Hi Vince420,
I understand you are having an issue with the sound on your HP 2000 Notebook. Here is a fix you could try.
1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Playback devices
3. Right click Speakers
4. Enable it and set as Default
5. Click Apply/Ok
If you require further assistance I would need the model number and current operating system.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Logic Pro X with OSX 10.9.2 Audio output cuts out 3-5 minutes into running software how can I fix this?

    Well, first....
Are you using any 3rd party plugins in your project?
If not then my suggestion wont be the cause......
To see which plugins you have installed (Though it's only if they are being actually used in the project that would cause your issue..) you can see them via the Audio Unit Manager found under the Logic Pro X menu bar..... Logic Pro X..... Audio Unit Manager
Also, any reason you are still using 10.9.2 instead of updating to 10.9.5?
Do you get any message when the audio cuts out?
Are you only using internal audio hardware or are you using an external Audio Interface? if so, which one?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Audio keeps cutting OUT !!

    Hi All
I've just recently started having problems with the audio signal from my MP, all applications like iTunes and listening to streamed radio online. I'm using a 828 Mk1 firewire audio interface and the audio keeps cutting out for a 2-5 seconds frequently. I'm using the 1.4.7 motu driver, clock source is Internal. There doesn't seem to be a problem if I use the Macs internal speakers. Its been working fine since I got this machine a few months ago but all of a sudden this problem has occurred !
Anybody have any ideas to what is happening here ??
    Many Thanks

    hi MacMac,
i did reply on your other thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7189792#7189792
i had a fiddle with sample rate settings, both on teh motu itself, and in the midi utility ,and installed the 1.4.7 driver, and mine seems to be sorted as of today too.
    weird, huh?

my 5 yr. old turned off the volume on my ipad. when I hit the volume buttons it just says "sound effects" and does not go up or down

I had the same problem- go to Utilities, General, Use Side Switch To, and change it from Mute to Lock Rotation- this solved the problem for me.

  • Mini CQ10t-100 IDT audio volume really low even when maxed out

Just got my mini in today and the audio volume is very low.  Even at 100% you can barely hear it.  Ive downloaded the latest driver on hp's site and im still having the same problem.  Im running Windows XP SP3 with IDT driver version 5.10.6217.0.
Doing some google searches I found a couple of sites that recommended uninstalling the IDT driver and using Vistas High Definition Audio CODEC driver but I dont have that option with XP.  How can I get this working correctly?

Unfortunately, you are not the only one. This has been reported elsewhere, and there doesn't seem to be any fix that I have seen. Your only solution may be to revert to 10.4.6.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news,

  • IPhone 4 audio playback cuts out after latest update (5.1)

My phones audio playback ( podcast, audiobook or music) cuts out at random intervals during playback.
This happens when listening through apple headPhones or my audio lead aux input to my stereo.
This has only started since the last software update (5.1). It's really frustrating as you often hit the jump back or forward arrows when restarting, instead of the intended Play symbol ( they are close together). This is really frustrating when your listing to an hour+ podcast.
Is anyone else having this problem since the update?

Same problem here! My phone was functioning correctly after the update until today, when it randomly attempted it's own emergency call, then requested that I turn on location services. When I hit cancel, it repeatedly requested that I turn on the service. When I agreed to turn on location services, it defaulted to the screen with the iTunes logo and the USB cable. Since then, I have been unable to get it to function. The phone has been switching between a black screen and the apple screen and buzzing periodically. When I touched the apple, it pixellated and melted away. I did see a message that the iPhone needed to be activated once and very briefly. I managed to connect it to iTunes using an old troubleshooting guide, but when I asked iTunes to restore it to factory settings (politely, thank you), it gave me error 21 (unknown error) and said it was unable to restore.
    Hopefully someone has an answer...?

