  • Javascript and html menu to be used with ADF/JSF using JDeveloper

    I have a menu for a webpage that was originally built using html and javascript. I need to convert it to be used with JSF and ADF. In the html, the menu items used an unordered list inside of a div tag.
    It looks something like this:
    <!--<div id="shademenu" class="shadetabs">
    <ul>
    <li>Item1</li>
    <li>Item2</li>
    <li>Item3</li>
    <li>Item4</li>
    <li>Item5</li>
    <li>Item 6</li>
    </ul>
    </div> -->
    AND
    the submenu(s) have links that look something like:
    <!--<div id="dropmenu0" class="dropmenudiv">
    Data
    Data
    Data
    </div>-->
    It is unclear to me how to work with my javascript menu to get the same look and feel with JSF or ADF as I did with html. Any insights would be great. Thanks.

    Hello,
    If you do not find any existing JSF component (in ADF Faces/Trinidad, or any other JSF library) you can for sure extend/create your own component with specific renderer that will be the HTML/Javscript that you want.
    So here some interesting pointers about the subject:
    - Buildin Custom JSF component (Chris Schalk)
    - Build Custom JSF Components) (Jonas Jacobi
    - Extending Default Render (and lot of other JavaEE blueprints)
    These links will give you a starting point.

  • Need help with javascript drop down menu

    Hi,
    I inherited a website that was already created. I do not know
    what version of dreamweaver they created it in but I have
    Dreamweaver MX 2004. I am trying to make changes to the drop down
    menus. I have figured most everything else out about dreamweaver
    but cant figure out how these menu's are made or can be modified. I
    have gone into the main template and clicked on the menu section I
    want to modify. All it shows it a link to javascript:; I have
    searched everywhere for what this means or how to modify it but
    can't find anything. Can someone tell me how to get to this info so
    I can make changes. Thanks. My website is www.pfcal.org if that
    helps.

    Oh boy. Templates are not for uploading. They have no effect
    on the
    server. They only change local files which must then be
    uploaded to the
    server. But - I'm troubled by this comment -
    > It didnt give me an option to "save" though
    When you made the changes did the template page get marked as
    "dirty" (with
    an asterisk beside the name)? Which DW are you using?

  • Block javascript/HTML context menu/right click controls

    anyone know of an extension/add-on that will let me remove a publisher's ability to control my context menu and/or right-click ability ?
    right now, publishers can use

    if (document.layers) document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN);
    document.onmousedown = rightclickerror;
    and i end up using wget which always annoys me.

  • Attaching binary arrays to a menu ring

    I have been playing around with the menu rings and can't seem to get it to do the function that I want.  I am looking to making a pull-down menu for some user options for different resoultion modes for an intrument.  So for example one option will be "2 eV" and with this option on I need to send 011 to a instrument.  Should I store it as a binary string or array, and how can I do that?
    Thanks in advance

    Do you always need to send a number to the instrument? If so do it this way:
    For the menu ring go to its Properties >> Edit Items. In this dialog you can enter the displayed text and the assosiated number. So yo can pair 2eV with 11. The terminal will give you the number. From your example I assume that the instrument will see the number as text with three digits. Use the "Format into string" function. Set the format string to "%03d" which will give a number with three digits padded with 0 to the left. Inthe example choosing 2eV will give 11 from the terminal and "011" as result from the Format function.

  • Attached stylesheet won't show in dropdown menu

    when i moved to CS5 I lost the abiltiy to see the attached stylesheets in the dropdown menu for class in the properties window
    it just gives me the option to choose none, rename or attach stylesheet. But if I choose rename - it offers me all the styles in my sheet to rename, but still doesn't show them as options to choose.
    If I choose "attach" after I browse or import, it still doesn't show me the styles for me to choose, so the only class I can choose is "none" and 'm stuck with default styles.
    any suggestions?

    Plus I haven't seen a good option for replacing the ease of use and functionality of frames. (I know about the downside of using them.)
    Good technique and server-side includes work wonders and can run large diameter circles around frames for most applications.  Failing server-side includes, even simple DW's Library functionality beats frames with a 4x4.

    Is any thingwrong in it? Pl. guide me ASAP. Thanks
    Taral

    Hi taral_shah!
    There isn't errors in your code. Unfortunately there is not a way to display layers over applets because objects contexts are different for both. It also happens with layers and flash objects or layers and "select" object (using forms).
    Best Regards.

