Automatical deleting of content after time

Hello,
I'd like to make a cleanup of wasted data on Adobe Acrobat
Connect Professional - Server. My issue is to create a script in
Java, that integrate following points:
- material which was uploaded in a Meeting only reaches a
lifetime of 30 days
- material which was uploaded as meratial in the material
database only reaches a lifetime of 60 days
Is it possible to make this true, by using the web-API?
Or are there other ways to get rid of that issue?

I work with publisher for a long time now, and I don’t think that there is an automatic process that dose that, you have to manually delete it when it is expired.

  • What is the best way to automatically delete user profiles after x days of inactivity (school lab environment)?

I work at a school where we have multiple Mac Carts that have 30 MacBooks per cart. We image the macs every summer to delete the older user profiles but we are looking for way to possible have this done automatically through out the year to help with HDD space. What is the best way to delete user profiles after...say 180 days.... of inactivity automatically? I am open to login hooks, bash scripts, etc. Anything to get the job done. Thanks for any help or advice.

A search here turned up this post Deleting inactive users
It appears that the script posted will do as advertised though I would test it out on your systems and under your conditions to see if it does do what you need.

Message was edited by: Frank Caggiano - That script looks for users over 21 days. To look for ones over 180 days change the 21 to 180 in the find command.

  • Help automatic delete of request after update

    Hi all,
i need to configure an InfoPackage so it automatically delete a previus request on this condition:
    - The previous request is on the same month or..
    - The new request is into the five days of the next month.
So if an old request is from 23/12/2006 and new request is form 04/01/2007 the old request must be deleted.
But if the new request is from 06/01/2007 or beyond, the old request must not be deleted.
How can i solve this ?
    thx in advance

I dont have a sample code, but I can give you the logic which can help you program. Copy the infopackage id which will be something like...ZPAK_3V1PWX599NZE5NR5W2XD5BEU9. Now go to the table RSREQDONE, give this infopackage id for the field logdpid and it will show you all the requests that are loaded using this infopackage. Now sort the entries in the table in a descending order using TDATUM and TUZEIT fields (first by TDATUM and then by TUZEIT). Once this is done, select the first entry (which will be the latest load) and write the routine based on the TDATUM field. If TDATUM lies in the same month, then delete the request whose Request ID number is the same as the RNR number in the record you selected from RSREQDONE (the request id will be like...REQU_449W4IE405ZSI25W9WLXAB3FH). Else do not delete.
Hope this helps. Also, please paste the code here for future reference incase you were successful deleting the requests according to your selections.

  • Automatic deleting of datafiles after DROP TABLESPACE

Lazy junior dba question. How can i order oracle to delete files automaticly after deleting them from control file (like drop tablespace command)?
What technology/approach should I use? Can ASM help me?
    Thnaks.

    Well, ideally after issuing
DROP TABLESPACE <TBS_NAME> INCLUDING CONTENTS AND DATAFILES; the datafiles corresponding to that tablespace should get deleted automatically. Although, in my case, sometimes it gets deleted automatically, but sometimes it doesn't(Windows Server).
Comments from others will be useful.

  • Apple TV Randomly Deletes Entire Content After Restart

So I just plugged in my Apple TV to power and noticed that the first 30 seconds after the main menu is presented, browsing through the menu was very sluggish. I then proceeded to watch streamed content, and after the movie was done, I noticed that the Apple TV was resyncing everything I had synced to the Apple TV.
This isn't the first time this has happened to me. All I know is that the Apple TV remains linked to my iTunes library but, randomly, deletes content once in a blue moon after unplugging it from power and plugging it back in. Don't know if this is a bug in the system or if I am doing something wrong but, all in all, I'd like to know if any of you know what the heck I'm talking about.

That does not matter. If it does then Apple logic is incorrect (and I am saying this as software engineer and designer with quite alot of expereince in numer of large companies). The software is supposed to be transferred into "buffer" fully before it shows up in system structure. If it overrides the existing data then it HAS TO PROVIDE PROMPT with question to a user as this poses a risk of losing data.
So synching in background should NEVER override file risking corruption on power failure. Do you know how data backup systems work (e.g. storage)? This is not a new discipline and Apple should follow the general rules in implementation of such systems regardless if this is media synching for fun or not. People get involved their money in solutions and toying with solving problems on unreliable solution is not entertainment - listening to music and watching movies is entertainment. We pay for reliable solution that is not wiping out what costs time and money. If they provide unreliable solution then they should provide some info, procedure or perhaps a way for backup. They don't more frequently thses days (comapring to what I saw few years ago) so, I lost already two episodes of TV show that I purchased from their store and I am upset as well.
I rely on Apple TV a lot, but I feel I am wasting my time if company start treating me similarily like other big company (figure out which one) that I left for ALL Apple solutions in 2003.
Advises in manner "do not restart" are not appropriate, because sometimes you do not have control over power outage in your area and system should consider those as well (apart of other things that may delete content accidentally).