  • Satellite Pro C650 - Audio keeps cutting out

    Hi Guys,
I have searched high and low for the answer to this and its driving me insane. I really hope you guys can help me out!
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C650 01301J laptop running Windows 7 Professional 32Bit. I try and listen to music either through spotify or simply using my library of music in Windows Media Player,
however after a while the audio cuts out. It isnt muted in mixer and the song keeps playing as if nothing has happened, except I cant hear anything.
This is fixed when I mute and unmute or turn the volume up or down using the fn keys.
When I first start up the music it will take 5 minutes or so before it happens, however once it starts it will cut out every 10 seconds or so. This gets extremely annoying and I am convinced there must be a solution.
My audio driver is Conexant CX20671 SmartAudio HD version 4.119.0.61. I have tried deleting this and reinstalling it, downloading an older driver and updating it. It tells me it is the latest driver but its still not solved the problem.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there another driver I could try or perhaps a program that is causing it?
I would really appreciate your help on this as its driving me crazy being unable to listen to any form of music without having it cut out every 10 seconds...

Hi guys - thanks for your help and I sincerely apologise for the delay in my response!
Truthfully, I was so busy when I wrote this I forgot that it happened and all this time later I was googling solutions tot he problem again and came across this post - I thought "Wow this guy is having the EXACT same problem as me!" - Then I saw my name next to it.
    Ok, responses:
Silas - The problem has happened since day 1. I tried to reinstall the value added package but no change.
MasterG - I have not muddled with my system and it has always happened so I think its a software/hardware fault... The sound works perfect through headphones though...
Neion - Sorry to hear that bud!
PauPau - Sound driver update doesnt work, headphone did work, usage of different players has no effect and havent tried system recovery as yet as it has always happened...
Still searching for an answer and, again, I apologise for not getting back to you sooner when you were trying to help me!
    Thanks Guys,
    Luke

  • Sustained use of Cinema display audio results in noise, choppy audio, then cutting out

When I play a sustained audio stream through my 27" LED Cinema display – for example, listening to my music collection on iTunes – for a couple hours (since I powered on my computer), the audio suddenly gets very noisy and after a few seconds really choppy (+ noisy), and waiting another few seconds it's barely audible (just repeated hints of noise). After this happens, I can press Pause in iTunes, wait a few seconds, then press Play, and the audio is perfectly fine again.
Then, after only a half hour or less, the same thing happens, and I have to do the same thing to fix it. I am always able to fix the audio perfectly fine, but it inevitably craps out again after 5-30 minutes.
If I power off my computer or let it sleep overnight, then come back and play iTunes again, the audio will be fine for a few hours before this inevitably happens again.
I've followed the advice of an Apple support technician of resetting both my NVRAM and SMC, and that had no effect. The Cinema display audio continues to behave the same.
I have the USB for the Cinema display plugged directly into my MBP's USB port (no other USB hub in the way).
I have the latest version of OS X and thus the 27" Cinema Firmware 1.0 update has already been applied (I tried applying it by downloading the firmware update manually, but it refused, saying I do not need this update).
This should go without saying, but this never happens when I play music through my MBP's built-in speakers, or when I play music through external speakers plugged into the line-out port. It's behaviour that happens exclusively through the 27" Cinema display's audio interface.
    Thoughts, anyone?
I'm especially curious whether anyone else has had precisely this kind of audio problem with their 27" Cinema display. I've seen many people post audio issues relating to their 27" Cinema display, but most of those problems were remedied by the 1.0 firmware update, and besides none of the problems were described quite like mine (specifically, audio that becomes noisy, then mostly cuts out - it never completely cuts out - and that can be reliably [temporarily] fixed by pausing and playing the audio again).

Can an MBP Sound preferences output to the display as opposed to through usb?  I use a mac pro and have those two choices for my mini-displayport 27" apple display.
I am not suggesting this as a fix but only testing various other paths to try to diagnose the problem.
What first came to mind in your description was that you are having some kind of temperature problem.  And I think the temp problem lies with the MBP and not the display.  To that end you might consider adding one of the temp monitor utilities like iStat Pro, iStat Menus, Temperature Monitor, Temperature Monitor widget, Hardware Monitor, etc.  See if there some correlation with the temps shown in some of the readings and your sound problem.

