Audio Player Widget - Muse

I have searched everywhere for a way to have a simple audio player on a web page in Muse and the code below when pasted into "Insert HTML" gives us the most basic HTML5 audio player.
<audio controls>
  <source src="horse.ogg" type="audio/ogg">
  <source src="horse.mp3" type="audio/mpeg">
Your browser does not support the audio tag.
</audio>
This gets a basic audio player on the page and is fine if one doesn't mind the default look of the player. (Above Player shown in Safari)
Basically any audio player that looks different from this one above is going to have to be coded in some way and that's where the difficulty starts.
The only place that I have found on the Internet that has really small, minimal and clean audio players is at this site:
http://www.podsnack.com
which is set up for heavy duty traffic use of the player as their plans support 25,000 plays per day, which is way more than I need, however they do have 2 or 3 really nice looking tiny audio players that are completely editable color-wise that have a base look like these:
There are more examples here:
http://www.podsnack.com/mp3-player-examples/
I love the clean look of the 2 players above, and all the colors are changeable:
The main drawback with the podsnack site is that even the most basic plan costs $8 per month with a minimum 1 Year up-front payment of $96.00.
But, they are hosting the audio files on their servers and providing the skin of the player.
So far this is the only solution I have found to get a really small, clean visually customizable audio player onto a Muse website.
If Adobe could come up with a way to create some Audio Player Widgets that include some very small clean ones, I would find that to be a great asset to Muse.
I think that it would probably be easier for Adobe to design a widget that can play the audio file from the user's hosting server rather than Adobe's servers otherwise Adobe is going to be storing a huge number of audio files belonging to Muse customers.
The audio file can be placed on the user's hosting server in the same way that files such as pdf's are placed there when the user want to provide a link to download the pdf.
I am requesting that Adobe create some clean, customizable Audio Player Widgets.
Now that there are Widgets to place YouTube and Vimeo videos plus Social Media icons on pages, Audio Player Widgets are the next logical step.
Cheers,
Chris.

Well, I kept on looking for reliable ways to place simple HTML5 audio players onto pages and I really didn't come up with any useful solutuions.
Lots of open source JavaScript players etc, which I highly respect and trully wish I had a load of skill with, but I just found them to be out of reach at this time.
So, I broke down and coughed up the $96/year fee ($8/month) for the podsnack.com player set up and have found them to be absolutely effiortless to use and completely editable with regards to the look.
I have an example of some tiny players on a page here:  http://amsondesigns.com/misc-files/podsnack-demo
And the Podsnack example page is here:  http://www.podsnack.com/mp3-player-examples
BTW, I don't work for Podsnack!
If Adobe comes up with some Widgets that effectively provide what Podsnack are doing, then for me that will be the answer.
Until then I'm going to use Podsnack.
Cheers,
Chris.

  • Html - Audio Files in Muse

It´s difficult to integrate audio files in Muse, but possible. A widget for Audio-/Video files in html for Muse is the solution.
And: Is there a way to use different sizes for the audio player under Muse, like it is possible in Dreamweaver? I tried different sizes but the Audio Player, different in each browser, has always the same size.
    Any idea?

    Hello,
That was my answer last week. Please can I get your help
    I inserted the following lines

  • Muse needs an audio/video player widget!

I am building a website for a music agency and need to have clickable links or (ideally) a customisable player for mp3/video files so clients can hear/see the artist before hiring them. I used to use Frontpage and simply created a folder with the audio files in it then hyperlinked the text to the audio file, but Muse has no files I can access. Is there a workaround, or better still, can we have a media player widget?

    Hi silverdogmusic.
You can hyperlink to audio files in Muse.  Muse normally sticks audio and video files you upload into a folder it creates called Assets.
Go to the page that has the text you want to hyperlink to the audio files.
    Select the desired text.
Click Add or filter links from the Muse toolbar.
At the very bottom of the list pages there is a Files category with an option to Link to File.  Click that option.
Navigate to the desired audio file and select it.
    Then upload your pages.
If you look behind the scenes, you'll see that Muse put your audio file into an Assets folder and the next time you go to link to another file Muse will display the current Assets as well.
    I hope this helps.
For a customizable player, I usually embed HTML code for that.

