Auto generate date field.

Is there a simple method for automatically displaying the current date in a form field? My form may take several days to run through the process I've created but the customer would like the final step's date input to be automated.

You can create a variable of type 'date'.
Then with a setValue use the expression current-date() to get the current date.
Finally use the setValue to set the data element on your form with the value of your date variable.

LiveCycle ES2 - Auto Populate Date field when signed

Good afternoon,
I've got a signature field called "sgnPOC" and a date field called "sgnPOCDate" I'd like to have the date field filled in automatically when the sgnPOC is digitally signed.
I added the following to the postSign* event to sgnPOC.
FORM.Main.sgnPOCDate.rawValue = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", new Date());
and different variations including setting the date to yyyymmdd and like. It just won't auto populate. It passes the script check in the script editor.
any ideas?

I tried the following - to no success.
FORM.Main.sgnPOC::postSign - (JavaScript, client)
var myDate=date()
FORM.Main.sgnPOCDate.rawValue = Num2Date(myDate, "YYYY-MM-DD")
I also tried this
FORM.Main.sgnPOC::postSign - (JavaScript, client)
var myDate=date()
$.rawValue = Num2Date(myDate, "YYYY-MM-DD")
Which also did not work, but wouldn't that need to know where to put the date?

Forms 11g auto-complete date field

Hi,
In forms60 we had a few registry keys that made it possible for the end user to type in parts of a date and have it auto-completed.
Example :
The user wants to type in 20/10/2010 but merely had to type in 20<ENTER>
This worked in forms60, is there a way to achieve this in forms 11g?

I just investigated it a little more and it appears it all depends on the following registry keys :
HKLM\Software\Oracle\forms60_user_date_format which has value : ddmmyyyy|ddmm|dd|dd/mm/yy|ddmmyy|dd/mm|dd/mm/yyyy
HKLM\Software\Oracle\forms60_user_datetime_format which has value : ddmmyyyyhh24mi|ddmmyyyy hh24mi|dd/mm/yyyy hh24:mi|ddmm hh24mi|ddhh24mi|dd hh24mi|ddmmhh24mi|ddmmyyyyhh24mi
These appear to define in what formats a user can input a date.
The one I was talking about appears to be about the *|dd|* which would imply the user can input the day and the rest will be autocompleted.
I did find another thread about this issue, but it is for 10g and they never really found out the whys and hows...

Auto-generate form fields from PDF in LiveCycle?

I have a PDF created with InDesign that is destined to be an interactive PDF form. For previous versions I have imported it into Acrobat and had it generate the fields based on the text columns I layed out in InDesign.
I wanted to try for more function in my form, so I thought I'd use LiveCycle, but I can't figure out how to get it to automatically create form fields when I first import the PDF. Is this not something that LiveCycle does, or am I just missing something?

I don't like automatically generated PDFs.
But sure you can create this with the LCD. The only thing is that the acrobat recognize lines (for example) and place a textobject to this location. The LCD not really.
Open the LCD
Then select "New Form".
Then select "Import PDF".
Then select "Create"
Then the software will try to recognize everything..
My opinion is - THE BEST WAY to create a formular is this to create by myself in the LCD step by step. Then this software has so many possibilities...for really good PDFs.

Auto populate date field in form

I have been trying to get a field in a form to automatically populate with todays date. I have got a script which defines the default value for the field as: document.dform.currentdate.value=displayfirst+"/"+displaysecond+"/"+displaythird
where dform is the name of the form, and currentdate is the name of the field.
This works fine.
But I am using the form to populate another program, and the field name must be 00N20000001QbHo
I assumed therefore that I should use: document.dform.00N20000001QbHo.value=displayfirst+"/"+displaysecond+"/"+displaythird
But this does not work. In Dreamweaver the .00 appear red.
I suspect that I need to put 00N20000001QbHo in parentheses or something similar.
Can anyone help a newbie who doesn't know what he is doing? Full script below

Auto-Incrementing Date Field

In my report I have information on parts that have been ordered. I have the part number, date ordered, quantity ordered, date received, among others. What I want to do is insert a custom field that gives me each day that had transpired beteen the Date Ordered and the Date Received. I want one row for each intervening date, including the Date Ordered and the Date Received. How can I do that?

I am not sure if you can get a dates between ordered date and received date. However you can get it as a comma separated list as a field.
Try following formula

Auto wrap data field in a subreport

I have a subreport in my main report that displays one field. The subreport uses a stored procedure that returns one row that is made up of a CSV string. I have "Can Grow" set for the field but it does not wrap to the next line in the subreport. If the string is to long, it cuts off the end and does not display on the next line. Is there another setting I need to set? Or can I even do this?

Right click the 'Subreport' and select 'Format Subreport'.
Check the checkbox of 'Can Grow' option.
Now you will see the entire CSV string spanning across multiple lines.

How to Create a Auto Generated number with some preceding text in Sharepoint 2010

I am trying to create a auto generated number field in Sharepoint 2010 list item. My requirement is to have the following format number generated when new request is created in Sharepoint using form. Auto generated Ticket ID should be in the following format
"IR13000" "IR13001" "IR13002"....... Please let me know how to get this done. I tried to use combination of default ID and Characters but its not working for new requests, its only reflecting for existing uploaded requests. I
am trying this for taking up Ticket requests by filling up some fields in the form. Any quick help is much appreciated.

