Avoid Duplicate Named Ranges when copying a sheet from one wb to another with the worksheet.copy method

I have a template monthly report with about 30 pages and 50+ users. Each user makes some modifications to their copy so they are loathe to adopt any new version. My solution is to migrate their data, etc across to the new version. I've solved many of
the problems, but the current one has me stumped. Using OldWS.Copy After:=newWB.Sheets(newWB.Sheets.Count) I get a copy of new sheets in the old workbook and paste them at the end of the new workbook. So far ok. Problem is it duplicates named ranges. I added
Application.DisplayAlerts = False, and that stops the dialog boxes, but the names get added as local sheet scope variables. The .Copy method doesn't seem to have any parameters except the choice of before or after. I've been searching for a week now to no
avail. TIA for any help or suggestions.
Question: How can I avoid duplicating the named ranges if there is already a global (workbook scope) named range in the workbook?

Hi rdperkins,
Base on my test, the result is the same to you, it will keep the same named range in the new worksheet.
As far as I know, we can’t avoid the duplicate named range if there is already exist in the workbook.
Base on my test, we can’t create the same named range through UI, but we can do it through the code.
I suggest that you could delete the range in the target worksheet after copy a worksheet. (Name.Delete)

  • Is there a way of shifting purchases from one account to another with the same billing information, so that I don't lose purchases made by my iPhone when I sync?

The AOL address I was using for my iTunes account has been deleted due to me not signing in for awhile and I'm afraid that I will lose all of my purchases made from my iphone when I sync it into iTunes for a much needed update and so that I can (hopefully) transfer its data to my new iPhone 4...
The only time I have synced my current iPhone was when I activated it but since then I have not been able to sync with my computer and now have a new one.
Sorry about the garbled way this is written but I desperately need help:
1, Is there a way of shifting purchases from one account to another with the same billing information?
    Or
2, is there a way of recovering my old account and changing the details?
Any other help is greatly appreciated

You don't need to access your e-mail account, just get into your Apple account and change the e-mail address. If you can't access your Apple account, then you have a bigger issue to contend with.

  • Error when moving a mailbox from one database to another using the EMS

Error "The database is excluded from provisioning. Please Select a different target database for the move"
Above is the Error i get when moving a mailbox to another database on the same Exchange mailbox Server 2013 using the EMS

    Hi MikeVATX,
Using the EMS I ran the Command
    below,
    Get-MailboxDatabase DBName | select name,*provision*
The result displayed that the Parameter IsExcludedFromProvisioning was set to True which i had to set to false by running the command below as per your guide.
    Get-MailboxDatabase -Identity DBName | Set-MailboxDatabase -IsExcludedFromProvisioning
    $ False
Then i was able to move the mailboxes.
It now works fine. Thanks for that solution.

  • Can I copy clips from one project to another?  The clips are still frames captured within a video event.

Can I copy clips from one project to another?  The clips are frames saved as stills from a video event.  I try the copy & paste but it does not seem to work.

The video was converted into MP4 and then I could get it into iMovie events.  I had right clicked and saved farmes as stills.  ABout 50 of them,  When I tried to copy and paste those stills into another project I couldn't. They came up blank.
I ended up going to a Genius appointment at my APPLE store this afternoon and was told that those "stills" aren't really anything. Not a .jpg or video, so the program doesn't recognize them.  So instead I'm using the Project with the 50 stills and copying other .jpgs and video into it.  (This is for a 1961 Class Reunion, so it's old stuff).  Seems to work so far.
So bottom line seems to be I can use these stills created from a video in the project in which they were created, but no where else.  Do you know a way around this?

Moving tabs from one window to another makes the new window vanish. I have hot corners enabled so when I move up to the right corner of my display I can see all my open windows but when I click on the tab that I moved to make it its own window it vanishes

I came up with an alternative solution.
Instead of actually trying to move the JInternalFrame from one JDesktopPane to another, I added a single, maximized JInternalFrame to the left side. When one of the right side frames is to be docked, I merely copy its ContentPane to the single JInternalFrame on the left, set the original to be non-visible, and adjust the properties of the JSplitPane to make the "docked" frame appear.
When the "close" button on the docked frame is pressed, I simply undo this procedure to "undock" the frame and redisplay it on the right-hand side (with its content intact from the docked frame, but in its original position).

