Auto populate affected users.

We are currently using CA Unicenter but we are have set up a test environment to evaluate if SCSM 2012 R2 can replace it.
I have not found any documentation that describes how the affected user field can automatically be populated when you select a user and create an incident or request in the console under configuration Items and users.
Thanks for the help in advance.

It depends on what you are trying to achieve, you can however always use Orchestrator to add relationships within SCSM based on templates or other criteria.

  • How to Auto-Populate a User Data Picker?

    I understand how User Data Pickers work (mostly).  We have used them during the shell creation process to allow the creator to specify which users may access the shell and in what user groups they will be placed.  This works fine— as the shell is created, these users are added and assigned to their respective groups.
    From the documentation, User Data Pickers are supposed to support auto-population, but the system does not allow me to select a suitable source from which to pull.  For example, the shell attribute form contains a User Data Picker that contains the name of the PM that was assigned to the shell.  Say I have a BP in that shell on which I want the PM’s name to appear.  I’m thinking I would place a User Data Picker on the BP and auto-populate that field from the shell attribute user data picker, but uDesigner doesn’t allow the attribute form as source as it does for other DE types.  This is important as this field, the PM’s name, must be located on the BP if I’m to use it in a LiveCycle report.
    Short of having the user select the name again within the BP, how do I pass the names of shell members that were selected during shell creation using User Data Pickers?
    Thanks.

    That works!  Thanks Rich for clarifying your above posts with the screenshots.
    Rich’s solution as it worked for me:
    1.  Add a User Data Picker to the shell attribute form.
    2.  Add a DE of DD SYS Medium Name to the shell attribute form.  The DD type appears critical here and was my mistake in the past.
    3.  Auto-populate the DE created in step 2: Source Name-->Data Picker; Source Element-->uuu_user_name (in this case).
    4.  On the BP, place the same DE as step 2 and auto-populate (or link) it to the same DE on the shell attribute form.
    What I didn’t expect:
    1. User Data Pickers on BPs cannot reference User Data Pickers on shell attribute forms.  Why do we need additional fields to link two other fields of the same type?
    2. In operation the auto-populate, setup in step 3 above, occurs immediately as if it were a formula instead of just populating upon the shell creation stup as it would on BP creation.

  • How to Auto-populate TextField in Acrobat x with a value determined by user check box selection?

    I have a group of 3 Check Boxes for user to select their Work Shift:  The check boxes are set up to be mutually exclusive (same name: "EMP_Shift", different Export Values: Day, Evening, Night).
    Form Field properties name:      EMP_Shift (for all 3 check boxes)
    Acrobat edit panel field names:  EMP_Shift#0, EMPShift#1, EMPShift#2
    Export Values:                         Day, Evening, Night (chose these only because they are descriptive)
    I need to Auto-populate a Text Field named EMP_WorkShift with "Day" if EMP_Shift#0 is selected, "Evening" if EMPShift#1 is selected, or "Night" if EMPShift#2 is selected.
    Is there a script I can use to accomplish this in Acrobat Pro X.

    The simplest is to set up the text field to be calculated using the following custom Calculate script:
    // Get the value of the check box
    var v = getField("EMP_Shift").value;
    // Set this field value
    event.value = v !== "Off" ? v : "";
    You'd normally set the text field to be read-only, but if you want the user to be able to edit the text field, you can instead use the following script in the Mouse Up event of each check box:
    // Get the value of the check box
    var v = event.target.value;
    // Set the value of the text field
    getField("EMP_Workshift").value = v !== "Off" ? v : "";

  • Auto-populate form fields based on end user input?

    I'm currently attempting to create a new form that has a combo box "Locations" with various options.  What I'm looking to do is have another text field auto populate other fields related to that location (such as address, contact information) to save on time and reduce opportunity for end user errors in input.
    What are my options for accomplishing such a task?  Some form of binding fields with a MS database possibly?
    Thanks in advance for any advice and assistance on this matter!

    Paul,
    The form and (potential) database would be located on a shared drive on the company network in which those that would use the form already have access to.
    The pc's that user's would be using have Reader 9.
    The pc I'm using for developing this form has LC Designer 8, Acrobat Professional 8, and Reader 9.
    Ideally, I would "like" for the end user to have the ability to add new locations, addresses, etc ... in the event it is needed, although this would not be likely to come up.
    Based on the software I have on hand, and the need to not incur additional expenses, what would you suggest?
    Thanks again Paul!

    Please advice how to accomplish it...

    Hi,
    After user saves the forms that means commit to the database, so you can simply write a trigger like:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER "AUDIT"
    before insert or update on TABLE1
    for each row
    begin
    :new.user_field := nvl(v('APP_USER'),user);
    end;

  • How do I auto populate a text box if a check box is ticked in Acrobat XI Pro?