  • IPod nano 6th gen has deleted all content three times now

When I bought my new nano about 3 weeks ago I synched it up with iTunes (using Windows Vista) with no hassles. After a week or so I re-synched (as I do each day to get new podcasts) and when I unhooked the device it had no content on it. The only way to get the content back was a restore. It then worked fine then the same thing happened about 5 days later. Today the same thing has happened again. Each time I have to go through the synch summary screens and tell the machine which plyalists and audio books and podcasts to synch and of course the **** thing doesn't remember where I was up to in any of my podcasts or audio books which is extremely annoying. I'm using the same computer as I used with my old iPod classic which never had a problem like this, I'm hooking up directly from the device to the computer (not going through any USB hub or anything)...can anyone suggest why this might be happening and what I might do to ensure it doesn't happen again?

Thank you for your help, much appreciated
    Summary screen has 5 options
Open iTunes when this iPod is connected - ticked
Sync only ticked songs - ticked
Convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps AAC - not ticked
Manually Manage Music - not ticked
Enable disc use - not ticked
On the Music tab I have ticked the big sync music box at the top then in the box under that have selected the radio button for Selected playlists, artists and genres. There is nothing else ticked in that top box. In the boxes underneath I have only got ticked items in the playlists box
On the Podcasts tab I have ticked the big Sync podcasts box at the top and have it set to automatically include all unplayed episodes of selected podcasts then in the box below that I have ticked the podcasts I play on this iPod
On the Audiobooks tab I have ticked the big Sync Audiobooks tab at the top and have selected the radio button for selected audio books. The in the box below that I have one or two books from my library ticked at any one time.
On the Photos tab I have nothing ticked.

  • Lobby Ambassador - Automatic deletion from WCS after Expiry or Account

    Hi Guys,
When I create a guest account and the account time expires, the account still remains on the WCS (but not on the controller).
Is this a feature of the WCS or a bug?
If so, can I ask the WCS to automatically remove all guest users accounts from the WCS lobby ambassador either directly after expiry, or say at 00:00 hours every day?
    Many thx
    Ken

    Hi there,
    Many thx.
The way I understand it, is that yes the user expires, but you still have to clear down the username off the WCS periodically.
Just thought the WCS may be able to do this as the timer expires but had a chat with a few guys at Cisco and is not possible currently.
    Cheers
    Ken

  • Ipad 2 automaticly deletes e-mails after reading

Recently my ipad2 started deliting e-mails right after I open and read them.  It deleted all past e-mails also.  Dose anyone know why this happens and how to fix it. I have deleted and set up my e-mail account couple of time...unfortunately did not work.

Doubtful your iPad is doing this especially since there is no setting for this.
What type of account - Exchange, IMAP, or POP?

  • Why does "message to _________ deleted" come up every time I try to text a certain person?

Why is the only thing I recieve when I send a text to my friend "Message to _______ deleted"? I don't understand why it's doing that?

It may be that your messages are set to automatically delete the messages after they are sent. Go into message then under settings   look to see if it says auto delete and change the program.

  • Counting inbound emails (including those automatically deleted using ERMS)

    Hi all,
I have a requirement to be able to count all inbound emails in SAP CRM (5.0).  This includes all emails that have been automatically deleted using ERMS after the creation of an Interaction Record and Service Ticket.  Can anyone think of an easy way of doing this in SAP CRM?  The Email Workbench and Agent Inbox do not display deleted email Workitems.  The best option that I have been able to come up with is to export the Workitem Selection Report from transaction SWI1 into a spreadsheet and filter column Workitem ID for unique entries.  Does anyone know of a better way of achieving this?
    Thanks,
    Onkar.