  • Audio keeps cutting out. Brand new iMac- Logic 9

4 gigs of memory. when i play a song-- or when i record it- even at larger buffer sizes-- the audio cuts out. Only for a second though-- and when i check the recording-- it seems that the audio still got recorded-- just the output mutes out for a second. memory thing maybe? i've tried playing around w/ buffer sizes. i'm only ever recording 1 track at a time. could it be b/c i'm recording to a usb hard drive?
    thank you

Plugging your devices to different corners of your room can cause audio problems I illustrated in my previous post. Let's summarize everything:
    1. You have to have all your devices plugged in one source which means one plate or one socket (with a divider, of course) to avoid 'brrrrrrr' in your speakers (sorry, I don't remember the word for 'brrrrr')
    2. Try your setup in another roon, house, or even part of your town/city to check the audio interface itself.
!!!! Something came to my mind, perhaps you can just plug the audio interface to another firewire port on your computer? Do you have anything else connected to your firewire port? Sometimes it can be a problem! Even if it's in another port (not daisy chained).!

  • Volume cuts out for split second and then comes back very low

I have an old Ipod Classic that I listen to on my Bose docking station. Every now and then the sound cuts out for a split second and then continues playing only it's too low to really hear so I have to turn the volume back up.
It did this twice today when I was listening to.
It was doing this every now and then a few months back and then stopped.
Has anyone had this problem and know what could be causing it to happen?

  • Optical audio output cuts out

I searched for some answers to this and didn't find any. I didn't even find any reference to the same problem.
I have a PowerMac G5 Dual 2.7GHz and running 10.4.9. I need to get digital audio from my G5 to my theater in another room. I bought an optical-coaxial digital audio converter and used an optical cable and a 50ft coaxial digital audio cable to make the connection. Sound cuts out constantly about every second. I've tried playing material from Final Cut Pro, iTunes, Quicktime Pro, and Finder and get the same results so I know it's not any of those specific apps causing the problem. I have the latest versions of everything, OS, applications, and firmware.
I tested the optical-coaxial adapter, optical cable, and the 50ft coaxial digital audio cable on another source and it worked perfectly. Any idea how I can fix this? Is there a setting or preference somewhere or is it a hardware issue? Anyone else out there have this problem?

Here's what I've tried and whether it worked or not. In all instances where the optical-coaxial adapter is used I used the 50ft coaxial digital cable.
    1. G5 to home theater via optical-coaxial adapter = doesn't work at all anymore.
    2. MacBook Pro to home theater via optical-coaxial adapter = doesn't work at all
    3. G5 to MacBook Pro via optical cable = works
    4. MBP to G5 via optical cable = works
    5. AppleTV to home theater via optical-coaxial adapter = works
    6. DVD player to home theater via optical-coaxial adapter = works
    7. MBP to home theater via optical cable = works
I tried with 3 different optical cables and also tried using the coaxial cable as a video cable (the green or Y in a component video connection) to make sure it was okay. In the case where the MBP was used I have a mini-toslink to toslink cable.
Is it possible the strength of the optical signal coming out the G5 and MBP just isn't strong or isn't to standard so the adapter doesn't recognize it? Odd that it works from the AppleTV but not the G5 or MBP. I would really like to get this working so I can show FCP projects on the theater.

  • FaceTime audio keeps cutting out after a few minutes

Every time I try to use FaceTime on my iPhone 4, the audio cuts out after 5-10 minutes or so.
Even after hanging up and calling back, there is still no audio. The picture is fine, but I can't hear anything the other party is saying. They apparently can hear me fine, so it appears to be something with the speaker. However, the speaker works fine in every other app.
I also tried using Skype, and it worked with no audio problems. So the issue is definitely isolated to FaceTime.
I do not have this problem with my iPad. It works fine. I tried showing this to a genius at the Apple store, but they can't do anything because the phone is no longer under warranty.
I tried wiping the phone clean, and setting it up as a brand new phone, and still have the same problem.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello
To get a better handle on the problem, connect at least one computer to the router using an Ethernet cable. This can help isolate the problem further.
You can pretty much connect as many devices to the wireless side as you wish. The only problem you might encounter if you connect a large number of machines on the wireless side is lack of bandwidth. I can't imagine 5-6 machines on a wireless network would be a problem, unless one or two of them attempts a large file transfer. Even then, I would expect the wireless to be slow - not down.
What version of firmware is in your WRT160N? How long have you had your router, and has it worked properly in the past?
