Authorization review process document

Hi all,
Our management wants to review authorization of all users yearly once. They are asking for a process document which will state all the process and procedures  to do the same.I have no clue how should I go about it.
Can anybody please help with a document or something so that I can start preparing a "process document for annual authorization review".
Thanks,
Suman

Hello Chittranjan,
This is something for which you would need advise from your functional team. While doing auditing is a system adminsitrator or auditor's job the actual conceptual design of audit needs to be discussed with functional people as well.
First of all it depends on your business processes as well as on the modules of SAP which are in main use in your project.
Not only you need to check if the authorizations are vertically organized as also laterally.
Vertically means that a clerk in a department you should have restricted access for only what he is doing and a manager should have greater access.
Laterally means if your organization has mutiple sub units which can be identified with plants, company codes etc. then you need to make sure users belonging to one sub unit should have access for other sub unit/department.
Then also you need to the processes with in the organization.
There has to be a check on who creates master data and transactional data and who does not. Also check on customising authorizations needs to be in place. Similarily development authorizations also need to be brought under the ambit of the document.
The customising and development part is simple as it has to be restrcited to functional guys and developers respectively but master data and transactional data part is integrated with business proceeses. Also this is generally handled by end users.
You need to take advise from process owners also.
Regards.
Ruchit.

  • Document review process

I have a question about the workflow of a document review using Acrobat 9.
When I send a document for review and people make comments, when I want to reply, what is the best way to send the document back? The way i am doing it was to send the document back for review again. It just seems that there is a step out of line doing it that way. It may be the only way, but i just needed to check with someone else that may be using this.
    Thanks

    Thanks for answering ...
Still, does anyone has an idea about the first error I mentioned?
I tried to follow instructions in the Document Review Process Tutorial (to create a whole new project/bpel process), when I tried to compile it I got the following errors:
    Error(80) [ORABPEL-10014] Unresolved variable
Description: In line 80 of <bpel file> of the <to> is not defined
I went through the bpel code and it is failing in the setUserDefinedAttributes at each of the copy rules.
I opened the Rules in the Diagram editor and it looked ok:
    expression: concat("Review of " ,bpws:getVariableData('inputVariable','payload','/client:DocumentReview2ProcessRequest/client:documentTiltle'))
    To: Xpath: /task:task/task:title
The only thing is that the task:title was not highlighted as usual, so I tried by going through the tree and highlight it .. the xpathd did not change but the entry was now highlighted. I compiled it again and now the error for that specific variable is gone. now I am getting the error on the next Assignment rule...
The fact that by using the WF template to create the process left this kind of errors and that they are fixed by going through them and re-do the copy rule looks to me like a bug.. Any feedback is appreciated

  • REVIEW PROCESS USING WORKFLOW:CANNOT FIND 'SUBMIT FOR REVIEW' LINK/BUTTON

We installed Oracle Workflow in the Files Storage database and completed all
the required steps for integrating Workflow with Files sucessfully. This
morning, I started trying to test the functionality of review process, but
could not locate the 'Submit for Review' link/button any where. All other
(workflow related) links are visible. For e.g. I can see 'workflow' link on top
right hand corner of the page. Also, I see 'Review Process' links that shows no
review processes as I have not created any.
The documentation is not clear as how to create the review process. Could any one, please let
me know how to find this 'Submit for Review' button/link?
    Thanks

the submit for review process is available for workspaces - create one, assign members, upload a document.