  • How do i copy music from one ipod to another with 1 cord?

how do i copy music from one ipod to another with 1 cord?

You cannot copy content directly from one iPod to another. If the music was purchased from the iTunes Store, you have the following options:
    - sync the iPod to your computer, transfer the content to iTunes, and then connect the other iPod and sync from iTunes
    - use iCloud (which requires iOS 5).
    - download the music from from the iTunes Store to the second iPod. See:

  • Move (or copy or cut and paste) entire sheet from one document to another.

I have several sheets I want to move from one document to another and retain all formatting and spacing, etc.
What is the best way to do this?
    Thanks

On the left of the screen is the list of sheets and tables and charts. Select the sheet. Copy. Paste into the same area (i.e., in the area where the sheets are listed) of the new document.

  • Inherit metadata not working when content is moved from one folder to another

    Hi All,
I have a unique situation for which i would like to know if there is any solution.
We have WebCenter Content 11.1.1.8.0 installed with Framework folders, Accounts and RoleEntityACL (Access Control List-ACL) enabled.
We are not using Accounts, but are using ACL since we want the end users to be able to modify the content access permissions.
Now as per documentation - Managing Content Repositories section 11.2.3.2.1 What You Should Know About Item Level Security
The following occurs in Oracle Content Server on setting custom permissions for a file or folder from the Item Level Security dialog:
The account is changed to account WCILS/original_account.
All users are by default granted RWDA on account WCILS. Changing the account to WCILS/original_account ensures that only the custom permissions determine the security on the content.
The ACL content metadata fields, xClbraUserList and xClbraRoleList are updated with the custom permissions.
The content metadata field, xInhibitUpdate is set to true, to prevent ILS from overwriting an item's own custom security with a parent folder's custom permissions.
Now when i am copying or moving any item from one folder to another folder, it does not inherits the Roles Access Control Lists, User Access Lists of the destination folder in which i am copy the content. It does not inherit the other metadata values like comments and a few more custom metadata value.
I understand that this is due to the xInhibitUpdate metadata field, mentioned above.
Is there any way to override the xIhibitUpdate metadata field and set it to false?
Does anyone know what event is fired when we perform the copy or move of a content item?
    Thank in advance
    Amit

  • When moving my iphone from one computer to another, the apps do not follow and if I purchase an app on the new computer, it seems that all previous apps on the iphone will be lost   How do I import the previous apps to the new computer?

When moving my iphone from one itunes computer to another, the apps installed on the original computer do not show on the new one.  How do I get those apps to be recognized on the new computer without deleting them all from my iphone as it asks.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • Copying photos from one computer to another, with descriptions

After editing photo descriptions and locations in iPhoto, it is desireable to be able to copy them to iPhoto on another computer, with the associated photo descriptions and locations.  In principle, this is possible by selecting all desired photos, then selecting File -> Export...  In the Export dialog box, in the "File Export" tab, select "Include: Titles and keywords", and "Include: Location information".  Copy the exported files to the other computer, and do a File -> Import to Library ...
In practice, this works fine with images taken by some cameras, and not with images from others.  In my limited experience with a Fuji F80EXR and a Canon SX230HS, the above work flow works with the Fuji.  But, with the Canon, while the exported files clearly have the description data embedded in them (as seen by GraphicConverter), it is not imported into iPhoto, nor is it visible in Preview's Inspector.  The workaround I use is to run an exiftool command on the exported files.
Exiftool is a command line utility that can read and write meta data in image files:
    http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
I run the following command on the exported files to rewrite the IPTC Caption:
exiftool −overwrite_original_in_place -tagsfromfile %f.jpg -ext jpg -"IPTC:Caption-Abstract>IPTC:Caption-Abstract" *.jpg
Note that the above command overwrites the files that were exported from iPhoto.  If you wish to leave the original files intact, with an "_original" appended to the file name, run:
exiftool -tagsfromfile %f.jpg -ext jpg -"IPTC:Caption-Abstract>IPTC:Caption-Abstract" *.jpg
I'm not sure why it is necessary to copy and rewrite that data.  Perhaps there is something strange in the format of the meta data in the file as it comes from the camera, and the iPhoto export does not correct this strangeness. Copying and rewriting the data by exiftool seems to put things right.
The above works for me, but is somewhat unwieldy.  Is there a better way to copy photos from one computer to another, if iPhoto refuses to import the description data that it was written to the exported files?

