Can you be a bit more especific in your question? Do you mean the filter in the Control Center? Which version are you using? 2005, 2007?
Normaly the filtering is used to send information just to the subsidiaries that match that filter. You can expand the filtering if you want by adding your own fields. I also explained that in another document you can find in the links above.

  • Integration Unit in E-Rec

    Hi,
Can anybody tell me what is the importance of Integration unit in E-Recruiting for extractor classes? The integration unit with corresponding object types and classes are maintained in table T77RCF_OIUNIT.
    Thanks
    Naresh

    Hi Buddy,
OM integarated in E-rec is one of most important
The OM integration was developped just to enable the search on orgunits, positions, jobs with a few search criteria. These kind of objectes can be attached to a requisition. The goal is to provide additional information to the requisition, such as what position should be staffed using the requisition. In addition each object (orgunit, position, job) is represented by a smartform within the system. On the UI you will find a link for each object to call the smartform. Now, when the smartform is called, the system extracts additional data from the connected HR system, such as accounting information (using extractor class CL_HRRCF_OIX_ACCOUNTIN
The recruiter uses these links to gather this information. The
extractor CL_HRRCF_OIX_ACCOUNTING provides the following information.
Hope above information can give you help.

  • IPod Classic + Mazda 3 integration unit + Random

I recently got an iPod Classic (120Gb). When I plug it into my Mazda 3 iPod integration unit and set it to random, the song that it plays doesn't match the song information that it displays. What the eff?

If anyone is looking to buy a kit for a mazda 3 I bought a P.I.E adapter and was looking to sell it because i bought something else instead.
    I bought:
    http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=445
    and
    http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1140.
It works wit iPods via the dock connector and iPhones and other mp3 players with the headphone connector. The only problem is that you will have to get an adapter for the iPhone headphone jack, seeing that it is not a standard size. If your interested in buying it or have more questions you can email me at j03613 at gmail dot com.

  • Skype for Business integration?

Hi. I work for a small company. We have a few members of staff in the UK who work from home and the rest are in an office in the US. In the UK, we use the Skype Number as our 'office' number and have Skype credit for making calls.
Our IT person in the US wants to get everyone using Skype for Business as we now have this as part of our Office 365 subscription with Office, Exchange etc.
My question is thus whether I can get any of the Skye Number and Skype credit features on the Skype for Business account? I've searched high-and-low and it doesn't look like we can, so I thought I'd post here and see if anyone can help me with a definitive answer.
    Thanks!

  • What kind of Landscapes can I cover with B1i?

You can connect and exchange data between B1/R3 and B1/B1 by creating or using content (BIUs - Business Integration Units)
Till now the delivered BIUs cover common business practices when exchanging data between R/3 and B1 and vice versa, how ever it is technically possible to connect other systems. Thus you will have to decide if you need to create a new adapter or use one of the ones that are delivered (HTTP, RFC, FILE, B1D1).

    Hi Felipe,
The question would be, how can I create a new adapter?

  • Unit testing or integration testing?

Here it says that this example is more of an explanation of framework than best practice because of the conflation of integration/unit testing concepts: http://docs.flexunit.org/index.php?title=Using_Asynchronous_Startup
My question is, how do you define a line here between unit testing and integration testing? What kind of UI components asynchronous tests are then considered to be unit tests and not yet integration tests? Many books recommend having 100% code coverage with unit tests. How would this example look like, to be considered only a unit test and not integration test?

The question about which levels of testing to do are really dependent upon you. Let me explain a bit more.
If you are building an application, and only an application, then functional testing probably covers most of your needs. In an application environment, you have a relatively narrow pathway of options and interactions that a user might follow. So long as you test those options well, your app will probably work as well.
Where I see the real value of unit testing is testing for the unknowns. If you have a class that will be used in multiple applications in multiple ways, or perhaps it is intended to be a reusable class where others in your organization will use it in the future, then you want lower level testing. You want to have the best coverage you can because you want to know that, regardless of the way someone chooses to use the code, it will likely function or at least fail gracefully.
The same is true for integration. If I am creating a Flex component, then I can unit test part of it, but not all. So, I want to use integration tests to ensure that it works in as many circumstance as possible. Further, Flex components have a life cycle, so testing them when they are not on the display list isn't really a valid test..
So, to summarize, I see unit and integration w/Flex about testing possibilities and trying to achieve realistic code coverage for known and possible use cases. I see functional testing as testing those components in very specific use cases.
Which do you need? Depends. Are you developing reusable components across (n) projects, likely the first 2 and maybe the last. Are you an application developer testing that an application works in documented business cases? Just functional will likely work.
    Hope that helps,
    Mike

