Audio is re-arranging itself.

I am in the process of editing a project that has a lot of color correction and audio filters added to it. I am performing a lot of sound editing and am noticing that some of the audio is completely off after it used to be completely normal. For instance, one area begins to play fine, then about halfway through, with no cuts, it starts playing audio that normally plays later in the video. My Project size used to be 300mb. I thought this was the cause so I started a new project which brought the file size to about 85mb and I am still having this problem. I am running version 5.0.4, no other apps are open, and I have about 140GB left on main drive. Any ideas?

This can be done in a Collection, too. But only in a bottom child one if 'Show Photos in Subitems' is ticked.
And it does not have to be the Grid. Criteria is Folder or COllection and that option un-ticked.

  • New audio track in arrange page problem

In the LSA I have 64 audio tracks and 32 audio instruments set up. When I open Logic, my autoload contains 16 audio tracks and my environment is configured as I set it up in the LSA. Everything is as it should be. However, when I select track 16 in the arrange page and use the key command control>shift>return to add another track, audio16 is duplicated. When I use the menu to 'create with next instrument' audio17 is created, but in my environment, my 64 audio tracks are reduced to 24. Using the menu to add audio tracks only lets me add to 24.
I've trashed my preferences but that did nothing.
One thing that may be relevant is that after setting up the LSA as described above, I copied an old autoload from my powerbook that only contained 24 audio tracks. After realizing that I need more tracks I trashed that autoload and re-ran the LSA. (on a side note - your autoload will trump your LSA set-up if they differ). I think that the old autoload is still causing a problem even though I trashed it.
Any help in the frustrating situation is most appreciated!

It is normal that Logic uses the same audio object
when you create a track with control-shift-return,
that's the way it's supposed to be. If you want to
create a new track and a new audio object assigned to
it, "create with next instrument" is the way to do
it. You could also use "create multiple..."
in the drop down menu it says that the key command for 'create with next instrument' is control>shift>return.
If you're limited to 24 tracks, I'd check in your
audio preferences. Your maximum tracks limit is
    probably set to 24 tracks.
my audio preferences are set to 64 tracks of audio.
    thanks for the reply!

  • How to create a specific audio track in arrange

There's gotta be something simple I'm missing. In Logic 7 you could create an audio track in the arrange and then click to open a drop-down menu to select any audio track number you wanted to assign it to.
I don't see how to do that in 8.
All I'm trying to do is create an audio track of audio 9 in the arrange. Currently, 4, 6, 7 and 11 are in the arrange. I can go to number 7 and hit "new track with next channel strip" until 9 shows up and delete the rest (it starts by adding 1, which currently isn't used, etc., 'til it gets up to 9) but that can't be the only way to do it.
Can someone give me a tip?
    Thanks!!

I don't see how to do that in 8.
Simply create the new audio track, and the control/right click on that track
You'll see "Reassign Track Object" > Mixer > Audio >
and from there you can select specifically what audio track you want that new track to be.

  • Audio Files in Arrangement and Audio Bin

I am doing a remix and I have been giving all the files as audio. As one can imagine I have cut and chopped all the files up, reversed, etc. So now my audio bin is looking nuts. Is there a way I can quickly highlight all the files that are used in the arrangement page in the audio bin, so I can delete them?
    Thanks

In the Bin, go to the drop down "Edit". It has two options: 'Select Used' and 'Select Unused'.
Once your selection is made, you can clear your bin by hitting Delete.

  • Can't see audio waves in arrange

    Hi guys,
The waves of my audio files in arange don't show.
Instead there is a flat this line in the middle of the files, as if it were an empty audio file.
When i double click a sample it opens up in sample editor where the waveform shows up fine.
Its just really annoying to work this way, cuz i cant place my samples correctly on a grid
Does anyone know how to make em show?
    cheers,

Apart from using the key commands for waveform zoom, try this.....

