ASO and loading percentages

I have a measure that is a loaded percentage. Then I have a formula that references this percentage. In BSO, I would do a calc and then do a backcalc so that the percentage in total wasn't something like 2000000%. Obviously I can't write a back calc and I can't ask the users to only pull level zero of every dimension. How is this typically handled in ASO without writing some crazy MDX formula?

Just to clarify a little further.
I have two members in my accounts dimension
PD%
PD$ = [PD%] * [Volume]
I am loading PD% to level zero members in my product dimension. When I pull an upper level member in the product or any other dimension, it will obviously be giving me a very large number which I am ok with.
When pulling level zero products, PD$ provides the correct results. If I pull any upper level member, I would like to retrieve a summed up amount, not have the formula calculated at that level. Any suggestions?

Export - import between ASO and BSO cubes of different structure

Hi everybody!
I have a 'large' ASO cube with information for a period of several years.
I need to be able to load a smaller slice (e.g. one quarter) from the 'large' cube into a BSO cube with a different (simpler) structure , perform calculations and then load the updated data back to the 'large' ASO cube.
What's the best way to approach this (import - export)?

I'm running version 9.3.1
The ASO cube has 12 dimensions plus 8 attribute dimensions.
The BSO cube - 8 dimensions plus 2 attribute dimensions.
Data size:
The ASO cube is about 1 GB, about 16 M input level cells. Only about 10 % of it will be extracted and loaded into the BSO cube.
The BSO cube is ~ 300 MB fully calculated. 300,000 existing blocks
I prefer not to load the BSO cube from the same source as because ASO cube contains not only the source data, but also modifications - for example - allocations etc. I would like to keep these modifications and to be able to load (modified) data to BSO, make additional modifications and then 'save' the modified data back to the ASO.
How should I approach loading data back to the ASO? I will need to 'replace' a slice of ASO cube - delete the 'old version' cells and load new version from the BSO cube.

Hi,
Do you mean data load from a flat file or sql or simply lock and send? An estimate size of your record set would also help.
I get 30 million records into an ASO cube in about 5 minutes from SQL using load rules. This is in 11.1.2.1.

Guys I have been working with 3 IPS 2 4260 and a 4270 since yesterday I have noticed that the Inspection LOAD is RED. On the 4260 the inspection load is.

For example in the 4270 we are passing almost nothing through the sensor... ANd its working in promiscuos mode. Why is the Inspection Load that High? In the 4260 is the same.. It is working in promiscuos mode.. There are alarms for missed packets as well.
I have been seeing several Discutions for the same reason but none has a fix. The Issue with the inspection load is random. DUring the day sometimes it high and sometimes is low.

What is your traffic profile? Can you provide packet captures during a time of high processing load along with a show tech? What changed in your network when the issue started?
You are seeing quite a few signature events:

      Number of SigEvents since reset = 153308490
From the limited amount of information we have, it appears that you may be experiencing traffic spikes throughout the day that lead to many events firing which cause the IPS to become oversubscribed. There is quite a bit of data that we will need to examine to validate this. Please open a TAC case and we can begin to investigate.

Hi all,
i am running cisco idsm-2 version 7.0(E4). health sensor is under critical condition
i can see "Processing Load percentage = 100" under show stasts virtual-sensor
and also receive overruns on the one of the interface.
can anyone explain me how this probem can be resolved

How much traffic are you passing through your IDSM?
We typically see the interface drop packets at bandwidths above 250 Mb/s

.. and by the way, the jump from FCP 6.0.3 to FCP 7.0 (or higher) isn't an "update" It's a full version "upgrade" that has to be done using the install discs (or disc images).

Siri has been a bit more erratic than usual in the last week or so. Apple has announced a major announcement for 9/12. Conclusions are left to the reader.

Firefox is taking a long time to open and load my home page, didn't happen while the old version. Also stops responding frequently.

I have been a loyal user of Firefox since 2005 and have never had and issue with this browser. It has been my top choice when it comes to using it in my devices along with suggesting to other people. The problem I have recently began to experience happened after updating to the newer version...4 or 5, not sure which. My Adobe Flash player is up to date and have no add-ons running that are not part of the default browser.
When I click the icon it takes a long time for the window to show up and a good minute before the homepage shows up and is functional to use. I never had this issues with previous versions so I am assuming there might be some bug causing this particular problem. Also, when I am playing games Firefox decided to stop responding and I have to force quit so my games don't suddenly slow down. I am running Mac OS X 10.6.7; I also tested opening Safari and it opened and loaded the homepage is about 3 seconds, I don't wanna have to switch unless I have to. Any help is appreciated, thanks. :)

First off I need a little more information to help with troubleshooting. You say that an error occurs when you "try to re-open the same problem app before the old session completely exits". Does the error have an error code or dialog display? It may also be possible to receive an error log. Here is a knowledge base that explains how to retrieve error logs.

Back up all data.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.

That does happen. It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system. If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.

How do I configure DW to open and load a file?

I have DreamWeaver CS5 running on a Mac. Whenever I double-click to open a DreamWeaver compatible file (such as an HTML file), if DW is not already open, DW launches but does not load the file. HTML files are normally configured to open in a browser. The default on a Mac is to open the file in Safari.
You can right-click the filename in the Mac Finder, and select Open With > Dreamweaver CS5 from the context menu.
Alternatively, select an HTML file in Mac Finder, and press Cmd+I to open the Info panel. In the Open With section, select Dreamweaver CS5 as the default program, and click the Change All button.

Multiple Convert/Dump and Load tasks in a single SSIS package?

I'd appreciate some input. We have a single data file that has about 1,000,000 rows of data spanning 28 time periods in the columns across each row. The file is too large to import at one time, and so we have created 9 different transformation files to pull subsets of the timeperiods using MVAL. The end user does not want to have to break apart the file and/or schedule 9 separate imports to bring this file in each time. So, I've attempted to create a single SSIS package that runs each of the 9 required component imports, but I'm running into the following error any time that I try to run more than one import at once:
An error occurred while running a packageException of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
I've tried using a ForEach loop to simply loop through each of the transformation files and run an import for each transformation file it finds. But, I understand that SSIS doesn't release memory until the end of the ForEach loop, which would explain an out of memory issue. I then broke it out and specified 9 distinct Convert task and 9 distinct Dump and Load tasks in the package with an order of Convert 1 --> Dump and Load 1 --> Convert 2 --> Dump and Load 2, etc. This results in the same out of memory issue any time I enable it to run more than 1 convert/dump & load task in the package - they are not running simultaneously, but rather sequentially. I don't understand this. In looking at the logs, it looks like it's creating the temp files for the first import and adding them into BPC, and then creating the temp files for the second import but then fails prior to the second load. This will work for a smaller data file, but shouldn't the memory be released after the task and allow subsequent tasks to complete? Any recommendations on how to address this and automate this load?

Quick update - I created unique ssis packages for the distinct imports and called those packages from within the initial package that is kicked off through Data Manager, and I ran into the same out of memory issue. Any ideas, suggestions, or help would be greatly appreciated.
