  • CRM5: Edit an attached excel doc in the PCUI attachments tab

    Hi Experts
    I am using CRM 5.0, Portal 7.0
After attaching an excel document under the attachments tab in the PCUI for a lead transaction: when I open the document to from the attachments tab by clicking on the document link icon, the document opens fine and then I make some changes to the doc and thereafter close the excel doc, I get a prompt to save the doc, I click Yes but then the destination to where I must save the doc points to my Desktop.
So the changes do not take effect becoz document has not been saved in the correct destination. But in the GUI you can just click on the edit doc button and save it as versions or replace the existing doc.
How can I edit/change an attached excel doc in the PCUI attachments tab and save the changes so the attachment reflects changed doc in versions or even replacing the original??
    Please help?
    Regards

    hi,
i had the same problem, but actual there is no solution according to SAP!
in pcui you can only work online on MS Word Data... Any other file types have to be saved locally and replace the file in crm.

  • Attaching excel files in quotation VA21

    Dear All,
I would like to attach excel files to my quotation through transaction VA21.
This is for the reason that costing that is outside SAP can be worked out in Excel files and the final price can be entered in SAP. Also the working file can be attached for future reference.
Is there any possibility for the same?
    Kindly revert at the earliest.

    Hello,
I think you can attach a file in SAP, There is an option in SAP called Object Services, using this you can attach files
You can check the list of Object Services for your Quotation,
In the Main Menu> System> Services for Object
If any Object Services are available then you get new tool bar for Object Services, here you can choose create option and attach the file.
This is depended on transaction. It may not be available in Create Mode (VA21). So check in the Change mode VA22.
Please find the url for more on List of Object Services

    I hope this helps you..

  • How to edit a spreadsheet (excel file) in the portal?

    Hello experts,
at the moment i am working on the requirement to edit a spreadsheet in the portal.
Until now i was able to display an excel file with the help of the 'KM Document iView (without content filter)'.
Everything is displayed alright and i can perform changes in the spreadsheet.
BUT: There is no such thing like a Save-Button or something like that. Does the SAP NW Portal already provide a solution for this requirement? Or will i have to develop an own application?
I have already searched the forums and sap help, but i haven't found any solution. I can't imagine that such an easy requirement would need coding.
    Best Regards

(Po*nts will be rewarded for good answers)

    Hi Marcus,
I do not think you can do the task the way you want. You will have to look for some workaround that may be download the file, edit it and then upload it back. You will have to code in your application for that. If you want to do this way I can help you further to edit and save the excel.

  • How do I save a PDF as an excel file when the PDF is horizontal. Adobe tries to rotate the page, but the data is entered in an  horizontal format.

How do I save a PDF as an excel file when the PDF is horizontal. Adobe tries to rotate the page, but the data is entered in an  horizontal format.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I figured out how to get the desired results by using tagging.  For anyone who may reference this post in the future, I went to "Customize" in the top right corner of Adobe, then selected "Create new tool set...", looked under "accessiblity and found the "tag" option.  Hit ok, tag is added to the toolbar.  Then I highlighted the dataset in the PDF that was relevant to the output format, then clicked "tag", saved as spreadsheet.  Sorry I can't provide more details on how tagging works or if there's a more elegant solution available, but I'm sure one's out there.

  • Upload and download of  excel file in the application server in background

    Hi all,
i want to download the excel file from application server into internal table and after processing i have to upload to excel file in the application server in the background mode..
i mean i'll schedule the program in background.
im using FM ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE its working fine in fore ground but not in back ground.
what method i have to follow ?

    Hi Ankit,
I think this is not possible to open a Excel-File from the application server because the Excel format before Office 2007 where a binary format (Suffix: .xls). The newer Office file format (Suffix: xlsx) is a zipped XML Format. To read the binary Excel-Format you need an OLE Connection between SAP GUI and Office. But at the application server in background you doesn't have this OLE Connection.
In my opinion you have two possibilities:
    1. Convert all files in the CSV format. This file format can be read with open dataset.
    2. Upload the files from the presentation server in forground. There are some funktion modules in the standard which can read the xls format. But they have some limits regarding the length of cells content.
My recommendation is solution no. 1. If you know an VBA expert, he can write an Excel-macro which converts all Excel Files in the CSV-Fomat.

  • Can I create a fillable PDF that allows the user to attach a file to the submitted form?

There are suggestions in the Help documentation and on this site that indicate it is possible to attach files to a fillable PDF form that is being submitted. But I do not see any instructions for adding this functionality to a form. I am using Acrobat 9 Pro to create my form. I have a Submit button with an Action/Menu Item/Submit a form option, and the URL link for the submission is a local coldfusion file with a #FDF suffix. The export format is HTML. The form also contains a hidden EMAILTO field, with an Options/DefaultValue option identifying the recipient's email address. (I'm guessing the local cfm file uses this field.) There is also a hidden URL field in the form, and its Options/DefaultValue specifies the URL of the fillable form itself. (Perhaps the local cfm file uses this field too.)
How can I add functionality to this form, using Adobe/PDF, to allow the user who submits the form to attach a file to the submission?

You have to first configure a text field so it can be used for file selection. You do this on the Options tab of the field properties dialog. In order to select the corresponding check box, make sure only the "Scroll long text" option is selected.
You then can set up a button that has the following JavaScript attached to the Mouse Up event:
// Mouse Up script for button
    getField("upload_text_field").browseForFileToSubmit();
Replace "upload_text_field" with the actual name of the file selection text field.

  • I have a jpeg signature for a signature in Mail account. When I attach another file to the email and se nd it to a Windows -operated recipient, my signature becomes an attachment as well and only the body of the email message is left.

I have a jpeg I have added for a profeesional look to my signature in my Mail acount. When I attach other files to the message and send the message to a Widows-user recipient, the signature is no no seen as a signature and simply becomes an attachment with the email.
What can I do to stop this happening. Thanks

File menu "Attach Files..." then Tick off "Windows-friendly Attachment".

  • Upload an excel file in the server  with a background job

I am trying to upload an excel file in the server, but i only can upload flat files, i can upload files in local with the function ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE, can i use this function reading an excel file in the server, or is there another possibility of uploadinging an excel file in the server  with a background job ?
    thanks in advance

    Hi
First read the file from the server to some temporary place at presentation layer and then open it. And if required, save it to the server afterwards. To read/write files to application server you can use:
    1. Statements "OPEN DATASET/CLOSE DATASET".
    2. There are some FMs for server file operations, like "C13Z_FILE_UPLOAD_BINARY" and "C13Z_FILE_DOWNLOAD_BINARY".