By using POP3, mail is automatically deleted from the server once downloaded by the client without further user intervention (granted, not immediately due to BTYahoos recent non-standard implementation of the POP3 protocol). By contrast, the whole point of IMAP is that mail is left on the server to be available to multiple devices and requires user intervention to delete. Why would a system which is designed to be used for leaving mail on a server be recommmended to someone who wished it to be deleted? If you wish to be pedantic, I agree the OP didn't ask for mail to be automatically deleted, but then nor did he specify immediate deletion either. I interpreted the request as the former, you the latter. Perhaps if we understood the underlying reason why he wished the mail to be deleted in the first place it would help in providing a solution.
There seems to be a recurring theme on this forum to promote IMAP as a universal panacea to overcome all mail problems which is diverting attention away from fixing BTYahoo's broken POP3 servers which have to my knowledge at least 4 problems. Two are deliberate by BTYahoo, lack of secure login and moving read items to the Trash folder temporarily before deletion. Two are faults which they seem either unable or reluctant to fix, intermittant authentication problems and inabilty to download even modest sized attachments on a slow connection.
Correction, he did ask them to be deleted automatically.

  • If I add another profile, will that person's content automatically be saved to my Time Machine hard drive or do I need to take further action to ensure that this is saved?

If I add another profile, will that person's content automatically be saved to my Time Machine hard drive or do I need to take further action to ensure that this content is saved? Thanks for any and all help with this.

Time Machine creates a back up of the entire Hard Drive, with the exception of Boot Camp or exceptions you have created. So in other words after you create the profile run Time Machine, and a backup of the other user profile will be added to your Time Machine backups.

  • HTC rhyme automatically deletes emails in my inbox after 3 days...

When I get emails in my inboxes and read them and don't delete them, I intend to keep them until I want to delete them. However, all emails automatically get deleted after 3 days. I've looked through all the settings and I can't figure out how to fix it so that only I can delete them-they can't be automatically deleted. Does someone know how to fix this?? Thanks in advance!

We need more information from you on what you are using.  What type of email account (Outlook, GMail, Yahoo, etc.) is it that you have questions about?  Which email app are you using to check your email?  It doesn't sound like you are using an app from the Play Store, so I will answer assuming that you are using stock apps (ones that came on the phone out of the box).  I don't have the Rhyme, but I have other HTC phones.
For an Exchange account, go into the email app>menu>settings>sync, send & receive>sync settings>download past email.  This defaults to 3 days.  You can change it to time periods varying from 1-30 days and "All", which is what it sounds like you would prefer.
For GMail, go into the GMail app>menu>settings>select your email address>data usage>days of mail to sync and choose the number of days that you want to sync.
The settings will depend on your answers to the questions in my first paragraph.  Let us know if you have more questions or are using a different type of email on your phone.

  • Due to NAS issues, when I started a new time machine backup it did not have the old backups available. My question is do I need to delete them or will time machine automatically reclaim the space?  Only one Sparse Bundle, same name.

Due to NAS issues, when I started a new time machine backup it did not have the old backups available. My question is do I need to delete them or will time machine automatically reclaim the space?  There is only one sparse bundle but when I enter time machine I don't see my historic backups.  I use a synology DS212 for my time machine.  Started a new backup which is 218gb but it says 618 gb is occupied  therefore it looks like 2 or 3 backups are still on the disk. Before my NAS issues the last backup was in 2014.  As you can see there is a second sparse bundle from 2012.  Not sure what that is.

This is an old message now, but what happened to me similarly was:
I had a major computer crash and through complicated pathways ended up reinstalling (Mavericks) as a new user (long story).
At least I had good Time Machine backups on an NAS drive (Synology DS212j), or so I thought - when I started Time Machine up again, the old backup file was gone, replaced by a new one using my "new computer" name. The old file was gone both by directly mounting the NAS drive and by clicking "Enter Time Machine".
It's like I had {OldShareName}.sparsebundle and then it was replaced by {NewShareName}.sparsebundle, all of the old info vanished.
(I have spent a week finding old files elsewhere and have completed a satisfactory self-restore. It pays to "archive" [my own variation of] as well as "back-up".)
My belief is that if this were a wired-netword-drive, e.g. plugged right into my iMac with a USB cable, then the old file would have remained.
But this is an NAS drive, connected directly to my Airport wireless router, and I don't know the significance of the fact that it stores its Time Machine backups as "sparsebundle" files rather than simply as plain(er) files.
As usual when things get complicated with computers (not just Apple computers) there was never a warning message. Something like "YOU'RE ABOUT TO DELETE A TIME MACHINE BACK-UP FILE!!!" would have made my life a lot simpler.
BTW, I did try a "restore from Time Machine" option the first thing I had my "new computer" (old hardware, 2009 iMac) up and running, using Migration Assistant, and it ran for many hours and then failed in the wee hours - what that has to do with anything I'm not sure.
I'm not sure that I have a question about this other than "why do these things happen to me?", but it's a warning. Apart from that I've been very happy with the stability and reliability (but not the cost or set-up complexity) of NAS vs. directly-cabled external drives.
