Automatic Purchase Requestition creation for item category "L" (Stock Item)

Hi All,
I have a query,
When components are assigned to a maintenance order whose item category is "L" (Stock Item).
As soon as components are assigned a reservation number is generated by the system immediately.
Now my requirement is,
for an item category which is "L" (Stock item), while I am saving / releasing the order, system should do availability check and based on the qty available it should automatically generate reservation (in case of full qty is available) or a purchase requisitions ( in case of non availability).
Is this feasible? If so kindly let me know how it can be done.
Currently in my case,
i am getting a reservation number for an an item whose item category is "L" but the stock qty is "zero". System should have ideally generated a purchase requisitions number for such a case because of actual available qty being "zero"
Is there any setting called "reservation time" so that after checking the availability of that item system decided whether a reservation number should be generated or a purchase requisition number?

I wud like to share with you  a content of SAP documentation which is as follows:
"You can plan materials that are required to execute the task for each operation in the maintenance order. The materials can be bill of material components for the reference object or freely assigned material.
<u>The materials that you plan for the maintenance order will be reserved in the warehouse, if they are kept in stock. You can set the reservation time in your system using the customizing function. In customizing, it is decided for each order type, whether the system should make the material reservation effective or generate the purchase requisition immediately or only when the order is released.</u>
An availability check can be called up when components are assigned in the order.
An automatic availability check is performed when the order is released. The order can also be released if there is no availability.
A material provision list and material withdrawal slips can be printed together with the order papers.
Planned goods issues are entered with reference to the reservation, such as reservation number, unplanned goods issues with reference to the order number.
The goods issues entered appear in the document flow of the order."
Now with this, is there a way out to resolve the issue?

  • MIGO 101 automatic purchase order creation

    Hi!
    We have Release 640 or at least 4.6C. We need to turn on the process, automatic purchase order creation by MIGO with movementtype 101 for two materials. So far the function in customizing is turned on (marked as on) but no reaction if I try it. The documentation is not very exactly than only to turn on which is already now! Can I fix this process just for two materials? What is wrong? Why does it not run? Do I need an additional note or any exit? Thanks for your support and help for more information for this process.

    So far I solved it on my own. It is an program error and solved with the note 324517.
    But another question. This is now running general but I need this process just for two materials not more! My idea would be to copy the transaction MIGO into a ZMIGO and fix this process just for the ZMIGO. So far, or is there a way to make this process only for the two materials available which I need in the original MIGO?

    perhaps you could use the BAdI MB_MIGO_ITEM_BADI to implement a check for the 2 given materials & issue an error message for everything else.

  • Third Party Sales - Automatic Purchase Order Creation- via  SO event

    Dear SAP Gurus,
    We have a requirement to have automatic PO Creation for Third Party Sales Process.
    To achieve it what I have done is
    a) I have created an event linking using transaction SWETYPV:
    Object = BUS2032, Event = ALECREATED and ALECHANGED ,
    Funtion module  = PUR_ORDER_CREATE_VIA_SD_EVENT.
    Also I have modified the Sales Organization data to pass Purchasing Organization,  Purchase Order type and Purchasing group . Its working fine . Its creating purchase order automatically.
    My question here is , I'm I doing the wright method for automatic PO creation as soon as a sales order is created.
    I beleive this will call for PO creation for all Sales order not only restricted to third party sales . Will it affect performance of the system or will it ignore since there is no purchase requisition.
    Please advise on the pros and cons of this process

    We use a fairly standard Third Party process. We use the Item Category to drive the Schedule Line Category, which is flagged as Third-Party. On the Material Master (Purchasing view), the Material is flagged for Automatic PO, same on the Vendor Master. Workflow automatically kicks in on SO save to trigger the creation of the PO for the Purchase Req.
    Unfortunately, Workflow is a bit of a dark art to me, so I couldn't tell you what we have in place. My feeling is that it is bog standard though.

  • Restrict material groups  at PR/PO creation for items w/o material master

    Dear SAP experts
    I have one question related to restricting material groups which are possible for selection during purchase requisition or purchase order creation.
    The material group is created and several material master records are linked to it. Now the requirement is that when users are creating either purchase requisitions or purchase orders it shouldn't be possible to select that specific material group>
    But this should be valid only if PR or PO are being created for items without material master record. If PR/PO is created for item with material master record then the restriction should not take place.
    What would be the nicest solution to achieve that?

    Thank you very much for your answer. i think it is a very good starting point.
    However I am not too familiar with authorization group configuration of material groups.
    Right now in our system (transaction OMSF) field authorization group is empty for all existing material groups.
    Does this mean that for the material group that I want to have restricted I need to have two entries: one with Authorization group ZOK and another with ZNOTOK (or whatever the naming would be)?
    Furthermore I would like to ask you where is then the link between authorization group and user exit?
    And thirdly: do you perhaps have some more details which user exit(s) are relevant for our topic?

  • Issue with Automatic Purchase Order creation.

    I am creating Automatic Purchase Order via transaction ME59N.
    I have  1 Purchase Requistion for 2 line items having 2 materials .When I create PO the system is creating 2 different PO's instead of one PO even though the Vendor is same.I am not able to understand why 2 PO are created even though PR is 1 .
    I would like to have one Purchase Order with 2 line items in the same way I have 1PR with 2 line items.

