Asking help for insert anydataset(CLOB type) into anydataset col please.

I am using anydataset as a column type. after referring to the demo anydset.sql:
can run then following correctly:
declare
as1 Sys.AnyDataSet;
at1 Sys.AnyType ;
cl1 clob ;
begin
Sys.AnyDataSet.BeginCreate(DBMS_TYPES.TYPECODE_CLOB,at1,as1);
for i in 1..2 loop
     as1.AddInstance();
     cl1 := to_clob(rpad('Clob',i*10,'Clob')) ;
     as1.SetClob(cl1) ;
end loop ;
as1.EndCreate();
--anydataset_display_value(as1);
end ;
while if just added one sql to update the cell value to as1 as following:
declare
as1 Sys.AnyDataSet;
at1 Sys.AnyType ;
cl1 clob ;
begin
Sys.AnyDataSet.BeginCreate(DBMS_TYPES.TYPECODE_CLOB,at1,as1);
for i in 1..2 loop
     as1.AddInstance();
     cl1 := to_clob(rpad('Clob',i*10,'Clob')) ;
     as1.SetClob(cl1) ;
end loop ;
as1.EndCreate();
--anydataset_display_value(as1);
update dumatmp.tbad set colanydataset1 = as1 where id = 0;
end ;
I got :
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-22370: incorrect usage of method AnyData Insert
ORA-06512: at line 14
why? I know that we did not support embedded LOBs in anydata, is it the same for anydataset and documented?
Thanks a lot, hope can got response asap, happy Christmas!

Also, you should always close your resources in finally blocks. So not this:
try {
  st.executeUpdate(query);
  st.close();
} catch (SQLException ex) {
  Logger.getLogger(Parqueadero.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
}because if executeUpdate throws an exception, the close() method is not called. Do this instead:
try {
  st.executeUpdate(query);
} catch (SQLException ex) {
  Logger.getLogger(Parqueadero.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
} finally {
  st.close();
}That way the close method is always called no matter what happens.
I'm also a bit confused by a method which closes a resource which it didn't create. The general rule of thumb is that if you (some piece of code) create a resource, you should also close it. But your statement object is being created by a static method from some other class. For all I know that could be getting a statement from a "statement pool" of some kind and you shouldn't be closing it in this method.
Of course there are plenty of exceptions to that rule of thumb, but I'm not convinced that this code is one of them.
And it is completely normal for new programmers to finish a project and then immediately want to improve it by rewriting and redesigning. And that's not limited to new programmers, either. Management advice of the form "Be prepared to throw away the first version" dates back at least to the 1970's. However, you should beware of the "second system effect" which is described in [The Mythical Man-Month|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mythical_Man-Month].

  • Asking help for INSERT, DELETE, UPDATE, SELECT

    I have to build a program that is like a bridge from the dabase hsqldb and the final user.
    So the user has the options of SERCH, EDIT, INSERT or DELETE a register/field/row whatever.
    Remember that the values are entered by the user, so I don't know the field to be edited, deleted, etc...
    I would thank a lot if you could put some code to do all these operations.
    But please, if you won't post the codes please don't post nothing else.
    I need the example codes!
    Thanks if you can give me a hand.

    I Just need to understand what's wrong with my code:
    // call this when user presses insert button...
    public void insertRegister() {
    String title = "Inserting new register...";
    String tempId = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter ID Client:", title, 3);
    int id = Integer.parseInt(tempId);
    String name = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter name Client:", title, 3);
    String tel = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter tel Client:", title, 3);
    try {
    // Setting up the PreparedStatement
    PreparedStatement preparedStatement = connection.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO CLIENTS (id_client, name_client, tel_client) VALUES(?,?,?)");
    // Now we insert the real values for PreparedStatement and execute it!
    preparedStatement.setInt(1, id);
    preparedStatement.setString(2, name.toUpperCase());
    preparedStatement.setString(3, tel);
    preparedStatement.executeUpdate();

    PreparedStatement preparedStatement = connection.prepareStatement("DELETE FROM CLIENTS WHERE id_client = ?");
    String tempId = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter ID Client to be deleted:", "Deleting register...", 3);
    int id = Integer.parseInt(tempId);
    preparedStatement.setInt(1, id);
    preparedStatement.executeUpdate();

    // Of couse I don't want anyone coding for me...
    // But if I'm not asking too much, just please someone tell me what's wrong with my code, and how to fix it. That's all.

