Hi,
Once you create the Product in SLD ...you then go for software unit and after creating the unit you get an option to chose the already created software components to assign to the unit or create a new software component altogether.

Creating new track - software catalog new product not showing up - Help!!!

Hi,
Creating a new track for custom development.
A new product has been added in the software catalog in SLD.
SLD and NWDI (netweaver 04) are on the same system.
The new product is not showing up when trying to select in the new track, Software Components for Development section. Why??
Does the server need to be restarted after adding a new product? This is difficult for us as SLD has production systems tied to it!!!

Add non-SAP product to Software catalog - Error

Hi experts,
When i want to add a non-SAP product to Software Catalog with your name, vendor and version the system give me the error: Class already locked: SAP_ProductLine. What does this mean?

Maybe the name of your product is already used?
Or did you try to use vender sap.com? This is not allowed.

Product SCM 5.0 in Central SLD Software Catalog

Hi,
I've an installation of NW 2004s, SCM 5.0 and a Solution Manager that is doing of central SLD. I have perform the post installations steps for SCM but I'm not seeing the product SCM 5.0 in the Software Catalog when selecting Software Type "Product" on the central SLD, I just see SCM 4.1.
When selecting Software Type "Software Components" in the Software Catalog screen, there is a software component SAP SCM that has version SAP SCM 5.0.
Why it doesn't show the product for SAP SCM 5.0?

You have to update your CIM file on the Server
SLD content has been updated from time to time.
You can download the most up-to-date files from the SAP Service Marketplace. See SAP Note
669669 for details information.
Procedure for importing the data is
1. Choose Content --> Import. The browser displays the Import Selection screen.
2. Next to the Import File field, choose Browse.
3. To import the component information data, navigate to the following file:
<server>\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SYS\global\sld\model\cr_content.zip (Microsoft
Windows) and then choose Open.
Objects that already exist in the system are automatically overwritten.
4. If you do not want to import the instances into the current namespace, you can change the namespace.
5. Choose Import.

SLD: Software Catalog

HI,
we are starting our XI implementation now. Presently I dont have any products and components defined in the Software catalog. My question is, Is it necessary to define the products in the software catalog of SLD. Can I directly create Business systems and Technical systems?.
Could you please help me on that.

Hi Raj,
You need to perform the post-installation activities to see the content in Software Catalog in SLD. Refer to section "Updating the CR Data in SLD" in the XI Post-Installation Guide.
SLD contains software and system catalog.
Software catalog describes installed products and SWCs.
Systems catalog describes the systems in your data center
with 1) physical view(Technical) and 2)logical view(Business System).
Info from Software Catalog is used in Design time of your scenarios.
Info from System Catalog is used in defining the routing rules.
SWC is primary container for all your design objects
You should have content for all of SAP Products and SWC by updating the CR Content.
For all the products other than SAP you have to create Products and SWCs. As I mentioned earlier, these are primary containers or place holders for all your design objects.

Hi Jonu
cimsap.zip and CR_CONTENT.zip will be avialable in <i>/usr/<SID>/SYS/global/sld/model</i>
you can import from there or if u want to import the new version then you need to download from <i>service.sap.com</i>

"Only assign one SAP NetWeaver product version to product system"

Greetings,
Somehow, after upgrading my PI system from NW 7.11 to NW 7.4, the SAP-XICONS component was left at the lower version. Everything else was upgraded and SUM didn't complain about this component. The component was present in the stack.xml file and the SCA was available. Yet somehow it was missed.
Now I am unable to use SUM to update the component. There seems to be no way to get the LMDB to reflect the actual versions of this system and have Maintenance Optimizer function.
After I assigned everything in the LMDB, the Verification Check says "Only assign one SAP NetWeaver product version to product system". And then MOPZ gives errors such as: "Wrong Netweaver product version found SAP NETWEAVER 7.4" and "Multiple Netweaver Product Version were found".
However, if I remove the assignment of 7.11, MOPZ is still unable to calculate the queue. It even gives the same errors.
How can I fix this? Is there some other way to generate the stack or get SUM to upgrade the component?

The root cause was MOPZ marking the component incorrectly in the stack XML.
The resolution was to use telnet to 5xx08 to manually deploy the SAP-XICONS archive.

Serious SEO problem--How does one apply SEO description, keywords etc. to catalog and product pages?

I'm working with the BC template TRIBECA. It comes with 2 page templates. I used one of the templates to create the catalog and product pages. Now I'm stuck with a single description tag and keyword tag for SEO purposes. Is there a workaround other than creating multiple template pages, one for each catalog and product page?
UPDATE- I mistakenly mentioned I used template to create product pages. Actually product pages are created with a template but not one you can choose. This mystery template uses 2 h1 tags which is an SEO no,no. How do I remove one of the h1s?

You should be able to ammend that layout by going to your Admin>>Site Manager>>Module Templates>>Online Shop Layouts.
All the necessary files will be there. I suspect it is the Overall Layout and Individual Product - Large you are after...
You can also make use of custom 1,2,3 and 4 tags for extra descriptions etc as BC will automatically render meta tags in the corect spot if they are included in the layout.
...also, note that when creating a catalog, you can add a title and description...

about Software Product and component go thru this part of SAP help-

All standard SAP products and software components are shipped by SAP (SRM etc)
If you are planning to create a customer speicific components for the SAP SWCV, then create your own thridparty product based on SAP product, and then work on it. Now you can use dependency if you want make use of standard SAP delivered content.
Generally , thirdparty product is created based on the vendor and all the swcvs are created under that. Then all IR objects follow the same.

Missing my Software Component (SC) within the Software Catalog

Hi all,
we work with different Project tracks within NWDI on SAP NetWeaver 7.31. The current phenomenon where I am getting confused is: I am able to import a track with my Software Components from the SLD (from the NetWeaver Development Studio), but when I check if my Software Components are available in the SLD --> Software Catalog, I am not able to find these. Selft created Software Components of my own are findable.
Do I have to refresh / update anything anywhere in my SLD?

I'm confused. Which are missing in SLD?
If it's standard SAP SC, please updated CR contents.
If it's custom ones, you have to define them in SLD.

Assign HU to 2 production orders

Hello
i'am trying to assign one HU do 2 different production orders, but when i'am executing the assignement for the second production order ( tcode COPAWA) the assignement for first production order is automatically cancelled. how can i avoid that?
more i've noticed that i can assign only HU which are in production shopfloor ( storage location) . can i assign an HU which is still stored in WM storage location (knowing that the production shopfloor it is a MM HUM st loc)?

AFAIK Network Director is a SOA product, so they should be interoperable by webservices...
You have to look at the SOA standards that Oracle and ND implement and see if they match... WSDL, SOAP, WS-Security, etc..

Assigning Market segments to Product Catagories

Hi,
How do we define the market segments to the Product Catagories. In the Product Hierarchies and Catagories Screen, I created Product Catagories and now I want to assign Market Segments to the Product Catagories. I am not finding a provision to do that. Can anybody suggest how to go about it.

Hi Ninju,
You need to create a campaign under which you can assign your segments and product information.
To create campaigns first create mkt plan, mkt plan element, campaign, campaign plan element. This is under Marketing Planner.

3rd party software to pass products to cart page and checkout

Hi, I am trying to configure 3rd party software to pass products to cart summary page and checkout.
What is the name of the field for product ID -- can we insert our own values / or does it need to coincide with the system generated.
What is the name of the js function used to pass items into the cart?

I kevin, you can not just inject products from somewhere else into the BC cart page and have BC process them.
You have to have the products existing in BC and those products added to an order and you can do that through the API.