    Thanks for the reply.
    I checked the parameters and it is creating 2 PO when the Indicator Ordering address is set.If I uncheck this Indicator then only one PO is created.
    But now my question is from where is the Ordering address taken because for both line items Vendor is same and ordering address is also same.
    Then why the system is creating new PO?

  • Automatic Purchase Order Creation

    Dear All,
    I would like to test the scenario of automatic creation of PO. I have already checked the Auto PO indicator in material master and vendor master record. Info Record and Source list also exist. In MRP view i have maintained manual reorder point planning.
    When I run the MD02, system creates the Pur. Req.  but automatic PO generation doesn't exist. Please let me know what else I need to check or there is any more setting, which I have to do.

    In SAP, the automatic Purchase Order(PO) creation is possible via ME59- which via Purchase Requisitions. I would like to remind you, the automatic PO creation is possible only if Purchase requisition exists with required pre-requisites.
    Not possible to create the PO from Requirements. I mean to say not possible thru MRP. Where MRP is a requirement planning, order proposal. Order placement is an another process, which can be automated thru ME59- when PR exists.

  • TR creation for items with no available stock

    Hi,
    I have the problem that SAP is creating Transfer requirements for Items which we can not replenisment, because we do not have sufficient qty on stock.
    Where in customizing can I change this. We have a centralized WM.
    Also is there a way to turn-off TR creation at all. That means that system is creation directly TO's if possible and nor TR's at all?

    Go to OMLR which is the WM Interface to WM and for your movement type in the Column for TR creation leave it Blamk so that no TR is created and in the column for 'immediate' creation set 'A'

  • Purchase Order creation for TAB item

    Hi,
    I used TAB item in the Sales Order. Then I created Purchase Order(ME21n) using that Purchase req number. Then I went to ME23 and did goods receipt from the menu and clicked the item OK. Saved.
    Now when I tried to do delivery for the Order, its saying the stock is not there.
    I see the PO in the Doc Flow.
    Please help. Let me know the steps to create PO and delivery for this TAB item.

    yes I did.
    I used the confirmed schedule line as the delivery date in VL01n
    It is saying ZERO stock is available
    I can see my stock with type E for this Order in MB51
    Not sure why it is not allowing me to created delivery.
    Is it some storage location problem or sth? This is in testing Environment. I guess Production is working but I compared Material Master Data and POs from Productioni to testing.
    I don't see  anything different.

  • Automatic production order creation for remaining sales order quantity

    Hi All,
    My requirement is to create automatic production order for a particular material when the available quantity ( Stock in MD04) is less than the sales order / Delivery quantity.Automatic production order should only be created for deficit quantity.
    For example if i have stock of material A 100. I have recieved a sales order for 120 pieces. Now automatic production order should be created for 20 pieces only.
    Any inputs/ suggestions, please let me know.

    Hi Pawan
    In Material Master MM01 / MM02, you need to maintain 20 in MRP3 --> Planning --> Strategy Group.
    If you maintain this, items can be produced only against sale order you are creating.
    Dont forget to reward if this helps you.

  • Automatic Inspection Lot Creation for HUs (storage Loc.) in WHS

    Hi All,
    can someone guide me through customizing/with end result expected from client. How can I setup this configuration.
    The requirement is all Chem.Raw Materilas are subject to Quality inspection with HU managed storage Loc. with WMS.
    Good Receipt is posted Via Vl31n into Quality Stock. Subsequently a Transfer Order will be created & confirmed to transfer of materials from 902 interim storage type to destination storage type and bin. (due to lack of space in the Whse).
    Now expected is that when Usage decision made (Quality Managment) the stock type should change from Q to Unresticted within the same bin and same storage type and material should be made available to issue for orders.
    Also when GR is done 101 mvt. an inspection lot should generate automatically in Whse under the quant.

    Hi Chandra,
    Generally WM movement type '309' is assigned for posting change (Sap standard setting). This movement type is generally assigned against 321 IM movement type.
    Modify the settings for WM movement type '309' as below:
    Path: LE -> WM -> Activities -> Transfers -> Define Movement types
    - Automatic TO X (activate)
    - Activate 'To item can be confirmed immediately'
    - Activate 'propose confirmation'
    - Activate 'post to same bin'
    This should solve your problem.
    On your other question
    Generally the inspection lot is assosiated with the WM
    stock and Quant if the stock Quality stock is posted to bins directly.
    Please display the Quant using LS23 and let me know your findings.

    1. I create a Sales Order for quantity 20 of main material MAT which has two sub-components - COMP1 and COMP2. The plant in which this sales order is being created does not have any stock quantitiy of the material or its sub-components. For quantity 20 of the main material, quantities required of the sub-components are 40 and 60 respectively.
    2. I run MRP using transaction MD03 for the sub-components. This created purchase requisitions for the sub-components automatically. But, I see that the system creates only one purchase requisition of quantity 40 for COMP1 but two purchase requisitions for COMP2 each having quantity 60.
    Can you please tell me why is the system creating two purchase requisitions for COMP2?

    I compared the parameters - Safety stock, Lotsize, Maximum Lot Size, Reorder point - between the two components but found all the values to be same.
    The only difference I found in the parameter values was...
    For COMP2 (the one for which 2 PRs were generated) 'Special Procurement' field was blank
    For COMP1 this field had the value 4A which means "STO from X101 plant"
    Do you have any idea what could be the reason?
