Back End Permission Problem

Hi everyone,
We encounter permission problems with our Visual Composer Applications.
We have created three applications using the visual composer and accessing a BI-system as backend
But the developer has super_user permissions and we dont want our endusers to have them.
Therefor we created new roles only with the permission to see that specific report.
But now, the users are not allwoed to see the data.
The error says, that I should ckeck the permissions.
Well, I did. The user can execute the queries I used directly with BEx - no problem, but within the VC-application not.
So I assume the problem are permissions in the portal.
If I give the user super_user permissions it works, but thats not what I want.
I want the user having minimal permissions in the portal.
Is there somebody who can help me?

Your problem looks like portal authorization issue. There is separate role for 'End Users' to execute & view the portal iview. Just check with your EP administrator, he will solve the problem. There will be role like -
*VC_Role.
*eu_Role.

I have a MS Word document stored in my CRM system which opens by passing a transaction number as input. When we try to preview the word
doc it opens properly from back-end.
But the real problem exists when i'm trying to open it from my web-dynpro thru java, it never opens in a correct format(i mean it never opens at all). When I stored it in local machine to open it from notepad, i could see all the junk data along with original text.

Solution: I didnt looked at the r\3 end that how it was coded, i've changed my code in java to meet the requirement.

Problem with MS-Access as Back-End Database

We are using MS-Acess as a back-end Database
when we are inserting some rows into that table all rows are inserting but the last inserting row statement , is not inserting into that table
please the following code

Back to SUID permission problems

No sooner did I get my permission problems taken care of w/ 10.5, than I got a bunch w/ my 10.5.1 update today. Just FYI, I've got 2 mac's w/ 2 independent 10.5 installs and updates to 10.5.1. Both are giving me the same error message in DU pertaining to SUID permission problems:

Facing permission problem for accessing database

I have just started in this forum. I am very new to j2me and facing problem and I need your help.
I had successfully signed the application and it was working properly on device. Next I added login module in my application where I am accessing a PHP from server which is having MySQL DB connection for usercheck. When I try with unsigned jar it works properly and when I try using signed jar it is showing me wrong username/password. I think it is midlet permission problem.
It would be very nice if someone can tell me what might be the possibilities that it is going wrong.

Signing MIDlet has nothing to do with how data is send over the network. So please be sure that your signed MIDlet is not corrupting your data.
If you are receiving correct username / password at server side, then its server's responsibility to validate it Your MIDlet has posted the parameters right way.
I would suggest you to check following things
1) Check if server is validating the username / password.
2) What response does server sends you back after validating username / password. Check on both ends.
3) Check how your midlet processing the response from the server.
4) Do you get any exceptions?
but I am doing database connection through php which is on server, I hope it is not wrong way of doing it.Doesn't matter what technology is used at server side to connect to the database.

Permission Problems Since Clean Install of Mt. Lion

I did a clean install of Mountain Lion last month. I reinstalled all my apps from freshly downloaded installers, rather than copy anything to my pristine system folder. I copied my music, photos, and other documents from my Time Machine drive. Now, I have constant permission problems on all these folders. I don't have permission to do anything to any of these folders or subfolders. I can't rip a CD to iTunes, I can't sync my iPhone. I can't download anything. I can change the permission on each folder individually, but there must be thousands of them. There must be an easier way. Changing permissions for a parent folder doesn't change the subfolders. Disk Utility reports no problems when I repair disk permissions. Thanks in advance for any help.
Also, the iPhoto app disappeared after the clean install. I don't know how to re-install it. Do I have to wipe my drive clean again and install Leopard from my original DVD that came with my iMac? That would be a huge job to get back to Mountain Lion. I'll post this question in another thread and link it here.

Dynamically switch back-end servers...

Hi, ours is a middleware layer that connect directly to back-end systems. There
is a new layer coming in between our layer and one of our back end system. I want
to device a system that will skipp this layer and directly start communicating
to the back-end programatically. That is at run time without getting the servers
down and changing the configuration to send to the back end system straight.
One way of doing this is shared memory where it read a value and depending on
this value set will route requests thru this new layer or directly send it to
backend. My only concern is, under high load conditions multiple processes of
the same server instance will keep on accessing this value. May be there are lot
other ways of doing this programmatically.
I want to know if there is any other way of doing this in the tuxedo environment?