  • Audio Player CSS Arrangement

      Hello
Here is the difficulty and I do not know how to make the page elements behave.
This page is an effort to incorporate an audio presentation. I did manage to insert two
Pickle Players that play the audio. So that did work!
When I save in Dreamweaver CS3 and then preview in the browsers those two players are not visible. I have to upload to the server in order to preview the web page. I am unable to control how the two players are positioned on the page. I have one player on the left and the second on the right. I don't know how to position the second player to sit below the first player. I have no control over how to position the text. I wanted to add a description of the audio material below each player. I then wanted to complement the two player presentations with support archive photos.
In photoshop I could create layers and move the layers around until I achived visual harmony. In this example I am having difficulties. Ideally I would want in this effort to incorporate an audio player(s) into the web page along with textual information, a few support photos, a biography and so forth.
Here's is my sample page that I am working on - followed with the page's code.
    Thanks

  • Unknown audio clip that repeats itself - How do I remove?

Somehow, an audio clip found its way on to my system. I do not know where it came from nor do I know how to get it to stop. It repeats the following..."question authority...free your mind."
Does anyone know how to stop and remove this nuissance?
    Thanks!!

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Have you downloaded any audio clips for a cell phone by chance? If you are using Safari, click Window/Downloads from the Menu. A pane will open. If you have downloaded any audio files, unless you've cleared the download folder, it should still be there. Also, check Window/Activity. A pane will open. Click the black arrow so it points down. A list of recently visited sites will be displayed. Check to see if anything relates to any kind of audio file. Also, check your History trail from the Menu. If you can find where the file came from, then you can find the exact name for the file and do a Spotlight search to find out where on your drive it is and drag it to the Trash.
Also, check log in items. Go to System Preferences/Accounts/Login Items. A window will open. See if there is anything in the box related to audio files. If so, just delete it.
Try just doing a search with Spotlight... Command + Space type in: question authority ... etc and see what Spotlight reveals. If the search returns anything at all, click: Show All Select the file, then click the little white icon with the letter i in the middle... that will give you the path to find the file.

  • Need help building an autonomy formula, able to self-arrange itself

Hi again, folks! I've recently been helped by Barry in some of my problems with Numbers and formulas, and he helped me a lot, but I need a new help. Please, notice that I have no idea about spreadsheets, mathematics and such, but a creative mind As well, English is my second languaje, so expect some errors in my grammar and the like
I'm now needing some numbers to re-arrenge by themselves taking some criterias as reference. I don't know what I have to do, I just know the basic formulas and a very basic knowledge of 'if statements', so I'm naked on this.
    So... I have 3 cells, for example, A, B and C.
    · Cell A has an amount.
    · Cell B has an amount which is handled by Cell A through a formula in Cell B.
    · Cell C displays the total amount from Cell B (and other cells, but I think that doesn't matter right now), so values in Cell C dependes on a formula which sums   from other cells.
    So, the criteria is this:
    1. If value in Cell C is under 200, Cell B should increase its value till Cell C reaches amount = 200.
    2. If value in Cell C is above 200, Cell B should decrease its value till Cell C reaches amount = 200.
    3. Amount in Cell A should remain unaffected by these changes.
The problems are: amount in Cell B is determined by the amount in Cell A plus a formula in Cell B.
    This is:
    1. Cell A has a number, for example, 20.
    2. Cell B has a formula which states that any value in Cell A must be multiplied by 2 and summed by 40 (=2*B4+40) without parentesis. The reason of this is because each increaement in Cell A should apply 2 increments in Cell B. So for example:
    Cell A = 20.
    Cell B = 50.
    If I increase A to 21; B is 52; if A=22; B=54; etc.
Now the problem is that the number in Cell B increases a final amount in Cell C. And here is the main problem. Amount in Cell C must not go beyond 200. So the criteria is what I wrote above, in So, the criteria is this: "..."
So well... I'm literally stuck there because I cannot make this work so if anybody knows, I'm all eyes.
    Ø3

