Authorisation Problem

I cannot authorise my computer for digital editions under my user ID. The error message persists even after I change my password. Adobe offer no support for Digital Editions which is wronng! Any ideas?

I am having a very similar problem, and it is indeed frustrating.
I'm running Windows Vista Business edition. Any time I try to play a purchased song, I get prompted that "you've already got 5 computers authorized to play this", but when I check my actual account settings, it says I've only got 3 computers our of 5 authorized (which is correct). I've tried updating to the latest version of iTunes (7.1) and it didn't help. I tried to run the "fix the seurity permissions issue in Vista" application that Apple released and it doesn't even appear to run (gives me the EULA, I hit 'accept' and it just closes the window).
Iv'e checked all of the standard issues that I've seen bandied about. Yes, I'm using my administrator account (my only account on the machine is my admin acct.). I've tried right clicking and launching it as an admin (just in case..)...no change. Songs that I have purchased since upgrading to Vista work just fine and will play. Anything purchased before the upgrade WILL NOT WORK.
I'm just kind of frustrated as other people have mentioned as well. I've got many many songs that I cannot listen to at all due to this issue. Plus to be honest, I'm afraid to plug in my iPod to update it. I don't want it to "update" and then all of a sudden I can't even play the songs from the iPod either. If anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate it as it is getting a bit tiring.

    A user X has 2 roles R1 AND R2.
    R1 has an authority object for Plant P1 AND cUSTOMER C1.
    R2 has same authority object for plant P2 and Customer C2.
    This is not working and it gives no authorisation to read the authority object.
    But USER X WITH ONLY r1 works
    and USER X with only r2 works.
    and USER X with r1 - p1 and c1
               with r2 - p1 and c1 works.

    This is in PFCG (Role creation) for r1 and r2 roles.
    In a bw system i want to see data relevant for these 2 roles.
    r1 has an authority object(created by us ZDS_PJM) with only plant1 and customer1.
    r2 has same authority object with another plant2 and cutomer2.
    i want to see data of p1 c1 and p2 c2.I assign these to a user and run a report and report gives an error that no authorisation because of this cross combination.

  • Authorisation problem when trying to see the data after loading

                           I loaded data in quality. when i am trying to see the data, i am getting the following messages
    1.Your user master record is not sufficiently maintained for object Authorization Object for Plant
    2.System error: RSDRC / FORM AUTHORITY_CHECK USER NOT AUTHORIZED ZCOPC_C21 ZCOPC_C21
    3.System error: RSDRC / FUNC RSDRC_BASIC_CUBE_DATA_GET ERROR IN RSDRC_BASIC_QUERY_DATA_GET ZCOPC_C21 64
    4.System error: RSDRC / FORM DATA_GET ERROR IN RSDRC_BASIC_CUBE_DATA_GET ZCOPC_C21 64
    Can any one of you tell whether it is a transport issue or some authorisation problem. Guide me how to solve this.

    Hi,
    After you get this error goto Tcode SU53 and then you'll get the object and activity for that auth object.
    You can then go and check if this is enabled in your auth profile using SUIM tcode and going to users.
    If its enabled then you need to check for values if you have authorization to display data for that particular plant.
    This is an auth issue and you should get approval from the appropriate person in order for you to look at the Master data and then have the Security or Basis team grant you access to the same.

