Avoiding new instance

Question

hi all this is my code
     Set<Person> list = new HashSet<Person>();
          Person p=new Person();
          p.setName("peter");
          list.add(p);
          p.setName("paul");
          list.add(p);
          list.add(new Person("other"));
          list.add(new Person("other"));
     System.out.println(list.size());
          for (Person o : list)
          System.out.println(o.getName());
     the output i see is      
3
other
other
paul
I want to know why peter is not considered here? but if i create a new instance it works , why cant i push a same instance twice in a set with two different values
Person is a simple bean with a name attribute
