AV not working after changing account from admin to standard

So I have a user account that was set as administrator. I removed admin privileges from that account and made it into a standard account. A few days later I noticed that I could no longer video chat with anyone (though I could chat via typing). I rebooted my router and computer a million times thinking it must be something else. But then I remembered changing the user account, and as soon as I reset the account as admin video chat immediately started working again.
This doesn't make any sense to me. I don't see why changing my admin account into a standard one should keep me from video chatting. But if there is a workaround, I would really like to know.

Hi,
Have you done anything with Parental Controls with this account ?
In/as Standard Account in the Mac Firewall is UDP Traffic Blocked ? (System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall tab).
Parental Controls is the most likely.
Otherwise I would be stuck as to a suggestion.

  • Jquery content not working after the updates from firefox

    Hi, i've realized that some of my website's banner is not working after the recent updates from firefox, whereas those website's banner is working in google chrome.
    Hope there is a solution for this as i'm using the firefox for years and wish this issues can be settle.

    after 2,5 days (spending half a day within the apple shop as well with this problem) i have it all back on track.
    i did a lot of different things: trying to remove and reinstall iPhoto; did a SL installation over the old SL I had on my HD; backing up all the data of course before and reformatting my HD and installing a new clean SL version on it + a new clean version of iLife9 with all the updates and than I migrate with migrate assistant all the data and setting with time machine back onto it, but all this didn't work, because it also migrated the error/bug through time machine with it.
    so at the end i just installed a brand new, clean SL version on my hard drive, than I did the updates and put all my data, photos, docs, movies, mail, bookmarks, music, etc manual back into the system (drag and drop from my external HD, where i had an exact copy of my internal HD) and did all the settings again in all the different programs.
    the only thing i used migrant assistant with time machine for was for the programs. it seems to work now all fine and i even got more free space on my HD, because some of the old stuff i always carried with me but i never used, i didn't take over.
    basically everything is clean now. At least i hope and works fine. touch wood!

    I had my TimeCapsule reset to change my network connection sharing from Bridge mode to Share a public IP address, and now the printer does not work anymore. Can someone help me to set it up again? Thank you in advance!

    You may have turned off DHCP on your network. What's your DHCP server now that the TC is in Bridge Mode? How is the printer connected to the network? How is the computer connected to the network? What are the IP addresses of the assorted devices on the network, Time Capsule, computer, printer, router, modem, anything else?

  • Can not login after changing account short name and home directory

    Hi,
    I did sth rather stupid while trying a get timemachine working on my iMac 10.5.5.
    I changed the short name, login shell and home directory of my account. (didn't listen to the waning that I may not be able to login if I change those information Now I can not log into my account anymore. I tried to use fileVault master password to change the password of my account, but it didn't help. Can anyone tell me how do I fix this problem?

    Another thing, when I typed in the command, it didn't take the admin (root) password, but the password of the account I was logged in got me through.
    that's what it has to be. it takes the password of the user (it jhas to be an admin user) which is currently logged in.
    I am wondering if I can recover the problem user's files from the sparseimage file, then copied all the files to a new user.

  • Visual composer report not working after change backend function ?

    We already suffered from strange behaviour of visual composer reports totally not functioning at all at some times.
    now I made a change in a function which is called in a function that is used by visual composer. after transporting the change the VC report is not working anymore (while the function itself in the backend is working fine)
    how comes that the VC report is not working anymore after inside changes of the functions it calls ??

    As you have made changes to the function those changes wont be reflected to the VC.so you try to re call the function into VC then it will work fine.

  • ICloud restore not working after change of apple id

    Hello,
    I had an apple account with [email protected] and everything including my icloud backup and itunes is tied to this account. i changed my apple id to [email protected] (not a new apple id) and now when i had to restore my phone, it first asked to log in into [email protected] which i could not log in since the all the passwords i tried is not working. so i skipped it and log in successfully using [email protected] and it restored all the settings and apps. Now my issue is, most of my pictures are not being restored and its been a week and it still hasn't downloaded even with wifi speeds over 25mbps.

    Hmm, there are a few prelims that may be going on.
    It's completely possible that your old backup may not contain all of your photos. It's also possible that you just don't have Photos turned on under Settings > iCloud. Same on your old device that you're restoring from.
    You can always call Apple Support and they can lookup your old and new Apple ID, and see if there are photos backed up.

