Assigning CL Info objects to 0MATERIAL

Dear Gurus,
                  I have created CL Datasources(class type 200,001,022)
classtype     basis datasource              Info object
200              0MATERIAL_ATTR            1cl_0mat200(with 36 attribute fields)
001              0MATERIAL_ATTR            1cl_0mat001 (with 69 attribute fields)
022              0PROD_ATTR                   1cl_0prod (with 9attributes)
Now can i know my following assumptions are right----
1). Make them ATTRIBUTES as Navigational Attributes in their respective Info objects..
2).Assign resp.CL Datasources to resp.CL Info sources generated...
3)Develop the ODS and Infocubes with these CL Info objects...
or
1).Should I add the above Info objects(1cl_0mat200 and 1cl_0mat001) as Attributes to 0MATERIAL Info object???
Guys i checked as much threads as i can related to this topic,but could'nt find any specific info...would really appreciate ur help here,guys.

Have u used the CTBW transaction for datasrc creations for classification data for materials? The CTBW_Meta trasaction will take care of the necessary attribute objects to be created.

Hi Experts,
I created a cube Sales with dimension Customer and Organization. By mistake I assigned an info object to customer. Now, I have to relocate it to Organization. The cube is with data. The info Object does not contain any data. How to relocate it to Organization?

Hi,
You need to delete the data in the cube in order to reassign the object to the new dimension. Once you delete the data only then would you be able to reassign the object to the required dimension.

Restricting Authorization for a specific Info-object

Dear All,
I have a scenario where I have to restrict the account managers by specific channels.
I have 2 info-objects, Sold-to party and Sales Channel. Sales Channel is defined as attribute of the the Sold-To Part info-object.
I was exploring the BI authorizations concept in SCM 2007.
I created a authorization called "Test" and assigned the info-object Sales Channel in the authorization and restricted it for one value. This authorization along with 0BI_ALL I have added to the role under BI authorizations.
However in interactive demand planning, I cannot restrict by the sales channel. It allows me to load data for all the channels.
If I remove 0BI_ALL object, then I cannot load anything in interactive planning.
Does anyone have a step by step proceedure for using the BI authorization concept?

Yes, 0TCAACTVT (activity), 0TCAIPROV (InfoProvider) and 0TCAVALID (validity) have to be made authorization relevant. For the info objects you want to use to control security, also make them authorization relevant in RSD1, imagine the object you want relevant is ZZ_VKORG (sales organization).
Then use RSCEADMIN transcation and 0BI_ALL will include the objects from above, copy 0BI_ALL into a object such as Z_1000 and then change the value for the specific info object that you want to control, imagine that you want sales org 1000 only to be allowed within Z_1000.
Now, you have 2 choices: You can use the normal security maintenance (SU01, PFCG) and you can asssign RSRS_AUTHBIAUTH and set BIAUTH requal to Z_1000 or you can use user maintenance directly within RSCEDAMIN and assign Z_1000 to the user. Either way, it becomes part of the authorization of the user.
You may find that you need to introduce colon authorization concept ( for mixed levels of data and that is just a matter of adding a second line to the allowable values and setting it like "EQ :".
Things to consider:
1. This authorization concept is water tight and will do everything you need, but will do at the expense that if you don't model it first, you will kill yourself trying to make it right. This becomes evident when you trace a security issue (via RSCEADMIN) because the way BI7.0 works is that it will build a minimized superset of authorizations, so it is best to know where you want to get to, rather than starting off by where you know you need to go.
2. To control change or display mode, you will need to influence 0TCAACTVT, even though you might think to use C_APO_SEL3 for ACTVT, the BI7.0 concept works within the BI space and 0TCAACTVT doesn't impact it.
3. If you activate more info objects, 0BI_ALL will get updated automatically but your custom authorization objecst will not. So, it is best to activate them all at the same time so that you don't have to manually change them.
4. Do the work in development and transport it to the TEST/QA/PROD environments, there are transprt tools within the RSCEADMIN.
This is probably enough to get you going, reply back if you have specific questions or issues.
I've been thru this in a painful way, sometimes the best things learned are learned the hard way

Error when assigning SID while uploading text in the info-object of the DSO

I have a scenario where I need to extract a char 60 field from R/3 in the DSO.
I have created the info-object which is char 60 which has the master data text activated.
In the DSO transformation I have mapped it to the R/3 field.
While activating the data in DSO its giving the error message
'Value '20 per action plan' (hex. '32302070657220616374696F6E20706C616E') of characteristic'
'Error when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT InfoObject ZRMSD '
How to overcome this issue.