Thanks for the pointer.  I did a test with 10 images, and confirmed the iPLM works, even with the problematic images from my Canon SX230HS.
The workflow is to use iPLM to create a new Library on the computer that has the photos you want to copy.  Copy the photos to the new Library.  Copy the new Library to the second computer using a method of your choice (file sharing, USB flash drive, etc).  Copy the photos from the new Library to the existing iPhoto Library.
iPLM costs $20, whereas my original solution was free (but you need to invest the time to get exiftool installed and working).  But, unlike exiftools, iPLM also copies over the Faces information, so it is likely a worthwhile investment if you use that feature.

  • When I move pages from one document to another, it creates a new alternate layout.

    Hello,
I'm having an issue with combining some documents. Usually I use the "move pages" command and tell the pages to integrate with another document. However, because of the new alternate layout feature, both documents have the default layouts as "Letter V". So when I move pages from one document to the end of another, it creates a new alternate layout labeled "Letter V2" and "Letter V3" etc. Is there a way to make the pages just go into the main layout of Letter V without creating a new alternate layout? How do I merge alternate layouts created in the integrated document? All documents are the same page size and orientation.
    Thank you kindly,
    Sheena

    Petrill,
Thank you. I was trying to do that yesterday, but it was grayed out. It seemed to work alright today.
    Thanks,

  • Will there be forex gain or loss when you move amt from one GL to another?

    Hi,
    Local currency Euro
GL account A account currency Euro  (has got an open item for usd 100)
GL account B account currency Euro
In the above situation if i use the post with clearing t.code f-04 to transfer the 100 us dollars from one gl account A to another gl account B then the system is calculating forex gain/loss. however is this correct to calculate the forex gain or loss for this transaction? From an accounting point of view, conceptually since we are just merely moving the foreign currency amount from one account to another why shd there be a forex gain/loss is calculated?
Take note that dont reply on how to change the F-04 document posting so that no forex will be calculated, i myself know it, i can just change the exchange rate to be the same as the original document's exchange rate so that in the f-04 document no forex difference is calculated. This is not my question. My question is rather on the accounting principles, as to whether shd there be a forex gain or loss for the above situation.
Can someone comment on the accounting perspective of this?

    Hi,
Yes you are right but you cannot say that there is no effect on the P&L because the system generates postings to the P&L and even if the new account is revalued at month end, the forex auto postings made by the system will still be included in the P&L thus overstate or understate the P&L. Therefore i believe i shd not allow the system to post the forex amts during the transfer postings. do u agree with me?
    For example :-
System posts a gain of 20 Euro to forex account abc during the transfer posting.
The month end revaluation on the new account is posts a forex gain of 5 euro to forex account abc
Now the final month end standing for forex account abc will be 20 + 5 = 25 when in actual fact it shd have been only 5.

  • When moving a page from one pdf to another I see a message "consolidating fonts" and the added page does not view properly

I am working with multiple PDF files in Acrobat Pro XI.  Sometimes when I move a page from one PDF to another it does not view properly.  It was fine in the source PDF, but not when moved to the desired PDF.  I also see a message momentarily across the bottom of my screen that says "consolidating fonts".  What must I do to fix this?

    Lloyd ,
Follow these steps for Acrobat 11 .
    Launch Acrobat>Tools>Print Production>Acrobat Distiller
Now in Acrobat Distiller follow these.
    Select Standard in Default settings.
Go to Settings and select Edit Adobe PDF Settings.
Select Fonts and in the font source window select the fonts you want to Add.
Click Save As and then OK.
    See if this helps.