  • Configuration of  User Access Review process

    Hi,
    I'm new to the forum.
I´m looking at the User Access Review process in CUP.
I would like implement the User Access Review request. So, my question is:
    1.  Where take GRC the data to make the analysis? I need to know the exactly place where data are collected (which table, transaction code or  statistical data)
In case that GRC use the backend tables, I should be aware of time that tables are operational in the system, correct?
    2. Otherwise, how affects this analysis the performance in backend system?
    3. I have read that it is possible obtain reports with use of Action Usage. The report that I mention is: RAR --> Informer --> Security Reports --> Miscellaneous --> Action Usage by User
Where does it gets information from? Could be data in the same place that use User Access Review process?
    4. Is it possible to introduce another actors in the Reviewers (In Configuration Tab, User Review > Options > User Review pane)? Now, the reviewers configured are Manager or Role Owner.
    5. To set User Access Reviews, I need some additional technical or is an automatic procedure?
If there is any requirements that I should be taken into account please, let me know.
    Thanks in advance
    Marta

    Hi,
I have found this document that answers all my questions:   www.sdn.sap.com/irj/bpx/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b05010a3-ed45-2c10-79b2-96df60a6bf2b
So, now I have another question:
The GRC Access Control that I have, ERM is not configured and there is no communication with it; (only RAR and CUP are configured).  So, I would like to know if it´s possible configured User Access Review apart from ERM.
To realize the Role Usage Synchronization job in ERM, the transaction usage information from RAR alert data is needed. The job also obtains role to user assignments and role content information from the back-end systems. Access Control then translates the transaction usage information into role usage.
If this information could be extracted from the backend tables, I am looking for an alternative to way to load data in the system, regardless ERM. Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance

  • Application Submitted 3 Months Ago, Still in Review Process

I enrolled for the iOS developer program June 8th, and faxed in the requested documents June 9th.
It has been almost 3 months now and my account is still in the review process.
I have emailed 10 times and called 3 times. Email replys say they have recieved the document I faxed and that it is in que to be looked at. Phone calls confirm the same that they have received the document but a different department handles the verification process and that they will pass along the word to try and get it sped up.
This process has been a complete nightmare. Anyone else experiencing this?

  • Work status - review process issues

    Hello everybody;
i'm defining some BPF with the review process enabled, but when it comes to the reviewer to review the first step the second step doesn't get enabled even after the click on the note pad. i've been searching in forums and blogs but i woluld like a better explained document about the config for the work status. Does anyone knows where can i find it?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Nilanjan,
Sorry but i'm having issues again with the BPF when i try to go to next step, it shows as "unavailable" the second steps and the firts one appears with a "review requiered" legend, but even after the change of the workstatus the second step remains as unavailable . The "send email to reviewers upon completion" is enabled. I think everything else is  well configured, any other idea of what can i do or change?

  • EBP Reviewer process - Additional step

    Hi All,
I am new to Workflow world. We got a EBP Service Confirmation workflow running at the moment with single approval process. It’s a custom workflow coped from WS1040002.
We got a new requirement where in I have to add additional process to review before approval. For approval and review we have custom ‘Z’ table which holds all approver/reviewer list for each plant/Agreement number/PO Number. If no entry in table it will go to person with ADMIN role. Can anyone point me at some document or link where I can follow to complete this review process. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Trim

Probably you can create a new screen for the reviewer where he can say yes or not, and then set a flag in workflow according to his action.
If the flag is set (reviewer reviewed and sais that it requires an approval) then go to next step approval step.
I don't know what you functionality is, say there is a sales order. THen desing a screen giving some of that slaes order data. When the reviewer double clicks on it he can go to va03. On the main screen add a button with Approval required .If reviewer clicks on it that means approval is required.
Include entire thing in your method. If user is clicking on button approval reuired then set a flag. use thar flag in your workflow to proceed further.
    Thanks,
    Shweta

  • What happends when you give 2 groups with some of the same members different authorizations for a document

    Hello,
I'm doing my internship at a litte Telekom company. I'm investigating how they can use MS SharePoint as their central place to put projectinformation. Now i've been thinking what happends when i do the following:
    Make one document library
Add 2 groups to the Active Directory, group "A" with all the employees and group "B" with only four people working on a project. When i add a document to the document library and set the authorizations for the document as
    follows:
    Group B: Read/Write
    Group A: Read
Does the people from group B still be able to edit the document, because they are also in group A?
I don't have a test environment to test this myself.
Why i want to know this? The company want's one place to place all their documents with projectinformation. This information is about different projects. You only wan't that people can change the specific document when they are working on the specific project
    where the document belongs to.

