Automatically generating multiple pdf reports from single(*.rpt) report file

I would like to be able to automatically pass a parameter list to a single report, and have it automatically generate multiple reports (as saved pdf files), based on the parameter list.
Is this possible? If so, could someone point me to some documentation? Thanks.

What you probably need to do is generate each bio
individually with the
<cfdocument...> tag just the way you want them. And
then use some of
the advanced <cfpdf...> functionality that allows you
to append two or
more individual PDF's into a single large PDF.

Iam looking for a way to generate multiple idoc's from single appl document (sales order). Based on the plant details on line items in the sales order i have to generate multiple idocs, i.e., send one idoc to each plant entered in sales order line items. any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
You can create a Z-program and call Function Module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE.
You can make a call to this FM to send the Idoc as many times as u have plants in your Sales Order.
You can call FM IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDRSP to fill the IDoc structure.
Then u can keep the materials of only that plant for which u want to pass on the information.

Generate multiple PDFs using FOP

Hello,
please take a look to the following code snipplet it is intended for the generation of a PDF document. The PDF-content is written to an OutputStream which works quite well.
The problem is that I want to append some more PDF content to the OutpuStream, but these seams to be impossible. Is there anybody who merged several PDF-Streams to one "big OutputStream" ?

Hang on, your thread title suggests you want to generate multiple PDF documents from a single xml source, but the text is talking about combining pdf content.
I'm not sure which one you really want so I'll the first one.
I've recently had to generate multiple pdf documents from a single xml source. I used the following (hoping the tags render okay):
 <xsl:result-document href="{$filename}" format="html">
 
 <fo:root xmlns:fo="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Format">
 <xsl:call-template name="masterSet"/>
 
 <xsl:apply-templates select="."/>
 </fo:root>
 </xsl:result-document>I used the Saxon engine to split the xml into multiple .fo documents and then ran FOP over each of these.
The 'xsl:result-document href="{$filename}" format="html"' element does the splitting. Obviously, the filename variable defines the path to the outpute file. You'll no doubt define that within some kind of for-each loop.

How to automatically attached multiple PDF reports to an e-mail and send

Hello.
I have a requirement to generate multiple PDF reports using Oracle Reports 6i on the web, then automatically attach these PDF reports to an Outlook e-mail and then bring up the Outlook e-mail dialog box so the user can modify the e-mail (such as adding more attachments, adding a CC, BC, change the message text) before sending the e-mail. I want to be able to initiate all these tasks from Oracle webforms 6i in a three-tier environment.
I have already read various notes and solutions but none of them address all my requirements. Examples:
1. Using OLE to interface with Outlook - but OLE does now work on the Web
2. Using Java stored procedure or UTL_SMTP - but this does not bring-up an e-mail dialog box
3. Using mailto: in HTML and web.show_document - but this does not allow you to attach a PDF file
Can you please advise on possible solutions to my requirements. Thank you very much.

Here is a great resource for sending binaries.

You'll want to use utl_http to run each report with a destype=file and then have another procedure running to check to see when all of your reports have finished. After they are finished, you would run the stored procedure to get all of the binaries, attach them in an email and then send it.
If you want to concate all of the PDF files into one large file, you can do this with a Java stored procedure using iText.

i want to generate 4 PDF report from one oracle report in reports 10G.
from the same query i want to generate 4 PDF with different order and result set based upon the query parameter at a single time.
exp: query fetch Some eng/spanish provider and client data. requirement is i want to spilt into 4 PDF:
Provider wise Eng.
Provider wise spanish.
Client wise english.
Client wise spanish.
Can anybody please help on this?

Exporting to multiple PDF's from one report

I have a requirement to create multiple PDF's from one report.
My thought is that I can I can create a foreach loop that cycles through one of my groups. I would then like to have each file have the name of that group.
If anyone could help me on how to code this in C# that would be great. I need to know where I should be putting this code (program.cs or crystalreport.cs) and how I run it. I am assuming I don't need the viewer for this function, since this is all on my end and no users need to have access to it.
My other requirement is to have each of these reports be put into their own folders at C:\. Thanks for the help in advance!

OK. Yup, you should be able to do this. When I was reading the initial post it looked like you might have ben wanting to export only a certain section of a report (which is a no go).
Anyhow, first thing you want to do is apply Service pack 3:

Next, you want to look at a few sample apps and go over some docs. What you want to achieve can be done by using parameters or selection formulas.

Iam working on a requirement where i have to generate multiple idoc's from a single sales order based on sales org, division on header data and plant at item level, if somebody please let me know how to proceed with this requirement.

Hi,
You can create a Z-program and call Function Module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE.
You can make a call to this FM to send the Idoc as many times as u have plants in your Sales Order.
You can call FM IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDRSP to fill the IDoc structure.
Then u can keep the materials of only that plant for which u want to pass on the information.

BI server needs one fact table to be joined to produce the query.
If you are having at least one fact table in the RPD then the dimension table will try to create join with the fact table and produce the result with the dimension table only.
But in the physical query it will have the fact table too.
Or else you can create a dummy fact table in the RPD.

As for me, writing a little shortcut in 2 minutes, using QuicKeys [OSX or Windows]!
What I do [here, using InDesign CS4]:
I don't directly close the doc. I only play, e.g. here : Cmd-F7 (OSX).
Process: the doc. is saved [1] ; export to pdf [2-3-4] ; the doc. is closed [5]