  • SharePoint with OneDrive for Business

Hi, I'm looking for some clarification on how OneDrive works with SharePoint. The person who set up SharePoint is no longer with the company and we do not have expertise on this subject.
We have three SharePoint 2013 servers - a database server, a web server, and a Web Apps server.
OneDrive for Business integration works fine. However, I am now trying to upload some 20+ GB at a time but keep getting the error "there is not enough space on SharePoint. You need an additional x GB to copy these files".
I've checked all the servers and I have sufficient free space on them - storage is presented to vSphere from the SAN.
My question is: how exactly does the data get to its final destination on the database server? Does it go through a C: drive on one of those servers and that's why I'm getting the error message? Is there a specific service I can check to see if it's running
to pinpoint the location of the OneDrive integration?
    Thanks in advance.

Did you check for quotas on the MySite Site Collection? By default, I believe it is 100MB. Also, no one file can be greater than 2GB. This is a SharePoint limit.

  • Business Application Guru Max Dolgicer Speaks at Business Technology Summit

Max Dolgicer has more than 25 years of management and technical experience in development and support of Business applications, software products and systems internals. An internationally recognized expert, Max is Technical Director and principal at International System Group, (ISG) Inc a leading consulting firm that specializes in design, development and integration of large-scale distributed applications using leading edge Middleware technologies. Max is coming to Business Technology Sumit 2010 (www.btsummit.com) to speak about all things SOA, on 12 November at the NIHANS Convention Center in Bangalore. At the summit, Max covers the following sessions:
    * Managing the SOA Evolution: once a company has completed initial SOA projects, the number of deployed services increases such that the key question no longer is how to build services, but rather how to efficiently govern the development and operation of services on an enterprise scale. The focus of SOA shifts to reusability, securing how a growing number of clients access the services, and assuring that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met, to name just a few issues. At this point companies run the danger that a "free for all" environment proliferates, and the benefits of SOA cannot be realized. The key is to introduce SOA governance before services spin out of control. Managing the evolution of SOA into the cloud with the correct governance is the next challenge. This keynote will address: typical categories of SOA projects, how SOA Maturity Models and governance relate, and how SOA governance needs to be extended when we move applications into the cloud
    * A ROI Calculator for SOA: let the Numbers Do the Talking: there are many pro and very few con arguments from an engineering perspective that make us believe that SOA is a superior approach for most application development and integration projects. However, nowadays we typically won't get away with brilliant technical arguments to justify the transition to SOA. In most cases we will have to convince the CFO that there is a positive bottom line result. This presentation outlines a ROI model for application development based on service reusability in a SOA. It describes how the cost effect of reuse can be calculated during the development and the maintenance cycle of a portfolio of service oriented business applications. The model is based on metrics that have been widely accepted throughout the IT industry. The model will then be illustrated by a project where multiple business applications have been developed within a SOA that employs a foundation of reusable services. This presentation will show an overview of a project that is used as an example, a popular ROI model that is the basis for the ROI calculation, and the application of the model to determine concrete monetary savings.
    * Defining a SOA Roadmap Based on SOA Maturity Model: once a company has completed initial SOA projects, the number of deployed services increases and the key question no longer is how to build services, but rather how to efficiently manage the development and operation of services on an enterprise scale. What is needed is a concise roadmap that guides the evolution of SOA such that IT can deliver the right value at the right time to the business. This roadmap has to address multiple dimensions of IT: architecture, development processes, applications, information, etc. This presentation will outline a model against which the degree of service oriented maturity of an organization can be assessed, and a process (i.e. the roadmap) for assessing the current and desired degree of service maturity of an organization and for developing a plan for how to get to the target state. This presentation will show: what SOA Maturity Models exist today?, walkthrough of the levels and key elements of each level, developing a custom SOA Roadmap and project example for mapping a Maturity Model to a Roadmap.
    * Service Oriented Integration (SOI): doing Integration the Right Way: IT managers have been under increasing pressure to migrate a portfolio of independent “stovepipe” applications to an integrated set of business services that can be aligned with changing business requirements and support new business processes faster and with reduced cost. Today, corporations have to choose from a number of integration products (e.g. Enterprise Service Buses) that have quite different capabilities, never mind different architectures and standards. This seminar starts with a comparison of SOA and event based architectures and then outlines the key issues and guidelines that architects should consider when defining an integration architecture based on services. The key point of the seminar is a case study that illustrates how SOA concepts have been applied in a real project. It explains the key architectural and design decisions that produced an integration architecture and a set of services that were reused beyond one particular project. This presentation will show: drivers for Service Oriented Integration (SOI), comparing SOA to Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), how to evolve from Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) to SOA/EDA to SOI, and applying SOI in a project example.