Here are the steps:
1 - Open your SharePoint site in SP Designer 2010.
2 - Click Workflows and add a List workflow. Associate this workflow on the list where you want the Random Text to be generated.
3 - Inside the workflow editor, select the Action "Update list item"
4 - Select 'Current Item'.
5 - Click Add.. and select the field which needs to be updated with the Random Text. Make sure this column is not of type "Calculated" type, otherwise you won't see it in the list of the fields within the workflow.
6 - Click "..." button in the next textbox which will open String Builder dialog box.
7 - Type IR and then click 'Add or Change Lookup and select ID column from "Field from source". Hit OK.
8 - It should look like IR[%Current Item:ID%]
9 - Hit OK.
10 - Save and publish the workflow. (Please note that currently this workflow is not set to auto run on creating new items. That's because we want to test it at this point of time).
11 - Go to your list in SharePoint and create a new item. After creating, select the item and click Workflows and then run this workflow.
12 - You should be able to see the text "IR1" in the designated column.
13 - Once you see that it's working, go to SPD and set the workflow to run automatically on creation of the new item. Save and publish and then return to your list in SharePoint.
14 - Create a new item there and you should see the Random value in the column.
15 - You will also see the column in the New form. In order to remove it, go to List settings > content types > Item content type > and select Hidden for this column so that it doesn't showup in any form.
Try it and let me know how it goes.

I suggest what you can do is to create one sequence in your database and use it to generate automatic
empno.
In post query trigger try to implement the idea.
Suppose in the name of the sequence is empno_seq.
if emp.empno is null then
:emp.empno := empno_seq+1;
end if;

Update Fund & Fund center data in auto generated PR during MRP RUN

Problem in the MRP auto generated PRs.
The normal PRs created manually have all relevant fields of fund center viz CO area ,commitment item,Funds center, fund.
But the problem is with respect to the Purchase Requisitions generated automatically during the MRP RUN.
How to include the fund centers in MRP generated PRs automatically in the creation stage itself instead of going into change mode using ME52n Transaction code and change it to include fund centers one by one for each line item.
We require this as we have hundreds of PRs generated every day.

In order to fulfill this requirement, transaction FM_MRP_PR should be used.
Please also take a look to FM_MRP_PR on-line documentation :
The PRs generated from the MRP run are considered as planning documents
and do not have any impact on the budget. To encumber these PRs in the
corresponding settlement receivers, you have to execute this program for
the relevant PRs.

Source: MS SQL Server
Date Data Type: smalldatetime
Date field Format: yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss --> example: 2009-11-13 00:00:00
XI Mapping: Source Date --> Transformation --> Target Date
Transformation: yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss to yyyyMMdd
Target: R/3 System
Date Data Type: ERDAT from VBAK table - Date on Which Record Was Created
Date field Format: Date field (YYYYMMDD) stored as char(8)
Check points:
1. Mapping is working fine in XI and transformation is done with the test data: 2009-11-13 00:00:00 --> to ---> 20091113
2. In SXMB_MONI the data is processed from the source and the IDoc XML data is generated. In the IDoc XML data the date field is containing the value <DATE>20091113</DATE>
3. But when I tried to open the IDoc(SE05) in R/3 the date field is empty and no data is generated.
Request you to let me know why the error is happening.

First try to test the same IDOC generated in ECC Box by populating date field value using WE19 and test .
Or
Instead of passing date value from SQL Server, Just give a try with Current Date function in Mapping and test in ECC system.
then we can think on further analysis.

How do I auto fill a date field for an Adobe form?

Hi. I am new to Acrobat. I would like to have Acrobat auto fill today's date in a date field when I open an acrobat form. I check the forum help and it indicated that I associate this javascript text to the field:

Is there a text field in the PDF labeled "Today" and set as a date field? And does the Date Options format set for the field match what is in the JavaScript (mm/dd/yyyy)?

Formatting a date field auto populated with Javascript

I have a date field, which I auto-populate to be the current days date with the following code:
var date=new Date();
var month=date.getMonth()+1;
this.rawValue=month+"/"+date.getDate()+"/"+(date.getYear()-100);
This works fine, but it comes out as 7/20/12 instead of 07/20/2012 like my pattern defines.
Whether or not I write my code to be the correct format, I always get an "Invalid format" error. How can I fix this?

The solutions is to format the date in YYYY-MM-DD when setting the raw value.

Auto populate a date field in pdf

in the form I am working on I have a date/time field. I need it to populate the current date when the form is open. I get it to work but it has the time on it. I only need the date. when I try to change it to display just the date. It will not auto populate ? please help. Thank you for any one who can help.

I found out how to use current date.
To add current date fields in LifeCycle
You can use a date/time field to automatically show the current date by using the Runtime Property option in the Value tab of the Object palette.
Note: When using a current date field, the date updates to reflect the system’s current date each time a user opens the form.
1. In the Object Library palette, click the Standard category and drag a Date/Time Field object onto the form design.
2. In the Object palette, click the Value tab and select Calculated - Read Only from the Type list.
3. Select the Runtime Property option.
4. View the form in the Preview PDF tab.
