Attachment of file into Business Object.(GOS object)

Hi,
I am trying to attach a PDF document for Equipment Number (T-Code IE02) by using the function module
BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREATEF.
I gave the following inputs
where OBJECT_KEY is the equipment number for which, I am attaching.
In the FILES table I mentioned the DIRECTORY and FILENAME as 'test.pdf'.
After executing, although the file is attached, it is attached as MDB type.Also it dont have the title.
When I am attaching manually, It takes the original file-type and file name will be created as title.
It is also updating in the table SRGBTBREL.
While I am executing from function module, it is not updating in the table also.
Kindly suggest what went wrong for me.
Regards
Danny

You didn't put the file at the same place.
--> no user name --> HTTP Content Server
--> username --> maybe in the database : table SOFFCONT1
could you check the customizing in the OAM1 trans ?
regards
Fred

  • How to extract Cognos Data into Business Objects?

    Hi All,
    I would like to know whether anyway to pull Cognos data into Business Objects?
    1. Pull data thru Universe from Cognos Cubes?
    2. Pull data using Crystal reports from Cognos Cubes?
    3. Or any otehr method of pulling data from Cognos Cubes?
    If nothing is possible I would have to explore using the RDBMS Tables to build Universe, WebI and then present in Xcelsius. Anybody is aware of getting data from Cognos?
    Thanks in advance.
    Alex.

    Cognos Reporting on SAP BI data
    We need to create a new project to import the structure of the SAP BI cube or Multiprovider.
    Enter User ID and password.
    Click on OK
    It will ask you to enter the User ID and password again. After enter the User ID and password it will ask you to select the language.
    Then it will ask you to select the metadata source, select the Data source as shown in below fig. and click next.
    Select the data Source as shown in below.
    Here we are planning to import SAP BW cube so we have to select SAP BW and click on next.
    Select sign on and Click on OK.
    Here we have to select our desired cube or multiprovider and click next.
    Now we have to select the language again.
    Here Cognos is giving the flexibility to use different options when importing cube structures.
    Here I am selecting to use the technical name of the objects and to bring same model as it is in SAP BI.
    Finally it will show list of all objects which are imported from SAP BI.
    When you click on finish it will take to the frame work manager. There you will see the SAP BI Cube Structure.
    Now it is exactly imported like SAP BW extended star schema model.
    Here you can compare the technical names of the dimensions in both in Cognos and SAP BI is same.
             COGNOS    Model                                         SAP BI Cube model
    Here I am comparing the values of the info Objects with in one dimension.
                   Cognos Model                                                   SAP BI Model
    If there are any hierarchies in BI, it will form separately as shown in below fig.
    When you open the main object of Program definition, we will find 3 objects under this.
    It is always recommendable to use Level 01 objects.
    This is how it looks when you open all the above 3 objects. You can use any of those depends on your report requirement.
    When you open the info object if you see number of different items, that means this info object has got attributes in it.
    0COMP_CODE is the technical name of the info object in BI.
    In Cognos if it technical name starts with 1  Short Text of the Info Object.
                                                                       2  Key of the Info Object.
                                                                       4  Long Text of the Info Object.
                                                             5  Medium Text of the Info Object.
    LELEL00  Is Summarized values.
    LEVEL01  Is Item level values of Info Object.
    Once you see this in bw/bi environment, i hope you know how to gather and use it in BOBJ environment !!

  • Can no longer attach pdf files into email.

    I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 8.1 as the OS.  Seems that I am no longer able to attach PDF files into any email.  Any clues as to what has gone wrong?

    Thanks for the help.  Seems I had a failed Windows update several weeks past I had forgottent about.  Had to do a restore to the prior date to get back to the right configuration.  Did an online session with Mircosoft, reinitiated the update, and it seems as if the issue is resolved.  We were able to re-test attaching and send pdf files. Seems there is still some slight issue with IE, but you appear to be on the right track about focusing on Web Outlook if the problem continues to surface.  Thanks again.

  • Hi, I am user iPad and I do not know how can attach a file into email e.g. CV.  Thanks

    Hi,
    I am user iPad and I do not know how can attach a file into email e.g. CV.
    Thanks

    You attach files within the app that creates the file or within the app that the file is saved. For example you email photos from within  the Photos App itself. Typically there will be an action icon within the app - an arrow icon many times - you tap on that to bring other options like Share - then Email.
    Attachments must be mailed within the apps themselves.

  • SAP Log on into Business Objects server not working (Error FWB 00014)

    Hello,
    I recently installed Business Objects XI 3.1 Edge series, I am able to logon to enterprise and everything is working fine. I am even able to import roles from SAP system but I have two problems.
    1. Logging on to enterprise using SAP user: I am getting the following error message when I choose SAP in the Athentication and enter SAP username and password and click log on.
    "Account Information Not Recognized: All of your system's 0 Concurrent Access Licenses are in use at this time or your system's license key has expired. Try again later or contact your administrator to obtain additional licenses. (FWB 00014)".
    2. Logging on to SAP system through SAP Logon pad: When I enter my username and passord in SAP system from the same server as I installed BusinessObjects I am getting a run time error.
    Did any one of you had the same problem or does any one of you have any clue how to solve this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I assume that you have a key for named licences (You can check this in the CMC under Licence keys).
    What you need to do is to go in the CMC, navigate to Authentication->SAP->Options and select the Named users option.