  • SEEBURGER integration using PI: BIS, BIC, AS2 Adapter, FTP ?

    Hi All,
we are exploring on EDI project, where sap ecc is integrated with an seeburger edi partner via PI.
the integration involves: EDI ANSI X12 documents like 850, 855, and UN/EDIFACT documents like DESADV
for this while searching, i came across:
    1. the wiki content created by Prateek Raj Srivastava, http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/SeeburgerSuiteforSAPPI
    2. a presentation by sam raju http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00f9cdf5-d812-2a10-03b4-aff3bbf792bf?QuickLink=events&overridelayout=true
I was trying to find out, what all we need in PI..
in PI, what type of communication channel can be used,
can we use FTP adapter, that is comes by default in PI.
or is it necessary to buy something (adapter or content) from SEEBURGER.
after searching little more on seeburger front, got to know that there are:
    BIS (Business Integration Server)
    BIC (Business integration Converter)
    AS2 adapter.
is BIC is an adapter, that we can select as adapter type, while creating the communication channel.
the presentation by sam raju, describes "Configuring BIC as Module", if BIS is configured as a module, what is the type of communication channel in ID.
is AS2 adapter is part of BIS or BIC.
for integration using PI, out of  BIS, BIC, AS2, what all is minumum required?
what are the roles of BIS, BIC and AS2 in the context of integration using PI.
    thanks in advance.
    Madhu_1980

    >>in PI, what type of communication channel can be used,
Any. Using Seeburger Adapter for EDI communication is not mandatory.
    >>can we use FTP adapter, that is comes by default in PI.
Yes, you can use it to send even EDI files.
    >>or is it necessary to buy something (adapter or content) from SEEBURGER
To convert EDI-xml file to EDI, you have to use Seeburger BIC module which has to be purchased.
    >>is BIC is an adapter, that we can select as adapter type, while creating the communication channel.
No, it is an adapter module.
    >> BIS is configured as a module, what is the type of communication channel in ID.
Don't get confused between BIC and BIS. BIC is a module and BIS is a separate middleware provided by Seeburger just like PI. You can use BIC module in any channel which supports use of adapter module.
    >>is AS2 adapter is part of BIS or BIC.
AS2 can come with BIS middleware. It is type of adapter while BIC is module.
    >>for integration using PI, out of BIS, BIC, AS2, what all is minumum required?
For EDI communication, BIC is required (if you don't want to create your own modules). AS2 is required only when some partner demands the use of AS2 protocol for communication.
    >>what are the roles of BIS, BIC and AS2 in the context of integration using PI.
Already explained. Forget BIS when you already have PI.

    Prateek Raj Srivastava

  • 3rd party adapter integration into XI

    Dear Experts
I wanted to know how 3rd party adapters are integrated into XI?

    Hi Dheer,
There many third party adapters available in market.
    One example is seeburger:
U need to follow the below steps for integration into XI:
For the same requirement you need to follow the below steps:
    1) First deploye the Std seeburger mapping provided by see burger on XI
    2) If you are using the AS2 adapter then you have to install the AS2 server on XI server.
    3) Once you install the std seeburger on SAP XI server you will see the AS2,X400,OFTPS,VAN adapter on XI ID.
    5) You need to call the std mapping in the adapter module which does the conversion from EDI to XML and XML to EDI.
if u need process then let me know I will send u the configuration threads which is required for integration.

