DB is ORA 10gR2 installed on 8 cpu machine with 32 GB of RAM . From Unix Top command i can understand that 18GB of RAM is free.
When i remove "alter session set sort_area_size=250000000;" and run above script no error is coming .
But enough memory is availabe to the machine as per UNIX . Can any one help me out why this err is coming .
Also when I do " show parameter sort_area_size " in any new sqlplus session it displays 65536
This value is in bytes/KB/MB ...pls advice

Please read any error message carefully, prior to posting.

Oracle is trying to allocate memory in the large pool, and the large pool is too small.
The sort_area_size has nothing to do with it.
Also there is no gain in setting the work_policy to manual, as Oracle will allocate memory beyond pga_aggregate_target automagically.
There is also no gain in setting db_file_multiblock_read_count, as Oracle will adjust that automagically.
Sort_area_size is in bytes, as documented, and it is your value in the spfile/init.ora which is the default or which you have set.

Erro while running query for a Scheduled work book

The following error found while running query for a schedule workbook:
ORA-12801: Error signaled in parallel query server P000
ORA-01652: uable to extend temp segment by 14720 in tablespace SYSTEM
ORA-27068: skgfdisp: buffer is not aligned properly
OSD-04005: SetFilePointer() failure, unable to read it from file
We are using discoverer 4.1.

Erro while running SLDCHECK Tcode

Hi,
We have just installed our SAP XI Server.
After configuring the SLD i was trying to check the configuration.
While running the tcode "SLDCHECK" it is giving me the following error.
Use transaction SLDAPICUST if you wish to maintain the SLD server access data
Launching the SLD GUI in a separate browser window...
=> Verify in the browser GUI that the SLD is in a healthy running state!
Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving data from the SLD server...
Function call returned exception code 4
=> Check whether the SLD is running!
Summary: Connection to SLD does not work
=> Check SLD function and configurations
But it is opening the link successfully.Is something wrong ?

Erro while running irca.bat

Hi I am trying to install SOA suite on my machine. However I am facing issues when i run irca.bat. Below are the steps i followed.
1. unziped jdev C:\Jdev
2. install oracle xe - accepted all defaults
3. unzip soa suite to staging dir [c:\deepdive\SOA\
4 cmd
     set oracle_home=c:\oracleexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server
set java_home =c:\jdev\jdk
     cd c:\deepdive\soa\install\soa_schema\irca
     irca.bat
When i run this irca.bat i get the following error.

The error means that your classpath is not set properly. Set the classpath properly.

We checked the physical location of forge output and found that there is no file called 'ATGSample.dimensions.xml '
However, when we manually placed this file in the forge output folder and ran dgidx alone, the baseline update failed with the below error

I've seen this type of error before when Forge is configured to read multiple files with spec *.xml. Is that how you've configured your record adapter? This configuration then collides with Forge XML config files merged into the same data/processing directory.
From memory there's a couple of solutions for this - one might be to give the files a common name prefix if that's feasible, e.g. _data*.xml. You could use a sub-directory to separate the files, but you'd need to modify your copy scripts.

I am on Oracle on 11.2.0.2 on Linux. I have implemented Oracle Text. My Oracle Text indexes are fragmented but I am getting an error while running the optimize_index error. Following is the error:

Unique Index Error while running the ETL process

Hi,
I have Installed Oracle BI Applications 7.9.4 and Informatica PowerCenter 7.1.4. I have done all the configuration steps as specified in the Oracle BI Applications Installation and Configuration Guide. While running the ETL process from DAC for Execution Plan 'Human Resources Oracle 11.5.10' some tasks going to status Failed.
When I checked the log files for these tasks, I found the following error

I found some duplicate rows in the table W_PAYROLL_F_ASSG_TMP with the combination of the columns on which it is trying to create INDEX. Can anyone give me information for the following.
1. Why it is trying to create the unique index on the combination of columns which may not be unique.
2. Is it a problem with the data in the source database (means becoz of duplicate rows in the source system).
How we need to fix this error. Do we need to delete the duplicate rows from the table in the data warehouse manually and re-run the ETL process or is there any other way to fix the problem.

This query will identify the duplicate in the Warehouse table preventing the Index from being built:
select count(*), integration_id, src_eff_from_dt from w_employee_ds group by integration_id, src_eff_from_dt having count(*)>1;
To get the ETL to finish issue this delete to the W_EMPLOYEE_DS table:
delete from w_employee_ds where integration_id = '2' and src_eff_from_dt ='04-JAN-91';
To fix it so this does not happen again on another load you need to find the record in the Vision DB, it is in the PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F table. I have a Vision source and this worked:

Getting Error while running SDO_ROUTER_PARTITION in Release 10.2.0.1.0

We are building the road network for Bangalore data with Oracle Routing server. we are using Oracle Release 10.2.0.1.0. I havent run the script loadrouter.sql which is shipped with Oracle Routing server
When I try to create the PARTITION table using the procedure
exec SDO_ROUTER_PARTITION.partition_router('NODE_PART', 4000);
we are getting the error as
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29531: no method partition_router in class
oracle/spatial/router/partitioning/ElocationPartition
ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_ROUTER_PARTITION", line 99
ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_ROUTER_PARTITION", line 663
ORA-06512: at line 1
Even later I tried to run loadrouter.sql script, its giving error as package already exists.
But I copied the entire tables into dump file and put it in Oracle Release 10.1.0.4.0 its working fine because already I run the loadrouter.sql script there.
Then I configured the Routing Server for this Data, its working fine.
But when I make the return_driving_directions=true its giving error as

How to solve these problems?

do you have atg search installed in your environment? if so configure it properly