Hi Sachin,
You don't give details of your configuration (i.e. SSSQ or MSSQ) but perhaps the
following will work:
Include an additional service that is unique to your server (e.g. "ADMIN<servername>")
and when you want to switch make a call to that service (using ud32, or write
your own client). In this way the server will only act on receiving the message,
and will not have to keep checking shared memory.
Let us know if this solves your problem - if not please describe the situation
in more detail (for example, is the additional layer Tuxedo-based? etc.).

Connection between CRM back end and ASP front end website for Ecommerce

I want to establish the connection between a ASP website and CRM back end server(we are replacing th existing ERP back end system with SAP CRM ).
I want to know whether I have to go with XI or any other connectors provided by SAP to establsih the communication between the existing ASP website and CRM back end server..

Okay here is the general concept for your scenario:
-You will call standard/custom RFC's(could be BAPI's) in the CRM system from the existing application.
-You will need to write a new model layer in your ASP application that calls the RFC layer in CRM
-You decide what data you want to use from CRM in your application
Let's assume at minimum you will want to use the product master, business partner master, and business transactions. You will need RFC's/BAPI's for every interaction point where you will consume/publish data to CRM.
So when an user creates an order from your e-commerce site, you will need to support saving an order in CRM. This is example of how you need to map out each function in your existing site to a part of the CRM system. Since we don't know what your site currently does, this is something you would have to do.
Once you have mapped out the business level data to the CRM system, then you can evaluate where you will need a BAPI and/or RFC call. Once that is done, then you can look at the CRM system and see what standard pieces can be called. Then everything else is custom development. Your ASP application will call CRM via RFC.
It is possible to do what you want to do, but it is going to require a lot mapping work and a fair amount of development effort to integrate the two pieces. I don't know if you might be better off looking at the SAP Internet Sales Solution instead so you could focus only customizing that application, instead of worrying about an integration problem. It just depends on how much special functionality your existing e-commerce site has today.
My general recommendation would be for you to hire a consultant that has done an SAP e-commerce project using SAP CRM in the past and let them guide you on the implementation issues. An on-site resource could better answer your "high-level" questions.
However if you have more questions please ask and I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge.

Back-end communication error for r/3 parameter search

Hello everyone,
Have been facing this problem for sometime now.When i was clicking on <b>'binoculars/search'</b> find to check for account assignment on web gui,i was getting this error "display not possible...inconsistency in input help" error.
I did configuration setting in 'define back-end' system(defined the last column of rfc destination), and the error disappeared and is working fine in sandbox.
Now when i do the same in development system,'inconsistency' error no longer pops up but another one pops up saying <b>"error while communicating with the back-end system..inform system admin."</b>
Just to let you all know,<u><i><b>i am able to create back-end documents</b></i></u>...it is just when i am trying to use "binoculars/find" in account assignment...the 'backend communication error pops up.
I have tried everything possible..checked all attributes..everything is fine.
Can someone assist me?I must be missing something very simple...plz suggest.

Authentication with UME separation of front end and back end

My webdynpro project has 2 application. One for Admin one for Rating.
Is it possible to create a java class at Webdynpro level and share it between the 2 applications?
Why the need?
Created a custom class (lets called it CommonEJB), to point to the right pages and set of UI controls after the initial login with UME. This class utilizes the IWDClientUser.getSAPUset() method to get IUser object.
If it is not possible to create a java class at Webdynpro, then this ejb will need to be deployed to the backend.
Putting it at the backend is not good as security wise, its always better to separate the authentication between front and back end.
Any ideas/solutions?

Well, i wish to create a java class that can separate the view areas depending on their login.
lets say you're a manager, u can see certain views. and if you're a supervisor u see another. This is achieved using the java class with information from getSAPUser() position. After retrieving the position, using the java class will programmatically assigned the appropriate views, buttons, tabs etc.
so this class need to in front end, and not back end. problem is we have 2 application.
if the class is created front end in one application can it be shared with another.