  • Wscompile insertion of schema types into wsdl file

    The <types/> element is empty in my WSDL file after I compile the web service with wscompile. The operation parameter type is String. I am using Apache XMLBeans. How do I configure wscompile in JWSDP 2.0 to insert the schema types into the WSDL file when it generates the WSDL?
    Thank you,
    Glenn

    The targetnamespace is used define the namespace for the definitions made in your schema.
    For example,
    <xsd:schema
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    targetNamespace="foo">
    <xsd:complexType name="fred">
    </xsd:complexType>
    Then "Fred" will be in the "foo" namespace
    And if you had another schema in your wsdl like
    <xsd:schema
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    targetNamespace="bar">
    <xsd:complexType name="fred">
    </xsd:complexType>
    Then you would have two "fred" types one in the "foo" namespace and one in the "bar" namespace.
    Then later on in your WSDL you could refer to either one.

  • Need help for importing oracle 10G dump into 9i database

    hi, Someone help me to import oracle 10G dump into 9i database. I'm studying oracle . Im using oracle 10G developer suite(downloaded from oracle) and oracle 9i database. I saw some threads tat we can't import the higher version dumps into lower version database. But i'm badly need help for importing the dump...
    or
    someone please tell me the site to download oracle 9i Developer suite as i can't find it in oracle site...

    I didnt testet it to import a dump out of a 10g instance into a 9i instance if this export has been done using a 10g environment.
    But it is possible to perform an export with a 9i environment against a 10g instance.
    I am just testing this with a 9.2.0.8 environment against a 10.2.0.4.0 instance and is working so far.
    The system raises an EXP-00008 / ORA-37002 error after exporting the data segments (exporting post-schema procedural objects and actions).
    I am not sure if it is possible to perform an import to a 9i instance with this dump but maybe worth to give it a try.
    It should potentially be possible to export at least 9i compatible objects/segments with this approach.
    However, I have my doubts if this stunt is supported by oracle ...

  • Need help with inserting 10MB CLOB

    Hi,
    I have an urgent issue and desperately need some help.
    There are several files on a FTP server that I need to insert their contents into a CLOB type column. One of the files has more than 10MB contents. What I've been doing is after connection is made to the FTP server, read in the contents in a file line by line into a String, then execute a SQL INSERT statement to insert a new record into the target table.
    +//.... make connection, read in files and parse into a String variable called fileContents+
    String psInsert = "Insert into FileTrack (Name, Contents) values";
    PreparedStatment ps = conn.prepareStatement(psInsert "(?,?)");+
    ps.setString(1, "some name");
    ps.setObject(2, fileContents);
    ps.executeUpdate();
    The above works fine for all other smaller files, except the 10MB one. The error I got was SQLCODE: -302, SQLSTATE: 22001, which is about not enough space issue. So I increased the CLOB column size and made sure it doesn't exceed the initial CLOB size setting and the database has plenty of space for storing this 10MB file. Still, I got the same error.
    Then I tried the following:
    ps.setObject(2, fileContents, java.sql.Types.CLOB);
    Failed with same error...
    Then I tried this:
    FileInputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(fileContents);
    ps.setAsciiStream(2, inputStream, (int)()fileContents.length()));
    Still failed with the same error....
    Then I changed to ps.setCharStream()... still failed....
    What other options do I have to insert the 10MB contents? Can someone please help?
    Thanks heaps in advance!!

    we're still trying to upload that CLOB. Takes a while over this 2400bps modem ;)

  • How can i insert  more clob objects into oracle9i?

    my env:
    os: windows server 2003 ent sp2
    php:=5.2.3
    oracle : 9.0.0.8
    i look at this article :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/oracle_php_cookbook/fuecks_lobs.html
    but ,i want insert two clob into the oracle ....
    Inserting a LOB
    To INSERT an internal LOB, you first need to initialize the LOB using the respective Oracle EMPTY_BLOB or EMPTY_CLOB functions—you cannot update a LOB that contains a NULL value.
    Once initialized, you then bind the column to a PHP OCI-Lob object and update the LOB content via the object's save() method.
    The following script provides an example, returning the LOB type from the INSERT query:
    <?php
    // connect to DB etc...
    $sql = "INSERT INTO
    mylobs
    id,
    mylob
    VALUES
    mylobs_id_seq.NEXTVAL,
    --Initialize as an empty CLOB
    EMPTY_CLOB()
    RETURNING
    --Return the LOB locator
    mylob INTO :mylob_loc";
    $stmt = oci_parse($conn, $sql);
    // Creates an "empty" OCI-Lob object to bind to the locator
    $myLOB = oci_new_descriptor($conn, OCI_D_LOB);
    // Bind the returned Oracle LOB locator to the PHP LOB object
    oci_bind_by_name($stmt, ":mylob_loc", $myLOB, -1, OCI_B_CLOB);
    // Execute the statement using , OCI_DEFAULT - as a transaction
    oci_execute($stmt, OCI_DEFAULT)
    or die ("Unable to execute query\n");
    // Now save a value to the LOB
    if ( !$myLOB->save('INSERT: '.date('H:i:s',time())) ) {
    // On error, rollback the transaction
    oci_rollback($conn);
    } else {
    // On success, commit the transaction
    oci_commit($conn);
    // Free resources
    oci_free_statement($stmt);
    $myLOB->free();
    // disconnect from DB etc.
    ?>

