Authorization question: infoObject combined with auth var and input va

In a sales forecast report an authorization variable 0version is used. 5 different versions are available (1 to 5). When running the query the user has to fill in what version he wants to update by filling in the correct 0version variable. The query itself has also an authorization variable which authorize on the version (users are allowed to see/correct version 1 to 4 and special users only 5).
Is it possible to have two variables(1. auth var 2. sel var) on 0version in one query?

Looks all perfect.. Can you recheck while creating the Authorisation variable did u selected 'Value Range' or the 'Single Values' While restricting the variable (or) defining the variable.
Can you create the variable with Value range option while restricting screen with variables and see?

When I decided to go for an iPad, one of the main reasons why not to stay with Microsoft was the connectivity in combination with cameras and USB-sticks.
Well then, the update to iOS4.2 killed this because the software seems to lower the max.current limit from 200mA down to some 20mA. This "unfriendly" action by Apple is in my opinion fraud. I bought a lot of accessories to work with the iPod and all of them I can now dump into the trash cane, because Apple is doing the same ignorant "politics" to consumer just like their biggest rival Microsoft.
This is company arrogance in excellence....

Bring back the true IPAD and apple fix the problem.

ADF Table filter issue with OR or AND input value

Hi all,
adf:table filterable fields for OR or AND input value not works. Actually One of column is for State and it has "OR" value for -> OREGON State.
and I tried using filterModel and queryListener for table attribute. But I am not getting exact clue where I need to fix for this issue. Any suggestion and help is appreciated greatly.

Question on Gaming with Mac Mini and hooking one up to a Samsung TV LCD HD

I am looking at buying the 2.26 Ghz mini with 4 gigs of ram. I understand that minidisplay port does do audio and that a 3rd party is releasing a cable that does just this instead of 2 adapters to make it work without audio. My first question is, I would like to make a mini take the place of a apple tv. Namely because I would rather have full functionality on a tv rather than just the audio and movies and pics. If I get the optical cable, I understand the optical in the audio jack out does support 5.1 surround if you are using the optical and not a regualar 3.5mm jack. Is this correct?
I also was curious about how well the 9400m graphics card would handle a game such as World of warcraft. My laptop does just fine, but it also has a faster processor, the 9600 gt and a 7200 rpm hard drive. My tv is a Samsung 52" LCD 1080P 120HZ. Thanks in advance!

Who confirmed that to you? I'm having major difficulty finding out if the Mini DisplayPort does indeed have audio capabilities. So far it's not looking god, which seems like utter madness.

TC in combination with mac mini and WIFI

Hello,
I am living in an apparment with provided internet - it used to be a cable modem. Now cable modem was deactivated by the owner and free WIFI was established in our house (but limited to three devices)
I connected my mac mini to the existing WIFI - no prob! Is is possible to create another WIFI with TC using cable connection between mach mini and TC?
If yes, please let me know how to set up the mac and TC.

I have more than three devices which need WIFI connectio, unfortunatel!
If it is just to connect to the TC it is possible.. if you want to connect to the TC from the mini that is fine.. you do not need wifi for this.. just ethernet to the TC is fine.. so I just don't know what the wifi from the TC is for and if it requires internet access.
If you want internet access via the Mac, you can setup Internet Connection Sharing..

It is a really poor setup though.. and tends to be unreliable, slow and means anytime the mini is off no internet to the other clients.
There are better ways to do things.
Put any wireless bridge, in front of the TC and use that to provide a wired connection. Apple Express can do this.. none of the other devices can. but wireless bridges are not hard to find and you can get cheaper ones than the apple.
This is what I tried, thanks to your recommondation! I connected the AirportExpress with the given WIFI and I've connected it to the TC via LAN cable, the TC now provides my own WIFI to all devices. But the mac mini, as well connected by cable to the TC does not have Internet access. To log on to the given WIFI I have to use a web-login (like in a hotel) but I have the impression that it doesn't work because of the hardware I have now connected. If you have any suggestions to this I would really appreciate it!
You will however not get out of the problem without creating more problems.. Internet access will be slowed and you will have double NAT issues.
I set the TC to bridge, no Double-NAT anymore.

Known Issues with Session Vars and non-IE browsers?

