Background color / loading time.

Amateur and beginner here. In need of few explanations and
help from experts. Really appreciate your time.
I have created simple slide shows movies to present 2 to 3
fading jpgs.
I inserte them in my pages using Dreamweaver. Average size of
the swf file is 200 KB.
My page backgrounds are dark in color and would like to avoid
the white shape behind my flash slide show just prior to loading.
In slow connections last sometimes 2 to 3 seconds.
I tried different things but can not find the right way. Is
my file too big ??
Do I need to preload something ??
Thank you.
Chris.

sure Chris
Just add
<param name="bgcolor" value="#99cc00" />
and in the embed line
width="540" height="360" bgcolor="#99cc00" loop="false".....

  • Change background colors of time machine

    The new color scheme in time machine is absolutely horrible.  I can no longer see the list on the right, with a purple on purple background.
    I called support and got some idiot that just popped off, can't be done, good bye.
    There has to be a way to change that, can someone help me out here, I can't read the list at all any more

    This is an unsupported and untested hack. I don't know whether it still works. Although I don't generally advise hacking on this site, it seems justified in your case.
    Back up all data.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    defaults write com.apple.finder _FXShowBackgroundAnimation -bool FALSE
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
    Relaunch the Finder.
    To undo, repeat the above steps with this command:
    defaults delete com.apple.finder _FXShowBackgroundAnimation

  • How to save background color in 3D PDF ?

    I use Adobe Reader v. 10 for 3D PDF files So does my colleague. On my machine, the image comes up

    annotations almost illegible. So he has to change the background color each time he brings up a file.
    How can the choice of a certain background color be SAVED, so it comes up the same next time ?

  • Please Help with background color problem in loaded .swf

    I am stuck!
    This is Flash CS4...
    I created a flash application which loads in many other little flash applications (.swf files) based on menu selections.
    When I change one of the little applications the changes are viewable except when I change the background color.
    After the first time I view the application, the background color changes do not carry over to the main app.  I run the little ones stand alone and they show the new color, then I run the main app and any other changes I have made are there but not the color change.  When I remove the file and the load fails, the old backround color still displays in the container movie clip the .swf was previously loaded into.
    I have tried several different options and the only thing that worked was renaming and copying and deleting and making a big mess.  There has to be a way to force a refresh of this mysteriously saved color. doesn't there?
    Please help!
    Thanks!
    Vivian

    Hi Antonia
    I am loading the swf into an instance of a movie clip:
    var myLoader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
    myLoader.loadClip("Capitalization.swf",  contCapitalization);
    it is the background of Capitalization.swf that will not change
    this is AS 2 since the app was created before I upgraded
    Any ideas?

  • Different background color when loading applets

    I can't find the information for when a browser loads an applet, to change the background color while the applet is loading.
    I know there are other "optional" applet tags as well, but I can't find the information.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Also to get rid of the java cup image
    <PARAM NAME="image" VALUE="" />
    Or you can replace the value with a real image of your own

  • Swatches loading into background color when clicked, not foreground

    Can someone advise. When I mouse click on a swatch from the brush tool the color I select is loaded into the background color instead of the foreground color. Then to use the color I have to slide the reverse tool, which is a pain and slow. How can I have the clicked color load into the foreground first? I'm in Mac CC.
    Thanks,
    Seth

    It can be hard to tell which color chip in the color panel is actually the active one.
    The active color chip in the color panel will have either a white or grey line around it, depending on the ui interface color photoshop is using)
    When you use the eyedropper are you using any modifier key like Command.
    You shouldn't need to use any modifier key with the Brush Tool selected and clicking on one of the swatches in the Swatches panel to set the foreground color.
    (with the brush tool selected, holding down the command key while clicking on one of the swatches will set the background color in the toolbox)
    If nothing seems to work, i would reset the photoshop preferences
    Press and hold the Shift+Command+Option keys just after starting the launch of photoshop
    Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop settings file
    Press Yes

  • Load time/background loading

    I wish there was a way to customize the way a published catalyst site loads. For instance if you were building a website you could set it to load the home page first and then start loading other pages in a specified order in the background. This way a user doesn't have to wait for the entire site to load before they are able to view anything.

    Hi Michael,
    There is a lot of information available about optimizing the startup time of your application. Unfortunately, most of it is written for programmers, since traditionally they have been the ones responsible for deployment and performance.
    Here is Adobe's documentation for Flex 3. Most of it should still be relevant:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=layoutperformance_02.html
    What I'm about to explain is a bit subtle, as we consider this one of the more advanced parts of FC:
    Flex actually DOES defer loading the other pages until you need them, but this is sensitive to the way that you've set up your project. There are some steps you can take to optimize load time in FC.
    Basically, you want to ensure that objects only exist in the pages (aka state) in which they are used. FC's UI doesn't draw a strong distinction between an object EXISTING in a state and an object BEING VISIBLE in a state, but they are two different things. If an object does not exist in the current state, it will be grayed out in the layers panel and its eyeball will be off. If it is merely hidden, it will be black and it's eyeball will be off or grayed out. Confusing, I know. Sorry =).
    To remove an object from a state, select it and press the delete key on your keyboard. You should see it become gray in the layers panel.
    You should do this for all the objects that don't exist in the first state. However, beware: this will effect your timelines. In particular, if you have an object hidden in Page1 at a certain position, and visible in Page2 at a different position, the timelines panel will create a Fade In AND a Move effect for the Page1 > Page2 transition. However, if the object does not exist in Page1, it also doesn't have a position in Page1, and therefore you will not see a move effect.
    If you minimize the number of objects in Page1, you should see a noticeable improvement in startup performance. Good luck!