  • CrystalReport into Business Objects - Change default name when saving

    Hello everyone,
    i'm asking a question here because I don't know anywhere else people who have sufficient skill to answer.
    I hope the thread is posted in the right section, if not, sorry and please move it where it belongs.
    I'll try to simply explain my problem.
    I have Business Objects XI 3.1 enterprise and i use InfoView to open a CrystalReport report.
    When I export it, (the extension does not matter) the location window opens and the default name is CrystalReportViewer.xxx .
    What I need is to not show to the customer the default name but the name of the report itself.
    Anyone has an idea?
    Thank you a lot!
    Cric

    We have a similar request for our companies deployment. Unfortunately I found that this is normal behavior for the application and that an enhancement request has already been opened (ADAPT01550068).
    SAP note 1491438 can provide you with additional information. Hope this helps.

    You may have one of a few errors going for you there:
    The error says your column in Oracle is a Long not a CLOB, if it is, then make your column a CLOB.
    CLOB's are not suppored in all environments and/or all interfaces (specifically Windoz ODBC has a problem).
    I believe a DOC (Windoz MS-Word) file is a BLOB, due to formatting characters in the file.
    I had a very similar error using Access and trying to do this, but changing to SAS fixed the problem. It could very well be that your version of ODBC/JDBC drivers does not support it properly.

  • Upload Attachements(Doc File) into SAPand Read The same in BADI

    Hi All,
    I am Nagesh, and presently working on a BADI(NOTIF_EVENT_POST) for sending emails when a new Notification is created through QM01 Transaction Code, and its working very very fine. But now an additional requirement has come up, where i need to upload an Standard Format Word Document into SAP and then attach this file to the Mail to which the converted PDF Smartform file has been attached and then send both files in single mail to concerned Vendor. So I tried to upload the .Doc file into SAP by using OAER TCode with following Parameters
    Class name              :            PICTURES
    Class type               :            OT
    Object key               :            CAPA.
    I exactly dont know whether this is the right format or not, please help me, if this is possible or not.
    And also I uploaded the same doc file from application server to Presentation Server using Tcode CG3Z, to a ditectory which exists in SAP (Checked in AL11 Tcode). So the nhow to read that complete file to send the same as attachemnts without making any changes .

  • Attaching a file into Service Contracts

    Hi
    I'm trying to attach a file to a service contract form.  I'm using the Attachments2 object.  Does anyone have an example of how to use the code?
    I have tried different variations of the Attachments2 & Attachments2.Lines object and nothing seem to work.

    Hi,
    at first, check:
    Administration -> System Initialization -> General Settings
    folder "Path", whether you have the "Attachments Folder"  filled in
    so the SAP would know, where to store them
    In "mail" object, the attachments are added via:
    oMail.Attachments.Add               oMail.Attachments.Item(oMail.Attachments.Count - 1).Filename = sAttaPath & sAttachFile
    I think, in the ServiceContracts, it will be similiar.
    Don't forget to copy the AttachmentFile into the "Attachments Folder" first. So the SAP could attach it.
    PS: try it manually, at first, and then via code ...

    Jaro

  • Unable to read big files into string object  and java.lang.OutOfMemory Prob

    Hi All,
    I have an application that uses applet and servlet communication. On the client side I am reading an large xml file of 12MB size (using JFileChooser) and converting the file to an string object using below code. But I am getting java.lang.OutOfMemory on the client side . But the same below code works fine for small xml files which are less than 4MB sizes:
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream(file),"UTF8"), 1024*12);
    String s, s2 = new String();
    while((s = in.readLine())!= null)
         s2 += s + "\n";
    I even tried below code but still java.lang.OutOfMemory is coming:
    while (true)
         int i = in.read();
         if (i == -1)
              break;
         sb.append(i);
    Please let me know what am I doing wrong here ...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sony.

    Using a String is bad for the following reason:
    When you initially create the String, it has a certain memory size (allocated length if you will). As you keep appending to this String, then memory reallocation will occur over and over, slowing your program down dramatically (ive seen with a 16k x 8 Char file taking 30 secs to read into memory using Strings in this way)
    A Better way would be if you knew the number of characters in the XML file (Using some File size method for example) Then you can use a StringBuffer, which will pre allocate enough space (or try to, it may just be that you cannot create a string as large as you need). You can use toString() method to get the resultant in a String Object (the extra allocated space at the end of the Buffer will be removed)
    StringBuffer strBuf = new StringBuffer(xxxx);
    Where xx is the length (int). Assuming that you are only allowed to enter an int to the constructor then (platform depedant) an int is 2^31 at maximum (or whatever) which allows 2.14e9 characters, therefore an xml file being totally filed would allow a size of ~2048 MB to be read in.
    Try it and see.

  • Using "Services for Object" to attach local files to SAP objects (POs)

    As I understand creating an Attachment to a PO for example from local drive - is a standard SAP functionality that does not require configuration, but ... in our Development, Quality and Production systems any document type can be attached, but not in Training. In Training system only .txt documents can be attached and for others it give the error message "Database error with <INSERT INTO KPRO>, error message number SO 013".
    1) Does it mean that there is a config for it so certain document types can only be attached? and where can I find it?
    2) Is there a way to limit the size of documents that can be attached? since somebody can "accidentally" attach 2 Gig file ...
    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Hi Pavel,
    Yes for Standard SAP functionality that does not require configuration, but for coustomized Transaction if you want to attach any doc or txt file doc then you need to change some code. if iam worng plz correct me.
    in you querry just check with the your basis person some times they may give restrictions or authorizations check.
    this may be helpful to you.
