Attn Lenovo Reps: A2109A kernel source code

Hi,
On the Lenovo Support site, for the A2109A, under Drivers and Software, in category "Preloaded software" there's a file called a2109n_gpl_kernel_570.7z labeled as "Open Source Code - IdeaTab A2109A".   I take it this is the source code for the kernel.
I downloaded the file and tried to extract the contents of the 7zip archive, but it's password protected.  What is the password for this?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Oh for the love of.... Thanks for the heads up.  We'll get this fixed.
Full disclosure: Lenovo issues my paychecks.

  • How to force CoreDump in the Kernel source code

    Hi,
Anyone know, how to force coredump in the Kernel source code?. And also to collect all information related to CPU Registers, CPU IRAM, Cache Data and complete SDRAM content.

    pull your RAM out....
Wouldn't recommend doing that really...... And why would you want to cause a kernel panic?
    EDIT: Spelling sucked...

I can't find anywhere the source code for the kernel used in 2.2.5.0131 update. According to GPL you MUST provide this kernel source code
Please fix this issue as soon as possible.

We are looking for the kernel source code too. Please could you provide a download link?
    Thanks.

  • Kernel source code?

Where can I download the source code to the kernel on the ZiiO devices?

Any news on that? We all know GPL and so?

  • Compiling a driver, need assistance on kernel source configuration

    Hello BBS.
I am compiling a module for the Asus PCE N53 wireless pci-e card. I have obtained the driver source, and followed the instructions, and have gotten to the point where I need assistance. The instructions requires the kernel source, i have successfully obtained and configured it using the Command line prompt, except for one feature. I need to enable the intel IPW2200 driver code in the kernel source for this driver. What procedure do I follow to enable it?

    > I know in face value, that my request may seem odd. I just need to use the source of the kernel, not a new kernel... I have found that what I am requesting... will fix the problem, based on a Gentoo solution: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-93 … art-0.html. Needing to know how to configure the kernel source to enable the intel driver still stands. The source I am using is the latest arch kernel source.

  • [SOLVED] Where can I browse the Arch kernel source?

I tried to look for the kernel source code under /usr/src/linux-3.4.9-1-ARCH but there's only a binary file (an image?) vmlinuz in there. I wanted to look for drivers concerning usb for fun, but I can't seem to find the excact location of the kernel source code.

Sure you can, but it'll pretty much be the same as if you downloaded the code from kernel.org. You can use makepkg and the ABS to easily get the source and Arch's patch(es) on your computer.
Edit: If you have linux-headers installed, then the path HalosGhost refers to has the headers, not the full source

  • Updated GPL source code for PX6-300d

    Hi,
I've been doing some work with a PX6-300d that I recently got and I can't find the kernel patches for the current kernel. The current firmware version is 4.1.108.32627, which appears to use Linux version 3.8.6. The LifeLine version 4.1.102 Open Source Code contains the source to a 3.8.6 kernel, but it lacks the patches that add various device drivers, including the LCD display driver. The older source packages (such as that for LifeLine version 4.0.4) include these patches, but they're for a much older kernel version, version 2.6.39.
All these downloads are available at https://lenovo-na-en.custhelp.com/app/cust_alp/p/1189,1190 .
Would it be possible for this to be resolved?

    Hello d235j
I do not know if the current 4.1x source code download was intended to have the patches you are refering to.  However I will try contacting people on my end to see want I can find out for you.
I also recommend that you contact support direct and have an incident created.  This would be considered a information/feature request.

  • How to get source code for WinCE 6.0 USB Camera Driver for ARM4I Processor

    Hi,
I am implementing USB camera driver for my mini2440 board which has an ARM4I processor. The sample code
"Windows Embedded CE 6.0 USB camera Driver" downloaded from:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=2ef087c0-a4ae-42cc-abd0-c466787c11f2
does not support ARM4I processors. When trying to generate in VS2005 Platform Builder my WinCE 6.0
image for mini2440 with the Third party catalog items "MJPEG Decompression Filter" and "USB CameraDriver",
the linker giver errors. Please advise where to find a working source code for USB (now revision 1.1
("full-speed") is supported in my WinCE 6.0 image) camera for my ARM4I processor. The code should
be in C# but C++ will be fine also.
    Thanks,

  • Make dep never works in kernel source

OK So.. i'm building the latest drm code from git to get Dave Airlie's source code for the R300 since he just dropped 5,000 line of source code out of the R300 tree using the Linus kernel git tree (i love unstable code) and in the DRI building guide, it says to run make dep against the kernel.
So I go into the root of the kernel source in /usr/src (i know you should build kernels in the home directory) and as root I type in make dep and it says its uncessary at this time. Well... when would be a good time to run make dep? (lol!!)
    http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/Buildin … 5ae2efe516
^ Unless make dep is actually unecessary. If it is uncessary, i'll contact TimoJyrinki and tell him about it.
Thank you for all your help.
P.S. Please don't drop i686 support for 2 or 3 months because I'm getting an AMD64 processor really soon! ahaha.

I run make && make modules_install (w/ clean when recompiling) as thats how I did it back when i used gentoo.
I have my kernel compiled and installed and everything. so thats not an issue at all. (And only 1.1 MB)
So if make dep is depreciated, whats the new command for make dep? I just want DRM working with airlied's new code for the r300 with the new kernel.
Here is where I am right now:
Mesa from git (r300) with heavy optimization flags (including -march=athlon=xp -fomit-frame-pointer- -s -O3)
Custom kernel with GZIP compression of 1.1 MB installed, up and running
    To do:
DRM via git running on custom kernel
I recommend not testing what I am trying to do on a production environment.
    Thanks.
P.S. I edited the CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS for the drm code as well and made it very optimized for my system.