  • My  iPAD 1 just changed its background color to red. The unit is 3  years old. Is something breaking? Time for a new iPAD?

    I am wondering if my iPAD (1st generation) has a major problem since the background color recently went to red?
    The unit still works, but the appearance makes me think something is wrong and can only be fixed by buying a new iPAD.
    Has anyone had this strange color change and how did you handle it?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the suggestion, since I had forgotten how to reboot the unit.
    Unfortunately, the red color persists and even beyond that there are some odd colors while the unit is in use.
    Thank again.

    <p class="c3"><strong class="c2">Using Octenol to Attract Mosquitoes<br /></strong><br /></p>
    <p class="c3">Octenol is an natural chemical that occurs naturally as a by-product of plants and some animals that eat a lot of vegetable produce. If carbon dioxide is mixed with octenol, it has been found to be an attractant to several mosquito species. There are other insects such as no-see-ums and biting midges that are also attracted to this scent. It has been proven to be a very effective product, especially for no-see-ums.<br />
    <br />
    <img src="images/12137165-cartoon-stop-mosquito.jpg" width="168" height="168" alt="mosquito" /><br />
    <br />
    Octenol is also a pesticide ingredient that is used to attract mosquitoes and biting flies. It does not kill the insects; it only attracts them. It can be used in combination with other products and devices that do kill them once they are successfully attracted to the device. It is important to be aware that non-pest insects are also attracted and destroyed by some of the devices.<br />
    <br />
    If octenol is ingested, there is a possibility for toxicity. It is not, however, harmful in the air to humans, pets, or the environment. It is vitally important that it is kept safely away from children to avoid the possibility of ingesting. Placement of the attractant and device utilized to catch biting insects should be carefully considered. It should be kept safely away from children and pets.<br /></p>
    <p class="c3">To be most effective in mosquito control, the attractant should be placed between the breeding grounds of the mosquito and the area where the people are located. There are range limits that the attractant will reach and this needs to be considered in the placement of the trap as well.<br /></p>

  • Can this html code be changed to speed up the image load time?

    I found some html that creates a auto running slide show. I've got three images (small image sizes) but it is slow to start up when the page is first opened. http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Site/test.html this is the escaped code:
    <center><img id='imageholder' src='' ></img></center>
    <script type='text/javascript'>
    images = new Array();
    images.push('http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Docs/typewriterprpage.jpg');
    images.push('http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Docs/royalprpage.jpg');
    images.push('http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Docs/Lovetest.jpg');
    var image_index = 0;
    function rotateImage() {
    if (image_index == images.length - 1) { image_index = 0 } else { image_index++ }
    document.getElementById('imageholder').src = images[image_index];
    setInterval('rotateImage()', 5000);
    </script>
    I have a page: http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Site/Resume.html
    that has a rollover image (from OldToad) that has two images about the same file size and located in the same folder on my iDisk as the other slide show images but it seems to load instantly.
    this is the escaped code:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    <!-- Begin
    loadImage1 = new Image();
    loadImage1.src="http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Docs/typewriterprpage.jpg";
    staticImage1 = new Image();
    staticImage1.src="http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Docs/royalprpage.jpg";
    // End -->
    </script>
    <a href="http://web.mac.com/phelpssculpture/Site/royal.html" onmouseover="image1.src=loadImage1.src;" onmouseout="image1.src=staticImage1.src;">
    <img name="image1" src="http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Docs/royalprpage.jpg" border=0></a>
    Does anyone know if it's possible to improve the html of the slideshow snippet to speed up the initial load time?
    Thanks, David

    Ethmoid:
    There are seven different pages: http://web.me.com/phelpssculpture/Site/movieroyal_davidphelps.html
    Each link is directed to a different page.
    I created the basic layout on one page and then duplicated the page six times.
    the links are in one text box ( that's why they're lined up well ) and each individual word is activated as a link. I changed the background color of the forward tab to match the color of the main shape and used the send forward or send backward command to get the tabs to look right on each page.
    The only problem with the words being in a single text box is that explorer doesn't render the spacing correctly and they fall off their respective tabs. When I get time I will put each word in it's own text box ( it's not that hard to align them ) so it will render properly in explorer.