Are there any known issues with non-Internet Explorer
browsers storing or reading session variables. Or loops and
ListGetAt functions? I'm using CF 5.

This testing will not really address any cross domain issues, due to the content being hosted by ScormCloud.
What I found interesting, is that in ScormCloud, using the links below, my results were opposite those that I obtained through my LMS.
In LMS, Captivate 5 worked, Captivate 6 did not in IE8, both worked in FF
In ScormCloud, Captivate 5 did not work in IE8, but worked in FF, and Captivate 6 did work in FF and IE8.

can the search record display read only and read write only record together ?

Maybe your Mac-B user account has the same (short) user name
as your Mac-A user account. Matching user names or short user names
could make the Mac-B account able to Read & Write to your shared folder.
Because I think you can log in with short user names to a server
as well. I guess passwords should be matching as well,
and perhaps the user ID's (System Preferences -> Accounts
-> right-click on user) also?

Anonymous Level Security Token Error combined with DECOMCNFG errors and finishing big with mmc.exe crash

I'm running on a brand new system Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit.
I have a problem with Internet Explorer 8. When a javascript tries to open a link into a new window I get the error message: Message: Cannot open an anonymous level security token.
The solution to this is to go to dcomcnfg -> Expand Componenet Services -> Computers
Select My Computer -> right click My Computer and select Properties.
On the Default Properties tab set the Default Authentication level and Default Impersonation level.
Here is the problem: These values can not be set. There are multiple problems with the DCOMCNFG interface.
1. There are no values present in the drop down window.
2. The first time one selects properties from my computer to access the default properties tab, I get only a 2 tab page consisting only of COM Security and MSDTC. I have to select the properties option a second time to get the correct page to
pop up containing the additional 4 tabs that include the default Properties. (strange, but I have actually seen this behavior reported elsewhere on the net by a developer)
3. On the default properties tab, the "enable Distributed COM on this computer" is unchecked, even though registry values indicate DCOM is enabled.
4. The drop down windows for "Default Authetication Level" and "Default Inpersonation Level" do not populate with any options when I check the "Enable Distributed COM" box. Registry values appear to have these settings correctly set.
5. Regardless of whether I modify any entries or not on the Default Properties tab, every time I close the Default Properties tab by selecting "OK", mmc.exe crashes and an error is generated. No crash if I select "cancel." Error info below:

I tried the COMFIX tool suggested by Jim Bacon - it does not complete for me however
(there is no "run as admin" option in Windows XP, just double clicked to run it.
Otherwise followed as described (no Norton Ghost)
It errors out:
In the Command Window, it says Open Service Fail 1060
Specific Service does not exist as installed service
And a Windows Script Host Window that reports error "the system cannot find the file specified" - code:80070002
Is this because it is XP?
Is there something similar I can use for XP, or do I have some other limitation?
Appreciate assistance - I was happy to find this issue reported here so pleased that at least I am not unique in that!

Combination with Sata HDD and Pata HDD

I am using 1x Sata HDD and 1x Pata HDD, The problem is when I want to install fresh install of windows XP, the setup identify as my disk 1 is the Pata HDD (partition C and D) and disk 2 is the Sata HDD (E and F), I want to install the windows on the Sata HDD so I want it to become (C and D) as disk 1.
I found a solution by removing the power cable from the Pata HDD and then the installtion identifies the sata hdd as C and D/ disk1, but I need a solution without have to unplug the pata power cable.

Windows will not let you change the drive letter where the "Windows" folder is. This is because critical files are linked to the registry when you install programs in the Program Files folder after a normal install.
For a fresh install the best solution you have is to install Windows with only the SATA drive installed and no other drives. Then when you are sure you only have one drive in the computer you need to repartition the SATA drive into the two sizes you want during the CD install of XP. During the XP install choose one of the partitions (preferably the first) beginning at 0 on the disk. Windows will just leave the other partition alone until after you are done installing XP. Then go into the disk manager after Windows is setup and enable the orphaned second partition you created earlier in Windows setup (Windows will not initialize it automatically). That one will be D:\. Then intall the other drive(s) in whatever order or creation you see fit. Only then can you change those drive letters (partitions). Feel free to experiment and by the way you may need Partition Magic to do a bit of house keeping seeing how you have so many partitions.