    Use something like:
    sql = "INSERT INTO mylobs (id, mylob1, mylob2) VALUES
    (mylobs_id_seq.NEXTVAL, EMPTY_CLOB(), EMPTY_CLOB()) RETURNING
    mylob1, mylob2 INTO :mylob_loc1, :mylob_loc2";
    You'll need to allocated two lob descriptors and bind both to the statement.

    hi zhao,
    welcome to sdn,
    for your requirement u can use bdc to upload file to internal table then u can update these internal table fileds to sap tables.
    or
    use <b>gui_upload</b> function module to upload data to internal table then u can use just <b>insert</b> keyword to update sap tables.
    see this sample code to update the database table <b>edpar</b>,

  • Help for insert logic

    Hi,
    I need insert data into data in below format.
    In procedure IN parameter will recieve all below fields with underscore(_) and records with coma (,) sepate.Then i need to split and insert finally.Could ypu please help.
    For ex:
    procedure IN parameter will recieve i/p like below
    'C2-159411_2011_NOVEMBER_21-FEB-12_048991_003072_BIOLOGY_HL_PAPER TWO__45,
    C2-159433_2011_NOVEMBER_26-FEB-12_003767_000434_BUS.& MAN._EE_EXTENDED ESSAY__15'
    then i need to split like
    first record:C2-159411,2011,NOVEMBER,21-FEB-12,048991,003072,BIOLOGY,HL,PAPER TWO,45
    second record:C2,159433,2011,NOVEMBER,26-FEB-12,003767,000434,BUS.& MAN.,EE,EXTENDED ESSAY,15
    insert INTO eur_c2_requests

    Generally passing multiple values in a single parameter is not a good approach. Any solution to parse such parameter can break at some point of time based on the value passed.
    But any way there are lot of ways to parse such strings. One is like this.

  • Function Module for F4 Help for stext ( table Hrp000 ) type field

    Hello all,
    I have defined one selection parameter as "Event_NAME FOR HRP1000-STEXT" .
    But while running the program, system does not provide any drop down for Event_Name,just displaying it as a text field. I wanted a drop down that contains all entries of STEXT in Hrp1000.
    For that I have written following code to make drop down available for event name in selection screen.The code is working fine.But the issue is that i can just select one value from the list on selection screen.I need multiple selections.How can i do that??
    PARAMETERS : EV_NAME LIKE HRP1000-STEXT AS LISTBOX VISIBLE LENGTH 50.
    PARAMETERS : EV_GRP LIKE HRP1000-STEXT AS LISTBOX VISIBLE LENGTH 50.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR EV_NAME.

  • Need help for SRM-6 Data Extraction into Bi-7

    Hi Experts,
    I am looking for help regarding SRM DataSource Extraction to BW. I am working on BW project and need to extract data from SRM Data Source 0BBP_TD_CONTR_2 and 0SRM_TD_PRO. I need to know about the extraction process from SRM. Is there a tool available like LO Cockpit in SRM for extraction and how can we manage the delta in it. Or i can use the T-code RSA5 for that and follow the normal process.  If I can get some documentation that can give me an idea for data extraction and delta management  in SRM that would be appreciated. Any kind of help will be welcome.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    At the ok prompt, type 'printenv' make sure the last variable 'diag-switch' is set to false. If its true, set it by using setenv diag-switch? false
    also, what is your boot-device set to? is it disk, can you see your disk?
    try 'probe-scsi' to make sure you have a disk to boot off. It may be your disk is not bootable, therefore its trying to boot off the network
    Hope this helps.

    any way if I have understood your question
    I will suppose that you have 3 tables Department ,service and Has_service
    and I supose that you have already the entry in table department and service
    Here is what I would do ...
    while(I have something to insert )
       insert into Has_service values (department,service )
    }
