Automation of file attachment in VA41 transaction (case managemnt)

Hi Experts,
We are facing problem in attaching file to the sales scheduling agreement, as we have to do mass attachment without manual intervation. We are migrating our data to to a new system, where we have tio attach file to all sales scheduling agreement documents.
In standard, system provides a dynamic screen where if you choose to transfer from file from the alv  toolbar button click, system provides a popup to get the file path and it attach the file to the document. SRM_START_FRAMEWORK_RFC is reponsible for provding the UI for uploading the file. I tried to use the sam logic, but as it it is in abap objects, i am unable to understand complete flow.
As after the migration, there will be huge data to be update with file attachment, it would be difficult to attach file manualy.
If anybody has undergone with this kind of issue, please let me know.
Regards,
Nitin

  • Help needed on properties of files attached to the transaction-crmd_order

    Hi Experts,
My requirement is to hide the file attached to the transaction(crmd_order).
For this, I got the information about the file from cl_crm_documents=> get_info method and the FLAG VARIABLE used for hiding th file is KW_SYSTEM_FLAGS.
But if I try to set this flag by passing this as a import paramter(as properties) to cl_crm_documents=> change_properties method, I am getting 'SKWF_IO E003KW_SYSTEM_FLAGS' error.I am getting this error in cl_skwf_io_util=>check_properties_authority method. It says that the hidden property is a restricted one and we are not supposed to change it.
But I am in need of changing this. Can anyone help me out in this?

What player are you referring to? Is it Creative PlayCenter 2? Playcenter doesn't save any special extension to the files. It uses all the standard extension. eg. jpg,txt.... Not sure what you are trying to say.

class cl_crm_documents has a number of methods which should be of use to you.
create_with_table will allow the file to be created from data held in a table and attached to the activity.
create_with_File will allow you to create with reference to an existing file.
here is an example of the use of create_with_table.
form create_document  using    p_bus_obj type sibflporb
                                   p_properties type sdokproptys
                                   p_file_access type sdokfilacis

I am using Generic Object System (GOS) for file attachment in a custom transaction. If I access the transaction directly, it is working fine. But if I use CALL TRANSACTION 'ZTRAN', the file attachment in the application toolbar is not appearing. I debugged in both way, I don't find any difference. • Read the content of a file attached to a document

    Hi,
I have a requirement to read the content of the file attached to the document and send in the body of the email. The original get stored in the KPRO server. Can anyone suggest how can i read the content of the file stored in the KPRO server. HTTp is used to save the file in KPRO server.
    thanks
    Papiya

    Dear Papiya,
if I got your problem correctly you are looking for some report to get the originals files from the content server and then send it via e-mail?
In this case the report DMS_KPRO_READ may be useful for you. You can start this report in transaction SE38. You just need to enter the document data and then all attached originals will be listed with the corresponding PHIO- and LOIO-ID. Further there is also a small grenn download button to get this file on your PC.
    Best regards,
    Christoph
P.S.: Please reward points for useful information.

    Hi Alex,
The trick to this whole thing is to scroll to the bottom of the message. There should be a dashed line at the bottom of the email message with text underneath it that says, "This message was downloaded as plain text." Underneath that it should say (in blue hyperlink text) "Download full message". Select that hyperlink, and the Excel file should download completely. You should then be able to select the document and have it open correctly.
I have had the same concern regardless of file format that is sent, so I do not believe your issue is with file format. Hope this helps.
I've seen the same thing happen with images, which it displays in a corrupted form. It's fixed by downloading the full message.
There's a more serious side effect of this, which I've now seen with several types of files. If one FORWARDS the email to someone else, the attached files it sends them are CORRUPTED and unopenable too. In the case of a Word files I looked at, it had dropped the last two bytes of the file.
The workaround for that is to download the full message before forwarding.
I'm seeing this happening with so many types of attachments that I'm assuming it affects them all. Please everyone report this to Apple feedback (http://www.apple.com/feedback/). It's one thing not being able to open a file on your device, it's another to have files corrupted permanently just by forwarding.

  • I can't get the file attachment in a web form to work

I have a web form made in Business Catalyst that I'm having some problems with. I have added a file attachment option, but I can't get this to work properly.
When a user chooses a file and sends the form, the message that is being sent includes the name of the file that was attached, but not the file itself! What am I doing wrong?
This is the web form (in Norwegian, but you get the idea of where the file upload is) In this form, the file "produktark_plusstjenester.pdf" has been attached.
The e-mail that is being sent now looks like this (I have removed the private information). But as you can see, it mentions the file produktark_plusstjenester.pdf (94,45 kb), but it is not attached in the e-mail itself.
Hope someone can clarify this for me

File on web forms is attached to the case. Go to the case in the admin and you can retrieve the file.