You get the union of permissions, so if one group allows access and the other not, you will get the union of both and therefore access. Of course, you can break security settings per library/folder or document, and specify new settings,
    if you need too.
    Kind regards,

  • Can I set up a review process in LiveCycle? Is what I want to do, at all possible? Anyone chime in.

What is the best way to set up a review process, without violating the EULA and having a form that is editable by the end user AFTER it is submitted.
Basically the process will go like this..
    1. A user will log onto our website and click a link where he or she downloads a dynamic form.
    2. The user will submit the form to multiple parties at once. (Conditional e-mail, depending on what sections in the form are filled out, different people will get the form)
    3. The form will get reviewed, and if any changes need to be made, the person that originally filled out the form will need to get it back and make the necessary changes. (The forms are long, so they can't start from scratch).
    4. After the changes have been made, the form will be re-submitted for final review.
    5. After the form has been finalized, the completed form will be distributed to about 80 people within the company (attached to an e-mail or something) and these people will use the data within the form to populate what they need to.
    Additional information:
-I am the only one that has Acrobat 9 Standard OR Professional.
    -Everyone else has Reader only
    -The forms are dynamic
-They have to be posted to a website
Is this at all possible? I can't figure out how this can be done.
I hope that was clear, please ask if you have questions.

    Hi,
You can Reader Enable a form in Acrobat v9 Standard, however note the EULA with the restriction on 500 unique recipients. If it is going out to less than 500 you are not limited to the number of data processes that you undertake on the form.
See discussion here on Reader Enabling a form: http://assure.ly/etkFNU.
You would need to Reader Enable the form before you put it up on the web page.
You can script a regular button to submit the form to user-entered email addresses. See here: http://assure.ly/eUR4wJ. The first email button could be used to send out the form for review. The last section in the form could be a text field to allow reviewers to add comments and a second email button that would issued the amended form back to the originator for further action.
Both email buttons would get their email address(s) from completed fields in the form. In addition the email submission can be set up to return the PDF form and not just the data. IF the form is Reader Enabled then users with Reader will be able to complete this action.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Apple seriously needs to fix the review process

I know this has been discussed ad nauseam but I'm really frustrated about how reviews are handled by Apple.
I mean, what gives? Are they treating us like dirt because A) they don't care because devs are rushing to the iPhone platform or B) they are overwhelmed by submissions?
One of my apps has been in review for over 2 weeks (I know... some have been over a month so why am I complaining?) and there's no way to know when it's made available (if ever... Apple criteria's seem to change from day to day). 1 hour? 1 day? 1 week? 1 month? Who knows!
Every day my app stays "In Review", I'm losing money from potential sales. It would be nice to get at least an estimate of when your app will be reviewed. Or, at least Apple could tell us a bit more about the review process so we understand how it works and don't panic when apps don't get reviewed before several weeks.
It's sad because the iPhone platform is just terrific but what I dislike is the fact that once you send your app for review, you lose control over it. The App Store does have it's advantages, but I think it's getting sour and while launching a desktop app might be more demanding money-wize and marketing-wize, at least you keep control of your distribution and you can release your product when you see fit, at not have it standing in review forever without knowing when you'll see a return on your investment.
The lact of information is very unfortunate and I just hope that the answer to my first question in B).

Does anyone have a phone number to call? Hard to believe paying developers have nobody to call.
I don't mind waiting, but I sure as **** want to know if there is something in my app that they are waiting on ME for.
It wouldn't kill them to have each guy in the review phase check a single box to say what he has reviewed and then notify you by email.
Has anyone reading this been able to talk to anybody at Apple, just to make sure that they aren't waiting for something to be added to the upload or fixed in the binary?
I submitted 2 apps - the one on the 24th sailed through and has sold 150 copies.
The one on the 26th is still sitting in review.