  • Sudden monitor seems not working after change HD

    Hi Folks,
    after I change my original HD which is made by Hitachi to Seagate Momentus XT, my sudden monitor seems not working again, in perviusly if I take my MBP up from table with a strong accelerate, a sound like "ka-da" would be heard from HD because of the arm in HD reset to its initial position, but now with the new HD, this issue has never happened again.
    anybody know why? please do me a favor, thank you.

    hallo, what thje hell is happening with creative Zen V+ I got it back from assistance for the second time and it's still not working!!!!!!!!!!! I want my money back now, I'm gonna spam the whole of the internet with this unfunny joke, what the hell I'm suppoised to do I really fed up, since I bought the unit it worked for less than one month and for another one it's been back to the assistance for two times!!!! And still it's not working!!!! What do I have to do now in case you are wondering the malfunction is still the same.

    For the Zen V, as it states on the box, you need Windows XP Service Pack or 2, or Windows Vista. You also need Windows Media Player 0 or . As long as you have that, you should be fine there.
    You may also have a corrupted file that is causing the problem. Try not transferring them all at once, transfer it in blocks instead. If one block fails to transfer, try and narrow it down and see if it's a specific file in that block causing the problem.
    When you try it on another PC, do be sure that PC meets the system requirements, especially the Service Pack if it's Windows XP. You'd be shocked how many times people try it on a 2nd computer, get angry when it doesn't work, call tech support, and find out the 2nd PC doesn't even have SP on it.
    All else failing of course contact Support. They can't help you if you don't let them know what's going on, and if you don't yell at them they'll do their absolute best, trust me.

  • VIS not working after change of Adapter

    Hello,
    i am using TS2010 and LV 2010.
    I had a working Testplan that is using only LV-teststeps. Then i switched the labview-adapter-configuration to "Runtime" to remove the Popup-window of labview during running.
    BUT: After the change non of the labview-actions are working any more. When i mark a vi and see its properties then it is blinking and says something with "module not found". Reload Prototype does not help. This seems to happen to all actions that do not have a Teststand-handle as input-parameter. After switching back the adapter-configuration to "development" the VIs are running again.
    So question one is: Why does this happen?
    Question 2 is: Is it possible that the runtime / labview / or something else crashed while this operation of switching the adapter? Because now other thuing are not working any more that worked before.
    Question 3 is: Is ist possible to repair Labview with a repair-installation?

  • Email not working after changing name servers

    Hi there, I have just gone live with my website and changed the name servers to Adobe Business Catalyst name servers and since then my emails are not working. We have figured out the problem that Adobe needs to update their MX Records to point to my server provider, however I can not get hold of them urgently. I have tried to find their phone number and for the life of me they don't make it easy at all. Can someone please help who I can contact a phone number at all? I have filled out 2 support tickets but just don't feel confident that it will get through to them very quickly at all. I have a business to runa nd my clients can not email me. Please help!

    I am planning on changing the name servers to Adobe Business Catalyst tonight.  I've been asking a lot of questions about how to make sure my client's email will work after this.  I had them backup everything in outlook to .pst and I am planning on switching tonight.  However, I had told them I could have their email ready on monday.  How quickly can Adobe get the MX records changed?  I am going to need this done quick.  ????  Help please.  I don't want to do this if I am going to mess them up.

    After changing my Apple ID email from Yahoo to Live, I haven't been able to receive any iMessages, but I have been able to deliver them.

    I recently changed my Apple ID and, initially hit all sorts of problems (ML & iOS5.1). AppleTV very confused, Calandar duplicating entries on an iPad, but losing them on the Mac (but being correct on iCloud.com).
    The solution ended up being straightforward, if unnecessarily annoying.
    On the Mac - in SysPrefs (iCloud) turn off all syncs and sign out. Delete items from the Mac (in response to the prompt).
    On the iPad - in settings do the same.
    On the ATV - turn off Home Sharing.
    In iTunes - log out of the Apple Store
    Sign out on iCloud.com and sign back in using a @me.com email address (not the Apple ID)
    Reestablish iCloud sync (etc) by signing in using the email address (not the ID).
    It appears that everything collects the new Apple ID using the email address and they all play nicely together again.

  • Click Wheel not Working after changing battery.

    After changing my battery on my IPod Mini, the click wheel isn't working properly. I can press the menu,select,play/pause, forward and back buttons, but I when you rotate your finger around the wheel it doesn't work. Any suggestions??

    Hmmmm... If you changed the battery yourself, you might have damaged the click wheel when you took it apart. Re-check the wire that connects it to the main circuit board, and if not that, examine the click wheel itself. If apple changed the battery for you, call them because it's not your fault.