  • Looking for a Fully Functional HTML 5 Audio Player that has a playlist capability

Does anyone know how to build, find or purchase a full functioning HTML 5 Audio Player that has a playlist. I have found the small single mp3 player but I am looking for a full functioning Audio Player that can load and play several tracks from an album etc. I see beautiful HTML 5 Video players everywhere but it seems no one has figured out how to make an awesome Audio Player that plays multiple songs. • How can i add an HTML5 audio player to iWeb?

I'm trying to add an HTML5 audio player to my iWeb website.
I tried using the java script codes from players like speakker, jquery or JMS. Even though I downloaded everything from their websites, when I sent the code to the HTML snipet of iWeb, nothing happened.
Do you know how I can do this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Brazilian_girl

Thank you so much for all your info, that really helps.
I read the instructions for the  speakker player, but they seemed so confusing to me in terms of how to do everything, setp by step in regards to iWeb.
So, let me make sure I got it:
    1) I go to my FTP site/hosting create a new folder
    2) add the music and the graphic content from the player (images form the buttons, etc...)
    3) get a link from the FTP hosting site with all this stuff
    4) Write the link in the code
    5) paste the code (with the link in it) into the HTML snipet widget of iWeb.
    Is this correct?
Thank you again, I really appreciate it!

  • Audio player inside

    Hi guys,
is there any free widget that covers audio player with playback control inside Captivate? I want to make a button "more info" and play audio when you click on it with simple features (stop/pause and playback control).
    Thanks a lot.

Image Ready code - yuck! What you have is a bunch of images
    inside table
cells and no real html text or content for search engines to
    grab onto.
Your layout is too rigid to work with. If you add text or swf
    player, it
will break the page apart. My advice is twofold. Do not use a
    graphics
program to generate html code for you.
Read this tutorial on Taking a Fireworks Comp to a CSS-based

Dreamweaver. Even if you use Pshop to design your layout, the
    method is the
    same.

  • Please help me install this audio player!

    Hello anyone reading this,
I am very new to designing a website, and decided to venture out and add some audio to it.  I am a piano instructor and am VERY determined to do this.
I recently purchased some files from this site:
    http://www.flashcomponents.net/component/advanced-mp3-player-with-play list-totally-customizable-xml-driven.html
That is the same exact one I purchased.
I recently engaged in a little email session with the author / developer and he was sending me emails that had a lot of technical language of which I couldn't understand.  I needed help, and he didn't seem to pay much attention to my problem, just kept repeating the same thing.
I eventually was able to research his terminology and I finally got around to being able to comprehend his 'steps' listed for me to get this thing up and running.
He basically said everything I needed was in a folder titled 'deploy' ... and that I just copy that folder into my Dreamweaver site project , along with my images, root folder, etc.  Ok, easy enough.  I did that.
His next step was to insert the .swf file into my web page in Dreamweaver.  Ok, easy enough.  Did that.  BUT, there is a problem.  A fairly large grey box shows up with an F inside it.  This is in 'design' view.  In 'Live view', I see nothing at all of the player, just a large grey box with no F inside it.
The peculiar thing is that there are 3 files inside this 'deploy' folder that when I double click them ... a beautiful audio mp3 player pops up and performs perfectly.  It's the real thing.  Just when I insert the .swf file into my site, nothing at all happens.  And this was what the guy told me to do.
Since then he stopped corresponding with me.  Not sure why.  Here are the files I have in 'Deploy'.
    playlist.xml
    playerstyles.css
    playersettings_v4.xml
    Mp3player_v4.swf
    index.php
    index.html
    BG.jpg
    AC_RunActiveContent.js
The 2 index files open up a perfect audio player as shown on the site.  So does the Mp3player_f4.swf.
I also have a folder called 'scripts' that has 2 scripts listed for the audio player.
    swfobject_modified.js
    expressInstall.swf
Please oh please, if any of this makes any sense and if what I typed is a symptom of something, please help me.  I am desperate as all the research I've done is getting me nowhere!!!