  • Activation /authorisation problems please help distraught daughter

    I hope someone can help me.
    I bought my daughter a Sony Touch ereader for her birthday because she was envious of mine which I have had for a year and love.  I had to go to work on her birthday so she was on her own when she set it up and I'm not entirely sure what she has done.  As far as I can make out she installed Adobe Digital Editions about a month ago knowing that she was going to get an ereader and downloaded some ebooks to start with thinking she could transfer them to the ereader when she got it.  I think she got herself an Adobe ID at the time but as far as ADE goes I suspect she did not authorise her computer with that ID at the time.
    When she installed her ereader, ADE prompted her to authorise her computer which she did using the Adobe ID.  She also bought some more ebooks which she transferred to her ereader no problem. However she still couldn't open any of the ebooks she bought before authorising.  She has only ever used the one laptop for all of this so the issue with two separate accounts on two different computers should not apply.
    I had a look at all the troubleshooting sites I could find and it suggested deauthorising and reauthorising the computer.  That's when it all went pearshaped.  She now can't open ANY of the purchased ebooks even the ones she could open previously.  The ereader properties said it was authorised for Adobe DRM content and it had the right Adobe ID address.  But when she tries to open them it says she is not authorised to preview the book.  I have checked she used the same adobe ID and password for everything so it's not that
    One of the things one always tries is uninstalling and reinstalling problem software.  So I tried reinstalling ADE to make sure we had the most up to date version. But then it didn't recognise the ereader.  WHSmith ebooks customer support said to download ADE yet again. I have now hit the too many activations problem.  She has submitted a case through the web based support portal case number #0181349188 to get her permitted number of activations reset because we can't do anything until that is sorted out.
    However I don't think that will solve the problem because as far as I could tell the computer was authorised properly but it would not recognise the ebooks downloaded before it was deauthorised and reauthorised.  I don't know why it's an issue because it's not as if she has tried to transfer content from or to different computers or devices, she only has the one laptop.
    Please can anyone help me sort this out.  She is absolutely distraught as she has spent all her birthday money on ebooks she can't now open and as she is a student she can't just afford to write off the loss. And I feel sick about it because I thought she'd be thrilled with her new toy
    I'm reasonably computer literate and I have never had any problem with my own Sony ereader (but then I tend to read the ...manual).  I use my own ereader with a different computer by the way so I don't think it's a conflict. But I am stumped by this.  Her laptop is about a year old a Sony Vaio running Vista Home edition.  The registry may be a bit cluttered but although I can reinstall Windows if I have to I have never attempted a registry edit

    I  got an error message when I connected the ereader saying a problem occurred while installing the Ereader software on your computer and I still couldn't open some of the ebooks even though I could open them in ADE so my heart sank.  However I deleted the problem titles from the ereader and reimported them  and then they were fine. I don't know what the error in installing the software was as it seems to be fully functional albeit rather slow to import large titles
    She has been given strict instructions not to muck around with anything

  • Pandigital and ADE authorisation problems

    I am having trouble viewing epub books on my pandigital 7".  I can view them fine in ADE but when i transfer them over to the pandigital and try to open them it says the device is not authorised.  But in ADE the device is authorised.  I have tried reauthorising both ADE and the device in it, but that has not solved the problem.  Please help.

    This has been suggested for a similar issue with other readers.  It seems to be a situation where the authorization get confused, and even removing it doesn't really remove it.
    deauthorize the ereader (ctrl-shift-E  to ADE while device plugged in)
    close ADE
    Look at the ereader device showing up as a drive on a file manager such as Windows Explorer
    Make sure you are showing hidden files.
    You will see file or directory with a name like '.adobe-digital-editions'
    Delete it.
    restart ADE
    try to reauthorize the device.
    Horrid.  Good luck.

  • Unexpected music authorisation problems

    I recently changed to broadband and consequently have a new ISP. Once that happened I took the opportunity to upgrade iTunes to 6.0.4 (3). All seemed fine and iTunes is working perfectly well. However, I now discover that the slideshows on iPhoto and the movie I made on iMovie HD and subsequently moved to iDVD to convert to a DVD will not play the music that I purchased from the iTunes store any more because my computer is apparently "not authorised" to play the tracks. But it is! Or it was, certainly. So I don't understand why the digital hub is no longer, er, hubbing, and I don't know what to do to remedy the situation. I changed no settings. My computer is privately owned. The files are on no other computer. I haven't upgraded any of the other iLife applications. They're all still iLife 5. (I have an iMac G5). Please help.

    Thank you Matt. The article lead me to install Front Row Update 1.2.1, and that seems to have solved the problem I was experiencing in iMovie (and also in iPhoto slide shows). I can only imagine that the problem originated when I updated iTunes to 6.0.4(3) while the rest of my iLife software remained at '05.