    Basically, i have been asked to create a catalogue of sorts for my organisation with a form at the end that will be completed by the end user. it will be a catalogue of books and toys that people can request to borrow from us. Its all specialist equipment that we loan out for disabled people. When they are scrolling through the catalogue i would like there to be a check box and if they would like to borrow that item they would tick that box and any other products that they would like to borrow. Is it possible to have a text box that auto populates with a list of the items they have selected. the form would be similar to the one below. it the box next to Products to borrow i would like it to add products as they tick the boxes in the preceeding pages. I would be happy to share an example document if needed. thanks in advance for any help.
    Name
    Address
    Products to borrow

    Thank you for your willingness to help.
    The problem with a drop down is that it would not present all options when printed, and some of our users will be completing this form manually (printed). All options need to be displayed.
    Here's an example:
    SELECT PREFIX:
    A12
    B12
    C12
    They can check one of the above and then based on what they select, I want the next box (a text field) to pre-fill with their selection.
    So if they select A12, the text box would automatically fill with A12.

  • PROBLEM WITH AUTO POPULATE IN THE GOOGLE SEARCH BOX

    When I type in the google search box it auto populates search terms as it always has. However since upgrading to FF4 when I click on the one I want to go to ... nothing happens. I have to type the full search every time. I don't see this issue anywhere in the forum, am I the only one having this problem?

    How Firefox is opened should not matter.
    It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware.
    Open your '''Add-ons Manager <Control><Shift > A''' and make sure you
    know what each one is and what it does.
    Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause
    Firefox issues. '''Disable All of them.'''
    Also, check the programs that are on your computer
    '''Windows:''' Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs.
    '''Mac:''' Open the "Applications" folder.
    '''Linux:''' Check your user manual.
    Go thru the list. If you find something that you don't
    know what it is, use a web search.

  • Auto populate in forms

    I'm creating textboxes in a form where multiple users will fill out their contact info.  As I fill in the text box the lines below a given column automatically populate with the information above.  So if in line 1  I filled out John Smith for name When I began typing for line 2 John Smith would auto populate.  I'm not sure because the PDF was created before I started my current job but I think it was a PDF created from a word doc.  Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

    If the field names are the same, this is the behavior that you will get. So if you want to avoid this, simply give the fields unique names.

  • How to auto-populate dates in a calendar based on radio buttons?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create an availability form that is submitted on a monthly basis. What I'd like is to have a radio button the user could click to indicate what day the first of the month falls on (Monday through Sunday), and have fields auto-populate with the remainder of the dates on the calendar. As it stands right now, I've got the radio buttons and the text fields, but I'm running into serious issues getting the text fields to auto-fill based on the selected radio button.
    I've labelled the radio button group "First Day of Month" and the individual values are "Monday" "Tuesday" "Wednesday" "Thursday" "Friday" "Saturday" "Sunday" and "Start". The "Start" button is hidden but is checked by default.
    My text fields are even simpler: "Monday 1" "Monday 2" "Monday 3" "Monday 4" and "Monday 5" (and then, obviously, repeated for each day of the week.
    I am horrible at scripting, so I think that might be where I'm running into issues. What I'd like to put is something like this (only, you know, functional, and for each days' text value):
    For "Monday 1"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Monday", "Monday 1.value" ="1"
    else "Monday 1.value" = ""
    For "Wednesday 3"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Sunday", "Wednesday 3.value" = "11"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Monday", "Wednesday 3.value" = "17"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Tuesday", "Wednesday 3.value" = "16"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Wednesday", "Wednesday 3.value" = "15"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Thursday", "Wednesday 3" = "14"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Friday", "Wednesday 3.value" = "13"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Saturday", "Wednesday 3.value" = "12"
    else "Wednesday 3.value" = ""
    For "Sunday 5"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Sunday", "Sunday 5.value" = "29"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Friday", "Sunday 5.value" = "31"
    if "First Day of Month.value" = "Saturday", "Sunday 5.value" = "30"
    else "Sunday 5.value" = ""
    Is this possible? I have no doubt there's a better way to do it (with proper coding and everything), so any help would definitely be appreciated!