The problem you will find is that this is a circular reference.  The value of C depends on the value of B while, at the same time, the value of B depends on the value of C.  So you cannot do it the way you are thinking.
If I understand what you said,
A = an amount you enter by hand
    B = 2*A+10 + whatever it takes to get C to be exactly 200.
    C = B + some other cells.  I'll use C=B+D.
    So, the result will be:
A = an amount you enter by hand
C = 200 , also entered by hand. You want it to always be 200 so put that number in the cell.
    B = C-D
However, this totally negates your original purpose of having B=2*A+10 (this formula is based on your example numbers for A and B). The value in A has no affect whatsoever on the value in B or C.

  • Accidentally cut audio - CANNOT RESTORE

I was trying to trim to empty measures from the beginning of the song (which had automation data I could not delete for some reason) and I accidentally hit Cut (ctrl x) instead of Cut/Insert Time, which I was instructed to do so from a help forum. This caused a small section of audio to be cut from an audio track I had imported (the actual track was not in the arrangement, but it existed within the EXS24 sampler I had used to chop the track).
There was a message that popped up that said this action cannot be undone, followed by more text which I unwisely did not read as I had assumed that the Cut action would cut the empty bars.
I tried completely reimporting the audio file from my iTunes (which is completely in tact, the section I had cut was still in there obviously) into the arrangement, yet when played in the arrangement within Logic, somehow the piece I had cut was not there.
To confuse me even more, when I attempted to paste the section in a random track in an effort to recover it, I pasted the last section I had cut prior to this unwanted cut, indicating to me that I did not cut anything from the arrangement itself, but rather some other source??
Any help on how to either restore what I had cut or how to import the audio file without the cut section would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, assuming You stille have the original audio file residing on your drive, you might try this:
    - Make a copy and renamein it in the finder,
    - now drag it into your project folder,
    - leave the 'cut section' audio region on the track for the time being, for visual reference, mute it,
    - from the project folder you either drag and drop into the project track area or import the audio file,
    - now find the spot the audio should be at and adjust,
    Good luck!

  • Audio Bin movement

When I grab regions from the Audio bin and move them to the arrange window, the audio bin window "rearranges" itself so that the last file I selected is at the BOTTOM of the window, and I have to scroll up to grab the next file (assuming that I'm grabbing files from top of the page to bottom) Is there any way to make the audio bin hold still? is this a bug 8.1 fixes? the guys at MacProVIdeo couldn't figure it out either, and it seems an unnecessary function, or does it have a purpose? It's doubling my time on something that should be done in a flash. Any advice would help, thanks.

never mind, I was looking in the index of the plugin manual by mistake. I'll have to copy and paste track settings into it. Hard to figure the reasoning behind this change. Less flexibility is never a good thing in software.

  • No audio in video clip in slideshow

How do I get the audio associated with a video clip to play in iPhoto? I have several clips taken on a digital camera--with audio--and have them imported into iPhoto. When I make a slideshow incorporating one or more of them, they play fine but with none of their own audio. How do I get their audio tracks to play in the slideshow? If I double click on any of the video clips separately before making a slideshow it opens Quicktime and plays the video and audio OK.

I am using iLife 2009 and do get audio clip associated with Video however it does seem to have some issues. Clips from one of my cameras (Sony - in avi format) work fine .. I can even choose an iTunes track or playlist and iPhoto blends the two.
However, I can not seem to get audio associated with clips from one of my other cameras - JVC (.MOD format converted to MPEG4).
The clips do have audio when played by itself in iPhoto however when I go to slide show mode, the audio disappears.
Still trying to troubleshoot ... will post if I am successful.