Your testing confirms my suspicion that it’s a pathing problem
“Then I tested out the index.html and the index.php files that are located in 'deploy'
They didn't work.  no image at all ... nothing. “
That is working correctly. If you path it to work from the Web page, of course it will not work from “index.html” in the deploy folder… it’s not supposed to. It’s supposed to work from the Web page one folder level up. Did you test it from YOUR Web page after changing the paths?
“I noticed that as I said the index.html and the index.php didn't work ... but the mp3player_v4.swf STILL worked perfectly fine.  All 3 of those files are under 'deploy'”
This is also to be expected, because when testing the .swf directly (not on YOUR Web page), the paths in the xml file to the mp3s is correct. But remember, when you place that .swf on YOUR Web page, you are removing the .swf from “deploy” and placing it in the same folder as your Web page….. it’s not in deploy anymore.
“Also, a peculiar thing happened as well as I was playing around with things. “
Well for testing you could take everthing out of “deploy” and move it into the same folder as YOUR Web page and just change the path on your web page to the .swf (delete the “deploy/” part). Now every thing is in the root folder, there is no deploy folder, only a “sound” folder which holds the mp3s and the palyer would work just fine, because RELATIVE to the location of the .swf on the WEB PAGE, all the paths are correct.
But then you don’t really learn how to resolve pathing issues.

  • HTML5 Audeo Player Widget

I use iWeb 09 for a personal webzine. I have used a simple flash audio player on the site. The ipod and iPad is closed to flash. The audio files I play are brief, somewhat as long as a sample of a song on iTunes. The iTunes app on ipad and ipod has a circular audio player which is small and has a small progress circle within it as well as pause and play controls.
It must be written in html5.
I would love to be able to use the player on my site but I am not a programmer. I assume that the player would work both in browsers and Apple mobile devices.
Can anyone come up with an html snippet duplicating what Apple does that would allow me to vary the source audio for different instances? I like the Apple player because it is small and fits well into my site which uses audio as an adjunct to text. Perhaps a developer might see this as a small project to knock off for a fee.

The jPlayer is an HTML5 player, not a Flashplayer. It uses a fallback on an swf player for browsers that do not support HTML5. See the demos on this page:
    http://www.happyworm.com/jquery/jplayer/latest/demos.htm
Note that you can skin it through CSS; you're not stuck with the skins on that demo page.
All the info you need is available on that site, as well as all the files for download. The developer guide sports much more information than you will need to set the player(s) up, but it's good to have all kinds of information at hand when called for.
Study the demos. Load the demo htm and css files in your favorite editor(s) and fiddle with the values. Drop the htm files on a browser to see what effect your editing has. When entirely satisfied, copy the contents of the htm file into an html snippet in iWeb, upload the 'js' folder, the 'skin' folder and the audio files (mp3 AND ogg) to the server (or iDisk) and your player is ready to go live.
There is absolutely no need to worry about the fallback for non-HTML5 browsers. Just make sure the swf file is in the proper folder on the server and all will be automagically well.
All audio players on my site (http://jmsuijkerbuijk.com/Audio_Samples.html, http://jmsuijkerbuijk.com/On_Choreograffiti.html, http://jmsuijkerbuijk.com/Orchestral_Works.html, etc.) are build on jPlayer. Feel free to study the snippets code on my site.

  • Looking for 'music player' widget to play songs dragged onto iWeb page

Has anyone found a 'music player' widget that can be embedded into an iWeb page, and that can then load and play the songs that have been dragged onto that page?
I have found several such widgets that can scan a URL for mp3 files, and I have successfully embedded each of those widgets into an iWeb page using the HTML Snippet, but none of them could find the mp3 files that I dragged onto the page, even though I supplied the widget with the URL for that page.

Wyodor, I just wanted to let you know that I am having a lot of fun with the WimpyPlayer, and I like the skin you sent me. Thank you so much.
I've been playing around with it. I had to reduce the height of the widget to fit on my webpage, but when I did, the text became too small to read, so instead, I went into the skin's jpeg and cut out the midsection of the playlist area. Then I had to readjust the playlist's number of lines displayed and its slider size to fit. I also changed the color scheme to match my webpage, and some of the Help tags. All in all, it looks great, and I am very happy with it.
The one feature I miss from when I was using iWeb's built-in QuickTime player is the ability to have a photo (such as an album cover) displayed with the music. Do you happen to know of any music players that enable you to attach a photo with each track or album?