Change the InfoObject for this text so that it will allow lowercase letters. To do this, go into Change mode on the InfoObject, go to the General tab, check the Lowercase letters checkbox and activate the InfoObject. After this has been activated, you can then restart your process and this SID violation error should no longer be thrown for this.
If you don't want to do this, then you can use the TOUPPER formula in the Characteristic Routine, in the Transformation, to change the value of this field contents to uppercase. This can also be done by using an ABAP routine like this:
TRANSLATE column TO UPPER CASE.

Steps for creating 0MATERIAL info-object

Hi,
Guys I need help for the below mentioned activities, I need detailed step by step guidance.
Create a copy of 0MATERIAL info-object (and name it as ZZY_MAT) with a minimum of 10 attributes (few navigational and few display).
Create a transformation and DTP (for source system PC_FILE) and do a data load for atleast 100 material numbers.

Assigning Text of a master data to another info object

Hi,
I need to assign text of a master data infoobject, to another inobject.
Can i directly read the two tables (master data and its text table ) and assign it to the info object in the update rules?

Scenario : We weant load text data from info1 to info2..
Crate Export data source for info1.
Go to info2 : insert this info object as a data target.
Assigin source : info1 export data source.While assigning it'll ask do u want Attr or Text .Say text .

Assigning data source below info-object

HI,
I have to use one text data source below one info-object. But this data source is already used by another Master info-object.
So that when we create transfer rule for this data -source and in "select direct info-object" when we give info-object name.
After this when we activate transfer rule. It gives error like "it is assign to another info-object".
So that how can we use this data-source to another info-object? is it possible or not?

You can do either of the two -
1. Migrate the existing transfer rule (from datasource to master data object) to transformation & datasource to 7.x datasource. Then you can load it to any number of targets.
2. No change to the existing flow. Create export datasoruce on the infoobject (right click --> additional options) and create transformation/transfer rule to the new infoobject (from the export datasource) and load texts.

Hi Senthil ,
You have your field description along with your Field right.
For example:MATNR - Material Number
Now take this description and go to your BW side Tcode:RSA1
1)Search in Modelling >> Infoobjects >> Material Number
Then you get few hits (matches) which have description matched.
For Example: 0material - Material Number
Check for the Length and type match.
You will understand once you get those hits as to which is related to yours.
2)Go to BI content and search in the infoobjects this has all active and inactive objects but this takes a little time (not much though).
3) You have meta data search / simple search also where you can search for the objects with field description as matching criteria.

Info object may be a maximum of 000060 digits...... what would be the error?

Hi,
The maximum length supported by one CHAR type infoobject is 60. Check whether you have assigned more.
If you have to load more length ( more than 60) split the total thing into different infoobjects. Create different infoobjects and split the total thing into them - like 1st 60 char in 1st infoobject, char 61-120 in 2nd infoobject and so on. Then you can again concatenate them.

How to activate the Info object catalog in Business content

Hi,
While trying to activate the Info object catalog, I found that some of the info objects under this catalog was earlier activated by some other developer. I brought this catalog (0SALES_CHA01) over to the Business content activation panel ( with only 'necessary object settings ) and all the info objects that also came along were de-selected since I didn't want to install those again). When I tried to install these I get an error indicating that some of the info object in question are not already active.. and ultimately the catalog doesnt get activated , although more than half of its infoobjects are already active under the '0CHANOTASSIGNED' node.
Please let me know whether I can get only the Catalog activated without getting any existing activated info object merged or installing those which are not already activated.