  • How do I see the source code for 'NI Example Finder'?

At the LabView Express demo, the rep showed us how to view the source code for 'NI Example Finder' (started with Help, Find Examples...). Please refresh my memory.
    --todd

There are a couple of VI's that shipped with LabView 7.0, but you can't see the diagrams.
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\resource\system\HelpServer.llb\Run Example Finder__NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS.vi
Press Ctrl-E on this VI and it prompts you for a password.
    This VI is run by C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\resource\system\HelpServer.llb\HelpServer__NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS.vi
    There's also C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\help\_exfinder.llb\Example Finder Launcher.vi.
Tyring to open this VI starts the NI Example Finder. Note the taskbar icon which is different from the normal VI icon.
It seems like NI is trying to keep us out, even if it used LabView to develop the Example Finder.

  • Where does the source code of linux reside in arch

Just wonder where is the source code. In freebsd, all the source code is in /usr/src, does arch have that directory? or do I need to install something to get source code?

tomk wrote:Arch does not install the source code for anything. Under /usr/src/linux-2.6.17-ARCH, you will find the kernel headers required for building other apps, but apart from that, if you want the source code for the kernel or any of the apps, you need to get it from the relevant website/ftp server/etc e.g. kernel.org for kernel source.
no, those headers in there are for kernel modules only. the headers for applications are a sanitised copy based on 2.6.12 and exist in /usr/include/linux.
As for the source to Arch packages, we have something similar to fbsd's ports system (ports is on fbsd isnt it or am I wrong), it's called abs:

  • Please let me know how to display source code

    Hi everyone.
my name is Kazuma working in Japan.
We have a problem with SE38.
We transport one of executives program, which made from other development system, to our system.
When we use SE38 and display botton, we encounter short dump like below and can't see source code.
We want to know how we change BASIS or program.
If somebody know similar situation, please let us know.

    What happened?
The current ABAP/4 program "SAPLLOCAL_EDT1" had to be terminated because one of the statements could not be executed
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP/4 program
    Error analysis
The dataset could not be imported because it was in an unexpected format
This is usually because the dataset has been destroyed as a result of directly manipulating the IMPORT/EXPORT data by other means (such as explicitly deleting parts of the dataset with SQL commands instead of using DELETE FROM DATABASE, u2026)
In this case, the dataset header is already invalid
In other words: The version ID of the dataset is invalid

    Welcome to SCN
    Try to
create the same program in your DEV client , by cut & paste the code from the other envionment , this will create a transport, activate the program and transport.
    This will be roundway solution
Do you have any previous version to this program in the version management?

  • Can anyone help - VIA VT6656 WLAN Controller - GPL source code package

I recently purchased a new netbook, and I would very much like to run Arch Linux on it. I downloaded the Chakra installer USB image, copied it to a SDHC card using dd, and then booted from it. Everything appeared to go swimmingly during the installation except for the Wireless LAN device, it was simply not detected.
Unfortunately this appears to be a very obscure device. There is nothing like it mentioned on the Arch Linux wiki. I tried several ways to try to discover what the chip was, and to find a Linux driver for it. It appears to be a VIA chip, reported by lshw as a "VNT USB 802.11 Wireless lan adapter". It appears to use the VIA VT6656 wireless chipset. This one:
    http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/netwo … ss/vt6656/
I tracked down a "bug" on Ubuntu forums about the chip that I think it is.
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/162671
This Ubuntu bug report includes a message that, very recently, VIA have released new GPL v2 license source code for a driver for this chip. There is talk about trying to get the driver included in the Linux kernel, and other musings about the possibility of making a dkms package for it.
The source code is Version - 1.19.12, released on 02 February 2009. The source code is a 4.4 MB zip file, so it is probably too big to attach to this post.
    Link to source code:
    http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?Pa … bCatID=176
So this post is a hopeful appeal for help. I do not personally have the skills required to compile this source for myself, and thereby make a working driver for Arch from it. Would there possibly be anyone interested enough to take this on?
I would be immensely grateful if so.

It's possible the 1.19.12 release needs a kernel older than our current 2.6.29 version.
Oh, and the Arch "automated package compiler script" is called makepkg, and it's the heart of the Arch Build System (ABS). Full details available in the wiki.

  • Copliling Solaris kernel module code in 64bit for AMD64

    Hi,
I have solaris10 OS in my HP ProLiant DL-145 server machine
I m using SunStudio C compiler (cc) for compling my kernel module source code. My code is successfully work in 32bit kernel mode. But when i boot the OS in 64bit mode & complile the same code , then no error during compliaion & linking. but my module doesn't work. When i add two flags
-xarch=amd64 -xmodel=kernel , then also no error during compilation, but module still not work.
I want to know , how i can complie my soruce code successfully in 64bit kernel for AMD64, so that it can be loaded successfully through modload command.
I think i need some other flags for that, pls help.

    Compiling with Sun Studio
Use the -D_KERNEL option to indicate that this code defines a kernel module.
If you are compiling for a 64-bit x86 architecture, use both the -xarch=amd64 option and the -xmodel=kernel option:
    % cc -D_KERNEL -xarch=amd64 -xmodel=kernel -c mydriver.c
    % ld -r -o mydriver mydriver.o