    Brief about seeburger:
Seeburger adapters like OFTPS,AS2,X400 are used for B2B scenario where the file is coming through WAn network or mailbox. As XI dont have capability to convert the EDIFACT format file to XML the same work will be done by seeburger adapters.
The SEEBURGER Business Integration Converter (BIC) is an any-to-any format converter, used to translate EDI data and legacy data formats into XML and vice versa. It can also be used for complex, high performance XML-to-XML mappings or to interface to existing JDBC data sources.
    Supported EDI formats include:
    • ANSI
    • EDIFACT
    • INHOUSE
    • IDOC
    • XML Schema
    • XML DTD
    • CSV
    • Delimited Data
    • positional data
    • SWIFT
    • EANCOM
    and many more.
See for converting the EDI XML to EDI and XML-EDI you need to have a seeburger mapping program at the adapter module which does the conversion. For this module you need a BIC tool of seeburger which provides the different module program for EDI to XML and XML-EDI. This program needs to be deployed on XI and through adapter it has to be called for conversion.

  • Difference in roles of functional consultant & Business Analyst

    Hi All
What are the differences in the roles of business analysts & functional consultants in SAP? At which levels of organization hierarchy they fall?
    Regards
    Abhijeet

    Hello Abhijeet,
To add on the comments Marilyn already posted, my experience at customer projects is that SAP Functional Consultants are more focussed on one subject matter/business domain like HR, CRM, Finance, SCM, SRM, etc. which are related to the functional modules SAP delivers. The business side of IT products as you can say. Good functional consultants know the details of that specific subject matter and are able to translate these to functional requirements for the implementation of the SAP module.
A Business Analist is a more generic role. Mostly found in the CIO office or at the Information Management part of a business division/unit. He/she translates more high-level business goals into concrete improvement programs and designs.
To make a very bold distinction: Business Analists more like are employees of the company trying to improve its business, where SAP Functional Consultants are hired from consulting firms to do their specific trick. Off course this not always is true, because roles are defined differently from company to company as Marilyn already stated.
I welcome anyone who likes to add comments on this view.
    Regards, Edo

  • Business connector help

    Guy's
i am new to business connector and need some help
file which are easy to understand ,pls
forward such file to my mail-id [email protected]

    Hi Sanju,
    <u><b>SAP BC:</b></u>
The SAP Business Connector is a middleware product based on webMethods’ B2B Integration Server. It allows you to integrate with R/3 using open and non proprietary technology. SAP BC uses the Internet as communication platform and XML/HTML as data format. Thus it seamlessly integrates different IT architectures with R/3.
SAP BC allows for full bi-directional communication to and from R/3. On the one hand all SAP functionality accessible using BAPIs and IDocs can be made available to business partners over the Internet as secure XML-based services. On the other hand applications and information running on a remote web site can be instantly invoked by a simple SAP function call thus making the information of the Web available to an R/3 System.
SAP BC provides an XML layer on top of R/3 functionality so that other applications do not need any understanding of R/3 internal data structures or protocols. You can deploy SAP BC to simply but effectively achieve business-to-business integration between trading partners, thereby extending the reach of your SAP infrastructure to customers, partners and suppliers. Examples for applications may include real-time integration between supplier inventories and your SAP System or multi-vendor product, price and availability information and your purchasing application.

    SAP XI:</b></u>
SAP Exchange Infrastructure (XI) enables you to implement cross-system business processes. The aim of the Exchange Infrastructure is to integrate different versions of SAP and non-SAP systems implemented on different platforms (Java, ABAP, and so on). The Exchange Infrastructure is based on an open architecture, makes uses of open standards (in particular those from the XML and Java environments) and offers services that are essential in a heterogeneous and complex system landscape: Namely a runtime infrastructure for message exchange; configuration options for managing business processes and message flow; and options for transforming message contents between the sender and receiver systems.

  • How to connect with business connector

    Dear Gurus,
I am new to business connector. Could you please give the procedure that how we can transfer the IDOC from R/3 to business connector.
    Please help me.
    Regards,

    Hi Chandra,
The SAP Business Connector is a middleware product based on webMethods’ B2B Integration Server.