Hello Arunava,
Just drag the infoobject catalog as u did earlier to the left in the bus cont installation screen with "only necessary object" option.
Dont try to deselect any object. Go ahead with the default options and install in background.
Now you can check for the available objects in the catalog. if you have some objects missing, and available in unassigned node,double click on the newly installed infoobject catalog, select the required objects (which are not yet assigned to this) from the left side and bring them to the right side.
this will make the unassigned objects assigned to the required catalog.

want to use in existing report.
For eg. Already sales report developed in that 0MATERIAL only using now i required to use ZMATERIAL also in that report

Info-objects of an Info-provider under one Transport request

Hi All,
I am in the process of transporting the Objects from development to QA environment,
As a first step in the transport process, i need to transport the info-objects before transporting other info-providers, transformations etc,
i have several info-providers like BBP_PO, SC, SCA etc, which inturn has more than 100 info-objects that needs to be put under seperate transports.
Say i have info-provider ZBBP_SCA which has 50 info-objects, i need to put those 50 Info-objects in one transport request and then info-provider ZBBP_SCA in another transport request and then its transformations etc.
Can anyone tell me the steps of only collecting the necessary info-objects of ZBBP_SCA alone to be put under one transport.
I tried to do that, but it is collecting all the info-objects, info-areas related to ZBBP_SCA, instead of collecting only necessary objects of ZBBP_SCA.

Hi pooja,
So your intention is not to include anything other than target in second request.
For this right click over the object from where you dont intend to transport and say donot transport any below in transport connection.
The reason for target also showing the info objects and so on is that they are all necessary to form this cube definition.
Anhyhow, as you have ensured to collect them seperately go ahead with the approach mentioned above.

An InfoCube describes (from an analysis point of view) a self-contained dataset, for example, for a business-orientated area. You analyze this dataset in a BEx query.
An InfoCube is a set of relational tables arranged according to the star schema: A large fact table in the middle surrounded by several dimension tables.
Use
InfoCubes are filled with data from one or more InfoSources or other InfoProviders. They are available as InfoProviders for analysis and reporting purposes.
Structure
The data is stored physically in an InfoCube. It consists of a number of InfoObjects that are filled with data from staging. It has the structure of a star schema.
The real-time characteristic can be assigned to an InfoCube. Real-time InfoCubes are used differently to standard InfoCubes.

InfoObjects are the smallest units of BI. Using InfoObjects, information is mapped in a structured form. This is required for constructing InfoProviders.
InfoObjects with attributes or texts can themselves also be InfoProviders (if in a query).

How to load data from info object to ODS

Hello BW Gurus,
Is their any way to load data from info object to ODS and I am unable to fine the Info source for that particulate info object master data.
For ex: we have 0PROFITCENTER as info object which is getting loaded everyday. We want same data in ODS too but I don't find any info source related to this info object to create update ruled.
Please advise me how to proceed with this,

hi Swathi,
as mentioned, if you just need the master data text or attribute update, then it's sufficient to load 0PROFITCENTER master data. (don't forget to 'apply hierarchy/attribute change' - rsa1->tools)
if you are going to update attribute in ods with attribute from 0PROFITCENTER, you can choose look up master data attribute method in update rules.
if the requirement is really need 0PROFITCENTER to assign to update rules, then first you have to 'generate export datasource' for infoobject 0PROFITCENTER, right click the infoobject and 'generate export datasource', then do 'replicate datasource' from bw myself, after that it will available. to display it you may go to rsa1->infosource, and menu settings->display generated objects.

Urgent::::Data is not loaded for a perticular info object in ods

Hi All,
We have loaded data into an ODS( 0PRC_DS01) in development server. It was successfully loaded into it all info objects.Reports were working well.
When we transported it to production, data loading was taking longggg time (15000 for 9 hours).So, we have done two things to improve the loading speed.
1) we have created an index based on the fields in the where clause RCLNT,RLDNR,RYEAR, DOCNR, POPER in JVSO1 table.
(JVSO1 is an R/3 table from where key data coming to datasource 0EN_JVA_2.)
2)We have updated the optmizer statistics.
Now the problem is, data is not loaded to one perticular info object JOINT VENTURE PARTNER in dso. Which was loaded successfully in development.
Please help us........We will assign points for helpful answers

Hi Chek in the transfer and update rules whether u mapped the fields with target and also check whether u have routine. and check whether the data is coming for that object from the source.
