS3

Im extremely frustrated.........im trying to do something
that was once very simple, which has now become over complicated
unecessecarily.....i want to do a simple loadMovie type action and
load an external clip into a movieclip called ph. my AS2 code would
    be:
    loadMovie("ExternalMovieClip.swf","ph");
    or
    on(release) {
    loadMovie("ExternalMovieClip.swf","ph");
This no longer works. Can somebody tell me the new code that
i would use with AS3 to do exactly what i just demonstrated? I
honestly dont even want to touch AS3. The only reason i want to use
it is because it makes skinning the components SOOOOOO much easier
than AS2. That is the one and only reason im trying to convert to
AS3. All the new load movie AS3 examples ive seen on google look
like half a page long to do what i used to do in 2 lines. There
must be a simpler and much easier way. I am a designer. It looks to
me like Adobe went back to making flash for programmers only again
leaving us designers out of the mix. Someone please help me, im
desperate. I also have other old code that im sure im going to have
to convert to AS3 for it to still work, and i may eventually need
help with that as well, but ill stick with this loadMovie problem
for now. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks

    have a look here:
    http://www.smithmediafusion.com/blog/?p=381
    use this:
    var i =new Loader();
    i.load(new URLRequest(”yourSwf.swf”));
    myMC.addChild(i)
myMC is the name of your clip on the stage.

  • Controlling external flv with ActionScript

I'm using the NetStream Class to control the playback of an
external flv. I've got a Pause/Play button using .pause, and Fast
Forward and Rewind buttons using .seek. What I want to do is once
the video is done playing to automatically reset back to the
beginning of the video, allowing the user to press play to view the
video again without having to reload the page. Right now when the
video finishes, the user has to rewind the video in order to watch
it again. I thought I could use .time to determine when the video
reaches the end to go back to "0" in the video playhead but so far
I have not been able to get this to work. Any ideas would be
appreciated. Currently everything is done in frame one of the swf.
    Thanks.

    >>I think obviously there is a difference between FMS
and Flash MX04. The documents I
    >>refer to are built into the help menu in Flash 7 and
8 both include the onStatus event

Yeah you're right onPlayStatus isn't in the NetStream class
Flash documentation as this is more about using this class for
progressive download, whereas the documentation i linked to
referred to the NetStream class used in FMS Client-side scripting
    for streaming video.
    >>I made a mistake. I meant NetStream.Play.Stop –
which was very poorly named. That
    >>is what onStatus will return when it reaches the end.
It isn't really "stop" it is "complete."
    >>So I tend to read it as such!
NetStream.Play.Stop does seem to be very similar to
NetStream.Play.Complete in progressive downloads. however i know
you can't guarantee that NetStream.Play.Stop occurs at the same
time as NetStream.Play.Complete in a streaming video through FMS,
as a NetStream.Play.Stop can occur for reasons other than
    completion.
    >>...My guess is that when they took the bits from FMS

    >>very good job. They purposefully renamed onPlayStatus
    to onStatus...
onStatus does still exist in FMS Client side scripting...
    >> – with a limited variety of events returned
    (What is Switch?)
switch refers to playlists - only relevant to FMS streams.
Anyway, it appears as though all of this talk of the FMS is