  • A few questions about audio player in iBooks Author

    1. How can I set the player to a small icon in Landscape layout? It seems that I have to display the player in the Landscape layout and show a big icon (which can't be resized) in the sidebar of the Portrait layout. Is there a way to customize this?
    2. I notice that the audio player in iBooks Author looks different from that in the actual iBook on iPad?
In iBooks Author it's silver, which looks pretty nice:
But in actual iBook on iPad it becomes black:
Is it possible to customize the look of the player?
    3. Another problem about the player in the actual iBook on iPad: When I have multiple players on the same page, only one of them shows the progress bar and time; others just show a play button:
If I click the one which only has a play button, the whole player will disappear (and won't play the audio clip). I must click the area (which the player is supposed to be in) again, and the player will show up with the progress bar and time (and other players will only have a play button).
This is very annoying. Does anyone have the same problem?

  • ITunes 10.6.3.25 does not stop being the default audio player

I have tried to disable the setting for iTunes from being the default audio player but, it does not work.
After unchecking the box under:  Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced, clicked OK, closed iTunes and reopened it, the check box for this feature remains checked!
The older version of iTunes version 10 did work until I upgraded to this version (10.6.3.25).
I hope someone fixes or has a work around for this soon...It's really an inconvenience!
    Cary

    Hey thanks for replying.
    Here's what I did:
First I tried the Winsock reset in the Command prompt. Nothing changed.
Next, I tried the instructions on http://http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123. The only other program that came up on the 'Winsock Providers' tab on the program was 2 Windows Live applications, which I can do without. So I deleted all Windows Live Applications.
I did the Winsock reset in the Command Prompt again and rebooted my comp.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed. iTunes keeps freezing at various stages of the sync, then shows the candy cane-striped bar with either the words 'Finishing sync' or 'Cancelling sync', before showing the Apple logo.
Sometimes, iTunes gets to the syncing stage - "Copying # of ####" - where it will trudge through the first, second and third tracks before flashing "Copying 4 of ####" for a split second and I catch "Cancelling sync" briefly before the Apple logo appears.
Again, I've repeated the steps I mentioned in my previous post. Does ANYONE know when the new version of iTunes is set to be released?! This one is driving me INSANE, to say the least!!

  • DVD-Audio player does not detect any DVD-Audio sour

    Hi,
I am trying to play a DVD-Audio disc on my computer using the DVD-Audio player software that came with my Audigy 2 card, but the software fails to detect my DVD-ROM dri've as a DVD-Audio source.
I can play audio CDs and DVDs with no problems using the DVD-ROM dri've.
The OS is WindowsXP Pro with SP and I have the latest patches applied to both driver and DVD-Audio player software.
I would appreciate any suggestions if someone experienced this anoying problem and solved it.
    Thank a lot!

DVD Audio encryption security has unfortunately been hacked using the decoders within WinDVD from Intervideo.
As a result, DVD Audio playback using the WinDVD/Audigy combination has been suspended on "new" versions of the software.
I am a registered user of WinDVD and upgraded to WinDVD 7 Platinum in June and DVD Audio was working fine.
I mistakenly downloaded an "upgrade" to WinDVD 7 at the end of July and found all my DVD Audio discs failed to play.
Intervideo (as usual) refused to respond to my technical support queries when I enquired as to whether the DVD audio support was removed in view of the breach of the DVDA encryption.
Thankfully the previous version was still available for download (after much searching on the web) - WinDVD.Platinum.7.0.Release.2.Build 27.07Using a new activation key from the Intervideo website STILL didn't enable DVDA playback on this previous version however.......... I was able to fudge this using the original purchase activation key by changing the PC system date to within 0 days of my initial activation key supply which I had stored in an email.Hey presto - back to WinDVD DVDA support!Intervideo are being very crafty.... they have updated the WinDVD website to remove all references to DVD Audio support and then were answering my technical support queries as if I wasn't configuring my PC correctly.
What versions of DVD Audio playback software are you using?
    Creative DVDAudio player? WinDVD (version?)