Question for those with G5 Quad and either X1900 or 7800/Quadro 4500

Just wondering...when you upgraded your quad to one of these high-end options, did you notice the Leopard desktop feeling more responsive/smooth? Specifically, window resizing/moving, etc.
I've tried all the hacks such as setting deferredupdates to 1 and 0 and enabling/disabling QuartzGL with the original 6600, but sometimes the desktop is still choppy sometimes. I'm hoping this would be improved with one of the many 7800s or FX 4500s floating around on ebay and such, and I would think that even an "ancient" quad G5 would have more than enough power to make Aqua smooth...
Before I drop $400 on one of the upgrades, just wondering if anybody noticed improvement in desktop snappiness. Thanks!

Yes, I have considered replacing the HD (looks to be a very early SATA 7200rpm Western Digital, with no NCQ support, etc.) But it seems to me that the slight choppiness has little to do with disk access....bear in mind I am running 16GB RAM as well, so that should cut down on disk paging. It does seem like the graphics card being overloaded with say, a graphics heavy webpage, when minimizing to the dock, its just not "smooth" at times, if you know what I mean, and neither are the bouncing icons in the dock.
Also, I am running Leopard 10.5.8 so perhaps you dont see this issue with Tiger. I've heard Tiger feels snappier on G5s than Leopard.
However, if anyone else has experience with a quad/7800/X1900 upgrade, and if you noticed Finder/Aqua being more responsive, I'd like to hear it.

When I run the calculation, it works only with the definitions of the mixed costing. Does the calculation take either the mixed costing or the additive cost?

We also faced similar issue & had approched SAP for the same. As clarified by SAP, additive cost with mixed costing is not supported.
You may try using reference costing variant for this.

I have a MacBook upgraded from Tiger 10.4 to *Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.1.* I'm now using *Time Machine* to make back-ups on a *MiniMax external drive* through an USB connection. However, I wish to make wireless back-ups by connecting the external drive to my *Airport Extreme*. I learned that this wasn't possible until the recent release by Apple of the software update "*About Time Machine and AirPort Updates v1.0*". The minimum system requirement for this software update is OS X 10.5.2. I should think this requirement is met because I have upgraded to 10.6.1. But when I try to install the software I get the message that the system requirement is at least 10.5.2. and as a result *I can't continue installing*. Apparently my OS update is not recognized by the software. Is there a solution for this problem? Many thanks.

you don't need to install those updates. they are for leopard, not snow leopard. you should be fine as is. do keep in mind that TM backups to air disks are not "officially" supported but they have worked for a long time. also, keep in midn that you'll need to start a new backup sequence once you move the drive to AEBS as remote backups are stored differently from directly attached ones.

I can no longer use the address bar to change websites. I can block text with the mouse and input a new URL but when I hit the enter key or left click on the right arrow it has no effect and the page does not change.

Also Ctrl+Enter no longer adds www+.com to words entered in the address bar. I can use bookmarks to change to other web sites or my password manager. Re-booting my laptop makes no difference. Please help.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. It might be related to an extension. Then you should read [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].

Display issue with Combo Boxes and Logo

Hi All,
I am facing a couple of issues with my dashboard:
1. Combo boxes display - I have placed a series of combo boxes one below the other. During the preview, when I click on the first combo box, the values spread below. That is, the labels, and options of the next combo box are also visible. The options in the combo box are not seen clearly. I have tried many permutations and combinations with "Bring Forward +" and "Send Back -" but none of them seem to work. For example, keeping the first combo as bring forward and next one as send back etc. Can you please help me in this regard?
2. Logo - I have used image component and embedded a logo from my local system. Later I saved the xlf in the repository. When I import the xlf from the platform, it displays the logo fine. But however, this behavior is not constant. It sometimes doesn't show the image. Do I have to save the image also in the repository? or in a common shared folder? If I embed the logo does it not mean that the xlf hold the copy?
Any help in this regards is highly appreciated.

1) Do you need your combox overlapped? I tried to overlap my comb box and preview it, seems works fine for me. it only chooses the first comb box. But I am suggesting that if you want to show/hide the different combox in the same position at run time, you can try to control the visibility by some other component.
2) The answer is NO, the image embedded in the image component will be saved to xlf file, there is no need to save it individually. Try to clean your cache files in your machine and do it again.