  • OT: Need help on menu, please (JavaScript)

    Hi there and thanx for your help so long.
    My question is about this menu:
    http://www.byscripts.info/scripts/javascript-dynamic-accordion-menu
    I must say that I really need this to work.
    My effort is here:
    www.energywa.co.za/layout/
    It works beautifully in IE but not as beautifully in FF and Chrome.
    Problem:
    By just putting in the adress as above, the coloured boxes do not appear at all. They only appear when I click on the Home link at the top of the page or I type www.energywa.co.za/layout/index.php in the address bar.
    It does this on my local machine as well as the server where it is hosted on.
    What bugs me is that it works perfect from the writer's site in all 3 browsers. Unfortunately there is no support forum on the site and I have alrwady mailed the writer but had no luck yet.
    Can someone please help me? I am in the process of learning JavaScript but can only copy & paste at the moment. ;-)
    Thank you so long.
    Deon

    Hi Gary.
    I eventually got it to work. There is still a lot of clutter in the script which I need to sif through, but it works! I am so relieved. I used the files another person modified (from the link I posted) and changed them here and there.
    I also still need to get my menu to the left, but that should be easy.
    You can again have a look at www.energywa.co.za/layout
    It works in IE, FF and Chrome.
    Thanx very much again for all your help. I don't know what exactly fixed it, but it is there somewhere.
    Regards,
    Deon

  • Possible Attach JavaScript To APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST

  • Question: My spry menu bar is not displaying correctly in Dreamweaver

    Hello,
    I am  new to Dreamweaver CS5, so coding isn't my area of expertise. My problem with my spry menu bar is that it does not display the tabs on the menu bar correctly. When I try to apply new changes to the CSS of the horizontal menu bar, half of the tabs will change and the other half will not. Also, I am unable to drag and move the menu bar itself around, a function that I was once able to do before. At times, only one tab of the menu bar will display itself, without any of the other tabs as well.
    I have a hunch that my problems stem from some coding errors in the SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css, and possibly in the SpryMenuBar.js. On the CSS Styles panel, my SpryMenuBarHorizontal.CSS list reads as follows:
    I also have a hunch that something about this line-up is also incorrect, but I don't exactly know what the problem is.

    And here is what my SpryMenuBar.js coding looks like right now too:
    SpryMenuBar.js
    This file handles the JavaScript for Spry Menu Bar.  You should have no need
    to edit this file.  Some highlights of the MenuBar object is that timers are
    used to keep submenus from showing up until the user has hovered over the parent
    menu item for some time, as well as a timer for when they leave a submenu to keep
    showing that submenu until the timer fires.
    (function() { // BeginSpryComponent
    if (typeof Spry == "undefined") window.Spry = {}; if (!Spry.Widget) Spry.Widget = {};
    Spry.BrowserSniff = function()
        var b = navigator.appName.toString();
        var up = navigator.platform.toString();
        var ua = navigator.userAgent.toString();
        this.mozilla = this.ie = this.opera = this.safari = false;
        var re_opera = /Opera.([0-9\.]*)/i;
        var re_msie = /MSIE.([0-9\.]*)/i;
        var re_gecko = /gecko/i;
        var re_safari = /(applewebkit|safari)\/([\d\.]*)/i;
        var r = false;
        if ( (r = ua.match(re_opera))) {
            this.opera = true;
            this.version = parseFloat(r[1]);
        } else if ( (r = ua.match(re_msie))) {
            this.ie = true;
            this.version = parseFloat(r[1]);
        } else if ( (r = ua.match(re_safari))) {
            this.safari = true;
            this.version = parseFloat(r[2]);
        } else if (ua.match(re_gecko)) {

    If anyone could possibly steer me on the right direction with this, I'd be very grateful! I've been struggling with this for about a month now and I feel like I may have only made the situation worse.
    I'm not sure if I have to keep making a new spry assets folder in my website or not or if I have to drag and drop the spry assets into the root folder. I have restarted my website over at least a dozen times by now. I have tried changing folders, dragging and dropping various spry assets folders everywhere and I have also uninstalled and reinstalled my copy of Dreamweaver CS5 in the hopes of getting my spry horizontal menu bar to act normal. I am completely new at Dreamweaver and I really, really need some help with this.
    Thanks!

    I haven't been able to get my site posted up yet. Here is a link to it anyway:andrearosales.com
    I will be working on connecting my files up to my server. At the moment, here are some screen shots of some messages that I am getting when I am saving my file.
    I'm not sure what to make of these messages. I tried to put a new spry horizontal menu bar on my main page, and when it appeared, it displayed as a spry vertical menu bar.
    Here is a picture of what it looks like:
    I"m going to refer to the links that were suggested to me though. I'm not sure if pictures of the code will help to solve my problem. I'm going to try again to connect my files to my server though.