  • JTree custom renderer setting selection background color problem

    Hi,
    I have a JTree with a custom icon renderer that displays an icon. The JTree is part of a TreeTable component. Iam having a problem setting the selection background uniformly for the entire row. There is no problem when there is no row selected in the JTable.
    My present code looks like this:
    Iam overriding paint in my renderer which extends DefaultCellRenderer.
           super.paint(g);
            Color bColor = null;
            if(!m_selected) {
                 if(currRow % 2 == 0) {
                      bColor = Color.WHITE;
                 } else {
                                                    bColor = backColor;
            } else {
                 bColor = table.getSelectionBackground();                  bColor = getRowSelectionColor();
         if(bColor != null) {
                           g.setColor(bColor);
             if(!m_selected) {
                   g.setXORMode(new Color(0xFF, 0xFF, 0xFF));
             } else {
                 g.setXORMode(new Color(0x00, 0x00, 0x00));
                  I have a color I arrive at using some algorithm that I want using method getRowSelectionColor(). The other cells in the row have this color. But the cell containing the tree node shows different color. Iam not able to arrive at the right combination of the color to set and the xor color so my tree node also looks like the other cells in the row.
    It is not a problem really as the table still looks good. Its just that the tree node looks like it has been highlighted and this might cause a problem when a table cell is highlighed later on in the application ( two cells in the row would be highlighted causing confusion).
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    vidyut

    Hi Camickr,
    Thanks for the reply. Iam sorry I didn't include the sources the first time around. There were too many of them. I have created a small, self-contained, compilable program that demonstrates the problem and including it herewith. Still there's quite many files but they are all needed Iam afraid. The only one you will have to concern yourself fior this problem is the file IconRenderer.java. The treenode background and the other cells background are not in sync when table row is not selected in this example though. But they are in my real program. I just need them to be in sync i.e have the same background color when the row is selected.
    Your help would be very much appreciated.
    These are the files that are included below:
    1. AbstractTreeTableModel.java
    2. Bookmarks.java
    3. BookmarksModel.java
    4. DynamicTreeTableModel.java
    5. IconRenderer.java
    6. IndicatorRenderer.java
    7. JTreeTable.java
    8. TreeTableExample3.java (contains main)
    9. TreeTableModel.java
    10. TreeTableModelAdapter.java
    The copyright and javadocs information has been stripped for clarity.
    cheers,

  • Default background color issue

    Hi,
    I am trying to change themes at run-time using
    StyleManager.loadStyleDeclarations(). Whenever I switch to a theme,
    the default theme's background color shows up for a fraction of a
    second. I tried using the "StyleEvent.COMPLETE" event handler but
    it doesn't seem to work. Is there a way to remove this? I want the
    transition from my current theme to the next theme to be smooth
    without the default background color appearing. If anybody can
    please provide a solution for this, It would be a great help.
    Thanks,
    Jai

    That's not what he's talking about... He's saying if you load
    a CSS file with loadStyleDeclarations(), it will momentarily flash
    the default, green Halo theme before switching to the new style...
    If I load up my white theme (White.swf -- compiled to swf from css)
    and then I want to change to my red theme (Red.swf) like:
    StyleManager.unloadStyleDeclarations("White.swf");
    StyleManager.loadStyleDeclarations("Red.swf");
    At the * point in the execution, it will flash the green Halo
    theme instead of just making a smooth transition from white to
    red... It doesn't look so professional...
    I have the same problem when switching themes, and it's very
    annoying... Guess I'll keep an eye on this thread...

  • GPO to set display background COLOR

    Need to set the display background color with a group policy.  Found what seemed a good example to follow but nothing happens.
    http://serverfault.com/questions/213641/how-to-force-background-colour-with-gpo-centred-wallpaper
    Any assistance is appreciated.
    Windows 7 sp1 PC

    You could create a theme that includes the background of your choice, then share it using group policy.  Follow these steps to create the theme:
    http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/share-theme-with-all-users-windows-7/
    The Windows 7 GPO to "Load a specific theme" is under User Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> Personalization, which can be set to point to a shared location that contains the theme.  The drawback here is that existing user
    profiles will ignore this setting.  Only new users logging into the workstation for the first time will execute it.  So to convert existing users, you would need to push out a registry change that points to the new theme.
    In addition, you can also set "Prevent changing theme" and "Prevent changing desktop background" to keep the settings locked.

  • Discovery: Border color trumps project background color, sort of

    I just made an interesting discovery.  My project background is set to #FFFFFF white (Edit > Preferences >  Defaults > Background color) and my borders are set to the "company" orange (FF7900, REALLY orange).  During normal viewing all is okay.  However, if there's a lag between a published project ending and another loading, I see this gigantic orange box.  Aha!  if I disable my borders, I only see white during a loading transition.  Apparently the borders are filling in the area during preloading?
    I'll submit a feature request.  --Leslie

    In the Layout menu for two photos per page try selecting one of the top two options. That seemed to give me pink borders every time I selected it.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
