[b]Oracle 8.1.7  corrpted file[/b]

hi there,
I have recently downloaded Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition and the installation stops as soon as it tries to unzip a file called : products.rar( or some name like this). Is there any othere site were I can download Oracle 8.1.7
And as I will be installing Oracle 9i ASPortal over Oracle 8.1.7 is there a particlar way to install Oracle 8.1.7.
Any help will greatly appreciated.
Tahnk you

8i is no longer available to download, it is only available at the oracle intranet under explicit request. I advise you to ask your Oracle representative for a copy of 8i. Here in the forum I suggest you to post a new thread at the download forum, and let people there know you want to have 8i for downloading at otn.
I have seen several, certainly a lot of requests of 8i media, here in the forum, but not on the download section. I encourage you to let people who is monitoring this site to let them know your request.

  • Oracle Intermedia Search in jsp files

    I am using Oracle Intermedia for search ".jsp" files. Actually i am storing the files on a bfile column and passing the bfile to a stored procedure which atually reads and highlights the given search keywords in the ".jsp" files.
    Problem here is that the content of the ".jsp" file is a mix and match of staic html and script. the search output gives HTML along with the jsp tags and scripts.
    Can anyone suggest a way to give the html output alone excluding the jsp tags and scripts.
    Is there any method or any inbuilt oracle package thru which we can extract the static content alone(if the starting and ending position of the static content is known).
    Solicit suggestions at the earliest.

    That this searches for the phrase "Oracle programmer", not just any document which has these words.

  • Oracle 11g - External Table/Remote File Issue?

    Oracle 11g - External Table/Remote File Issue?
    =============================
    I hope this is the right forum for this issue, if not let me, where to go.
    We are using Oracle 11g (11.2.0.1.0) on (Platform : solaris[tm] oe (64-bit)), Sql Developer 3.0.04
    We are not allowed to put files on the CSV file system (Server A), where DB instance is running. We are able place CSV files on another server(Server B), where DB instance is not running.
    We are trying to use oracle external table to load text files in .CSV format.
    How do we create a Directory (Create Directory) on Server A DB to point to File system of Server B?
    Is it feasible?
    Any idea?
    Thanks in helping.

    The Solaris DBA should be able to mount the filesystem for you. Either that or you have to get creative transferring the file like this;

  • To Generate Oracle Package from OWB *.mdl file

    Hi,
    I want to generate an Oracle Package from OWB *.mdl file. I know this can be done using the OWB GUI. But is there a way to automate this using a script for a given set of mappings?
    Such a thing is required because I have a large number of mappings and i need to create the Oracle package scripts for the same.

    Hi borkur,
    As you told I tried the same in OMBPlus. I created a file called "comp_src.txt" with the following code:
    proc compile_mappings {} {
    OMBCONNECT owbrepos/owbrepos@blrkec20974d:1521:FDMD1B
    OMBCC 'FDM/BOE'
    OMBCOMPILE MAPPING 'BOE_EXPN_POPULATE_IU_1' OUTPUT VALIDATION_RESULT TO '/nav' WRITE
    SUCCESS
    OUTPUT GENERATION_SCRIPTS TO '/nav'.
    OMBCOMPILE TABLE 'T1' OUTPUT GENERATION_SCRIPTS TO '/nav'
    But i am getting an error message as below:
    OMB+> source C:/oracle/ora93/owb/bin/win32/comp_src.txt
    OMB+> compile_mappings
    Cannot establish connection in single-user mode!
    OMB+>
    I am new to OMBPlus and i came to know that Multi-user mode is default. Then why i am getting this error (Cannot establish connection in single-user mode!)

  • Automating Oracle Server Installation using response file

    I am automating Oracle Server Installation using response file. No Installer page should be displayed, except 'Optional Config Tools' page at the end of the installation showing the list of optional configuration tools e.g Net Configuration Assistant, Database Configuration Assistant, and Intelligent Agent Configuration Assistant. All other pages would not be displayed.
    My response file doesn't seem to work this way. During installation, it displays the 'Create Database' page asking whether you want Database Configuration Assistant to be automatically launched at the end of the installation for database creation. How do I prevent this page from displaying, while selecting default option (Yes) using response file?

    Provide info about the OS you are using and Oracle version.

    Hi,
    >>can i create a nother control file.
    Yes you can.
    1 - alter system set control_files = 'path controlfile 1', 'path controlfile 2' SCOPE=SPFILE;
    2 - shutdown immediate
    3 - copy the controlfiles to desired locations
    4 - startup the database.
    Cheers

  • Oracle error 3113 end-of-file on communication channel in intermedia

    Hello from Athens.I create a domain index.After that insert into
    the table 600 rows from another identical table.
    then I make the query select count(*) from table A;
    return 600 rows
    then I make the query select count(*) from ctx_user_pending
    return 600 rows
    then I execute the statement
    exec ctx_ddl.sync_index('myindex')
    After some minutes I get the message
    plsql procedure sucessfully completed.
    then the query select count(*) from ctx_user_pending
    return 0 rows
    But after the 8 insert when I make for 8th time
    exec ctx_ddl.sync_index('myindex')
    I took the message
    oracle -error 3113 end-of-file on communication channel
    I think is some problem with oracle shared memory allocation but
    I kneed some more help.The environment is
    oracle intermedia 8.1.7 and the os is linux (kernel 2.4.10)
    I waiting for details please
    Thanks Panos

    We have had this problem quite frequently after a number of
    updates to an index. Rebuilding the index or optimizing it
    usually fix the problem.
    More recently, we have upgraded to 8.1.7.2 (a week ago) and
    haven't yet encountered the problem.

  • Oracle Forms 6.0: Message file\ORANT\DBS\FMCUS.MSB not found

    Hi,
    I have a PC with oracle forms installed on it and recently the operating system was updated from win. 2000 to win. XP. After the update, a particular form could not run. It gave the following message: Message file\ORANT\DBS\FMCUS.MSB not found. What could be the likely course of this?

    Hi,
    That's because Forms6i has a 2nd edition for WinXP and you should apply patchset 13 at least for forms to work on WinXP.
    what's your forms version?????
    I don't know how would it react fors6i on upgraded OS from win2K to WinXP.