  • No audio in Windows Vista from my external speakers

when using BootCamp (on the OS side), i can hear my audio through my external speakers, but when i go to the WIndows Vista side, i only get audio through the monitor itself. what can i do to fix it so that it all come through the external speakers?
    thanks for any advice

It's hard to know exactly which it is at this point.  It could be one of two things.  The speakers have failed or the jack detect pin located inside the headphone jack has failed.  A non-functional jack detection pin would cause the system to route audio to the headphone jack constantly instead of the internal speakers.
If you want to be absolutely certain it is not a software issue (corrupted registry possibly), you can try the system recovery making sure to backup your files.  I suspect this is a hardware issue, but it could very well be a corrupted registry causing the jack detection pin not to be read properly.

  • Flash Player 16.0.0.235 breaks audio driver on Windows

There is a severe bug in the latest version of Flash Player, relating to audio playback on Windows. Ever since upgrading to v16.0.0.235, Flash has been repeatedly breaking audio playback for the entire Windows system (i.e. every application that tries to play back audio, not just Flash itself). This happens regardless of the browser in which Flash is run (tested: Firefox 34.0.5 and Chrome 39.0.2171.95).
There seem to be two "levels" of crashing the audio driver. Both are triggered by simply using Flash content with audio for a while (examples in my case would be MP3 previews on Amazon.com, or YouTube videos).
In a "level 1" crash, Flash elements on pages will just suddenly stop playing back any audio. Some content, such as Amazon MP3 previews, will just skip over all the tracks as each player fails to start audio playback. YouTube videos will play for 1 second without sound, retry using a lower-quality stream, repeat until there are no more streams left and then report that there has been a playback error. No other Windows application is able to play back sound anymore either. They will either fail with some error message related to audio playback, or simply run without sound. (Examples: foobar2000, Spotify, VLC media player...).
A level 1 crash is relatively easy to fix by killing the Flash Player process. If for example the crash happened while using Firefox, I have to kill "plugin-container.exe" or the FlashPlayer executable using the task manager. Once Flash has been killed, it will restart as soon as another Flash content is being played back, and sound will be working again, in Flash and all other Windows applications. I once tried to shut down Windows while in this level 1 crash state, and the shutdown got hung up on trying to quit Windows Explorer, which reported the status message "Playing back logoff sound", which it failed to do for 5+ minutes and just kept trying endlessly. I had to cancel system shutdown, kill the FlashPlayer process first, and then I could shut down Windows.
Sometimes after a few level 1 crashes and restores, there will be a level 2 crash. Now, audio playback will not just fail for applications, but every application that tries to play back audio will freeze completely. Firefox will freeze. It thaws once I kill FlashPlayer, but will freeze again immediately if some other page content loads FlashPlayer again. A tab in Chrome that uses Flash with audio will immediately freeze. Spotify will no longer report an audio playback issue as in level 1, but will freeze when trying to play back a track. Same for any other application I tried. Unfortunately, I haven't found a fix for a level 2 crash short of rebooting the entire system. Killing all Flash-related processes wasn't enough. Not even rebooting the audio driver (by disabling and re-enabling the audio device in Windows' device manager) did the trick.
    My system specs:
    Windows 7 Professional x64
    Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.235
ASUS Xonar D2X audio interface (driver: v7.12.8.1794)
    On-board Realtek High-Definition Audio interface (driver: v6.0.1.6449)
The Realtek audio is normally not in use, but Flash will crash either audio driver, whichever is active at the moment).
After downgrading to Flash Player 15 I haven't experienced any crashes anymore.
Any help or insight is appreciated!
Edit: the issue seems to be Flash crashing the Windows audio service. I tried stopping and restarting the audiosrv and AudioEndpointBuilder services while in level 2 crash state, both of which failed because neither service reacts to stop/start commands anymore.

I have this EXACT problem as well. I'd like to add that when either 'level' of crash occurs, when I attempt to play a video or audio file through Windows Media Player, I receive the error message: "Your computer is running low on memory. Quit other programs, and then try again" I checked on the task manager and I have plenty of RAM remaining and this error message only occurs when I am experiencing this issue so I am sure that it is caused by this.