  • Authorisation problems

    I have just made an account on audible.co.uk and downloaded a free audiobook. It was automatically imported into itunes, but when i try to sync it, it says that my pc isnt authorised and only lets me sync that book and things i have ripped manually. It doesnt let me sync things i have downloaded from itunes. I have tried authorising my pc, but it says its already authorised, and still doesnt work. Ive tried de-authorising then reathorising, but that doesnt work either. I have only used up 3 of my 5 authorisations. Please help me.

  • Authorisation problem- transferring iphone purchases

    So for some reason each time I try to authorise my mac book to transfer the purchases (music and iphone apps) from my iPhone (3GS), instead of ripping the apps and music to itunes, it will prompt me to authorise my computer again, and it will continually send me on the same loop (extremely frustrating).... I have tried de-authorising and then plugging my iphone in, following the authorising prompts and yet again it sends me on the same loop... I cant sync my iphone to my mac until I transfer these purchases, so if anyone can solve the enigma that is itunes please help!...

    It sounds like one of these Apple IDs does not match:
    The Apple ID used to purchase the items
    The Apple ID you are using to "Authorize This Computer"

  • Authorisation problem upgrading to 9.0.3 error 42408

    Since I upgraded my iTunes to 9.0.3, everything I bought before I changed my Apple ID is no longer allowed to play. It asks me for my password, (but with my old apple ID), when I give it, it gives an error 42408!
    This is also a problem flagged in the mac forum, but I thought I'd make sure it gets mentioned here in the windows one too.

  • Phase/nano3G authorisation problem!

    Can anyone help?
    I just purchased and downloaded Phase for my 3G nano but keep getting "not authroised" message when synching. Have confirmed I have latest versions of itunes 7.5 (19) and ipod s/w 1.0.2. Created Phase playlist in itunes then tried to synch - no joy. Disconnected ipod and reconnected/synch, again no joy.
    Account info shows that I only have this one macbook authorised (no deauthroize all option presented and I haven't deuathorized previously ever, so that isn't the issue).
    What gives? Why cant I play the game I already paid for?!

    Understood. Later what i undestood is that at Juniper end PFS Group-2 was enabled & cisco router end  PFS Group-1 was enabled..Do you think in that case telnet will work & apps dont.
    In same setup with another cisco edge router PFS Group-1 was cofigured but looks that override & applications worked perfect. At offshore it was same Juniper & configurations.

  • Sharing and Authorisation problem

    I have an OS 10.6 Intel Mac Mini, and a Windows XP HP Netbook, both "authorised" and both with "home sharing" enabled.
    Now while I can see the Mac's music library, and can start the selected music playing on the Netbook, it only plays for about one minute, then cuts out.

    Further to the above - I can even transfer music from the Mac to the XP Netbook, but only for around one minute - so it sems the connection for "Sharing" between the two machines only lasts for a minute. The only way to get sharing back up again is to close iTunes on the XP machine, and then reopen it - when again the connection lasts for a minute !
    Anyone - any thoughts ? This is weird.

  • Syncing problem with itunes after restoring to a new PC from iPod

    My old PC crashed and I copied my iTunes libray to a new PC from my iPod. The libray includes several songs taken from CD's I purchased plus several songs that I had purchased from iTunes. I also "authorized" the new PC. However, when I sync now none of the purchased songs from my new iTunes file will copy back to the iPod. It will only sync the songs from my personal CD collection. I get a message that the iPod is not authorized for these songs. Any suggestions for a fix?

  • Problem in saving the workbook as favourite

    Hi,
    I have a issue around saving the BEx reports as favourites.
    One of our user is not able to save his report in his favourites folder. He was able to do the same before,but now he can't do it anymore.He gets a pop up error message'WDTTREE - type mismatch' type....This is a problem with only few users and not all of them.
    I know we can set the object changeability in RSA1 but that should affect all or none of the users as it is set globally.So,is it possible that I can check it somewhere if that user does have the authorisation for saving the reports as his favourite. There is no direct authorisation problem with his userid as I have checked the SU53 dump also with his logon.

       Am on 3.5 and this note points to 3.0,I guess. Also,as I mentioned,it's a problem with only one user and not with all the users. Rest of the users are ok their favourites.