    Hello,
    Which sharepoint edition you are using? I would prefer to customize your list form in infopath form then add new connection which will connect to your SQL. Later you can filter data based on cust ID. Here is the link to add connection in infopath:

  • Auto-populate checkboxes in a form

    I'm working on a form in ApEx that has several checkbox fields on it, and am having some trouble getting them to auto-populate. Based on a selection on the welcome page of this application, certain checkboxes should auto-populate so that users should be able to opt out of certain criteria on the form.
    Here's an example:
    On page 1 of this application, the user chooses what type of report they are requesting. Their options are: "Internal Use" "Non-Solicitation Mailing" "Solicitation Mailing" "Solicitation" "Invitation" and "Other." On the next page (the form itself), there are several different conditional items called "(type of request)_Exclusions," and all of these are checkboxes based on a Static LOV. For example, for a request that is listed as "Internal Use," the checkboxes for "Deceased" "Lost" and "No Mail" should be automatically checked so that the user has the option to opt out, and their values should be returned to the database.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    You want the checkboxes to be checked by default in the form while creating a new record in the database. Suppose that form page number is 7 and it has a hidden item P7_ID (refererring primary key of database table) and checkbox item P7_IS_ACTIIVE (refererring IS_ACTIVE column of database table and can have values 'Y' or 'N'). Now edit P7_IS_ACTIIVE item and scroll to Default section.
    Type Default Value = case when :P7_ID is null then 'Y' end;
    Default Value Type = PL/SQL Expression
    In the List of Values section type List of Values Definition = STATIC2:Active;Y.
    Click Apply Changes and create Automatic Row Processing (DML) process On Submit -After Computations and Validations for insert, update and delete of database table records. Type Item Containing Primary Key Column Value = P7_ID.
    Whenever you create a new record the P7_IS_ACTIIVE is always checked.
    Else if this is not what you need you can refer the example posted by Denes as 'Checkbox Y/N' on http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:123:1499221457271585::NO

  • Auto populate values in the the database table

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where user enter values in one of the ZTransaction. This will update a Ztable. So the new requirement is to add two new columns in the fields, which is completed. Now this two new fields are supposed to auto populate values based upon the key field .
    The transaction code is defined with Transaction as SM30 and Default values as
    Name of the screen field     value
    Update                               X
    VIEWNAME                      "table name which the values are updated".
    Please let me know how to do this.
    Thank you!!

    Hi Swetha,
    I am unsure of what you are trying to accomplish so I will make a few assumption and perhaps you can find some benefit in it.
    I suppose you are trying to add new fields to a custom (Z) database table.
    If so then use SE11 to add the two new columns.
    After this is complete then rebuild the table maintenance by using the following path: SE11-> Utilities->Table Maintenance Generator.  (Remember to double check the Recording Routine Radio button.)
    If the user needs fields automatically populated then check the following link.  It describes how to use table maintenance events.  I suppose you need to use Event 01 and Event 05.

  • Using JavaScript to auto populate a field based on numeric value of a separate drop down field

    Hello, I am trying to set up a simple, I hope, javascript which will enable to me auto populate one field based on the numberic value of another field using Acrobat Pro XI.
    Essentially I have 2 drop down fields (we'll call them DD1 and DD2).
    DD1 is the sum of 8 preceding drop down values. That sum can be anywhere from 0 - 40. Whatever that sum falls within a range which identifies a rating. The ratings and ranges are below:
    0-8: Non-Performer
    9-16: Low Performer
    17-24: Performer
    25-32: High Performer
    33-40: Exceptional Performer
    DD2 is where the rating ("non-performer", "low performer", etc.) will be captured. Instead of requiring the user to look at DD1, determine the value, and then identify and input the rating manually, I would like DD2 to auto populate the rating based on the value (sum) in DD1.
    For example, if DD1 shows a value of 27 then DD2 would auto populate "High Performer". So how do I write this code or execute this? In excel I would use an if, then statement. Is there something similar in Acrobat Pro XI.
    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    If you use a text field, the custom calculation script could be:
    // Custom calculation script for text field
    (function () {
        var s = getField("DD1").valueAsString;
        // Blank this field if input is blank
        if (!s) {
            event.value = "";
            return;
        // Convert string to number
        var v = +s;
        // Set this field's value based on the input
        if (v <= 40 && v >= 33) {
            event.value = "Exceptional Performer";
            return;
        if (v < 33 && v >= 25) {
            event.value = "High Performer";
            return;
        if (v < 25 && v >= 17) {
            event.value = "Performer";
            return;
        if (v < 17 && v >= 9) {
            event.value = "Low Performer";
            return;
        if (v < 9 && v >= 0) {
            event.value = "Non-Performer";
            return;
        // If none of the above fit, blank this field
        event.value = "";

  • Auto populate text field base on anothe r text field input

    ive created a medical form that the end user enters codes for medical reasons and a description for that code. the description are very long and tedious. is there a way to have the user enter the code in one field  and have it auto populate another field with the correct description?
    I was able to do this with a  combo box but not with a standard text box. please note, i  have never learned javascript and have been ""duct taping" peices of code to make things work  up until now . appreciate the help

    The advantage of the combo box is the automatic validation of the input as the selection is made.
    You can use control statements like the "if" or "switch" statement or perform an array lookup. This action can be performed in the on blur action of the input filed or in the calculation script for the target field.