I have identified that 'Content-Description' is not populating in the un-successful case because on File Receiver Adapter, i have used 'Content-Description' for the File Name as shown on below screen shot...
However i need to identify why the 'Content-Description' is missing in some cases...
This is the reason the attachment is unable to place it on File System...

  • Zip file attachment

    Hello,
we are searching for an answer to the following problem...
We are trying to send an email with an attached file via the email adapter. We are using the mail package format for sending the email. The content of the mail package is converted into an file attachment in the mail adapter. Because we have to define the attachment name we use the MessageTransformationBean to change it.
Now we want to zip the attached file... Can anyone give me a hint, how to realize it? Have we write a module, which we have to call inside the mail adapter? If so, where must we place this module in the EJB sequence?
    Thank you for your replies...
    Best regards,
    Lars

    Hi Palaniraja,
    thank you for your answer...
My question to your suggestion is, can we use it in our case? Because we generate the attached file with the email adapter. I don't know exactly if the file is already send, if we place the module behind the mail adapter EJB. Or must we place it before this EJB. Which step will be the best time to place the new module? Before or after the mail adapter EJB?
It would be great to get the code from your site... Could you please send the code to my EMail address from my Business Card?
    Thanks a lot...

    Lars

  • DMS file attachment in ML81N

    Hi,
I'm using service entry sheet workflow for approval process. We have customized Tab in the tcode ML81N which contains DMS attachement. The DMS will be attached after the document has been approved. But, after approval the document opens in Display mode. As of now, we are reversing acceptance and attaching DMS file  and again approving it.
Is there any way to attach DMS file without reversing the approval ?
    Regards,
    JMB

    Hi Martin,
I've used the method Edit. In that method, we can able to accept the SES. But, my req is after approving SES, it will go to DMS file attachment. Here, the person getting in display mode, so that he is not able to attach the document. What we are doing now is, he will reverse the acceptance and attach the document and he himself approve again. This should not be the case. Is it possible to attach the document without reversing the acceptance ?

  • In Forms Central, attempting to do file attachment, but "select File" option is grayed lout/unavailable - how do I make it available?

in Forms Central, attempting to do file attachment, but "select File" option is grayed lout/unavailable - how do I make it available?

Is it necessary that all the files are on the local hard disks? In the case of the laptop I could understand this if the laptop is also used outside the network, but the desktops should stay in place, no?
It could be as easy as to make a shortcut on all the computers to the samba-share and tell the inlaws that they have to use the samba-share to store their (shared) files.
You are correct about this but I doubt they would remember to use this all the time so I want to sync the folders just in case.
Assuming the laptop is always going to be in the same IP address when it connects to the network (which is unlikely in default configurations), you could create a script that checks for the existence of the machine on the network then perform a sync.  I had a script written in Python somewhere that would check to make sure the server side was up and run unison, but it could be modified to check for the laptop and copy files.  Let me know if that's something you're interested in and I can post it for you.
This sounds like what I'm looking for. Also I wander If it could be done by NetBIOS  name instead of ip address? This way It wouldn't matter.
The script sounds like what I'm looking for though
    Thanks for the help!

  • (SOAP)File Attachment

    Hi All,
I am currently working on SOAP Attachments. My requirement is to send a file as an attachment ( SOAP req containing an attachment),BPEL when receicves the Input should process it to a file adapter which will write the file (attached file) to a particular location.
can any one help me out out of this

    Ex:-
Send a SOAP Request having file attached to it ( ex:- a text file) . BPEL or Mediator should be able to process the request (request containing an attachment , in our case a text file)
, route to a file adapter.
-The File Adapter should write the file to some location on the file system.
-For schemas I referred to [http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/WD-xml-media-types-20041102/].
-Sample SOAP request having Image attached to it should look like :-

  • Files attachment in ABAP

    Hi All:
Is it possible to attach a files (like MS Word, Excel, JPEG, scanned Images or any other file) in Custom ABAP transactions / Screens in ABAP stack of NetWeaver 2004s?
I know this is possible using <u>'Document Management System</u>' (DMS) in mySAP ERP (R/3 or ECC applications) but we are not using these applications. We are developing an application 'Powered by NetWeaver' using only NetWeaver 2004s (not any mySAP ERP or any other application in mySAP Business Suite).
