Authentication Add-In Allows Old User Agents without Authentication

I have installed AdobeFlash Media Development Server (as a test for Interactive Server 3.5) and the Authentication Add-In v3.  It works great with Flash Media Encoder 3 (FMLE/3.0), but if I specify a different user agent (FME/2.5 or FM/1.0) using an older version of the encoder or another brand encoder that supports multiple user agents (eg. Wirecast) the authentication is completely ignored.
Is there a way to restrict Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server to accepting uploads from user agent FMLE/3.0 only (or cause it to respect credentials from older user agents . . . if they even send credentials)?

Given Asa's comment on FMSS (thanks FMS engineering team for addressing that one), I'm wondering if in your production environment you're always going to use FMLE as the publishing client. If in the future you decide to use a third party encoder that doesn't play nice with the auth addin, you're going to be stuck.
In that case, I'd seriously consider going with interactive server. What I like to do for authenticating publishers is to require credentials as GET variables on the RTMP URL, and then inspect the client.uri property to pick them out and validate them. That way, you can give any encoder (other than old versions of FMLE that don't allow get vars... go figure) a URL like
rtmp://myserver.com/app/instance/?password=12345
and FMIS can authenticate the user through server side actionscript. This authentication can happen in the application.onPublish handler, so you can wait to authenticate until the client starts publishing something (in case subscribers are connecting to the same app).

    First of all, you need to make sure your current user account (the one you intend to keep) is an administrator account (not standard).
    Go to System Preferences Accounts pane.  Click the lock, if it's locked, and enter your authorization, to unlock.
    In the sidebar, you will see the list of user accounts.  To delete a user account, select it on the list and click the minus sign.

    Were the photos taken by your new iPhone?  If so, did you not import them off your phone to your computer (as you would any other digital camera) before the restore?  If not, restoring wiped the data off the phone and your pictures are gone.
    Sounds like a good time to (re)read the User Guide.

  • Have an old web site that I need access. IE 7 or earlier works Firefox 3 or 4 does not. User agent switcher used to have older versions listed but doesn't now. Any other ideas?

    This is an old app to a server that will have no software updates. I can get logged in but when I try to go to any other page within the app it displays about 8 lines of WWWWWWW along the left side of the window followed by my username and message "Please wait page is loading". It never loads. App works with IE7 or older but have never successfully gotten Firefox 3 or 4 to work. Have had some success with User Agent Switcher Add On with some other apps in the past but it now doesn't show browser versions going back far enough to try them.

    I can't guarantee anything, but there's a website that offers old versions of Firefox back to 0.8, so it should have what you need. :-)

    UPDATE:  We were able to further identify the root cause of the problem to be when anonymous access is turned off and the subweb is set up to use basic and integrated authentication (IIS settings).  To test this, we removed integrated authentication (leaving only basic authentication in place) and the problem was fixed.  However, this is not a viable solution as we need to use integrated authentication (for various other reasons).

    I don't have 1.3.2 to check here, but in 2.0.4 the agent string seems to be hard-written within Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari which can be accessed via the Finder by clicking Safari & choosing 'show package contents'
    This is the only place within the 2.0.4 package I can find reference to the various user agent strings.
    If that's true ( & I'd search elsewhere first...) you'd have to modify the text there.

    I have a mac pro, which runs Yosemite, (2013 module) to be used as a server. However, I have difficult to let multiple users to use the mac simultaneously.
    Objective:
        One person uses the mac directly on his desktop, while the others to login remotely though VNC from PC (win 7/Linux).
        The users have their own workspace, and they will not interrupt each other.
    What I tried:
        I created two mange accounts on the MAC.
        Account 1 was used to directly login on the mac desktop.
        Account 2 was used to login to the mac from a PC though VNC. (I also tried this from a Centos workstation with the Tiger VNC viewer)
    Problem:
    When account 2 is login, the location monitor will automatically change to that account as well. Both accounts shared exactly the same screen, mouse & keyboard actions. It is impossible to let multiple users to use the MAC pro simultaneously without interruptions.
    If I use "hdiutil attach" to mount a dmg file though SSH with account 2, the folder will automatically show in the local desktop login with account 1.
    Question:
    I read something about the "Per-user screen sharing". It says, "You can remotely log into a Mac with any user account on that computer and control it, without interrupting someone else who might be using the computer under a different login." Is it possible to do this from a PC or Linux client?
    If the problem is simply due to the poor functionality of the build-in VNC service in Yosemite, I appreciate your help to suggest some other decent VNC server for Yosemite. I know the Vine Server (OSXvnc), but I failed to install it on the mac because it is incompatible with the Yosemite.
    Does the SSH is supposed to work in this way in OSX? I mean the local account can see the folder mounted by another account though SSH.
    If any specific version of Yosemite is required to allow multiple users to access a mac simultaneously? Just as the win 7 professional allow only one user to login in at each time. But with the remote desktop server of windows, multiple users are able to use the same computer at the same time without any problem.
    If you familiar with any of the above questions, please help. Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.
    I know the best way to get the solution is to direct call the apple support. However, it is really not easy to call them. Because it always results with long waiting time and then the people pick up the phone will transfer my call to an expert who will make me to describe the problem again.
    Since I'm not interested in the technique details of all the problems, it is also grateful if you would provide a direct instruction to let me setup the computer for the purpose.

    I cannot help with the screen sharing, although I have just tried it with a RealVNC client on an iPad and it seemed to work OK.
    However on the disk showing on all users desk tops have you unchecked the "ignore ownership on this volume" check box? You can check the drives permissions with CMD i command.

    Move the iTunes folder from its current location to, say, C:\iTunes.
    With each account in turn press and hold down shift and click the icon to start iTunes, keep holding until asked to Choose or create a library.
    Choose the library at C:\iTunes, or wherever you put it.

    This is the user agent string of Google Chrome version 25 (Chrome is currently at version 32)

    How do we allow all users to add items to a list, but only allow certain users to edit the list items? Site is SharePoint 2013. We have tried creating custom permissions. That does not seem to work.

    I've setup a custom list on my SharePoint Foundation using a custom permission level to accomplish this.  I setup a custom permission level on the site called 'Add Only to Lists'  which allows adding an item to the list and setup the group with
    the default read and the custom permission level and it works.  The users in the group get the add item but do not get edit item, not even items they created themselves.
    Any users who should have full edit permissions can be setup under the normal edit/contribute/design permission level and work normal.
    Below is the Role Definition pulled via PowerShell and Role Assignments on the list in question.  As well as a picture showing what it looks like to something assigned that role level.

    Unfortunately, you cannot delete Apple IDs but what you can do is go to Settings>Store>and sign out of the old Apple ID on your iPod and the sign in to the new Apple ID.
    All of the apps that were purchased under the old ID will still need the old ID's password for updates.