Getting parameter values from ITS to back end Modulepool program

Hi,
I worked on external ITS developments for SRM project
I was passing values from and to between ITS front end template and corresponding back end module pool program.
I was using filed-set and field-get macro for passing values. It was working perfectly.
Now i am in new SRM 5.0 project where we are using integrated ITS and i developed small screen in which I am trying to read the value which I am entering in template text filed.
In debug mode i could see that ,when it execute FIELD-GET macro getting SY-SUBRC is equal to 1. I am not able to get the template value in PAI because of macro failure.
I just copied the same program which i developed in external ITS system still same problem.
Please some one help me if I am missing some thing in this.

Issue with back end validation in jsf 2.0

I am upgrading my apps to jsf2.0 and I came across something that I hope you have already solved.
In jsf 1.1 action methods returned a string. If that string was NOT mapped as a navigation in faces-config.xml, then it just rerendered the active page. this made doing back end validation easy because I could add messages to the faces context and when the active page rerendered the validation messages would get displayed and no one was the wiser than it was done on the back end instead of on the front end.
In jsf 2.0 I get null pointers if I return a string that is NOT mapped as a navigation. So I changed the code to return a string that is mapped as a navigation for that page when there is a validation error. but that is treating it like a new request and not a rerender so the validation messages I added to the faces context are not there when the page renders.
if i test submit a form that has only front end validation then it works fine and the validation messages are correctly shown.
any suggestions?

In 11.2.0.3 you are unlikely to see the various truncate/drop issues relating to large numbers of small extents - unless you use dictionary managed tablespaces.
There are a couple of possible threats with small extents and highly concurrent inserts with ASSM that might be a temporary problem when the object size is small. There may still be some issues with large uncommitted inserts or deletes making other session's work very hard to identify free blocks until the large transaction has committed - these things can be hard to test.
There may still be a couple of inefficiencies with parallel query and small extents, although parallel CTAS did have a (possibly temporary) hack to allocate immediate large extents to work around some of the silly details.
Really you need to think through your requirements and them model them on your system - some of the anomalies have changed several times over the last three years.

Error : No valid R/3 Back-end system

Hi CRM gurus,
I'm trying to connect SAP CRM 5.0 to SAP ECC 5.0.
When I launch trx R3AS for downloading the first object of the list coming from Best Practise (DNL_CUST_ACGRPB), I am getting the above error: "No valid R/3 Back-end system."
Now the point is that RFCs work smoothly, administration console as well and R/3 view CRMRFCPAR was filled correctly.
Where is the problem? I'm looking into, but without results.
Any suggestions in this issue will be rewarded.

I have carried out all the checks in the tables and it seems that everything is fine!.

Maintain Table CRMRFCPAR and CRMCONSUM?
In Table CRMPAROLTP, Parameter "crm release" should set to your CRM version ( ex 500 for crm 5.0)
Maintain table TBE11, APPI should be NDI(new dimension integration),A yes
I don't really know where the error could lay.

How to extract data in a webpage to a excelsheet or back end DB

Hi folks
I'm kiran and i'm working as technical recruiter. previously i worked as a shadow associate with National Informatics center (A govt of india IT department) where i first tried my hands on JAVA and was amazed with the things which i could do.
Now with my present company, where we are trying to build a recritment tool and I have taken charge of building it. And this totally deals with the recruitment cycle from saving the data of the candidate to a back end, the status for follow up and the whole recruitment cycle phase.
Now the problem I'm facing now is with the extraction of data from a web page. I had tried on a testing basis in which tried to work with get and set properties, where i was sucessfull in extracting the data which were stored on the web page in setter and getters pattern.
But when i tried to do it on a live web page on the net I came to know that the data was stored in data grids and mostly in tables for display.
I want to know how could i transfer the data in these tables (in a web page) to a excel sheet or a back end data base.
I need some help on this. It would be appreciated if i could get some sample code, from which i can have a fair idea to start the process

If you want to import in this format, I suggest you use the Java Custom Function JExport. It is more flexible than Dataexport to create the file the way you need it. This thread shows you where to get it
